Fax document through Officejet

I can fax document through my Officejet J6450 from my Window XP computer. I just "Print" the document and there is a choice of "Officejet J6450 fax" to send the fax. I can not do the same with my Windows 8.1 computer. There is a choice of "Fax" but it asks for "Connect to a fax modem" that I don't have or "Connect to a fax server on my network" that I don't  know what it is. Tried all kind of setups but just can not get "Officejet J6450 fax" printer in my Windows 8.1 computer. Just read that "Only one computer can act as the Fax to PC or Fax to Mac administrator computer" (by Provost in the Forum).  If this why, how do I transfer it from my  XP computer to my Windows 8.1 computer? My windows 8.1 computer do record all fax in and fax outs, including those send from my XP computer.

    Unless your iMac has a built-in modem port, you will have to use an external fax modem for direct faxing. Otherwise, you can use an internet fax service such as eFax or FaxZero (US/Can only.)

       But the attachment has only one page .

  • FAX Setup for Officejet 8620 -- Auto Answer & Cord "Fail"

    I have encountered two issues after setting up my new Officejet 8620.
    I have followed instructions for connecting the printer, using the phone cord provided by HP.  Repeated tests insist "FAIL" for "Using Correct Type of Phone Cord with Fax." I have tried hard reset a couple of times with no change in test result.
    The fax is working: I can send and receive faxes, but why the "FAIL"? I see from other forum messages that this is a common issue.
    Second issue is that the Auto Answer is set to "ON," but the fax doesn't answer incoming calls. I get the message on the display screen giving me the options to "Ignore" or "Accept", and pushing "Accept" does result in the fax coming through, but I need the machine's "Auto Answer" function to work. The 8620 is not connected to an answering machine. It's connected directly to the phone wall jack. Also,I have disabled voicemail service on that phone line, so there shouldn't be anything interfering with Auto Answer.
    I would be grateful for help resolving these problems.

    I read your post about the concerns and issues you're running into with your Officejert 8620, and I wanted to reach out to share my suggestions with you.
    I would recommend a factory reset on the printer, and to run through the fax set up again. I am hoping you won't run into the same problems again however, if you do, please give us a call.
    On the printer, select the Setup Menu, Tools, Restore Factory Defaults, Yes, restart the printer.
    When the power is back on select Setup, Fax Setup, Fax Setup Wizard, Yes, continue through the setup.

  • Trying to scan documents through group printer via wifi

    Good Day, I have a Dell laptop Inspiron 17 with Windows 8.1 installed.  I am using the above printer via my husband's computer through a homegroup and wifi.   I have no problem with the printer as it prints from my laptop, but I cannot scan a document through my laptop and have to ask my husband to do this every time through his computer.  When I tried to install the printer directly onto my laptop with the HP disc supplied with the printer it informs me that my computer needs to be updated to allow this. I do not know how to update my laptop to accept this installation, or preferably a way to scan through the homegroup and wifi. Can anyone solve this problem for me please?

