Fan Out Ratio with 674

I am working on a WAAS/WAFS solution for a customer with 100-150 remote sites. All sites are single homed with 1.5Mbps T1 connections to an MPLS WAN. The customer will be using WCCPv2 for redirection to the WAE.
The current plan is to provide dual 674 at each of 2 data centers. I have a couple questions with this design.
1. For redundancy purposes, can a WAE be a member of more than one core cluster. Could the remote edge device have one edge to core cluster at DC1 and one core-to-edge connection to DC2?
2. How many fan out peers for DRE does the 674 support? How many CIFS fan out peers does it support? Is a CIFS peer or DRE peer the same from a fan out planning ratio?
3. Is there an updated WAFS/WAAS sizing tool out yet that reflects the capacity limits of the 674 and 7371 models?
Thanks in advance
Mike Louis

Mike,
1. A WAE can be members of multiple core clusters. In the 4.0.x code, they will have 4050 connections to all the cores they are paired with.
2. The 674-4 is rated 100 peers, the 674-8 is rated 200 peers. This platform is being positioned for the virtual blade features in 4.1 and maintaining roughly the same performance as the 612.
3. I have seen this internally, however I would talk to your Cisco Sales team to get the official external version.
Thanks,
Dan

  • Problem with outer join with filter on join column

    Hi,
    In physical layer I have one dimension and two facts, and there's an outer join between the facts.
    dim_DATE ,
    fact_1 ,
    fact_2
    Joins:
    dim_DATE inner join fact_1 on dim_DATE.DATE = fact_1.DATE
    fact_1 left outer join fact_2 on fact_1.DATE = fact_2.DATE and fact_1.SOME_ID = fact_2.SOME_ID
    When I run a report with a date as a filter, OBIEE executes "optimized" physical SQL:
    select fact1.X, fact2.Y
    from
    Fact_1 left outer join on fact_1.DATE = fact_2.DATE and fact_1.SOME_ID = fact_2.SOME_ID
    where Fact_1.DATE = TO_DATE('2009-05-28' , 'YYYY-MM-DD' )
    and  Fact_2.DATE = TO_DATE('2009-05-28' , 'YYYY-MM-DD')
    The filter on Fact_2.DATE effectively replaces outer join with inner.
    Is there a way to disable this "optimization", which is actually very good for inner joins, but doesn't allow outer joins?
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

    If you want to perform a Fact-based partitioning with OBIEE (two fact with the same dimension), you have to :
    * create in your physical layer for each fact table the joins with the dimension
    * create in the Business Model layer ONE star schema with ONE logical fact table containing the columns of your two physical fact table
    In this way when you choose minimal one column of your fact1 and one column of your fact2, OBIEE will perform two query against each fact table/dimension, join them with an OUTER JOIN and your problem will disappear.
    Cheers

  • Timed out error with Fp-2000 while find devices

    When I try to Find Devices in MAX (version 3.1) I get the error "The connection to a remote device timed out". With the File Transfer and the Install Software I don't have the problem. I tried to use a different Workstation, different IP Address but the problem persists. Do you have a solution?
    Vincenzo Pascariello

    Hi,
    the 2 flashes of the Status led are indicating that the software is not properly installed.
    As for the Devices not found problem, I don't think the problem has to do with MAX, FP software or LabVIEW 7.1.
    When devices are not found, generally there is a communication problem.
    This can be possibly due to 2 situations:
    1) There is a bent Pin on one of the FP-TB which is making the Fieldpoint bus not to work properly.
    2) There are network problems. One way to workaround this might be to connect to the FP-2000 using a crossover cable and link directly to the PC. This avoids any network connection problems.
    The last thing you need to take into account is that the FP-2000 module might be damaged and need repair.
    If you are unable to get to a solution, contact NI Tech Support at
    02.41.30.92.17 and ask for support with an Engineer

  • Outer Join with Where Clause in LTS

    HI all,
    I have a requirement like this in ANSI SQL:
    select p1.product_id, p1.product_name, p2.product_group
    from product p1 left outer join product_group p2 on p1.product_id = p2.product_id
    and p2.product_group = 'NEW'
    In Regular SQL:
    select p1.product_id, p1.product_name, p2.product_group
    from product p1, product_group p2
    WHERE p1.product_id *= p2.product_id and p2.product_group = 'NEW'
    In OBIEE, I am using a left outer join between these two in Logical table Source, and also, Gave
    p2.product_group = 'NEW' in WHERE clause of LTS.
    This doesn't seem to solve purpose.
    Do you have any idea how to convert WHERE clause in physical query that OBIEE is generating to something like
    product p1 left outer join product_group p2 on p1.product_id = p2.product_id AND p2.product_group = 'NEW'
    I am using Version 10.1.3.4.1
    Creating an Opaque view would be my last option though.

