Feature List of EP KM & Collaboration

Dear Experts
Is there any document which lists out the Features of EP, KM & Collaboration?
Can anybody help me to find that?

SAP NetWeaver Portal (erstwhile Enterprise Portal) directly addresses one of the most pressing prob-lems facing enterprise IT organizations today: providing all members of the enterprise’s value chain – from employees and customers to partners and suppliers – with unified access to the information they need to carry out their assignments; interact with one another; and make informed decisions.
SAP NetWeaver Portal unifies key information and applications to give users a single view that span across organizational boundaries.  With SAP NetWeaver Portal, you can quickly and effectively inte-grate SAP solutions, non-SAP applications, legacy systems, databases, unstructured documents, in-ternal and external Web content and groupware applications (e.g. MS Outlook, IBM Lotus Notes).
SAP NetWeaver Portal uses open standards, web services and tight integration with other SAP Net-Weaver components to support heterogeneous systems from all major technology providers.  It comes with built-in support for J2EE and Microsoft.NET technology.  This allows you to take full ad-vantage of all your information resources – and maximize the return on your IT investments.  In addi-tion to this, predefined business content accelerates implementation and reduces the cost of integrat-ing your existing systems.
SAP NetWeaver Portal is flexible and provides secure platform for all of your information assets.  Fea-tures and functions of SAP NetWeaver Portal include:
•     Portal Infrastructure Management
•     Knowledge Management
•     Collaboration
SAP NetWeaver Portal Capabilities
SAP NetWeaver Portal comprises three major building blocks as mentioned above: Portal Platform, Knowledge Management and Collaboration.
These building blocks are completely integrated with each other i.e., Knowledge Management needs the Portal Platform as an integration and runtime environment.  In the same way, Collaboration needs the functionality of Knowledge Management to operate.
Each major building block is composed of subcomponents. The building blocks and the functionality of the same are explained below.
Portal Infrastructure Management / Portal Platform
The Portal Platform has an open architecture that enables the integration of other major building blocks of Portal as well as other NetWeaver components.
The portal environment is used for developing of Portal content such as iViews, Pages, Worksets and assigning the same to the relevant roles based on Organization specific requirements.
This environment supports both UNIX and Microsoft Windows operating systems and the content can be localized to support more than 20 languages.
Its field-tested capabilities deliver the security, scalability, and performance that SAP customers ex-pect, along with easy content administration.
Portal Content is Key for Portal Success
The benefits of SAP NWP are based on both the features of the portal platform and the content that runs on it.  As with any other platform, it is the applications that really make it useful to users. There-fore, the more applications the organisation has to support diverse user needs, the more valuable a platform becomes to the organization.
Developing compelling, relevant content – the kind that delivers significant gains in productivity – re-quires careful planning, a serious investment in development, and a commitment to closely monitor usage and continually improve the portal.  To support customers in developing such content, SAP provides resources that substantially lower the costs and speed up the process of developing high-quality content. These resources include:
Predefined content – Provides out-of-the-box content designed for many of the user groups in the organization, including content that significantly boosts user productivity. Designed specifically to meet the needs of various roles, this content is bundled into more than 70 multilingual business pack-ages.
The predefined content in SAP’s business packages helps make your portal implementation a suc-cess by:
•Saving development costs, since you do not have to build content from scratch
•Reducing the time required to implement the portal for various user groups
•Benefiting from built-in business processes
•Simplifying content revisions with automatic updates of business packages
iViews – The business packages contain more than 2,500 iViews (technical name - Portlets).  iViews are small applications that display information in various formats, such as text, figures, graphs, re-ports, tables, and charts. iViews can do more than push static content to the user; they make it possi-ble to draw real-time data from applications to provide users with interactive access to a wide range of business functions.
Tools for content developers – The Portal Development Kit (PDK) supports both JAVA and .Net technologies, allowing customers to draw on the large development communities that have the re-quired skills.  SAP is also working on visual tools that will allow business users to develop content for their areas of expertise, without needing to code.
Tools for content administrators – These tools are part of the SAP EP platform. They are intuitive, easy to use, and no programming skills are required to use them. Most customers use a combination of SAP’s predefined content with content they develop to meet specific organizational needs. All of this content is managed by a portal administrator and pushed to the appropriate users.
Knowledge Management
The knowledge management capabilities of the NetWeaver Portal platform convert the entire spec-trum of unstructured content stored in third-party repositories and other content management systems into Organizational Knowledge by providing a shared set of user services for finding, organizing and accessing this content, and to improve decision making process.
