Faxing Error code 49.0039

We just purchased two HP 1536 all in one printers. We are only using them to print & fax out items.
On both machines we intermittingly get an error code 49.0039 which restores all the fax settings to its default.
Does anyone have a solution?

Welcome to the HP Forums fiauto,
I read your post which indicates that you are getting a "49 error".
I can help you with this.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector)
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
This error usually is caused by too many documents sent at once.
You can set the Archive print to on from the printer to see if that will help.
Go to setup, service, archive print and turn it on.
I have provided a document to clear out the print spool folder on each computer if the printer is networked, to see if it will help resolve this issue. How to Clear Current Print Queue In Windows Vista & Windows 7.
Test the printer again.
If the issue persists, update the printer's firmware. HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf Multifunction Printer Drivers.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet)

Have a wonderful day!

  • FAX Error Codes 349 and 351

    I try to fax my daughter in Florida which is area code 941 and I live in area code 580 (Okla) and I constantly get
    Error Codes 349 and 351.  I called her numerous times and she is receiving faxes frin all over the country with no problem.  Why can't HP find this problem and help me resolve it.    I was on the phone over 4 ours with a tech rep and she was unable to resolve it and said she would refer it to her case manager who would not be able to fix it, but would call me sometime on Monday.  This is a ridiculous situation.  I can send faxes locally with no problem.  I have a fiber optics telephone connection.  Does anyone have a possible solution.  I am really fed up with HP and having to try to explain situations to someone in a foreign country where everything I say has to be repeated back to me takiing up more time.

    Hi nmcclell,
    I am sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue. I am sure after spending 4 hours on the phone with HP tech support the last thing you want to do it more troubleshooting but I have some information specific to those error codes if your interested. In the unlikely event that maybe something was missed here is the definition and solution for error code 349 and 351.
    Error Code: 344, 345, 346, 347, 348, 349 ECM, 350 ECM, 351 ECM, 352 ECM, 353 ECM, 354, 355
    Definitions
    The remote machine failed to respond to a fax command from the local machine because the connection was interrupted. These errors can occur if the phone lines in the area to be faxed are old or there is noise (static on the phone line). Other reasons can include power outages and other power-related problems.
    The call-waiting service can cause this error. The click, heard for an incoming call, is actually a momentary disconnect of the line.
    The remote user pressed the Stop key while the reception was in progress.
    Under rare conditions, incompatibility between the two machines might cause the remote machine to abandon the call.
    Solutions
    Retryt the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve.
    Disable ECM. Errors might still occur, and might result in a degraded image quality on the received page. However, the ability to send the entire document will be improved.
    Try sending at a lower transmission speed
    Here is a helpful link for Troubleshooting Fax Transmission and Reception Issues.
    I hope this helps. I understand if you are not interested in more troubleshooting but thank you for taking the time to reach out to the HP Forums. We are here to help.
    Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.

  • Fax Errors - what do they mean?

    I have an HP 6500 officejet, and keep getting fax errors, 344 & 346. What do they mean??

    Hello GSBUSA,
    Here's a document on how to interpret different fax error codes:
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=buu02549
    First thing I suggest that you do is to disconnect all other devices from the phone line the fax is connected to and only have that connected and also to test different numbers to see if you get the same error message regardless of where you send the fax. If you get the same error even then I would suggest that you lower the fax speed. You can do this in the Advanced Fax Setup in the Setup menu of the printer.

  • Receiving an error code 344 when faxing.

    How do I resolve a fax error 344?  I have sent to this address before and it has worked fine but now I receve the error.  I am using an Officejet 6500A.Thanks for your assistance.

    Hi decisions13, The error code means that The remote machine has failed to respond to a fax command from the local machine because the connection is interrupted. If you've successfully sent faxes to this number before, then you can reattempt the fax transmission at a different time when line condition have improved. You can also run a fax test from your printer and check if all tests pass. A line test can also be run by your telephone company to ensure stable fax line conditions. You can also disable Error Correction Mode by Setup menu (on printer) > Fax Setup > Advanced Fax Setup > Error Correction Mode > Off. Hope this works for you!

