FCP 5.1.1 update: Any benefits for PPC G5 users ?

The data sheet for the update mentions specific fixes for intel based macs but has no mention of PPC G5 Macs, so I was wondering if there was any need to install the update on my PPC G5.

Issue with Import Panasonic P2 and 720p/24PN Footage Resolved

I just did the entire 5.0 to 5.1.1 crossgrade/update, and it did NOT fix the issue with duplicating frames when using rendered P2 material.
A bit more explanation...
We're doing a project shot with the Panasonic P2 - 720p-24fps. Whenever the material in the timeline needs to be rendered, it does not reference the correct frame, and I wind up with a duplicate frame.
Let's say I have a 5 second shot, with a subtitle appearing at 2 seconds in. Frames 1-48 are clean, and frame 49 - 120 have a subtitle. When using realtime playback, everything is fine - but when I render the subtitle, frame 48 is duplicated, and all of the subtitled frames are off by one.
Sam thing happens if you color correct, or do anything involving rendering. Anyone else having this issue? Any known workarounds?

Outlook 2013 people pane is not showing any items for internal domain users. External contacts works fine

I have recently purchase a new PC which has Windows 8.1, and Outlook 2013, connected to an exchange 2010 SP3 RU4 server.
In the People pane, the for External clients, then this box populates correctly, but for internal domain users, it shows "There are no items to show in this view"
On my OLD PC using XP, and Outlook 2010, connected to the SAME account, then people pane shows correctly for all users.
Any help appreciated

I have checked in my Windows 8 and Outlook 2013 with Exchange 2010 SP3 RU4 environment. There are three folders listed under My Contact in my People pane:
Contacts: The contacts which we added and saved
manually before.
Lync Contacts: The contacts we added in Lync.
Suggested contacts folder: Automatically
keeps track of everyone you send a message to, but isn’t in your Outlook contacts. Please note that it is different from Auto-Complete List.
Therefore, I suppose that the meaning of “but for internal domain users, it shows ‘There are no items to show in this view’ ” is that there is no contacts in the
Contacts folder. Is it right? If I misunderstand, please point it out. And we need to add and save users manually in this folder.

Well when I first purchased I had an mac address, which I have not used for a long time I started a me address about 18months ago. and up untill I updated my iPhone I have been able to use my mac.com now I cant and dont know what to do because it tells me to verify my apple ID. a clean install and rebuild. is an exercise in futility. Apparently, you mucked things up. Boot with the disc that came with the MBA, follow the steps in your Everything Mac booklet to restore to factory condition, and on first boot use the Setup Assistant to migrate from the other MBA. Then, run Software Update.

Did you follow the instructions here:

Pay attention to differences in power connection depending on whether or not you have AppleTV2 or AppleTV 3.
Also some microUSB leads don't seem to work - try another if you can. Disconnect superfluous USB device/hubs too if possible.

Is there any need for an InDesign user to use InCopy as well?

We are looking to do a software refresh from CS3 to CS5, and when auditing users we discoverd a handful of people that are using InDesign and InCopy. My previous thoughts about InCopy, was that the program isn't needed if you have InDesign, but users have given the following reasons for using both. Can someone tell me if these reasons are founded, or if there is a way to do these things in InDesign only?
Example 1: InDesign: Use to edit pages before going to press, cut copy to fit, re-write headlines and insert captions. InCopy: Use daily to perform first reads and content edits of stories submitted by writers and to write my own copy, and to format stories before sending them to the copy editor for final editing.
Example 2: InCopy CS2 I use in conjunction w/InDesign when we create an issue.
Example 3: I use Adobe Incopy CS2 several times per week to format and file stories with our copydesk. I also use Adobe InDesign CS3 to make cuts and late edits on page each week before my section ships to the printer.
Example 4: Use both daily for printed materials

Thank you John, for one user it appears he is doing to copy editing as well as the design. He is using InCopy to format tex files before they are imported in InDesign. Can you tell me if InDesign can be used as a word-processing software?
Here are exaples of a few of the other workflows: When I send stories to our copy chief, they have to be in an InCopy template for him to format the fonts. FM's two reporters send stories to me in Word, and I edit them before putting them in an InCopy template and sending them proofread. They then do an initial proofread for house style before formatting them and sending them to our art department for page layout in InDesign.
After the pages are laid out by our art director, I use InDesign in order to cut stories to fit, proofread and edit and write captions on page. Years ago, we had an additional copy editor to help our copy chief with this stage of the process, but he got laid off. They gave me and one other editor copies of InDesign at that point, so that we could distribute his work on shipping days. Since we're a weekly, I currently use both of these programs extensively every week.
It appears these users are wearing multiple hats, I was just under the impression that InDesign could do anything that InCopy does (and more ofcourse). Apparently I was incorrect?

In order to accomplish this task, some of our friends have already made the move and bought http://www.archlinuxtr.org. But some of us think that since we're trying to create our community, it'd be the best if we could get a subdomain (http://tr.archlinux.org) and e-mail lists etc....
As far as I can see, Arch doesn't provide these things for its communities.. Is there a plan for this in the future or should we do it "arch way" ?

@T-u-N-i-X: Good luck! :-) At the moment I think it is best if every national Arch community is "self hosted". This has some advantages like less work and no additional need for resources for archlinux.org. In addition to this you keep your flexibility. BTW: Why not archlinux.tr?
@wonder: I am not sure if I understand you. But if you think creating national communities will split the entire arch community, you are wrong. :-) If done right the opposite is the case and such communities are a great addition to everybody.

Hello all,
-Are there any logs that can be referred to verify when a user was created and dropped etc?
-Alter log seems only logging startup/shutdown, redo switches, creating/dropping tablespaces.
-Is there a way to restore a schema completely?
I havent got a lot of experience, and little more than no in terms of backups and restores.

Thats a very good point, and sounds very useful. But need more advice on this please. How about a trigger or something that can log these details into some table.

Yes by EXP u can export a particular schema only and
u can import the same using IMP.
How can I set this up to automate this on a regular basis?

It could sound like that one indeed. There are a few options to go for, however it should be fairly easy to find out :)
Create a test GPO and apply to a limited amount of users. GPUpdate and verify that the GPO has been applied using rsop.msc
Then open the application to test and see if it has the desired effect. You might need to change more than one setting, depending on the application and desired behavior.

You should remove his AppleID and restore it as new.

My husband and I are using the same iTunes account on all mac & pc computers, but the libraries are different on each machine. We always manually manage our music (no auto sync). iTunes is up to date on the PCs. My husband uses our joint iTunes account on his pc, but once again, has a different collection in his library from those on the other machines. He can't load any music from his PC to his iphone 4. I can load music from my mac library to my iphone 4s, but cannot load from my pc library to my iphone 4s. How can I switch my main library that it syncs with from the mac to the pc?

Yes. Delete the Apps that were not Purchased using Your Apple ID.
But a Restore as New is the way to go.
