Fetch the characteristic of multiple BATCHs in one shot

Dear Expert,
I am facing performance issue in custom report and on analysis i have found that this because of calling the function module 'CLAF_CLASSIFICATION_OF_OBJECTS' in loop to get batch characteristics .
Report is calling the function module more than 60,000 to get batch characteristics.
Is there any function module, BAPI or any class to get the all batch characteristics in one shot instead of calling individual batch .

Directly fetch characteristic values from AUSP table instead of using FM in Loop.

From Node A, get the values of the attributes as
lo_NodeA->GET_STATIC_ATTRIBUTES( IMPORTING STATIC_ATTRIBUTES = ls_attributesA ).
Similarily get all the node values from B, C, D and E.
Finally append all your ls records to the table.

SRM Contract Download - Multiple contracts in one shot

For one contract we can click on Download button while viewing the contract (Use Firefox instead if IE6 or 7. Does not work in IE) to download contract to Excel.
Is there any mechanism by which we can download a bunch of contracts in one shot to Excel ( I have > 150 contracts that need to be download). Going one by one is a time consuming affair.

There is no standard feature to download multiple contracts in one shot.
You will have to develop it by yourself.
Take care about performance if you download 150 contracts at same time.....

How do you change the volume for multiple clips in one go?

Im having some trouble with audio. Im posting this in a rush so sorry in advance if its a bit muddled! Im editing snow reports with a journo piece to camera (track one lapel microphone) with overlay (track two nat sound ).
1. is there a way to only bring in track one only and track two only from the source monitor?
2. Is it possible to adjust the volume on multiple clips that are on the timeline (so that i can bring down the nat sound for all of the overlay track two)
At the moment im bringing them into the timeline and adjusting them individually. I tried lowering the volume on one clip and saving it as a preset but it wont let me.

Duplicate the audio once editing is done. In the Mixer window, apply the Fill Left effect to one audio track, and the Fill Right effect to the other. Then adjust the mixer appropriately.

How to delete multiple InfoObjects in one shot?

Hello Experts,
Is there any way to delete a bunch of InfoObjects / ODSs in one shot?
Scenarios:
1. We have thousands of custom IO which are no use any more and we want to get rid of these IO to save space. How to do it?
2. We have thousands of custom ODS too which need to be deleted. We want to delete ODS which are not used any more and also the InfoObjects in ODSs which are not used by any other ODS or any other places. How do I do that in one shot?
BTW way our BW is 3.1 version but will be upgrading soon.

Hi,
goto RSD1 and mark the option "Free Selection of IObjs"
Hit the Maintain button In the next screen Select your IObjs to be maintained (at this stage the system will lock the selected IObj !!)
In the next screen mark the IObjs you want to delete
Then Menu Characteristics / Delete (shift + F2)
this should work.
Alternatively, try developping an ABAP based on function module RSDG_IOBJ_MULTI_DELETE.

Greying out multiple fileds in one shot?

I am developing a interactive form (visitor info form) with webdynpro ABAP.
In the initial screen of my_webdynpro, there are couple of radio buttons, US, Europe, Asia.
If user selects US radio button: I have to greyout & readOnly the below 4 input text fields (pls. note these input fields are SCATTERED all around the FORM at different positions, subforms, pages, corners)

First of all, instead of greying out the fields, you could make them Read Only in this way..
TextField1.access = "readOnly";
To make them editable again, you could use
TextField1.access = "open";
As for your current problem, I think there is some amount of code that has to be repeated..
But I have small solution in mind. Maybe it would be useful.
1) Create 3 hidden text fields - one each for the radio button value.. (US, Europe, Asia etc)
2) As soon as the radio button is selected, set the corresponding hidden text field to readOnly or open accordingly..
3) In each of the text fields's 'Calculate' event , write the following script.
this.access = Hiddenfield_US.access;

Printing the same page multiple times on one sheet

So last year I wanted to print out minature versions of my card design and I was able to do that by printing out multiple copies of the same thing on one sheet of paper. Of course that was a while ago and now today I can't do the same thing. I remember printing the same page(copy) multiple times either in acrobat or indesign. I see that I have a front and back version for last years card and I'm assuming I must have done it in acrobat. Last year when I looked at the preview there was multiple copies of my page. This year I only see 1 even as I choose the other things. At first I thought it might have been the version I was using on my windows as opposed to the version on my mac. But now I'm on my mac and I still don't see how I did it last year. Please help! I keep reading that this can't be done but I remember doing the same thing last year. It was the 16 copies of the same thing option. I tried it again this time but it doesn't work. I tried printing the 4 copies only 1 copy was printed.(the preview didn't even show all copies like last year) The verson of acrobat is X. version 10.1.4

What exact version of iPhoto 9 are you using? Version 9.5's solution will be different from the solution for earlier versions of iPhoto 9.

Xsan right for this? Pooling the drives in multiple towers into one volume

I have a possibly wacky idea to install secondary hard disks in each of our several towers and somehow pool them all together into a single virtual volume that all the servers could mount.
Each server would have its own set of files for which it would be the primary server, as with an affinity. But all of the servers in the cluster would be able to see all the files of all the other servers, as if they were all sharing a big xserve raid.
The advantages would include making use of the equipment we have and compartmentalizing potential failures.
The alternative would be to mount all the shared volumes of all the servers on all the other servers, which is difficult to manage.
Is this something Xsan would be good for?