SAP NetWeaver portal provides you with a configurable set of connectors, repositories, and services, including a full-featured search engine that makes all unstructured information accessible to users.  In addition to this, Powerful classification tools automate the organization of information.  SME (Subject Matter Experts) and Content Managers can publish information to distinct user audiences through Web-based authoring that simplifies the publishing process.
Basically the capabilities of KM component are: Creating and Working with Information and Search for Information.
Creating and Working with Information
The knowledge management capabilities of NetWeaver Portal support the entire document life cycle. Standard user interfaces provide all the basic functions required for working with documents – author-ing, publishing, classifying, versioning, publishing workflows, and more. Automatic classification ser-vices sort documents into the appropriate channels, and subscription mechanisms push the new con-tent to target audiences. To complete the cycle, readers can provide feedback to authors and use the rating function.  Template-based authoring and publishing using multiple channels make life easy for occasional authors, while administrators can utilize an extensive framework for detailed configurations and additions to the system.  With these and other features, the knowledge management capabilities of SAP NetWeaver provide an out-of-the-box solution.  The extensible design supports the addition of a vast collection of features to meet your specific business needs.
Powerful Search and Classification
To resolve this fundamental issue of searching for information, the KM capabilities of SAP NetWeaver Portal come with a search and classification engine – referred as TREX. This fully equipped and inte-grated engine provides knowledge workers with tremendous power and flexibility for finding what they need, when they need it. With the search and classification engine, users can do the following:
•Search across multiple content repositories and discover related documents any-where in the system
•Retrieve originals or highlighted HTML versions of nearly 200 file formats
•Navigate through logical hierarchies – commonly known as taxonomies – populated by automatic classification
•Associate information in documents with individuals and identify content experts
•Use fuzzy and linguistic search methods in nearly 30 languages
•Benefit from dynamically ranked search results and document summarization
Collaboration
SAP NetWeaver Portal provides comprehensive collaboration tools and services that foster teamwork in a wide range of business processes.  Virtual collaboration rooms allow team members to work to-gether efficiently – share knowledge, applications, and ideas in real time, regardless of where they are located.  This integrated, real-time collaboration enables powerful and immediate communication that crosses organizational boundaries while enforcing security requirements.
Portal Collaboration can integrate seamlessly with third-party collaboration tools like WebEx i.e. Portal users can even collaborate with non-Portal users. They work with groupware solutions, such as Mi-crosoft Exchange or Lotus Domino, to automatically synchronize calendars. This open framework pro-tects your existing technology investment, and the collaboration capabilities allow users to work with familiar tools.
Easy to Use and High Productivity
The collaboration capabilities ensure rapid adoption by users; easy, intuitive navigation increases productivity.  A dynamic launch pad provides centralized and fast access to all collaborative services and contacts from any portal page. For example, users can start collaboration sessions with team members directly by clicking on the contacts’ names. It’s also easy for users to create new collabora-tion rooms based on predefined templates and to provide authorizations to rooms in one step.
SAP NetWeaver makes real-time collaboration an integral, natural part of everyday work. Its easy-to-use capabilities include the following:
Collaboration rooms - Create, maintain, and manage virtual work spaces for teams, workgroups, and communities.  Invite room members and whole groups, provide access rights, mark rooms as favorites, search for rooms, run rooms analyses, and share knowledge, ideas, and work in a team-oriented environment. Share all project-related tools, services, and information sources from a single point of access.
Team news, discussions, and folders - Edit and publish team and project news to all room mem-bers.  Share information and exchange ideas – all organized by discussion topics. Because collabora-tion capabilities are tightly integrated with the knowledge management capabilities, you can manage team- and project-related documents with functions for check in, check out, locking, versioning, notifi-cations, and folder management in a collaboration room.
Team calendar - Schedule meetings and synchronize calendars by integrating with third-party groupware solutions. Provide users with a continually updated overview of their daily tasks and schedules.
Task assignment - Create, browse, assign, edit, and track team tasks.
Instant messaging and chat - Create and send instant messages to one or more persons for imme-diate response. Hold real-time discussions with multiple users.
Contact list - See whether other portal users are online and available. Start collaboration services directly from the contact.
Application sharing - Share multiple applications, documents, and your desktop and portal compo-nents in real time from any portal page.  Make application sharing an integral part of meetings that are facilitated by third-party collaboration tools.

