Faxing With A Calling Card

We don't have a long-distance carrier but make long distance calls via calling card. To send a long-distance fax, then, requires (1) a ten-digit call, (2) long pause, (3) multi-digit calling card number, (4) long pause, and (5) nine-digit called number. How can this be done?
thanks

Never mind. I got it in another forum. In the address book, enter the 800 number, comma, card number, comma, and distination number. Each comma is a one-second pause. I assume, but haven't tried it, that the destination number could be entered on a handset if it is not often faxed.

  • Calling Card Problem: "Disconnected. Could not acquire credentials. The Rescue Gateway..."

Surely I cannot be the only LogMeInRescue customer experiencing the following issue with their Calling Cards failing to allow them to connect to their client computers.  Ever since July of 2014, I experience this problem multiple times a week when trying to connect to client's computers who have had my Calling Card pre-installed on their computer. THE ERROR MESSAGEThe Calling Card displays the following message on the client's computer after they click on the Connect button:"Disconnected. Could not acquire credentials. The Rescue Gateway has refused the connection with the following message: Channel does not exist. It may have been recently deleted or modified." Here is a Screenshot that I posted on my website: http://www.pcgraphix.com/generator/assets/callingcard-disconnected_couldnotacquire.gif WHY THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR ME-I have my calling card installed on HUNDREDS of computers and any delays in getting connected to a client computer costs me $.   This has been a particularly major problem from me as I support people with very limited computer skills. The simple task of instructing them to go to logmein123.com and entering a 6 digit pin can LITERALLY take 15-30 minutes of my unbillable time! This can occur several times a day resulting in me me eating 1-2 hours of my time just trying to get connected to a client's computer! WHAT I HAVE DONE-I have called LogMeIn Tech support multiple times but they just seem to blow me off.  When I first began calling support back in August 2014, they claimed they had never seen the problem.  So I had them remote into computers that showed this calling card error.  They gathered information and told me they would look into it.  Well, 7 months later I still have this same recurring problem and they've never gotten back to me.  So I continue to call them and complain.  Recently, they finally admitted that it is a recognized issue but only affects a very small number of their customers and that they don't yet have a solution.  So I'm reaching out to the community to see if anyone else is experiencing this problem. WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED/OBSERVED-I've been using LogMeIn Rescue since 2006 without any issues until July 2014. I believe the problem began on 7/16/14 when I generated a new calling card msi file (note that I have since generated new calling card msi files but the issue continues).  About a month later (Aug 2014), I had experienced enough calling card issues that I began calling Logmein support for help. -This calling card issue occurs randomly and with different clients and with different Windows versions.  -Once the problem occurs, the only fix is to completely uninstall my calling card from my client's computer and then re-installing the calling card using the msi file that I generated from my LogMeIn Rescue admin panel.  Simply re-installing the calling card doesn't fix the problem...it must first be uninstalled and then re-installed. -The calling card can work fine on a client's computer on one day but then a day later it can fail to connect. -Some client's haven't experienced this problem at all.  Some client's have experienced this problem on multiple occassions requiring that I do an uninstall/reinstall. -The issue has NEVER occurred when I first install my calling card.  -I have noticed that if the calling card checks for and installs an update, the issue will often times occur. Therefore I believe it has something to do with the update that LogMeIn automatically pushes to the calling card.  I instruct my clients to hit cancel if an update is available BUT oftens times they have already installed it. -I have generated new calling card msi files from my admin interface but this hasn't prevented the issue from occurring -

Glad to hear from someone else having this same problem!  Supposedly there are a just a handful of us having this problem so I fear that LogMeIn developers aren't putting alot of effort into resolving this issue.   I got hit first thing this morning on my first remote of the day with this assinine error message.  It has happened several times in the past on this same customer's computer. It will work fine just after re-installing the calling card but then a week or so down the road it will fail again when I try to remote in.   So **bleep** aggravating.  So tired of eating hours every week walking customers through alternative ways of getting connected.  When I say to customer, "ok, go to www.logmein123.com" and they reply "how do I do that" and I tell them to open their internet browser and all I get is dead silence....I know I'm about to eat more unbillable time! Bill

    Hi,
Just wanted to know if there is a way to add a calling card number passcode and than be able to dial the contact number. Previously I had the razr and nokia n8o and never had any issues, one way was to use the calling card number as a contact and than use touh tone to select a contact to call to send the number as tone and the other way was to add the whole number, calling card+ passcode+ contactno with pauses.
it seems i cant no niether with the iphone. is there any ideas or suggestions.

I finally got the printer set up to my wireless router and am able to fax and receive calls but now I can't send a fax.
I have a bundled service phone, internet and cabl;e with voice mail.
I have reduced the number of rings to 2 and turned off automatic answer.  ready to pull my hair out!!
HP tech service was no help and neither was the cable company.  Got this far on my own but hit a wall!
    any thoughts?

