I have installed the FDM , and tried to access the weblogon page (http://servername/HyperionFDM/) but the page is not getting displayed properly , just it displayed file and help in the left above corner of the page.
please suggest what to do , do i need to change any settings i the IIS (webserver).

Hi,
Before installing FDM, make sure, u have IIS and ASP .NET installed on ur machine. Turn off your Firewall. Configure Web Server, Application Server, Load Balance Server and Task Manager :) --> read the doc to configure.

FDM Installation/Reinstallation issues

We originally installed FDM 11.1.1 however the HFM adapter did not register properly and we were instructed to uninstall/reinstall. We've done this countless times without success. At the end of every installation we are left with no Task Manager Service, No FDM web application and no FDM Application Pool.
We've uninstalled using the EPMS Installer and through the Control Panel Add/Remove
We've uninstalled individual components and all of FDM
We've installed individual components one at a time and selected all of FDM
We've installed by tier and by component
Nothing seems to successfully install FDM correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All you need to do is copy DAC folder and dwrep folder in Oracle BI folder to the machine where you need DAC
client....in this way you can access dac client on ur machine B (startclient.bat if windows startclient.sh if linux)
Installing twice is not required....hope this helps

Where to find useful FDM documentation?

I really hate posting a question like this, but I'm at my wits end and need help...
I'm trying to figure out how to use FDM to import, map, and export (i.e., load) into Essbase about as simple a comma-delimited text file as I can imagine. I have spent many, many hours reading the FDM Administrator's Guide and trying out different interpretations of the instructions presented in that guide, but I haven't been able to succeed with the most basic requirement of skipping certain records during the import.
It's apparent from reading this forum that many people are utilizing core capabilities of FDM that aren't clearly documented, if at all, in the Administrator's Guide. So my question is where can I find additional documentation that goes beyond the Administrator's Guide to reveal the details of FDM?
To cite one example of useful information that is not in the Administrator's Guide, one poster to this forum indicated that records such as these in an import file...

Regarding my specific problem, the Administrator's Guide suggests that I can easily skip records during import via the import format simply by specifying Skip for the Field Name and the text in the Expression field that I want to trigger skipping a record. I've tried a variety of skip expressions with my comma-delimited file, but it mostly doesn't work as I would expect. For example, I can successfully skip records containing "1234" in the fourth field with the skip expression "1234". However, if I change the skip expression to "12345" FDM does not skip records containing "12345" in the fourth field. What the heck is up with that? I certainly haven't seen anything in the Administrator's Guide that would lead me to believe "1234" would work but "12345" wouldn't!
Any help that can be offered with either FDM documentation or my specific import problem will be much appreciated.

Thanks once again to this forum, I did find an FDM Scripting Fundamentals Guide, which might be the API document you're referring to.
Another question for everyone...When I select Help from the menu in FDM Workbench, FDM tells me "4200 - The specified file was not found." Consequently, I'm unable to access any online help for the FDM Workbench. Does a help file for FDM Workbench even exist, but has somehow gone missing from my installation? If one does exist, does it contain any worthwhile information?
If someone confirms that a useful help file exists, then I'll look into repairing my FDM installation and hopefully locating the help file.

ERPi and FDM for 11.1.2.2 - Source adapter?

Could you please help on the following questions about ERPi and FDM for 11.1.2.2
1. In general, what is a source adapter used for?
2. In the FDM installation package, there is an adapter (ERPI-FIN-E) for ERP integrator.
I would like clarify if my understanding below is correct or not.
My understanding is that this adapter allows automation on execution of ERPi data load rules in the FDM application, which means we can kick start the data load rule of ERPi by scheduled FDM jobs.