Krishna.

  • Feature not appearing in site collection features list using powershell

I created a custom web part solution which adds a custom web part to the web part gallery - simple.
I did this on my dev server and used Visual Studio's deploy button to deploy it, and it all worked. The solution was added to the Solution Store, my feature was now in the Site Collection features list and automatically activated. So I checked my web part
gallery and it was there as well... great.
Now I'm ready to migrate my simple web part to my Prod server. I managed to use WSP builder to build my wsp. So now i have my wsp file.
I used Powershell to add my solution to my Prod server, that worked. So I ran the Install-SPSolution command and looking at the logs, it all seemed to install fine. Here are the commands I used:
    Add-SPSolution “E:\Deployment WSPs\HRFeedbackForm.wsp“
    Install-SPSolution -Identity "HRFeedbackForm.wsp" -GACDeployment
However, when I go to my Site Collection Features, I can't see my feature. There is nothing in my 14 hive either and as far as I can see, and there are no errors in my log files.
So what have I done wrong?
So I tested adding and deploying the same solution on my dev box using Powershell and I had the same problem as what I've experienced on my Prod server. So what's the difference between deploying solutions via Visual Studio Deploy and using those powershell
commands??? Is there something else I'm meant to change, somewhere?
I hope someone can shed some light on this issue.
    Danielle :)

    Hi,
I wonder whether you have to populate this web part by force in your web part gallery.
For this, go to your Site's Home page. Then...
Site Action > Site Settings > Galleries > Web Parts
    From here...
Under Library Tools go to Documents Tab > Click on New Documents > The New Web Parts popup will open
Here search for your web part. If you find it, select it and Check "Overwrite if file already exisists" and click on Populate Gallery.
If the above does not work, I am stumped too. I will be curious what other members of the community have to add.
Thanks, Soumya | MCITP, SharePoint 2010
Omg it was there and i've added it to the web parts library and it works.... that was soooo strange.
    Thanks Soumya :)
Can you explain at all why the web part has been added to the web part gallery, but the feature doesn't appear under site collection features?
    Danielle :)

  • Will Apple TV ever get an iTunes Music app loaded on its feature list?

Does Apple plan to add an iTunes Music app on its featured list of programs like NetFlix?
I know one can access Movies through iTunes for purchase or rent, but currently there is not one for purchasing music through iTunes using your Apple TV device.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    1) No.
    2) No.

  • How do they choose which ebook to put on the featured list

My book is up on iTunes. It is very high quality. Howl do they choose which ones to have on the Featured list as opposed to merely the release date category.  Also... What about DRM.? What's the difference and does this accept their decision?

ISE uses the first interface enabled for that portal, so if want to use a specific interface, then only enable that interface.  If interface is GE0, then default behavior is to redirect with ip value set to node's FQDN.  If interface other than GE0, then default behavior is to return the IP address of the associated interface.
Aliases can be configured for each interface using the CLI 'ip host' command to associate a hostname/FQDN to the IP address of a given interface.  When configured, ISE will return that value rather than IP address in redirect.  This is critical if want to avoid certificate trust warning on connecting clients.
Be sure that certificate assigned to interface includes the correct FQDN or optionally wilcard value in the CN or SAN fields to avoid cert warnings.