    I understand that you're not able to scan from your wirelessly connected HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer to your Windows 8.1 computer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this scanning issue. Because you're utilising the printer over a Homegroup with Wifi it sounds like you may be 'sharing' the printer from your husband's Windows 7 computer. Printer Sharing is a feature of the Windows Operating System. It was primarily used for USB Cable connected printers that do not have the option of being configured over the network. Printer Sharing would allow you to install a printer through a USB Cable on the main (host) computer, and share that connection with multiple other computers. This way, multiple users could have access and print to one USB connected printer. When you have a networked connected printer, like your HP Officejet, it is not necessary to utilise Windows Printer Sharing as your printer can be fully installed on all of the computers. In fact,  if you wish to utilise all features of your printer, especially scanning, you would need to have the printer fully installed on each computer as Printer Sharing does not allow for scanning, only printing. Can I please have you follow the steps below to install your HP Officejet on your Windows 8.1 computer to allow for full printing and scanning ability from your Windows 8.1 computer and your huband's Windows 7 computer.   Step 1: Remove Device: For troubleshooting purposes it is crucial that we have a nice clean slate to work with. Therefore, I am going to have you remove any traces of your HP Officejet from your Windows 8.1 computer prior to installation.  Open your Start screen by selecting the Windows icon on the bottom left of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on the bottom left of your keyboard, to the right of the Ctrl buttonUnder the Start screen type Devices and Printers. Click Devices and Printers to open it.Under the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Officejet. If you see it please right click on it and select 'Remove Device' or 'Delete' Once the printer has been deleted please close Devices and Printers.Please proceed to the next step.  
    Step 2: Clear Temp Files: Open your Start screen by selecting the Windows icon on the bottom left of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on the bottom left of your keyboard, to the right of the Ctrl buttonUnder the Start screen type Run. Click Run to launch the Run dialogue boxIn the Run box type %temp% and click OKWhen the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will now highlight.Select the 'delete' button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains temporary internet files. No actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting the Temp files. Should a Temp file still be used than you will automatically get the pop up to 'skip' that item.Close the Temp folder once it is emptiedRight click the Recycling Bin on your desktop and select Empty Recycling Bin   Step 3: Install Device: Please click here to download the latest drivers for you HP OfficejetOnce the download is complete please click on the download and allow it to 'Run'The installation window should open after a brief extraction Once the installation window opens please follow the onscreen prompts to install your networked device When the installation completes, please test scanning and printing to confirm that your HP Officejet is functioning as per normal on your Windows 8.1 computer.  Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting.     Try to change the Account number and then save or post the data. I think Once We Parking the Document it wont allow to post the data without changing.

    When you are working in ECC 6.0 for the first time you will get this error.  Just go to SPRO search for Document Splitting and deactivate in new G/L
    If OK please assign points !!!!

    when I tick at PA segement button ASSIGNMENT TO
    PROFITABILITY SEGMENT screen opens, DERIVATION
    BUTTON is activated/enabled . But through a custom program when session is

    ASSIGNMENT TO PROFITABILITY SEGMENT screen, DERIVATION BUTTON is not visible. I can only see Continue, Next Page, Delete Assignment, and Cancel buttons. Where do I need to check this problem?

  • Pages (latest ed) doesn't let me share documents through email anymore.

    I updated to the the Mavericks when it was released and updated my copy of Pages along with it. Pages was working flawlessly until yesterday when it was having trouble connecting to my Mail (and hence my Gmail) account. This happened even though I checked the connection and the connection seemed perfectly normal. Earlier today when I went to share a doc through the "Send a Copy" tab and when I scrolled over this I was given two options. Share document through Messages or through AirDrop. The email option had completely vanished! I checked my Mail account's connection to Gmail and everything appeared normal. I disconnected the account and reconnected it to be safe and tried again. Still no "Mail" option. I then deleted my copy of Pages 2013, restarted my comp and redowloaded it. Still no "Mail' option! (I also scanned Pages with 2 different virus detection apps {VirusBarrier Express & ClamXav} and both didn't find a thing wrong with it. Also I ran DiskUtility & that also found nothing wrong.)

    If you try to invent your own syntax, you are starting on very wrong basis.
    The required syntax is defined by the Numbers AppleScript's dictionary.
    This one doesn't know what is a template.
    This is why, in the link posted by badunit, I use an other scheme to create a new document.
    I know that it's awful but it's the only one available at this time.

    There is a programming error somewhere.To get a solution quickly, do as follows:
    1. Turn off all badi's, user exits and whatever you have changed in standard SAP.
    2. Rerun - if it still fails - search in SAP notes for relevant notes
    3. If it doesnt fail - you have an error in your own programming
    4. If you are on relevant Support packages etc, send a message to SAP.

    The message is : Either there is not default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the message request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.
    I have checked everywhere on my system and changed Microsoft Outlook as the default mail program but nothing is helping. Does anyone have any ideas?

    I am having the same issue, just replied to a different post on the issue.  I am running Acrobat X Pro with Win 7 Pro 64-bit.  This is a new PC, but my last PC was a 32-bit OS and I didn't have this issue.  I was suspecting that it is due to the 64-bit OS. 
    Reading this post though, I am starting to wonder if there isn't something else going on.  When I go to Edit>Preferences, I don't have anything related to email under Categories, or even within any of the categories listed.  I am I missing a plug in or something?  Or is this a component of a previous version of Acrobat?
    I tried to attach a screenshot of the error message but getting a new error while trying to attach!  File is only 25kb!  Will have to live without i guess.