    Hello
    I have read your post and the responses as well. and I understand that you have issues with the Outer Join with where Clause in LTS.
    Try this solution which worked for me (using your example ) -
    1. In the Physical Layer created a Complex join between PRODUCT and PRODUCT_GROUP tables and use this join relationship :
    PRODUCT.PROD_ID = PRODUCT_GROUP.PROD_ID  AND  PRODUCT_GROUP.GROUP_NAME = 'MECHANICAL'
    2. In the General Tab of PRODUCT table LTS add PRODUCT_GROUP  table and select Join Type as Left Outer Join.
    3. Check Consistency and make sure there are no errors .
    when you run a request you should see the following query generated -
    select distinct T26908.PROD_ID as c1,
         T26908.PROD_NAME as c2,
         T26912.GROUP_NAME as c3
    from
         PRODUCT T26908 left outer join PRODUCT_GROUP T26912 On T26908.PROD_ID = T26912.PROD_ID and T26912.GROUP_NAME = 'MECHANICAL'
    order by c1, c2, c3
    Hope this works for you. If it does please mark this response as 'Correct' .
    Good Luck.

  • IPod Touch 2nd Gen Video Out Problem with Apple Component Cable

    I'm trying to get video out working with my iPod touch connected to my TV. Here's the information.
    32 GB iPod Touch 2nd Gen
    Apple Universal Dock (current version.)
    Apple Component Out cable for iPod (current version that connects with a dock connector.
    I've connected the component cables into the component video input on my TV. When I start playing any video (purchased off iTunes store in Standard Def,) I get a scrambled picture that appears to be the video, and no sound. I purchased the TV in South Korea and haven't gotten to test it yet on a TV back in the US. I have my video out settings with wide screen turned off and set to NTSC (South Korea uses NTSC.) I've also tried every setting combination, and switching the cable connections with the same or similar results. Sorry if a similar problem has been posted elsewhere, but after searching, I couldn't find any similar behavior. Any ideas on what might be the cause? I don't have any other component devices to check if the component on the TV is bad.

    I've got that same problem: iPod Touch 2nd Gen, Apple Component Cables, and an HD TV.
    The funny thing is, the cable works fine with an iPod Classic (160 GB) but not for the iPod Touch. Can anyone explain why that is?

  • In reports, i want to display currency field out put with diff currencies

    Hi all
    in reports, i want to display currency field out put with different type of currencies like 1st record in rupees 2nd record in dolors 3rd record in
    Euros. for this i should not use any tables and any currency fields and any functional modules. pls give replay urgently.

    Hi swamy,
    so sorry, but you have to use some of the objects you do not want to:
    Currency values in ABAP are stored in currency fields (type CURR). If they are stored in structures or database, every CURR field must be connected to a CUKY field (currency key).
    Displaying data using WRITE statement four output on a list is obsolete technique, you may use the use WRITE with the option CURRENCY c to format according to currency c in table TCURX.
    SAP recommends to use ALV technique. If you use ALV to display structure data, then create a dictionary structure with currency value and currency key. The rest goes automatically.
    Believe me: It is much easier and more reliable.

    Clemens

  • How to create fan-out pattern solution in alsb (osb)

    Hello guys,
    I'm trying to create a fan-out pattern solution in ALSB in which I have one proxy service for incoming messages and two outbound business services. All messages are to be forwarded to both business services simultaneous but independent from each other, so whenever business service 1 fails messages are still delivered to business service 2. Like in the following situation:
    messages ---> proxy service ---> routing table:
                                       all messages  ---->  business service 1
                                       all messages  ---->  business service 2However, when I am trying to use the routing table to define the routing, I am not able to route messages to both business services. In the ALSB console I am obliged to define an IF..THEN..ELSE routing rules. IF condition THEN call BS1 ELSE call BS2.
    Can anyone give me a hint how to solve this problem, pls?
    Thanks in advance,
    Harm

    Thanks for the swift reply.
    Can you please elaborate on the expression to use in solution 1? My first solution was similar except I used a routing table without a pipe line instead of a publish table. The cases in the publish table look similar to the cases in a routing table. The difficulty I'm having is that I don't have/want(?) to switch between cases in order to choose the end-point as all end-points must be invoked in each case.
    This is the expression I'm using in the routing/publish table:
    Publish Table ( boolean($body/mynamespace:myrootnode) )
       Case = true()
       Publish to BS1 invoking operation bladibla
       Case = true()
       Publish to BS2 invoking operation tralalaIn words, if the incoming message has a body then route to BS1 and BS2. But this "solution" only invokes BS1, never BS2.
    For the second solution, suppose the first service callout hits an error (time-out, remote server down, network failure, etc), is the second service callout still being invoked succesfully or does the whole pipe line stack fail?
    Thanks in advance.