  • Can we get a feature list for the next update?

I'm early in the planning stages for a project and am wanting to make a decision on what Stage3D framework to use. We're not opposed to putting in the extra effort to build from the ground-up but so far I'm loving Proscenium. Unfortunately, and understandably being at the stage it's at, there are a lot of features missing that we're going to require. Is it possible to get an upcoming feature list of what we can expect with the next iteration to help us make a decision?

I am in the same situation, and many other developers do as well, so I guess it would be of fundamental importance for the success of this project to answer these questions as soon as possible.
Thanks and keep up the very good work.

  • Premiere Pro CC features list and video tutorials show syncing of video clips by waveform. Why?

This feature is not present in Premiere Pro CC, so why does the features list boast it? Why do the online tutorial videos show options that don't exist?

Despite one of the touted benfits of Cloud Cuckoo being the rapid implementation of innovations, you will have to wait until June the 17 for this particular feature, as the true CC is not released until then.
I should be very interested to know, in a round figure, the exact number of instant innovations those who subscribed to the initial offering of Premiere via CC have received during the past year.  Sarbanes-Oxley no longer provides a fig-leaf!

I have removed the old Java Updates (17/19/21) from my Program and Features list(Win7). They still appear in the Tools>Add-ons>Extensions list. How do I remove them?
In both SAFE and Regular browser windows, the UNINSTALL button is grayed out.
I have tried in SAFE MODE, as well as the Help>troubleshooting Information>Application Basics>Profile Directory>Open Containing Folder,,,(looked, nothing there),,,,in both SAFE and Regular browser windows.

You can uninstall (remove) the Java Console extensions, you do not need them to run Java applets.

  • Where can a find a complete feature list for Lightroom?

I tried the Adobe website and lightroom links. Found some very nice, -but slow to display- graphics, ads for the mobile version, how-to tutorials (the first one was 32 minutes long!), but did not see any feature list, or even a good description of what it does. I did not even see any screen shots. I want to narrow my software choices before I start downloading and trying each one.
A bit of the missing information:
Does it provide for editing IPTC data? If yes, must it be one photo at a time, or can I apply a IPTC data to hundreds of photos at once -for example, the event, date, photographer and keywords.
Does it have dodge and burn tools? I'm not looking for full blown photoshop, but this is very useful when blown background highlights occur near the edge of my crop, or bright background objects distract from the subject.
Does it provide for printing contact sheets with selected IPTC data fields printed under the photos?
Does it provide for uploading photos to Zenfolio? If yes, does it provide for creating new galleries in Zenfolio as part of the upload?
Does it perform exposure (OK -brightness, but it seems like exposure), contrast, and white balance adjustments to multiple files in a batch process -the user able to select the files by thumbnails.
Does it support multiple monitors so tools can be on one monitor, and the photo(s) on the other?
Does it provide side by side comparison of photos?
Does it provide a spot meter for measuring the brightness of a specific area of a photo as compared to neutral grey? (Or classic zones.) This would be very helpful when working onsite with a notebook computer -screen calibration isn't much help when always working in different ambient light.
Does it support multiple processor cores so that more cores equals faster processing?
I shoot sports in RAW format. I use up to three programs in post processing: Photo Mechanic, Canon RAW software, and Corel Photo. It would speed my work flow if I could use one program. Lightroom seems to be a combination of Photo Mechanic and Canon RAW software, with some select Photoshop features that may cover what I do with Corel.
I primarily use Photo Mechanic for post processing: Selecting shots from thumbnails, entering IPTC data, down sampling, cropping, moving, copying, deleting, sharpening, naming, uploading, and printing contact sheets with captions. It converts Canon RAW files to jpeg more than 10x faster than Canon software, with better options for down sampling, but any edits to RAW files in the Canon software have to be (painfully slowly) saved out to a jpeg file because Photo Mechanic can't see the RAW edits.
I use the Canon RAW software for brightness, contrast, white balance, and saturation -but only as the exception. Most of the time I can submit photos as shot -except for the Photo Mechanic work.
I use Corel software for dodge and burn, healing brush, and clone tools. Corel has the same features I use in the Canon software -but those features don't work as well in Corel as in Canon software, so it is no substitute for the Canon software. For example, often brightness won't bring out shadow details -it just turns black to grey, where the Canon software, for the same photo, can bring out the details in the shadows when I adjust brightness. The Canon software has more meaningful adjustments -I can brighten in "stops" instead of arbitrary scales of 0 to 100.
Sorry for the long post. I am used to seeing detailed feature lists and screenshots on software boxes. Surprised the Adobe site doesn't have that. If it does, please post the link.
    thanks

