February ALVIN Meeting

MEETING NOTICE:
ALBUQUERQUE LABVIEW INTEREST NETWORK (ALVIN): Meeting, Thursday, February
15th, 2007 at 11:15 AM at Ktech Inc., 10800 Gibson SE, Albuquerque, NM
87123. Topic: ³Converting an Existing LabVIEW for Windows Application to
a Real-Time Project². Contact: alvin-nm.org for more information.

Hi Larry,
It's great to see that you are still setting the worldwide standard for how to organize and run an independant LabVIEW UG - good job!
Unfortunately NI still has issues (sorry; "challenges") keeping the NI website up to date here.
However, I will recommend anyone around Albuquerque to attend an ALVIN meeting - you're lucky to have Larry and Rob in the area...

• Poll: SDN Meet in the US East/Midwest - Which City?

Hi All,
The SDN meets always seem to be happening in the west! I think it is high time one happens in our side of the U.S. Since Mark has not gotten around to my post Frankfurt 6th of February SDN Meet! Who is coming?, let us find out which city would attract the most number of members and bring it to the SDN staff's attention!
My choice, I would not mind Washington D.C, Chicago or New York as long as it is on a Thursday/Friday evening.
Cheers,
Ramki Maley.

Hi Ramki,
There is an event that may interest you: SAP NetWeaver Developer Info Days 17th and 18th of May in Orlando. (Just after ASUG)
It cost $250 and it is a quite interesting line up. Rumour has it, that Mister SDN Thomas Jung will be there and may be we can even twist Craig Cmehil's arm to stay a couple of days longer after Sapphire. I hear his boss is leaving him not so subtle messages in the forums about what he should do
Check it out, we will announce more about it here on SDN.
All the best, Mark.

Hi Geert,
TUI menu should be available to all end users. Keep in mind that #641 option is available once you are in the meeting (In session option). So you would need to dial in, join the meeting as a host, and then use this option. Not everyone can record meeting message. Only the host can. And in order to do this, you need to be authenticated with your Profile # and PIN before joining the meeting.
As for Dial-out on first join for continuous meetings, this is configured in Conference Manager > Advanced Options when scheduling a meeting.
As for Fast Blast Outdial feature, this feature can be enabled, but then your system is becoming fully dedicated to Fast Blast Outdial and cannot be used for other scheduled meetings:

If you have EMS, you should be able to do this and this shouldn't be grayed out. I would need to check your configuration to see what might be check for this to be grayed out.

why do my ical invitation acceptances send out multiple acknowledgements to the meeting intiator?

Hi,
Welcome to the  Discussions
So we have DSL Modem <-> Base Station <-> Computer connected by Ethernet.
Is the Modem Routing ?
Is the Base Station set to "Share An IP" ?
(i.e are there two DHCP servers on your LAN ?)
Is Internet Sharing On in th G5s System Preferences > Sharing pane ?
In the Base Station is Port Mapping Protocol Enabled if it is doing routing ?
It is in the NAT tab of the Internet Pane.
Is the G5 also doing WiFi to the Base Station ?
Also check the Modem is not Blocking PINGS as this log shows no PING (But I am not sure it even got that far)

• Unable to Host Video Conference but meet requirements...

Hello,
I currently have a MacBook Pro fully loaded as of less than 1 year ago (2.33GHZ Core 2 Duo, 3GB DDR2 RAM, etc. etc.). February I do believe, actually. Anyways, I more than meet the requirements to host a video conference but when I go to do so it says, "Your computer is not capable of initiating a multiperson video chat." Any thoughts on why it would say this when I clearly am capable? Any ideas on how to fix it?
Thanks,
Frustrated...

Try changing the QuickTime "streaming speed" in your QuickTime System Preferences to something other than "Automatic", and then quit and re-open iChat. (I know, it sounds weird, but it often fixes this problem!)
Thanks, Glen

• Help!!! My iCal has only 28 days for february 2006 , how can I change this

Help!!! My iCal has only 28 days for february 2006 , how can I change this?
Is there a way to fix it?
thanks.

Hi Apnewbie,
I copied the info below from iCal's help pages. I found it by going to the Help>iCal Help menu item in iCal and entering "add event" in the search box.
You might also want to search for "tips" in iCal's help.
1. Click the name of the calendar you want to add an event to.
2. In Day or Week view, drag from the start time to the end time for the event, then type a subject for the event. In Month view, double-click the white area on the day you want the new event to appear, then type a subject.
You can also quickly create a new one hour event by double-clicking in the main calendar view.
3. To make any other changes to your event (for example, how often it repeats or whether it has an alarm), click the Info button in the bottom-right corner of the iCal window to open the Info drawer, and make your choices.
In Day or Week view, you can also open the Info window by double-clicking the bar along the top of the event (where the event's start time appears).
If the selected event will take place in a different time zone (for example, if you will be traveling to another location for a meeting), choose iCal > Preferences and make sure the "Turn on time zone support" checkbox is selected in the Advanced pane. Then choose a time zone for this event from the "time zone" pop-up menu in the Info drawer.
For more information about changing the alarm, time zone, or how often the event occurs, click "Tell me more."
4. To invite someone to the event, click None next to "attendees" and type the email address of each person you want to invite, separated by commas. When you're ready to invite these guests to your event, click the Send button at the bottom of the Info drawer.
If you're inviting someone whose contact information is stored in your Mac OS X Address Book, you can also type just their name in the attendees field. Matching email addresses appears as you type.
For more information about inviting guests to events, click "Tell me more."