Hello @mull274 , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are running into fax issues.  I would like to help.
I would recommend performing a power reset on the printer.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend this document on Fax Sending Fails Intermittently.

  • Problems with Fujifilm XD cards

    Hi everyone!
I recently moved to my first Mac, and have been slowly introducing various peripherals, including my much-loved Fujifilm F30 camera.
While I haven't had many problems with the changeover, the F30 is proving a major stumbling point. Could anyone help me figure out how to negotiate this? I'd be really grateful for any help!
In short, when I use my MBP to delete photos from my XD card, it deletes the files happily. However, when I then insert the same XD card into my camera, it tells me that the card is full, and I cannot take any more photos.
Basically, I think I have compatability issues with the XD card and the MPB.
    Longer version:
    1) If I connect the F30 camera directly to my MBP, using the provided cable, the computer doesn't recognise it at all. It's not simply a case of not being able to read the files, or copy them across - it doesn't recognised that there is any camera attached. As it happens, my brother has the same camera, so I tried borrowing his cable (in case mine had become faulty). Same problem.
I checked the Fuji website, and I shouldn't need any drivers (I'm using OSX, 10.5.6).
I have never had any trouble with either cable or camera with previous laptop, and it still transfers happily to PCs. In other words, I don't think the camera is faulty. It seemed like some kind of compatability issue, but it was a real mystery.
    2) I bought a USB card reader, to see if this would help. This is the beastie I chose:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujifilm-USB-XD-Card-Reader/dp/B00172017W/ref=cmcr_pr_product_tophttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujifilm-USB-XD-Card-Reader/dp/B0017201 7W/ref=cm_cr_pr_producttop
At first: triumph! MPB immediately detected the USB, and I could transfer the photos on my XD card easily to my hard-drive. No problem opening or manipulating the files, either - I've been playing with them on Picasa, and all is well with the .jpgs - no corruptions that I can see.
However, when I try to delete the photos from my XD card, something goes awry.
I had transferred the .jpgs in question to my hard-drive, then returned to the USB to delete the original files. This seemed straighforward, and was easily done (with the files moved to trash). But - here's the weirdness - when I insert the XD card to my camera:
    a) the files are gone (hurray!)
    b) there is no free space.
In other words, having deleted all the files on my 512MB XD card, the camera told me that my XD card was full.
I used the camera's own buttons to review the XD card - i.e. inserted the XD card into the F30, and pressed 'play' to open up the memory. There was nothing there. The camera could not show me any photographs.
So I now have the very strange situation of:
    - having no photographs on the XD memory
    - being told that the card is full, and I cannot take any more photos.
    Help?!
    Some more info:
As it happens, I have a second XD card, a 1GB XD. I tried an experiment. I noted how many photographs were left on the card: 63 shots.
I inserted the card into my USB card reader, deleted c.20 photographs already backed up elsewhere, and reinserted the XD card into my camera.
There were still only 63 shots left.
I used the camera's own interface to delete a shot. Remaining space: 64 shots.
In other words, only those files deleted by my Mac are affected.
Why not just use the camera to delete files, then? Well, in the short-term, it doesn't help my poor, borked 512MB XD card. I have no files to delete, and so I can't convince my camera that there is, in fact, room. Any files I deleted seems to be dead space now, with no clear way to retrieve it.
In the long-term, though, this is troubling. Yes, I could buy more XD cards (which aren't cheap, but let's just go with this). I could decide that the 512 MB card is now dead, and the 1GB card somewhat damaged. I could restrict myself to only delete photos on the F30 itself.
However, this is a major disappointment, and very frustrating. I take hundreds of photos, and to go through them one by one, pressing 'delete, ok' for each of them in turn would be hugely time intensive (and draining on battery power, while travelling).
I would dearly love to find a way to do negotiate this - any ideas? It feels like this is a formatting issue, but I don't know for sure. Has anyone else used an F30 with their Mac? Any solutions?

Short answer: Empty the trash with the card reader connected to your Mac.
Longer answer: Deleting files is a two-step process - move the file(s) to the trash, then Empty the trash (Finder > File menu) to free up the space. The 'deleted' files are stored in an invisible folder (called .Trashes) at the root level of the drive/card the files were deleted from. Since the folder is invisible and the pics in it are not in the 'normal' file structure the camera expects, the camera does not see them. If you eject/unmount the drive, those files are not deleted. You must empty the trash with the drive/card connected. One thing you may note - if you have an empty trash can icon in the dock (i.e., you've emptied the trash without the card reader connected), then you connect the card reader with your 'borked' card, the trash can icon will change to a full trash can.
As a side note, I have a couple of Olympus cameras that use xD cards, I have some Olympus-branded and some Fuji-branded cards, up to 2 GB - all the cards work just fine with my MBP; I rarely connect the camera itself (can't even remember the last time) but I have used USB readers and now an ExpressCard reader.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.

  • Please! Help me with my SIM card problem!