It's for web hosting. We already have the cluster in place and operational for apache and our applications.
Yes, I'm trying to optimize server resources -- but I'm referring to storage resources, not computing.
Consider a number of servers. They're all configured identically as far as the web hosting is concerned, so any of them can respond to requests for any site.
As far as files are concerned, however, each server has the static files (photos, images) and scripts for only a handful of sites. Server A has all the photos for web site X, Y, and Z. Server B has all the photos for web site T, U, and V. And so on.
Right now, for all the servers to have access to all of these files, I have to mount a share from each server onto each server. In other words, Server A has servers B, C, and D mounted. Server B has A, C, and D mounted. Etc.
What I'd like to do is put all of the files that all servers need onto one virtual volume. That way each server only has one volume to mount. Also, I can add and remove storage to the virtual volume as needed.
My question is, could Xsan bundle together internal hard drives from individual servers into one virtual volume? It would be like having an Xraid, except each drive is in a different tower.
I could tie together all the secondary internal drives from all the G5's into what I would think would appear to Xsan to be a JBOD box.
But the XYZ files would stay on Server A, and the TUV files would stay on Server B, thanks to an affinity set to that effect. But all the files for all the sites would appear and be available to all the other servers through the same single virtual volume.
Does that make a little better sense?
It's not so much for the sake of load balancing at the file level. It's more a matter of convenience and availability. If server B goes down, only sites TUV would be affected, you see, while all the other sites continue operating.
I guess I'm envisioning more of a collaborate approach among the towers, rather than putting all the eggs in one Xraid basket.

Multiple recording in one shot

I'm using captivate 8 and here is my huge problem:
I want to do a demonstration (Software Simulation) of a software in multi languages (3 languages-> FR, EN, DE)
Is there a solution to launch only one software simulation (demonstration) and retrieve 3 projects in my 3 different languages (tooltips + background) ?
If it's not possible with Captivate, should I do 3 recordings for a software with 3 languages, or 10 recordings if my software has 10 different languages ? ...
Is there a simple solution ?

Try this (not my instructions and I haven't tried it, but it apparently does work):

Also take care in using some characters (like spaces, single quotes, double quotes and others) since they may do things in the unix shell that you're not going to expect. In short TEST this with a single host (then maybe 2 and then 3 or 4) first before trying to change 100 machines all at once. In fact, it might just pay to have a 2nd local admin account just in case things get really mucked up.
Also remember that if you're changing the password of the account you're using to run ARD you'll need to re-authenticate with the machine('s) using the new password before ARD will be able to work with them again."

Multiple batches for a production order and mapping with components

Hello Gurus,
Our business requires to create multiple batches for one production order + they want to trace which component in the production order has been issued to the main equipment.
For example, I am creating production order for 'A' equipment for 4 qty. Business wants to create 4 different batches for these equipment
Lets say now 4 batches are created A001, A002, A003 and A004.
Now lets assume 2 nos of 'B' component are required for 1no of 'A' component. So the requirement of B component is 8.
Lets say 8 batches are generated B001, B002 ......B008
Now lets say batch B001 and B002 are issued for A001 and packed together. How do we map this?
I understand we can do some enhancement for creating the multiple batches but I still dont know how to map them with each other.
Please help

There is a functionality called WIP batches, that allows you keep the batch traceability within an order.
With WIO batches you can track which batch of component was used to produce each batch of finished product.

Performance troubles when fetching the descriptions

I have some bad performances in a web interface. I could correct some of them help to aggregates, but I am facing a bizarre situation.
I have one variable for 0EMPLOYEE. I fetch the characteristic values help to an exit function, and this works fast and well.
However, I display the description of the employees and not their key codes. I am not coding anything for fetching the descriptions, I let SAP BPS standard do the job.
When I trace the system, it appears that SAP creates a view joining the tables /BI0/QEMPLOYEE and /BI0/TEMPLOYEE, in order to get TXTMD. I do not understand why ... I already have the key codes needed to fetch the descriptions. I do not use any attributes for the descriptions.

I have the same problem with 0VENDOR, whose variable is not based on exit function but hierarchies. No problem to collect the list of the vendors, but the same problem when fetching their descriptions.

For a similar problem which I had faced earlier with
Material InfoObject, we had to create indexes on the
Master Data and also we put restrictions on the level
definitions on the Material InfoObject to look at some
selective Materials rather than million of them.This
approach worked and the amount of time it took to
display reduced to one eighth of the original time.

"Save as PDF" breaks up the document into multiple PDFs

Ever since my Lion install, when I open a doc in MSWord and try to "Save as PDF", it breaks up the document into multiple PDFs, not one saved PDF. Haven't seen this problem before. Anyone else experiencing this new "feature"?

What version of Word? It's working fine with my Word 2011 on Lion. (version 14.1.2. Applied SP1 and the .2 update.)
A workaround would be to print, then select the PDF dropdown in the lower corner of the print window.
Otherwise, you'll probably want to ask in the Microsoft forums, as Save As is using Word's programming code, not OSX's code like it does with the print function.