  • Access denied in my code - Error code:-2147467259

    Hi there,
    I'm a newbie with CR server technology. I installed yesterday a CR XI trial on my system to do a PoC for a customer who already uses CR. He gave me a rpt file to use in my program.
    I'm developing a program where the report is prepared as PDF and then sent by email and fax to certain receivers. I'm in the middle of the work now. Here a first look at my code:
    URL url = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().getResource(
    "rpt/1442_11791_OrdersbyVault_OrderA4.crystal9_v4_alg.rpt");
    ReportClientDocument clientDoc = new ReportClientDocument();
    clientDoc.setReportAppServer("localhost");
    String file = new File(url.getFile()).toString();
    // Open report
    clientDoc.open(file, 0);
    This code is inside a EJB session bean which should provide the report later as byte[] to another bean which will send it.
    When I execute the bean it usually fails with this exception:

  • Laserjet M1536dnf fax error report - result-Line Surge(2)

    We use HP LaserJet MFP as stand alone fax machines. Earlier this week, the one that had been in service for 6 years would not receive nor send a fax. All other functions worked well. The replacement the M1536dnf, will send and receive faxes but after a few attempts. The two errors that have been coming up are Line Surge(2) and Comm Error 232. When I dial our fax number with my phone I can hear static on the line at times.
    After replacing all the patch cables that are connected to this line (fax and postage machine are on this line), nothing has changed.
    I am thinking the telco has made changes which is now giving us these errors.
    Any other ideas what to check for or what the Line Surge error may mean?

    Hi @benamen,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
    I see that your Laserjet M1536dnf will not send and receive faxes. I am sorry to hear this, but I am happy to help!
    I would recommend to go through these guides, to verify everything is connected properly:
    Cannot Send or Receive Faxes.
    Troubleshooting Fax Issues.
    According to this guide, Interpreting Error Codes in Fax Communication Error or Fax History Reports.
    Error Code: 232, 233, 234, 235 ECM, 236 ECM, 237
    Definitions
    A communication failure occurred between the two machines.
    The user at the remote machine might have pressed the Stop key.
    The call waiting service can cause this error. The click, heard for an incoming call, is actually a momentary disconnect of the line. Do not use call waiting on a line with a fax machine.
    The power at the remote machine was interrupted, or deliberately turned off causing the fax session to be interrupted.
    Solutions
    If the error persists, and error correction is in use for the fax session, disable ECM. Fax quality might be degraded.
    Set the host machine to receive at a slower transmission speed.
    Retry the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve. These errors can occur if the phone lines in the area to be faxed are old or there is noise (static on the phone line). Other reasons can include power brownouts and other power-related problems.
    After reading this information, and verifying the connection is setup properly, I would definitely consider contacting your phone provider.
    Hope this helps!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8610 - Error Code: " 0xc19a0013" (missing or failed printhead)

    I purchased the printer (HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-one printer) in January, 2015.  The printer functioned properly - copy, fax, and scan, until two days ago.  Now, it does not print at all.  Received an error code: "0xc19a0013" (Missing or Failed Printhead).  An expanded version of the error code reads:  "The Printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed.  Error Code: 0xc19a0013.   The printer uses a removable printhead, HP Ink Cartridges 950 (black) and  951(cmy).  I have used HP Support Troubleshooting recommendations: all software and firmware for this printer is installed; the HP ink cartridges are not low or empty; removed the ink cartridges from the printhead and reinstalled them.
    There are multible steps in the troubleshooting recommendation, but I stopped at removing the printhead.  Because of my technical inexperience, and there were too many ceveats (beware, caution, proper reinstallation, and etc.)  with removing the printhead that could cause greater problems.  So, I stopped at removing and cleaning the printhead.  Also, used the HP Printer Scan Doctor for assistance. The tool for cleaning the printhead doesn't work.   What troubles me most with the 0xc19a0013 error code is its explanation: The printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed.  I can use all the help I can get to understand what is going on with the error code that I have received, and how to resolve the malfunctioning printer.

