FC req copy into Simulation version

Hi,
Having an interesting problem at the moment, we have PIR's created in ECC that are then reprisented by FC Req's in APO, so all is as expected.
The issue that I am having is that if I copy the active version for a simulation version the FC Req's are being shown as Dep demand!!
Have I missed something on the copy back process?
Plus I have noticed that if for example the FC Req is for 10 in the active version not only does it change the element type but also splits the order down (as if rounding was being used) so I end up with 5 dependent demands of 2.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
1)For forecast coming as Dep demand, check whether the
ATP categories, category groups are transferred
correctly from active to simulation version.
2) Check the logs of copy version jobs which will give
some insight to you to act accordingly
3) For splitting of demand, check whether the lot size,
product split etc., are maintained accordingly and
transferred correctly

  • Simulation version

    Hi,
On simulation i have two questions
    1. What is the significance of simulation profile. Is it required to be assigned for the project (Through project profile) before carrying out the simulation?
2.I am trying to create simulation version in CJV4 for the project. I have created the simulation profile and assigned it to my project profile. But when i try to create the simulation version i am getting the following error
"When you want to run a report that uses the PSJ logical database, module pools are generated for runtime optimization and memory optimization. This module pool cannot be generated since therew is an error in the logical database. This error can only occur, if the SAPDBPSJ program was changed during the runtime of your prrogram".
Can any body help me in this?
    Rajesh

    Hi,
Simulation profile is not mandatory. The profile controls what texts get copied from operative project to simulation. If you dont give this profile, all texts get copied into simulation.
I would be able to help if you tell me the error message number. I hope it is not dump. In that case goto ST22 and let me know the details.

  • How to compare the simulation version

    Dear Experts,
For Operative Projects we can create Simulation Versions (CJV1 / CJV4) & Project Version (CN72).
We can compare different Project Versions with Operative Project (S_ALR_87013539 / 38).
Similarly can we compare Simulation version with Operative Project?
OR can we see plan cost report for simulation version?
    Please guide.
    Rajesh

    Hi,
Simulation versions are not meant for comparison purpose. You can use Project versions for that, which are snapshots of project at that point of time.
Simulation versions can be used to analyse 'what-if' conditions and for quotation ie pre-order analysis. Before receipt of sales order, you can create simulation project and do cost planning for quotation purpose. After receipt of sales order, this project can be made operative. In case of loss of project, you can delete simulation.
Another case can be during execution you want to check "what happens if" kind of conditions. you can transfer operative project to simulation version, simulate reqd condition. If results are desirable, you can copy the simulation version onto current project or alternatively delete simulation.

  • We need to copy planning..etc from simulation version 002 to version 000,

    Hi experts,
Our simulation Version is 002 and Active Version is 000
We need to copy planning..etc  from version 002 to version 000, how to do. Explain me  elaborate

    Hi Moon,
There are two things in Copy Version Management.
    1) Copy the master and transaction data from active to simulation version.
Transaction - /SAPAPO/VERCOP in this you can not copy from Simulation to Active.
    2) Merge the Planning Versions.
Transaction - /SAPAPO/VERMER in which you can copy the planning area keyfigures from simulation version to Active Version.

  • BAPI_SLSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI2 not supported for simulation versions?

    Hi all,
Bapi BAPI_SLSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI2 is not supported for simulation versions, do you know any other way to create sales orders in simulation versions, except from copying the active version into a simulation version?
    Kind regards,
    Stefan Hemeryck

Thnks a lot for your answer Siva.
But this function module is not triggering the forecast consumption in the version.
Do you know how to trigger forecast consumption for the simulation version?
    Kind regards,