    Harm

  • SB Xtreme Audio Notebook optical out problem with Home TheaterSystem-HELP!

    JSB Xtreme Audio Notebook optical out problem with Home TheaterSystem-HELP!, I have this sound card connected?(optical OUT) ?to my home?theater system's digital IN ?through the recommended /8in. optical miniplug-to-optical SPDIF cable. Theater system is set correctly to Digital-In mode. I have no sound!
    The cable is a Velocity Toslink-to-Optical Mini Plug digital cable. I don't see any settings in the Creative Console Launcher. The notebook is a Dell XPS M730 (Vista 32).
    I have a PS3, DirecTV, and the SB Xtreme Audio Notebook cable on a hub switch that connects to the system's?one Optical IN. The PS3 and DirecTV sound perfect!
    The sound card works fine with standard PC speakers. I'm at a loss as?to what to try next. I set this whole system up myself, so I'm pretty good at working out the kinks, except this one!
    Karen

    OK. I just went to Control Panel - Sound - Playback - Digital Output Device (SB Xtreme Audio Notebook) - Properties - Advanced. I experimented with different sample rates and bit depths. Clicked the test button and lo and behold - sound from the HTS! I've tried iTunes, PowerDVD (configured to digital output) and YouTube - no sound! Am I missing something really obvious?
    HA! Just backed out to Playback and selected Digital Output Device (SPDIF) and set as Default. Sound is emunating from HTS! Well, that mystery is solved! Who knew.
    Thanks anyway! Any comments or advice will still be appreciated.

    So I recently upgraded my ram to 8GB but so far I haven't seen any improvement. I ran some tests and everything turned out fine with the ram. What should i do?

    What is the problem exactly???
    See if the Disk is issuing any S.M.A.R.T errors in Disk Utility...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH7029
    Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
    How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
    Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
    In the Memory tab of Activity Monitor, are there a lot of Pageouts?

  • Does anyone have an answer yet to this time out thing with the Itunes 9????

    I see so many threads but can't follow through each one. Does anyone have an answer to fix this?
    dawniedoodle

    What time out thing with iTunes 9? You'll get better answers if you give as much detail as possible when asking a question, including any error messages you've received and any trouble shooting steps you've already taken. From your question, it's not at all clear what your problem is.
    Best of luck.

    There is no limit to the number of tables you can outer join as long as you join them correctly.

  • Outer Join with an 'OR'

    I have a very complicated query to construct that requires the use of 'AND', 'OR', and Outer Joins. Oracle's 9i documentation says you can't use an outer join with an 'OR'.
    Can you suggest how I may return the correct records under the following conditions. There are 3 tables to join. Table A, Table B, and Table C. Tables A & B join with an = to common fields. The problem is with Table C.
    The way the application was designed, it has to track a parent and child relationship. As such, the field to relate may exist in 1 of 2 fields. Let's see if I can draw it out for you.
    Table A - Record 1
    (ID = 1)
    Table B - Record 1
    (ID =1 [this relates to Table A.ID]
    PID = 12345
    CID = 67899
    Site = A)
    Table C - Record 1
    (PID = 12345 [this relates to Table B.PID]
    CID = 67899
    Site = A)
    Table C - Record 2
    (PID = 67899 [This relates to Table B.CID]
    CID = 12345
    Site = A)
    Now, I need to relate Table A to Table B where A.ID = B.ID AND
    ((B.PID = C.PID AND B.CID = C.CID)
    OR
    (B.CID = C.PID AND B.PID = C.CID))
    AND
    B.SITE = C.SITE
    There may or may NOT be related records in Table C. That's the problem. This is where I need the outer join to get the all the records of the 1st two joins and only those that apply from the last join.
    Your help will be greatly appreciated.

    I'd create two queries, a join from b to c in each of those manners and then UNION ALL the results together.
    drop table junk_a;
    create table junk_a (
      id number );
    drop table junk_b;