Hi,
1. Classic FDM source adapters are used to import data from native supported source system (EBS, SAP, ERPI) instead of files or databases. Let´s say that in some how the extract process is already packaged so you can extract from source system what the adapter does
2. You are right, as ERPI is a transition product between Classic FDM and FDMEE (11.1.2.3), there were some FDM functionality missing in ERPI. Therefore you had to use a mix of ERPI and FDM in order to get the full functionality. You use ERPI to extract data and FDM to process it (scripting, intersection validation report, etc.)
In 11.1.2.3, this gap is even smaller as now we have scripting, intersection validation report, and other functionality within FDMEE 11.1.2.3 (re-branded ERPI). The source adapter for Classic FDM still exists.
In 11.1.2.4, as classic FDM will not be available anymore -> no more source adapter :-)

ERPi Intialize Source System is not extracting any chart of accounts.

Hi Gurus,
I have an issue while Initializing Source system in ERPi. Any help fixing this issue is greatly appreciated.
Issue is, When i Intialize source system in ERPi, its just kicking off only one scenario in ODI. And when i browse to process detail to check the status, its still showing as running.
But i don't see any scenarios in ODI in running state.
So, obviously we can guess it didn't go to that far extent to show the chart of accounts.
So, here my questions is:
1. I believe there should be multiple Scenarios which should have been kicked of in ODI. But why only one Scenario have been kicked off?
2. And how long will Source Intialization process take.
Version of software using (ERPi- v.11.1.2.2) and ODI (v.11.1.1.3) Source System (EBS v.11i)

Yes, i Imported the Master and Work Reps which we will get as a part of FDM Installation.
Surprising but true that ODI V.11g is only supported for Hyperion system greater than V.11.1.2.1.501.
Also, by any chance do you know any Knowledge base or forums where we can find good material for Erpi Implementation, like Tips or pitfalls to avoid in Erpi Implementation.
I know this is one of the good place.
Found that admin guide doen't fully cover everything.

Hi,
You need to install the Essbase Adapter in version 11. It is a component of the FDM Installation. Please read the FDM Readme for the version you are installing as well as the Readme for the adapter.
In version 11, the Essbase Adapter is now an installed component and is part of the EPM Installation. If you did not select it during the installation, you will need to re-run the installer for EPM and select to "Install Components Individually" and uncheck all items, then expand the FDM item and check the Hyperion Essbase Adapter within the FDM item. Once the adapter has been installed, there will be an Adapters folder that is created within the Hyperion\products\financialdataquality\ folder that contains the XML file for the adapter. Please read the HFM Adapter readme for instructions on how to configure the adapter. The HFM Adapter Readme can be downloaded from E-Delivery.
Please let me know if you have any issues.

FDM Error creating new application - after installation

Hi guys,
Environment is Windows 2008 (64bits). Hyperion 11.1.2. database is Oracle 11g in other server
I have installed the following products on this server as a part of full hyperion installation
Hyperion FDM
Hyperion BPMA
since both use IIS.
and both need oracle client or ODAC
Installed Oracle Client 11g (runtime installation)
BPMA is working fine currently
when i try to create an app on FDM it states that it will need user/password but it's already provided
if i do a tnsping to service is ok
My question is what I'm missing since the client is isntalled and it should work with the ORAOLEDB provider ( I dont know if i have to configurate this provider in another part, or if with service definition is enough
My other question is, since FDM is 32 bits app and BPMA is 64bits, do they would need different oracle clients? if this the case can they coexists, or even the apps

yes I found the solution on the metalink website
Teh problem was that the oracle client 32 bit was missing and fdm need it. My concern was about that I already had the same client but 64 bits tha was needed for Performance Management Architect on the same server. I installed the client 32 but keeping in mind to do not overwrite or deinstalling the current 64 bit one.
I let both and found the net service configuration directly on 32 path, run the the configurator and created the TNS service
after that both services FDM and PMA are working fine

Clarifications on ODI installation (for FDM ERPi to drill through EBS)

