Fan in back plane Cisco 6504

I have this Cisco 6504 and it generated the following syslog
Mar 13 03:17:45 192.168.90.230 1934: Mar 13 03:17:43.735: %C6KENV-SW1_SP-4-FANCOUNTFAILED: Required number of fan trays is not present
When I do show environment, it indicates that the fan in the fan tray is ok but the "operating fan count 0" in the switch 1 backplane. I don't see any fan in the backplane but I'm
not sure either what fan is it talking about. I have a opened a TAC but of course TAC has not clue either.
Can someone shed some light on this please?

  • ONS 15454 Back Plane DS1 Cable Question...

Do the DS1 connectors on the back plane of the ONS 15454 mate with screw down AMP Champ connectors or with Bail Lock AMP Champ connectors? The documentation seems to be ambiguous. The part number listed for the connector is a Bail Lock type connector, but the drawings and the last paragraph in section 1.11.2 of the Hardware Installation document suggest it is a Screw Down connector.

Obvious power issue effecting all back plane jks. Popping HOURLY (clocked) thru speakers, lites up lamp on doc scanner. Has blown power supply once. "Genius" diag NTF twice B4 power supply blew. Still have same trouble. I made very CLEAR to Genius Bar that it was a hardware issue after they continued to trouble shoot software. I was referred to tier 2 who told me they only worked on SOFTWARE. Does anyone know a more qualified shop who can fix an OBVIOUS mother board issue tracing back to the power supply? I had the same issue with a 20" with 7 visits & had to literally take a video of the trouble before they could figure out the trouble was the video card. From reading the sheer number of posts of the same trouble descriptions going back to 2007, it's all too obvious the path to MSFT is being taken.

  • ATM Back bone.Cisco VS Nortel which is better

I have a situation whr i need to connect 7 different sites together with ATM. I have STM 4 as back bone and some place PDH E3 and E1, I am looking at cisco product with following configuration.
    1). 4 XSTM 1
    2). 5 XE3
    3). 8 XE1 Data
    4)9 XE1 Voice.
    5 8 X1000Mbps.
The switch should support 2000 PVC, SVC s
Minimum of 100 Point to Multipoint connections.
I have Nortel 6480 Paasport. But i am looking for cisco products. What do ya suggest from you experince. n what is equvalent of nortel 6480 in cisco.

The reason I asked about buffer size is because I was having a problem with gapless playback. In iTunes I had my tracks all set up for gapless playback and they would play just fine there (seamlessly), but on my iPod I would sometimes get little mini-pauses between tracks when tranistioning from one to the next but others would trnasition just fine --- and on top of that I didn't always get the same result between the same two tracks ! In addition, I would also occaionally get longer pauses in the middle of a track. This would hapeen with both Lossless and WAV formats, and oddly enought it seemd to be more frequent with the Lossless format. I talk with Apple Tech Support about it and asked them if it could be either the cache size or how the cache is being managed internally, and they said no the cache size and how it's managed should be able to account for the extremes of many little tracks being queued up in it vs. only part of one large track being able to fit. Bottom line, they said you should be able to experience gapless playback no matter what the size of your individual tracks are, and the cache should be able to properly manage things. So they seemed to think it was the hard drive itself failing and recommended just swapping out for a new unit since it was in warranty.
I haven't re-loaded my iPod yet since getting the replacement because I was wanting to first find out about the differences between the file formats that I initially asked you all about. I'll let you all know if I experience any more problems with gapless playback on the new unit.

  • Fan Part Numbers for Cisco 2801, 2821 and 2851 fans

I have P/Ns for Cisco 2811 router fans as follows:
    ACS-2811-FAN-1/2= and ACS-2811-FAN-3=
But I do not have part numbers for fans used in 2801, 2821 and 2851 routers.
Does anyone have these prt numbers?
It doesn't make sense to change the whole router for just a fan failure.

    Hi
for the 2821 and 2851 routers the fan is the same : ACS-2821-51-FANS=
for 2801 the whole chassis needs to be replaced

    Dear
Problem No 1 : we are working in a process industries with three plants each of them have three order type. we have define MRP group in "OPPR" then assign each MRP group to Orde types in "OPPE". Now the problem is whn i convert plan order in process order for any material systme automaticaly pick the order type PIi01.
    Answer :
1.Please check the OPPR -Plant and MRP group -Select Order Type Button -Check what Order Type you have assinged here ( PI01( May be the default Process Order Type )
2.If you are maintaing MRP group ( 0001 or 0002) , did you asisng the same in MRP1 view ?? because
3.Did you maintain the similar Order type in OPKP -Define Production Scheduling Profile ? -This has highest priority .
4.Did you maintain correct order type in OPJH-Maintain Order Type ??
Refer the expert comments on the same issue : Strategy group to define production order type
Problem No 2: 2nd Problem is system system is not creating plan order for prrevios dates. say i enter PIR for month of november from first november to 30th november and run MRP on 29th the sytem create plan order on 30th of november with exception message 30.
Answer : You can plan the order in back dated , if you maitain Satrt date in the Past optiuon in OPU3/OPU5-Define Scheduling parameters .Goto OPU3 -Select the Order Type -Double click -Maintain 90-60 days in the Start Date in the past in Scheduling Control and Details scheduling tab .