I recently had some 8mm film transferred to DVD. I am trying to edit the film clips using Premier Elements 4.0. so I can reburn the films on a single BluRay disc. Some of the film clips copy into the project but others don't. I tried copying the VOB filed onto my hard drive and then changing the file extensions on the VOB files to MPEG but this was no help. Some of the VOB files contain numerous film clips but my software does not appear to be able to recognize them as such. I need to know if replacing my old Premier Elements with the new Version 13 would solve this problem or not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    What do you have now.....
What computer operating system do you have?
We can go into the finer points of source and your intentions, but for now it would appear that you are using SD 4:3 source media to get to a HD 16:9 result. Lots to discuss in this regard.
What was given to you on the DVD disc? DVD-VIDEO 4:3 or something else?
If DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, you should expect to find on the disc a folder named VIDEO_TS. That is your target for your video files.
If you were given a DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, then all you want from it are the video files, specifically
VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, and so on through that series until possibly getting to
VTS_02_1.VOB, and so on. How many files you have beyond the VTS_01_1.VOB file will depend on the size of the DVD-VIDEO.
Does the above scenario apply to you?
The alternative might be someone giving a DVD disc (data disc) which contains just the VTS files mentioned which were copied from
the VIDEO_TS Folder. So, you do not get the whole VIDEO_TS Folder, just the essential video files. Does this scenario apply to you.
I see no need to replace your Premiere Elements 4 with a later version unless you have a huge project and need a later version that will be a 64 bit application running specifically on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit computer.
Consider...Premiere Elements 4 and if you have DVD-VIDEO on DVD....
    1. Place the DVD disc in the burner tray
    2. Open Premiere Elements 4 and set the project preset for NTSC DV Standard (assuming you are working in a NTSC setup)
    3. Go to
    Get Media
"DVD, Digital Camera, Mobile Phone, Hard Drive Camcorder, Card Reader"
"Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader" and its Advanced dialog.
Set the Source in the latter dialog for the drive which has your DVD disc inserted in its tray
You should see your VTS_01_1.VOB thumbnail in the "Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader" Advanced dialog.
With this VOB selected, click on Get Media to get the file from there into the project.
    Should work fine.
Complications may be involved if the people who processed your footage gave you something other what is described above.
Please review and consider, and then we can plan our project strategy accordingly.
    Thank you.

  • Simulation version Error - Message no. C2323

    Dear Experts,
I'm trying to create simulation version from operative project.
I'm getting the following error even though I have maintained settlement rule.
Settlement rule contains errors and has not been saved
    Message no. C2323
    Diagnosis
You use a strategy and/or default rule to automatically determine settlement rules for orders/networks.
The system has determined a settlement rule for NWA #46 according to the defined strategy and/or default rule. However, when checking this settlement rule, an error appeared.
This error may occur, for example, when you want to create a settlement rule for the superior WBS element, because due to a user status on the WBS element, this is not allowed.
    System Response
The settlement rule is not saved due to the error.
    Procedure
Maintain the settlement rule manually for NWA #46, and check the strategy and/or default rule used.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    VINOD.V

below is the settlement strategy parameter for network
    Manual maintenance of settlement rule
1   Automatic generation of settlement rule
2   Generate settlement to WBS element
3   Copy settlement rule of the WBS element
4   Copy settlement rule of the project definition
    5   No settlement rule
    then assign strategy to PSP/PS1
assign network settlement profile to network type as zps1,2,3,4&5
so just configure the strategy according to suitability then run simulation.

  • KP98 - Actual Prices do Not copy to plan version

    Hi everyone,
I'm attempting to do a KP98, so that I can have a copy of  my actuals in my plan version. The transaction works fine in copying everything I selected, however when I check my activity prices using for example Tcode KSBT, it does not show me me any prices for my activities.
In other words my activity quantities are successfully copied into my plan version, but NOT the prices.
In version '000' prices exist, but not in my plan versio '100'. Any ideas?
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks.
Edited by: Ehab Mansour on Jun 23, 2009 10:22 AM

    Hi Ramesh,
So if I understand you correctly:
Even after setting the "Price" and "Activity Qty" flag in KP98, it doesn't actually copy the price from version 000 to my plan version 100. I still have to run KSPI to get my price posted in my version 100?
If that's what I understand correctly............... then what's the benefit of setting the "Price" flag in KP98? That's what I'm trying to understand.
Of course if I change my planned values then I have to run KSPI again to calculate the new price.
But if I just do a KP98, WITHOUT making any changes to my planning in version 100, should KP98 just copy the prices from my actuals, and I would only need to run KSPI again only if I make changes to my planning dollars?

  • Handle a Simulation Version in Background

    Hi Experts,
we would like to modify some block data (in Heuristic fo Block maintenance) for a specified ressource BUT in a simulation version.
To be more specific, when we go on /sapapo/cdpss0  and select a simulation version, the we click on Process in Graphic form, then select a specified ressource, click on SAP_CDPBP_03 and change some data for the block listed.
We would like to do this in background (BAPI, MF, or others), as Batch Input doesn't seem to work for the /sapapo/cdpss0 transaction  in Graphic Form Processing.
Is there any way to achieve that, or does the simulation functionnality only works in Transactionnal mode ?
    Thank's in advance !!!

    Hi Cousture,
There are two ways of handling simulation version.  One in the active version and another in the inactive version.
It is always recommendable to carry out simulation studies in active version in foreground only because once you
adopt the changes into active version, if it is master data change, it will affect the data and users.
That too, for graphical objects, if it is carried out in background, it leads to performance problems.
Moreover, there is no sap std feature available for carrying out in background
I checked the badi/bapi also and no such is available.

