Feature read and Variable key(VARKY)

I want to ask one question, PLS help me
as you know , every country's staff's infotype 0002 screen is not same
for example Canada's screen NO is 2000, Japan's screen NO is 2022
so I want to select dynpro no from T588M， Ｉcan know field Module Pool Name(REPNA) and Standard Screen(DYNNR), but I can`t confirm Variable key(VARKY) because there is subtype .
can we select Variable key from table T549B and how to select,
is there standard logic?

Reading T588M hide fields for MOLGA/feature/variable key & HIDE custom flds

    I have requirement to read hide fields from T588M . As we can hide filed in T588m and we already have written a program in which it called certain feature from PE03 for IT0002 and hide the filed based on the user authorization . Now I have introduce another field which some how the same as in SAP standard screen , for some good reason and according to business process it was not full filling the requirements . So I introduce another field. Now what we want in PBO of IT enhancement it stop certain users to see that fields using feature ( Tr.Pe03 Feature p0002 ) . In feature we have programmed that it call our customized program and check the authorization as mention earlier .
Herere my questions
-     Do you guys have any other good option to control that?
-     If some how I manage to read feature using FM HR_FEATURE_BACKFIELD in PBO
-      After reading feature I am accessing the table T588m to make sure for certain feature which field is hide or not as in table T588m I can see the fields like +-, , how can I make sure which field is refer to what I also find the FMS

Right now Im debugging the standard code how its reads the T558M , and I got some clue .. But it looks like long path I mean reading some screen fields.. Include program is L0PXVF01.
Now my question is do you guys have any good solution, it might possible Im doing it using the short path .. ( Cuz I wna use my security program as its using feature )

1- Well Im thinking that I have to compare T558M on the base of Feature and variable key . And see that standard field is hidden... if it is .. I want to also HIDE my custom field ....
2- For our feature "p0002" , we have developed a custom code in which on the basis of variable key and user profile it get executed and also see wther that person has authorization to see that standard field or not . if say that person doesnt have authorization for that field I can also hide mine custom field.
I just got the test login and Im going to test it by add/removing security roles .

Satelllite A100-773 and WIN 7: Card Reader and Fn-Hotkeys not working

Hi,
I hope that this question was not asked 100 times before. (I haven't found an answer in this forum)
Problem:
Card Reader and FN-Keys are not working, where can i get drivers?
I installed Win 7 Pro on my Satellite A100-773 Notebook. All works fine and Win 7 has all drivers installed but the FN-Keys and the Card Reader are not working.
On the Support Homepage is no driver oder anything given for this Notebook with Win 7.
Can anyone help me with that?

hi at all,
by now i tried the toshiba value added package for serveral model for win 7 and vista, but before finishing the installation there is an error.
the card reader is now working with card reader criver for win vista.
Does no one know how to fix this?!

BBZ10 and Q10 key Features.

Here are some key features of Blackberry Z10 and Q10:
1) The Z10 which has a 4.2-inch screen(1,280 x 768 display), will be sold at an unsubsidized price of $599, but can be obtained through some carriers for $149 with a three-year contract. Pricing for the Q10, the keyboard-equipped sibling, was not made available.
2) At 130 millimeters (5.1 inches) in length and weighing 137 grams (4.8 ounces), Z10 is slightly longer and heavier than the iPhone 5. On the other hand, Blackberry Q10 has a squarish screen measuring 3.1 inches (7.8 centimeters) diagonally.

Can't validate and get key features in PSE12

My problem:
My Photoshop Elements 12 purchased from Amazon seems to be lacking features such as access to layers, etc.. Here's the series of events that I initiated. One of these might have thrown off things.
a) Downloaded a free 30 day trial version of PCE12.
2) Saw a good deal at Amazon and decided to purchase.
3) Don't have a DVD player so instead of using the discs I went online and after uninstalling the 30 day trial version I downloaded and installed (what could have been the same 30 day version) At some point I was prompted and entered my new serial number.
So I have a running copy of PSE12 but w/o key features. Is that typical of the trial version? Will these features such as 'layers' capability appear only after I have validated? I can't seem to get the validation going. Appreciate any help out there. Forget the phone help; it's at least a three hour wait. And are they charging me too?

