Fell in the mud with my Canon 7D :( Is it ruined???
Sunk in mud up to my knees yesterday while trying to photograph close to a lake. I was holding my camera with the lens pointing skyward, but the bottom left side of my camera went into the mud. Is it ruined? I have it drying right now hoping the mud will dry and I can brush it off.

Muddy water damage is notoriously corrosive and you should have your camera service ASAP. The dirt granuals in suspension can penetrate hinges and dials leading to premature (read EXPENSIVE) repairs. Better to just bite the bullet and let the Canon staff give it a thorough cleaning.

Second question:
I created a template and set up the NavBar with simple links (did not use Spry menu). Formatted these links to be white because they were against a dark background. Problem is that any links I create in the main content area also turn white therefore are invisible against the white space of this area of the site. Is this a case where I should be using advanced CSS for descendant selectors (I just starting reading about this)?

I had NO intention whatsoever of opening another account, as I really do have what I need for now. But all those pretty little things at VS got me and then they told me I was an Angel and offered me a preapproval when I went to pay, and from there I was shopping on the last day of the semi-annual sale with a new account to go along with deeply discounted bras and free shipping. Granted, I did think it through when I got the pop-up, and I know this isn't a card that will get much use as I only shop there during the semi-annual or other really good deals but I think the Comenity cards grow quickly and the VS point/reward system is pretty good. Also, I don't plan on ceasing to wear nice underwear anytime soon so I didn't have to twist my arm much to accept the offer lol SN: This was my first ever pop-up as I just started my credit rebuilding journey in Jan. of this year, so it did feel really good to see that I'm making enough progress for banks to notice. I'll be paying this bill as soon as I receive my card in a week or so and heading back into the garden!'

When I print a photo to my epson printer, it comes out larger than the original photo - so the photo prints beyond the borders. Tried readjusting all sorts of things but nothing helps. I had this same problem with my Canon. any ideas?

Hi I have a question about shooting in Raw with my Canon EOS 6d.
I'm in the process of learning photography and my goal was to start shooting in raw.
I have Photoshop CS5. When I tried to edit my images in raw I received an error message stating, "The photoshop camera raw plug-in did not recognize the format. If these files are from a camera, you may need to update your camera raw plug in."
In researching the issue I read that to edit in raw you need a camera model requirement of at least 7.3 which only works with CS6. My version of CS5 is 6.0.0.205. Being new to all this I see that my options are to upgrade to CS6 or convert by using DNG converter and paying a monthly fee. Two things I know nothing about and don't know which is would be more beneficial.
I'd appreciate any advise on which route to go and how upgrade and what it may cost. THANKS in advance!

That is correct. Your camera was first supported by Camera Raw 7.3. Camera Raw 7.3 will not work with CS5. You need CS6 or CC.

It all depends on your preferred workflow and your budget.
Using the DNG converter is free. There is no monthly fee. You use the converter to convert all Raw files from the EOS 6D to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS5. That's an extra step every time - every photo. Some people don't like the extra step. Others don't mind.

My audio files no longer sync to the in the 5d in camera audio. It did when I bought the program but no longer does I reinstalled and it still will not sync the files recorded on the H4N with the Canon 5D Mark II Camera.
The program used to import and transcode the Can 5D footage but no longer does. The program freezes often and looses my projects as well. I shoot with a Canon 7D, have Windows 7 installed on my computer, Adobe CS4 (Bridge & Photoshop). I'm trying to open the CR2 files in Bridge to adjust them before I open them up in Photoshop, but it's giving me an error code saying it's the wrong file type. I downloaded the latest updates for Adobe Raw as well as the DNG converter, however I don't want to have to convert to DNG before opening in Bridge. Please let me know what I can do to open the CR2 files directly in Bridge CS4, thank you!

I have Photoshop Elements 9. I downloaded the plug in 6.0 and it works on the RAW files from Canon EOS 60D, but not with Canon EOS 70D. I cannot download higher versions of plug in, because I have Windows Vista and it is not supported.
You could try using the DNG converter 8.7 on Windows vista:

I'm using a MacBook Snow Leapord and I'm trying to connect it with my Canon MP560 printer/scanner.
I installed the CD and followed along with the manual and did everything it asked, at the end it told me it was finished.
So then I went to go print something and an error had occured so i went to the file menu on Microsoft Word for
Mac and clicked Print/Add Printer and then i click on the Canon MP560 series-1 as it was the only one to click on.
When I did it stated that I already has a Queue for this printer and if I'd like to add a new one so I clicked continue and nothing
had happend. PLEASE HELP

Laura.I would recommend to download the driver appropriate for your system from the Canon webiste or, after installing it, to run software update and it will detect it for you.
If you have the last driver appropriate for your system, you may wish to reset the printing system. To do this, go to Sys prefs/print and fax and, upon clicking minus button, also press Option/alt key. You will be asked to confirm, do it. Then, add the printer by pressing plus button, it should work now.
But, before doing this, download the last good driver, CDs usually contain outdated drivers. -
Problem with the RAW images from Canon 5d Mark III
hope you are doing good. i need your opinion regarding a phenomena i am observing in the RAW images from Mark iii.
The following images appear to be absolutely correct in the camera and when viewed through a picture viewer.
I have tried and tested the following scenarios:
1. Used a medium speed kingston CF Card (new) and transferred the images through the USB cable supplied with the camera.
2. Thought the card might be slow OR faulty.. used Sandisk Extreme and Extreme Pro SD Cards but same result.
3. Transferred SD Card data through the builit in laptop card reader.
4. Have directly imported the images from SD Card into Lightroom 4.3, copied the data firstly to laptop HDD and then imported, copied the SD card data to an external HDD and then copied. .... same result!!
5. Have tried the same with both Win7 and Mac OS.
6. The DPP sw that came with the camera gives the error of 'Decoding Failed' with these images.
Usually 10-15 images out of 100 give this kinda pattern. so i was hoping if you can guide me what is going wrong here !!!The camera and PictureViewer are likely showing you the embedded JPG, while DPP and LR are decoding the raw data which appears to be corrupted. Assuming you have formatted your SD cards in the camera and the issues are always in the same positions in the same images when you transfer them multiple times from the card to different computers via different methods, then the data is on the card that way.
If the embedded JPG is ok then the sensor is ok, so something between the sensor-readout and the storage on the card appears to be failing intermittently, and it’s time to talk to Canon, I think. -
Mountain Lion stopped working with our Canon MX310 Printer? Why is the software not available from the Software Update Server?
The printer and ICA scanner driver is available from Apple. There is probably some other reason why you cannot get the drivers.
You can also get the drivers from Canon.
But reading your post it sounds like you were printing to the MX310 and recently it has stopped printing. Is this the case?