  • Back-up Cisco SG 200 Switch

    Hi,
I have a Cisco SG200 switch. Few ports on this switch hosts inputs for video streaming purpose and few ports for general outbound internet.I need to install a secondary SG 200 switch which will act as back-up in case the current switch fails/ goes faulty. The configuration of this switch should be exactly the same is the current one. Kind of  1+1 service. Please let me know how to go ahead and do this.
    Thanks

  • Cisco 6504-E Switch question

    Dear All,
TIll now I have worked with 2960-X series switches. I am new to 6500 Series switches. As we are upgrading the network. My company is looking for a switch which supports  16 SFP+ ports and 10 Gigabit speed per each Ethernet port.  We are building a core switch and I was checking the Cisco models and found out that 6504-E switch is a good choice according to our requirements. But I have following questions. I request you to please answer it:
    1. Cisco Catalyst 6504-E Switch is just a body and comes with 4 slots with no modules installed. Is that correct?
    2. Cisco Catalyst 6504-E Switch need to be installed with "WS-X6908-10G-2TXL" Part number module for Fiber connectivity SFP+ uplink?
    3. For 48 Port Gigabit Ethernet with POE support which module is supported? Each Gigabit ethernet port should support speed till 10 GBPS.
    4. Does it support application visibility and Control?
    5. Does it support routing between two separate VLANs without the need of Router?
    6. Each module do we have separate console port or one module with Console port in enough in order to configure all the modules? Basically how does it work?
Please answer to my above queries. Thank you.

#1 Yes, also you need to install power modules too.
#2 Need?  Well it depends on your requirements.  BTW, I believe 69xx cards require a sup2T.
#3 Actually I believe all 6500 PoE line cards are now end-of-life.  Cisco now has IA switches that support PoE.
#4 Don't know.  Is that a specific product?
    #5 Yes.
#6 You manage the whole chassis with one console port.  Most line card modules are directly configurable while managing the device.  Some service modules require you to start an "internal" session to them, but you still only need the one console port.  (Management can also be done across the network.)
BTW, 6500s are being phased out with the 6800 series.  Unsure 6500 series offers SFP+ ports.  I believe the 6880 does which is about the same size as a 6504 and offers more performance.
Depending on your needs, you might also want to look at the 4500 series.  I recall (?) one of their later line cards support SFP+.  The also still support PoE line cards.

  • Fall back plan

I am planing to upgrade from Oracle 9i to Oracle 10g (Linux)
Manual Upgrade - If fail what woule be rollback plan
DBUA - If fail DBUAL would automatically take care
Manual upgrade: how much time it would take upgrade
DBUA: how much time it would take to upgrade

Better to go for manual upgrade so everything will be in your control while if DBUA is used then it is a bit difficult to troubleshoot if you face issues.
For sure you will take a full backup of the 9i database before the upgrade so the rollback plan is to restore the backup.
Do the upgrade on test environment before doing it on production so that you can test all the scenarios and work on troubleshooting issues if you face them, and note down all the steps of the upgrade after which you can apply the similar steps on production.

  • 10.4.4 - Re: 10.4.3: revving up fans are back

The problem has not been fixed.

Check the fan setting. I've seen recommendations to set it to automatic, but I don't have the G5, so this just might be an off-the-cuff response.

  • Pxi back plane power

    HI there,
I have a PXI-1044 chassis loaded with varios NI cards, such as arbs, DIO's analogues and data aquasition cards.
I have also designed my own "Passive" PCB that just uses the supply rails on the cPCI P1 connector.
However I find that the -12V rail is not there on my own card.
Is there a power sequencer or device that turns off the rails to cards that doesnt tell the controller that it needs them ?
Can I frig this using MAX or put a wire link on the PCB connector to another pin to get the -12V line enabled ?
This is proving to be a real show stopper !
All other PXI Cards fitted to the rack function correctly !
    Help please !
    John
my real email address is [email protected]

    John,
-12V is supplied to the slots regardless of whether there's a card present or not.  If you're sure that you're looking at the right line, you may have a bad/damaged power supply or backplane.
You should probably check the voltage at the "Remote Inhibit and Voltage Monitoring" connector on the back of the chassis with a DMM.  The pinout is on page 2-9 of the detailed specifications.