Modbus Ethernet read and write to a Eurotherm 6180XIO Modbus server using LV8.2 shared variables

I am having EXTREME difficulty trying to establish communications with a Modbus device using LV8.2 shared variables. The device is a Eurotherm 6180XIO Datalogger configured as a Modbus master. The PC and a cFP-1804 are slaves. All IP addresses are set correctly. This approach using shared variables would seem simple, but I can't find any examples or proper guidance on how to get it working. I am trying to avoid having to mess around with TCP/IP, OPC, or any other old-fashioned method.
I have read many threads on related topics but none directly apply to this situation. I have created a library containing a Modbus I/O server and shared variables bound to read and write holding registers. I have followed all recommended tips for creating such variables but I can neither read or write data. All data types are U16 due to Modbus protocol limitations. I have also applied the LV x10 factor in the most significant digit in the register offset (6 digits instead of 5).
I have a cFP-1804 on the same network which reads into the datalogger OK. The registers I use are 31000 (for CH0 on module 0, 31002 for CH1, etc) and the data can be read as FLOAT32. I have updated the firmwate on the 1804 to the latest level. I cannot even get shared variables to read SGL values. Using registers 301001 for CH0 and 301002 for CH1 I can only read U16 values, and not a 2-word SGL.
Third party Modbus simulation software is able to write to and read from registers very easily, but not LabVIEW.
Some questions are:
- do I use a Modbus master or slave as an I/O server in the library as a target for binding the shared variables?
- is there some other wierd translation in register offsets between LabVIEW and traditional Modbus?
- is this actually possible using shared variables or am I wasting my time?

Sending the whole 60-character string using a string or array would be the most efficient. I have tried both methods, and these only cause the datalogger to flag a message log but no text is displayed.
For a string variable, I have used the following binding "My Computer\Modbus Test.lvlib\ModbusServer6180\442305", where ModbusServer6180 is a Modbus I/O server configured with the logger IP address, and 42304 is the register offset at the start of the text block in the logger. I need to write to 30 consecutive registers starting with this one. I am not using buffering and have not enabled single writer.
Can anyone confirm whether this method should work in 8.2?

How many ways to read and write a local variable in a called VI?

I'm producing my first TestStand sequence. It is called "FirstAttempt" and it is made by a single step which calls a VI. One of the first dilemmas i encountered realizing this sequence is how to read and write a local variable (created going in Variables -> Locals ('FirstAttempt') -> <right click to insert local>) in the called VI.
The first way (the only one i tried) is to create a control and an indicator on the VI front panel, connect them to their respective terminals in the connector pane and then specify (going in Step Settings -> Module) that these connectors (shown in the Parameter Name column) are linked to the local variable (selected in the Value column).
The second way (not tried) consists in using TestStand API: create a Sequence Context reference on the VI front panel, link it to a property node in the block diagram, select the property "Locals" and extract from this the local variable name and value which, i think, can be readable and writable.
So...
Are the shown ways correct?
Are there other ways?
Knowing that a "local" variable can be considered "global" within the whole sequence, is there the possibility to simply create a reference to the local variable and use the reference in the called VI block diagram in order to save space in the connector pane (if using method 1) or in the block diagram (if using method 2)?

Hi,
Before TestStand 3 you would use the second way you quoted as its the only way.
But now you would use the first way you quoted. You may still what to pass the SequenceContext if you were going to use the TestStand API. For TestStand 3.x and above you would use this way as the first chose. (Personnelly, I would not pass the SequenceContext into a VI if I know it was never going to be used in that VI.)
Not sure I understand your final comment, maybe you are liking it to passing the reference of a control to a subVI so that the control can be updated from within the subVI.
If this is the case and you had a situation where you had a step that was running in parallel with the rest of the steps in the sequence either as a separate thread or execution and were dependent on the contents of the local variable changing from that parallel running step, then you would have to use the API SetVal method to change the local.

Read Key and Write Key not working as expected with paths on RT

The configuration file VIs Read Key (Path) and Write Key (Path) don't seem to work as expected (at least not as I was expecting them to) on an RT target.
When working on my WinXP PC with these two VIs, paths are translated to what looks like is supposed to be a device-independent format before being written to disk. The path C:\dir\file.txt becomes /C/dir/file.txt when writing and vice versa when reading. On my RT target, however, that same path is written to disk as C:\dir\file.txt, unchanged from the native format.
The translaton of a native path to and from the device-independent format appears to be the responsibility of Specific Path to Common Path and Common Path to Specific Path. These both use the App.TargetOS property to determine the operating system. In the case structure for these two VIs, however, there is no case for PharLap or RTX. (My RT hardware is runnng PharLap; I don't know enough about RTX to comment.) This means that the results of String to Path or Path to String are used without translating between the device-independent format to the native path format.
This isn't a problem if you create a configuration file on one machine and use it on that same machine. I noticed this only when tranferring a config file from my PC to the RT target, where the target would not open the file paths it loaded from the configuration file.
This occurs on 7.1.1 and 8.0. I don't have 8.20 to see if happens there, too.

In LV 8.2, this was fixed.
The problem is App.TargetOS returns "Pharlap" on RT systems, and "Pharlap" is handled by the default case ("invalid OS target") in LV 8.0. In LV 8.2 the default case is "Windows 95/NT", however. The reason you could write and read an .ini file on RT in LV 8.0 and earlier is because these two VIs (listed below) were both running the default case of "invalid OS target".