This is for drilling EBS from HFM and Planning through FDM. EPM is 11.1.2.2. ODI is 11.1.1.6.0.
A sharing on the steps I am going to perform, anyone who has done it before or idea on how to do so please help me to have a look and validate. I found documentation on EPM and ODI installation separately but I don't find step-by-step guide to make the subject configuration work. Please let me know if you know one. Thanks a lot.
The FDM ERPi component will be configured AFTER ODI is up and running. FDM and all other EPM components are up-and-running before the ODI installation.
Steps to install/configure ODI:
1. Create DB schema, one for MASTER and one for WORK, grant DB access according to the install guide
2. Use Oracle RCU (Repository Creation Utility) v11.1.1.3.3 to populate the MASTER and WORK tables
3. run ODI installer, using the jdk160 located in the ORACLE middleware home directory
4. select all available components of ODI for installation i.e. ODI Studio (with local agent), ODI SDK, Standalone Installation, all under Java EE installation (Java EE Agent, ODI Console, Public Web Service)
Have read the manual up to here, will update the thread when I go further, again feel free to comment.

In the situation you have described unless the Authentication mechanism and the style of that mechanism for all the environments (in this sitaution Hyperion vs. Oracle EBS) are identical then there is no unified approach. Generally when going from Hyperion into Oracle EBS the EBS landing page is returned prompting you for valid credentials.
In order for this to work in on seemless move you would have to use OID with OSSO.
OID = Oracle Internet Directory
OSSO = Oracle Single Sign On

for hyperion 11.1.1.1.0 version on my machine.
Can any one tell me what other softwares and the steps do I need for the installation of FDM 11.1.1 .

The FDM Web Server components use the Microsoft .NET Framework, therefore you must specify the Windows account under which the .NET process will run. The FDM DCOM objects also use this account. The permissions required for the account to run the .Net process are listed below. The account can be a local or domain account. The alternative to granting the permissions listed below is to make the account a member of the local administrators group, though this is less secure. For detailed information on what access the specified Windows account requires for the .NET Framework, refer to the following Web page:

If the specified account does not have administrator rights, on the Web server, the account must have at least full control permission for the following folders and sub-folders:

HELP: Installation FDM / FDQM 11.1.2.1

I am tired of this Hyperion FDM or FDQM installation.
I downloaded this EPM Installer and than Downloaded FDM/FDQM. than I extracted FDM at same EPM Installer Location when i click on InstalTool.bat window appears for 30 second and than it disappears nothing happens after that.
Am i doing wright way??

FDM Load Balance Installation for (Essbase) Plannig Application

we are unable to configure the <FM 11.1.1.2>; FM Load Balancer using MAD & getting following error message during Logon Test:

Hi,
EDGE/Crystal Reports Server and Enterprise are no native 64bit applications. That does mean that they only run in 32bit mode. But you can install it on a 64bit hardware with a 64bit OS.

I am getting below error while running FDM import:

Hi,
This could be due to mismatch of the installers you are trying to install on 64 bit Environment.
While performing an install make sure that you download and install only the 64 bit, some components may be generic though.
And also have you downloaded the EPM architect and EPM installer, not sure if they are available in the version (11.1.2) that you had mentioned.
But if there is one try to extract and see if that helps.
And also I am not sure if R2 is supported for your version (11.1.2).

I have installed Hyperion FDM on win2008 and oracle 10g. After installation, I configured it to authenticate with shared services. Everything else like Load balance, application server are configured. I can login to FDM web url using the shared services admin user. But when i go on to create a new application ( i give the application name, the oracle database schema name, the folder in the local hard drive), it takes forever to create the application. I keep on getting the message 'Processing, Please wait..' message. I see that it created 4 folders ( data, inbox, reports, outbox) but i don't see any tables in the schema. The web console never comes back. But i dont get any sort of error.
It appears that IIS has hung up. But i can still get http://localhost.
How can i find whats going on.
Please help.

Got it. I think you want to point me to http://www.fdmguru.com/. I am relatively new in FDM area.
Can you please point me to the exact location where there could be information about this problem.