    5. Adobe LiveCycle Form Manager 7.2.2
    6. Adobe LiveCycle Workflow - 7.2.2
    7. Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions 7.2.2
    8. Adobe LiveCycle Policy Server 7.2
    We have performed Turnkey installation on all the above mentioned softwares.
    We are facing some issues in viewing the policy documents through Adobe Reader.
    We have created a Policy through the Policy Server. Then using Adobe Acrobat Professional we added this policy to a document.
    But when we try to view the policy added document through Adobe Reader, it is throwing the following error.
    "You are attempting to connect to a policy server using an insecure protocol. The connection attempt has been cancelled. Please contact an administrator for assistance".
    In one of the installation documents of LiveCycle products, it is given that we need to enable the SSL while running the Configuration Manager. But since we have done Turnkey installation the SSL enabling option did not appear in the installation wizard.
    Can someone please let me know how to enable the SSL using Turnkey installation.

    The guide Chris mentioned talks about setting up SSL, but you need to import the certificate into the "trusted root CA" store in Internet Options on every machine which will open the document.<br /><br />You probably have got the SSL set up correctly, but just to emphasise there should be absolutely no warnings what-so-ever in IE when you hit the https://hostname:8443 address -after- closing and reopening the browser, and it should show the Padlock symbol to indicate the SSL is on.  In my experience this means that the first part of the CN must be the exact hostname which you will access the server to avoid the "cert doesn't belong to this host" error which will appear in addition to the "untrusted CA" error.<br /><br />And if you are using the server in production where clients may not have permission to add trusted root CA's then you will need to use a proper SSL certificate.  This guide worked for me:<br /><br />http://blogs.adobe.com/livecycle/2006/10/configuring_jboss_325_with_a_r.html<br /><br />(p.s. I'd recommend NOT using any symbols in the keystore password, or you may have to change it to get it running with JBoss)<br /><br />______________________<br /><br />Once you are absolutely sure the SSL is spot on, this is the step which you may have missed:<br /><br />On the Policy Server administration panel, go to "Configuration" -> "Server Configuration", then update the base url.  It should look like:<br /><br />https://<cn_on_ssl_cert>:8443<br /><br />Once you've updated that address, you will need to reapply any policies, since the server address is stored in the PDF document itself.  Don't forget to update the policy server address in Acrobat too.<br /><br />Hope that helps,<br /><br />Robert

    We are integrating CRM 2013 Online with SharePoint 2013 Online. We have installed the CRM List Component solution. We have also modified the SharePoint master page to permit display of SharePoint content in iframes. We can view SharePoint documents within
    CRM using Internet Explorer after setting the Documents link for an opportunity to point to a document set in SharePoint. However we cannot view documents through the CRM Outlook Connector. We receive the error that "This content cannot be displayed in
    a frame".
    We have tried adding *.sharepoint.com, *.dynamics.com, and *.microsoftonline.com to IE's Trusted Zone with no effect.
    The application launched by the Outlook Connector is called Microsoft.Crm.Application.Outlook.WebFormsHost and it's my understanding that it uses the IE engine to render online content.
    Is there anyway to view SharePoint content embdedded in CRM via an iframe with the Outlook Connector?

    I have the same problem here.
    The integration works fine outside of Outlook, but if, for example, an account is opened within CRM for Outlook the error occurs.
    - No masterpage modification
    - Some security setting in IE 11 (perhaps IE 11 is the problem)
    - Installed the solution in the used site collection
    - Configured CRM settings

    First some tests, try to change the value with transacions FB02 or FB09, if you cannot that may come from the Field Status Group associated with the account and posting keys.
    - FS03 to find Field Status Group of the account
    - SPRO then Financial Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, Business Transactions, Carry Out and Check Document Settings, Maintain Field Status Variants to find Field Status Group definition  (or SM34 on view cluster V_T004V)