  • Deleting a Simulation version from APO

    Hi Experts,
We are planning to delete a Simulation Version from our APO system. Till now, we had jobs to copy Active Version to Simulation version. So, at present, the siluation version has all the data which the active version has- which basically means that there is a lot of data that has to be deleted, before we can delete the simulation version.
Is there a best practice around 'Deletion of Sim Version'? If not, on the basis of your experience, can you please suggest how to go about it?
    Your inputs are highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kunal

    Hi Kunal,
Simulation versions are used in many business processes and depending upon your business requirements can be manipulated daily, weekly, monthly, etc.
You can delete a simulation version manually in /SAPAPO/MVM, with transaction /SAPAPO/VERDELLD or program /SAPAPO/VERSION_DELETE_LC_DB.
I don't think you have to delete any transactional data. Just don't use it on version 000.
    Best Regards,
    Mike

  • Optimizer in simulation version

We are running SNP Optimization for a simulation version, while we are running the optimizer job, the planners who are working in active version are complaining about system slowness.  Any body come across this situation? if so, what your recommendations.  Any help is appreciated. We are using SCM 7.2.
    thx
    Jeff

    Hello Jeff,
    Optimizer works in three steps:
    Read master data
    optimization
    write log
The time consuming steps is the 'optimization', and it works in the optimizer server.
So i do not think for the 1st and 2nd step, it slow the system.
If it really killing the performance then try to break the optimizer job into multiple by creating multiple variant. It depend on the business case as well as master data.
For example, you can not run a shared resource in 2 different jobs.

  • Simulation version to Operative project

    Hi experts,
I am unable to create an operative project structure from a simulation version using project builder.
    My req:
    I have sim version:  T-90001/ SIM001
I wish to create operative project T-90001
I can use CJV4 for transfer of project. But is it possible in CJ20N?
    Warm regards
    ramSiva

    Hi Ravi
    Thanks for your response
Please look at the link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60/helpdata/en/0b/ba853488601e33e10000009b38f83b/frameset.htm
There is an illustration which depicts that,
    - Project P1234/version 0001 --> Project 1234 --> Project P1234/Version 0002 --> Project P1234
As per this illustration, the project number remains same.
As you said, the transaction CJ20N is not allowing me to transfer the simulation version to operative project.
But, i am experiencing a dump error while trying to transfer simulation to operative in CVJ4.
At the conclusion, i mean to say that irrespective of transaction code, this may be allowed.
    Please comment.
    warm regards

  • Invalid/unnecessary CORR documents created when copying to target version

    Hi,
we recently discovered a large amount of inexplicable and unnecessary CORR documents in our target system V110. This is the summary of my investigation:
    Invalid CORR journals:
In our foreign currency companies, the system creates reversing and non-reversing CORR journals in the target system V110 after the copy task
ran. The journals contain unexplicable amounts and posts to items and
ttypes that were not used in the source system V100. This creates
incorrect values in the target system. Does anybody know what is causing the creation of
those CORR journals and how can they be stopped?
    Unnecessary CORR journals:
The system posts a reversing CORR journal in the target system due to a
difference between the source and target system. But even when the
difference is corrected in the source system it still continues to post
the CORR journal each month as reversing indefinately. Does anybody know why the
system is posting this CORR journal as reversing instead of non-reversing
and how can we stop those CORR journals from being posted after the
correction the the source system is done?
Your help would be very much appreciated : )

    Hi Tanja,
I saw these CORR records many times during copy process.
    One of the explanations:
    Copying into Another Group Currency
To copy into another group currency, enter a currency translation method in Customizing for the copy method that is to use a rounding method. When performing a copy task, the system carries out the currency translation specified in the copy method.
The copy task consists of the following steps:
           1.      Read source data
           2.      Execute mapping (if defined)
           3.      Execute the BAdI (if defined)
           4.      Currency translation and rounding according to the currency translation method
           5.      Write target data in the target version
When totals data is copied, rounding differences can cause additional data rows. When documents are copied, additional document line items can be created.
If you periodically copy data (that is not accumulated), you can create the opening balances by copying the associated totals records one time only using the nonperiodic copy function .
If you copy the totals records cumulatively and copy documents at the same time, the system behaves as follows:
    ●      Totals records and documents are translated separately. However, documents are always translated periodically.
    ●      Then the system compares the translated totals records with the sum of the translated documents. Here, the translation of totals records takes precedence.
If a difference is found, the system creates a correction document. The document text denotes that this is a correction document. The correction document is also listed in the copy task log.
When data is translated into another group currency, the copy task log shows the following in addition to the ordinary information:
    ●      In the source data section: the group currency key of the source version
    ●      Error messages generated during currency translation
    ●      In the target data section: rounding differences
    ●      Correction documents (if created)

Correction document is a CORR one.