  • 0x61011bed error code

    Error code 0x6011bed appears after the printer completes a print and to enable the printer to print again requires many button pushes on the message display of  "OK."   I have powered down the Officejet 7500,  unplugged the power, waited a minute,  removed and reinstalled the ink tanks and the printhead, vacuumed and blew away visible dust but still can't make the error go away for very long, with the error code usually returning after any print job (print or receipt of a fax). What additional step or cleaning need I perform to get more that a single print job after the error code clears? Additional observation: If the print job is multiple pages, once started the Officejet 7500 completes the task but getting is started after the error code appears is the problem.

    Hello , I understand that you're getting the message '0x6011bed' on the front panel of your HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format e-All-in-One Printer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this issue. Thank you for including all of the troubleshooting steps that you have attempted prior to reaching out for support. Now, there are different variations of '0x' error codes. Some error codes indicate print system failures within your printer. Others may indicate a Firmware Programming issue within your printer. For the error code that you're seeing, you may also see an additional message on the display of your printer that may alter what troubleshooting steps need to be completed. Therefore, I am going to provide you with the two methods of troubleshooting the '0x' error code you're seeing. Please just follow the steps below that match the exact error code message that you're seeing.   (1) The 0x6011bed error code or message includes the words 'Problem With Printhead,' 'Printer Failure,' or 'Ink System Failure':  If you see one of these messages with the 0x code on the printer, can you please click here to access the appropriate troubleshooting steps. Once the support document opens please follow the steps under Step 1, Step 3, Step 4, Step 5, Step 6, and Step 7. Should the error code persist once troubleshooting is complete a replacement Printhead will likely be needed. The Printhead is the part that the cartridges fit into. It controls 'reading' the cartridges and putting ink on the pages. If the Printhead is defective, then the print system within your product is defective.    (2) The 0x6011bed error code does not include the words 'Problem With Printhead,' 'Printer Failure,' or 'Ink System Failure':  If you see just a 0x error code on your printer, and no additional messages, then it is likely that your printer is experiencing a Firmware issue. Troubleshooting steps for this error are limited. Please click here to access the appropriate support document. Once the support document opens you will notice that there is only Step 1 that you can complete. This step would be the Power Reset, which you have already completed. Should the Reset fail to resolve the error code then a replacement printer would be needed.  Should you require a replacement I would suggest that you reach out to our Technical Support queue by phone to explore hardware replacement options.  HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:
    HP Contact Support
    (1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number (C9309A) on the right.
    (2) Choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.
    (3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.
    (4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.  Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you. Good luck!

  • Error code 242 on Office jet 8600

    Office Jet 8600 quite accepting fax's. Error code 242, but fax test show all connections are good.

    Hi @Skylek
    According to the following document, error 242 means the remote fax machine is attempting to receive instead of send. Both machines have attempted to start a reception at the same time. On many fax machines, it is possible to accidentally initiate a fax reception in the following cases:
    There is no paper in the machine.
    The paper is not correctly loaded and the document sensor cannot sense it.
    Interpreting Error Codes in Fax Communication Error or Fax History Reports
    Recommended Solution:
    Contact the sender to make sure that a document is ready and correctly loaded in the sending fax machine. Also make sure that the remote machine is attempting to initiate a transmission and not a reception.
    I hope this helps.

  • Canon MX860 repeats B200 error code -- brought it back to store , they couldn't fix it.

    Canon MX860 has error code B200, have cleaned and removed printer head
    code still blinks.

    Ref my MX860. So... I did NOT wash head or anything. I opened cover, shoved print head manually to left all the way. Rapidly pushed "on" button a bunch of times until unit beeped back at me with funny sounds and went completely dead... Well, before throwing out the second story window, I then rapidly, pushed "on" 5 or 6 times and noticed the print head moved to the right. I shut the deck and waited... and waited... the 'infamous' Canon 'I'm gonna print, no wait, wait, really, I am, in a minute, wait, wait, listen to my sweet sounds, wait, I'm fixin' to, wait". And then it happened! Everything got real quiet and my LCD screen popped up, looking totally normal. So far, it prints, copies and will send a fax. Try it, sure won't hurt, and it seems to have fixed mine :-)