This should help. Here is a link to the Lightoom user manual:

  • Should firefox be on my firewall's allowed programs and features list

With the release of versions 27-30, Firefox has been opening web pages very slowly - so much so that I have reverted back to using IE 11. I have been trying every "fix" that has been suggested in the various forums - including creating a new profile, resetting Firefox, reinstalling Firefox, making changes in the about:config, etc. - to no avail.
In my search for a solution to the problem I came across a post that recommended making sure [my] firewall isn't causing a problem - it suggested that I remove Firefox from the list of allowed programs and to let the firewall ask for permission to allow Firefox the next time I launched it.
When I finally found the list I discovered that Firefox was not on it. Further research lead me to articles where users were getting "Server not found" error messages, and the recommended fix was to add Firefox to the list. All this did was confuses me.
Since I am able to connect to the internet, all-be-it very slowly, Firefox must be getting past the firewall. It should be noted that Internet Explorer is not on the list either and I have no problem with it.
This raises the question as to whether or not Firefox needs to be on the allowed list. Can Firefox not being on the firewall's allowed programs and features list slow Firefox down and if so why?
If I'm going to make a change to my system I want to make an informed change.
    System Info:
    Windows 7 64bit SP1
    8Gb Ram
    Nvidia Quadro 600 Graphics card

There is a great variation between different security products. If yours does not prompt you for permission to let different programs access the internet, then you probably do not need to worry about that particular issue.
To test how Firefox runs "uncustomized" on your system, could you do a two-minute experiment?
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
    firefox.exe -P
''Don't delete anything here.'' Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
Click the Create Profile button, choose a name like July21, and skip the option to change the folder location. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
Does Firefox work any faster in the new profile?
<blockquote>You also could experiment with disabling all the nonessential add-ons in the new profile. Open the Add-ons page using either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
To check the most relevant categories, you can click "Plugins" and "Extensions" in the left column. Plugins can be disabled by setting them to "Never Activate".
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the add-ons page and click one of the links as the last step. </blockquote>
When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button on July21. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.

  • Os 4.0 feature list

I've been searching (googling)for a complete list of 4.0 features but am having challenges finding one. Does anyone know where I can find a list?
    Thanks!

Doesn't release a feature list!? I hope you're kidding. That makes zero sense. Why would they hide feautes? What is it, a game to them? "Try to figure it out and then we still won't tell you." Obviously others are listing features, but how do we know if that's all of them unless there is an official feature list. You'd think they'd want to let people know what can be done. Some things are more obvious than others. Oh, I guess I'm old-fashioned. I have this crazy thought that you make a product and then try to make everyone aware of all its capabilities so they can get the most use out of it.

  • Update the supported features list

I suggest that you update the help guide about supported features.
Recently I was misguided because of that list on supported features, about horizontal swipe, flattened articles, on Android devices.
The list tells that its not supported on Android, but actually it is.

Sorry, I missed that one. I updated the help article. Thanks for reporting the error.

  • New features list or roadmap for improvements?

    Hi
Just wondering if there is a list of enhancements that are currently in development or proposed?
This might eliminate some of the duplicate requests for new features if people can see what's coming.
    Thanks

    Hi;
Unfortunately this isn't something that we publish.  There used to be a method to submit "feature requests" (the Ideas page) but that was a feature of the forums in general and not specific to the FormsCentral forum and was removed.  For FormsCentral we are still investigating a way to replace that so that customers can submit their requests.
    Thanks,