As you saw, this fails when you perform one operation in Pharlap but the other in Windows. You can fix this by modifying the two VIs listed above. Just go to the case structure and make "Windows 95/NT" the default case.

Having Truble Reading and Echoing Using PHP in HTML. Possible Variable Scope Problem?

   Thanks for your always knowledgable help! Today I am working with displaying text from a text file in an HTML table using PHP. I can't get the data to display properly, I think it has something to do with the scope of the variables, but I am not sure. Here is the code I am struggeling with:

Wow, what a great little peice of testing code, thanks! That showed me the problem right away! Is there any way to test your php line by line in Dreamweaver CS6? I am used to computer programing in Visual Studio and Eclipse where they have an option of running code line by line and seing how variables populate and change with each line of code execution. Reboot your Mac, as soon as you hear the chime press the option/alt key and hold it until the boot manager appears, select OSX to boot from.

Bad "feature" in Acrobat Reader and Flash downloads

Please turn off the "auto-delete" function of the Adobe Reader and Flash downloads. I have a slow Internet connection and the downloads often time out when getting the install. I then have to go back to the site and download the .exe file all over again, as it auto-deletes whether it was successful or not. Very frustrating!

Hi again! I downloaded Mozilla and am VERY pleased with it. Can't believe how much better it is working than IE (I shouldn't be surprised, I know). Thank you very much! I did actually get Flashplayer 7 and once I figured out where to put it it does definitely make a difference. Had to put other things in the plug-ins folders of the browsers too. I still have a lot to learn!! It will still take a little getting used to use Mozilla. I had a little struggle with setting up the toolbar but I seem to have gotten over that hurtle. Should be interesting to see what the kids say when they use it.
After all this, it looks like we are actually about ready to order a new iMac. I realised though that if I want to keep this one running in such form as to be able to print homework assignments, etc. I will need to upgrade to OS 10.3.9 in order to use the new printer. The old one came with the computer in Aug. 01 and is unreliable these days but new ones will likely not install on OS 9.2.2 (sigh). So what would it involve to upgrade? Pure Mac did not have downloads for Panther (smile). I also did not find it in the Apple Store when I searched for it. Amazing how well the Apple Store works on Mozilla! I am so excited!!

After reading and resetting everything with Keyboard I still get blank white screen. The only way I can boot to Mavericks is unplug power cord, push and hold power button while plugging power cord in. Fans at full speed.

The mid 2011 IMAC had the same problem with LION. I changed hard drives, formatted, and installed a clean install of latest os x mavericks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd start by getting rid of the following software responsible for these extensions.

Use the uninstaller provided with the Sophos software. You can uninstall CUDA via the preference pane. Be sure you remove the com.nvidia.CUDA extension which is located in the /System/Library/Extensions/ folder. Not sure if Fan Control has an uninstaller so you will have to do it manually:
Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications. Here is a selection:

Be sure to remove your two Login Items. Finally do this:
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

I sugggest you try my application, Dates to iCal. It is shareware with a 2 week trial period.
Dates to iCal 2 is a replacement for Apple's birthday calendar for iCal. It has a range of features to allow the user to choose what, and what not, to sync to iCal from Address Book.
As well as automatically syncing birthday dates from Address Book, Dates to iCal 2 can sync anniversary and custom dates. It can set up to five alarms for each date in iCal and can also set different alarms for birthdays and anniversaries. It allows the option of only syncing from one Address Book group. This application also allows for the titles of the events sent to iCal to be modified to the user's preference.

Weird delay reading shared variables

Hello,
I'm working on a project were I'm monitoring some prodution lines. I'm using DSC module's OPC server to connect to PLCs on the production line and I've created bound variables on my labview project of the PLC's tags.
On my project I have one main VI were I show information about the production lines and were I can access several subVIs were I show other information about those lines. Then I have a VI that is running in background were I'm reading about 50 shared variables from the PLC and where I'm registering some data in a MySQL database, datalogging data on the Citadel database and registering alarms.
The problem I'm having is that on the VI that runs in background I noticed a delay reading the variables that are reading containers weights from the production line. It seems that all the other shared variables don't suffer any delay, only the weight variables start having some delay when the values are increasing. It also seems like that, when I'm only running that VI alone, without running the main VI, there isn't any kind of delay. I'm reading the shared variables as shared variable nodes.
Can anybody help me understand what's happening and how can I fix this delay? The VI that runs in background is time critical and a weird delay like that messes up my data.

Hi Mateus23,
The shared variable has various buffering capabilites, including integration with the Real-Time FIFO feature in LabVIEW Real-Time.
I guess that the buffering settings are causing the unexpected behavior.