When I first bought the Blackberry Flip 8220, I was constantly having a problem with my SIM card and the signals. My signal would constantly drop down to none and would go into SOS mode. Not only that, but it would also say either "SIM Card Error,""Invalid SIM Card," or "Insert SIM Card." So, the RIM sent me a new replacement for the cellphone. For the first few days, it worked just fine but, as the time passed by, the phone started to have the similar problem. What's worse is that as the time passed, the more problem started to show up! Now, my side buttons aren't functioning and the rate of my phone experiencing the problem with the SIM card and the signals, similar to the ones mentions above, has risen drastically. For now, the side buttons aren't my priority but what I would like to find out is how come my phone is experiencing such problem with the SIM card and how I can fix it. Please, help me! Due to this problem, I can't even receive the international calls.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
I don't believe that RIM issues SIMs...the carriers issue the SIM cards since these activate your phone on their network. RIM doesn't care what network you use...but the carriers do
So, what I'd suggest is that you go see your carrier and find out what's going on with the bad SIM. It is also possible that the device itself has a problem with the SIM card contacts...in which case the advice is the same, your carrier provides your service, so going to see them is the right thing to do.
Good luck and let us know how it goes!

  • Contact names not showing with incoming calls!!!

    Hi all,
I just got my E71-1 yesterday and upgraded from a very effiecient E61i....everything was going smooth until all of a sudden, contact names stopped appearing with incoming calls and SMS's.
I went through the forums searching for a solutions and apparently alot of people experienced the same thing.....except in my case, I do not have any duplicate names or numbers!!!!
Any ideas what could solve this???

There is a fix for it but you won't like it. I have tried it a few times and it always works but it involves a lot of work. This is what you do.
    1. Make a backup of nothing else but your contacts only.
    2. Delete all your contacts from both phone and sim card.
    3. Start by entering the troublesome contacts from scratch making sure not to duplicate any numbers.
    4. Now get those people to ring you to make sure that your CLI is working fine.
    5. If it works then start entering the rest of the numbers, once again making sure there is no duplication whatsoever.
    6. If it doesn't work, just restore the backup you made of your contacts.
I am fairly sure it will work, but just in case it doesn't you can always restore your backup and you are back to square one.

  • "There is a problem with the SIM card in your iPhone"

I'm getting this error when I try to activate my new iPhone 4 through iTunes:
"*There is a problem with the SIM card in your iPhone.*
To activate your iPhone with this account, you will need a new, unactivated SIM card. Please use the SIM card that was provided with your new iPhone. If you are using the new SIM card, and are unable to complete activation, you can go to an Apple Retail Store or an AT&T company owned retail store to request an unactivated SIM. If you would prefer to have a replacement SIM card sent to you via overnight mail, please call us at 1-800-MY-APPLE. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused."
Now I've already been to AT&T and nothing they could do with the account settings would work, in fact they had never seen the issue before. They gave me a new SIM card and that did nothing as well. Finally they tried out a different SIM tray, and that still didn't work. I have a Genius Bar appointment at the Apple Store tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. Do you think that the SIM reader inside the iPhone 4 is broken?

I solved a problem I had with activating my iPhone although the error message was different from yours.
I got the message "There is something wrong with your iPhone and it cannot be activated, please bring it to your nearest Apple service".
Via a Chinese forum I found out its the SIM card witch is the problem. If the serial number of the SIM has a "letter" in it it won't work. If only numbers it will work.
I now tried it with 2 SIM cards with letters and got the message over and over again. Than tried with my only numbers SIM card and it activated instantly.

  • Set up prepaid calling card for international calls?

I have a prepaid calling card that I use for calling international. The way it works is that I have to call a 866 number, followed by entering a 10 digit code, and then proceed to calling the actual number (with international prefix codes). Is there a way to set this up as international call default so that I do not have to modify all my international contact's phone numbers to include this procedure?
    Thanks.

maybe I need some more modern card, something with atheros chipset ...

  • AAA Radius Authentication for Calling Card Platform

    Hi,
I am using AS5350 and I am using it for calling card application using Clear Box as my RADIUS Server for AAA. My question now, how would I know if cisco is sending the dtmf for "enter card number.au" on the RADIUS server ? Does the card number included on the VSA ? below are my configurations and the debug info. The problem here is that the card number that I entered doesn't able to match against the configuration on my Clear Box/SQL Database. I want to know what should I expect from CiscoAS5350 to send a vsa for enter_card_number ?

VSAs are collected by the RADIUS server during the accounting process when AAA is configured with the Debit Card feature. Data items are collected for each call leg created on the gateway. A call leg is the internal representation of a connection on the gateway. Each call made through the gateway consists of two call legs: incoming and outgoing. The call leg information emitted by the gateways can be correlated by the connection ID, which is the same for all call legs of a connection.
Use the H.323 VSA method of accounting when configuring the AAA application.
    There are two modes:
    •Overloaded Session-ID
Use the gw-accounting h323 syslog command to configure this mode.
    •VSA
Use the gw-accounting h323 vsa command to configure this mode.
