Few fundamental Question- Project IMG and BBPs

Dear All
I have few basic question and will appreciate answers ,. points will be awarded as well.
1. Is there any difference between Enterprise IMG and Project IMG ( or is there any thing such as Enterprise IMG exists in Solman).
2. Can scope of project IMG be changed once it has been creted and saved. ( if yes then Steps plz)
3.How to create BBP nodes in Solar02 based on Project IMG.
Regards

Hi Nayab,
1. In simple terms, Project IMG is a sub-set of Enterprise IMG, based on what you scope in. It can also be a mirror image of Enterprise IMG (meaning - all entries can be included in Project IMG). If you go to SPRO transaction in the given satellite system (R/3, CRM ...), you'll find different icons in front of each IMG node, under Project IMG - that is to let you 'document' your activities. Enterprise IMG is the core or reference IMG that SAP provides out of the box.
2. Yes. it can be changed. But, I am unable to list steps here
3. By BBP nodes in SOLAR02, what did you mean ? I have heard the term BPP (Business Process Procedure) or BB (Business Blueprint). Can you elaborate please.
Also, the whole topic of Project IMG Vs. Enterprise IMG is about the satellite system involved  and not on SolMan's own configuration.

  • A Few SEO Questions: Alt="" text and file/folder names.

I've been reading about the Dark Art of SEO and frankly, a lot of it is more confusing than I anticipated.  Anyway, I'll summarise a bit here.I have read that:
File/folder names are better with meaningful words and hyphenated words.  so DCM000123.jpg in a folder called galimg would be better as: /gallery-images/painting-title-here.jpg
Alt="" text can add to the content of your pages.
My thinking underneath this relates to a gallery site I built with around 200 individual paintings in it.  So the site has a lot of content but not a lot of text.  I wonder if I should start trawling through all of this to change the file names and folders and add alt="" text more meaningfully to help with SEO?
So if my thinking is OK, here are the questions.
How would you put the alt="" text on individual images?  I imagine that it should just be a straight-forward, what-you-see description?  But there are a few other options.  Suppose I have an image that the artist has titled, "Cattle on a Hill" and it's an oil on canvas.  I could make that into,
alt="Oil on Canvas: Cattle on a Hill" or
    alt="Cattle on a Hill" or
alt="A group of cows grazing in pasture under moonlight." or
Suppose I have 20 images in a portrait gallery:
alt="Portrait.  Oil on canvas: Joe Bloggs" or
    alt="Portrait.  Joe Bloggs" or
alt="Man with grey hair wearing a blue shirt sitting on a bench" or
alt="Portrait painting.  Oil on canvas. Joe Bloggs: Man with gray hair wearing a blue shirt sitting on a bench"
The second part of the question also includes the problem that if I have 20 images in a single gallery page and I put "Portrait painting" in each alt="" text is that going to look like key word stuffing?
Now on to the file name thing.  Should the file names be portrait-painting-01 and so on or should they be Cattle-on-hill or what?
Final question: am I making too much of all this?
    Thanks
    Martin

First of all, stay away from spaces in file names AT ALL COST.
The examples you cited would look like:
    alt="Oil%20on%20Canvas:%20Cattle%20on%20a%20Hill" or
    alt="Cattle%20on%20a%20Hill" or
    alt="A%20group%20of%20cows%20grazing%20in%20pasture%20under%20moonlight."
    to an SE crawler.
If you really want effective picutres, use Photoshop or Fireworks to embed metadata and THEN add them to your site.
Alt tags means the text that would appear if the image didn't for some reason. It also helps with accessibility for visually impaired viewers who use plug-ins to allow their browser to "speak" the images to them when the page loads.
    <img src="img/example-1.jpg" width="128" height="160" alt="example-1.jpg" />
Above is an example of how to add alt text. Dreamweaver actually loads the alt tag automatically unless you've turned it off somehow.
Either put the info in the Alt box in the properties panel, or in code view, add it between the quotes.
To the second part of your question, Alt tags are meant for SEO with the images only (Like when you search for images of a certain name or containing certain tags)
and really have little effect on the page SEO itself. For that type of optimization you want Keywords, and Descriptors in the <head> portion of the
    individual page:
    <meta name="google-site-verification" content="Optimizer code would go here" />
<meta name="Description" content="Page name, site name, business name, location, phone number, etc. goes here"/>
<meta name="Keywords" content="Restaurant, Sports bar, Catering, Hotel, Gallery, Car Dealer, Exterminator or whatever describes the site and page as well as content of the pages"/>
    <meta name="author" content="your name here"/>
<meta name="robots" content="index, follow"/> (This tells search engine crawlers to index this page and each one you add it to,  and follow them site wide)
<meta name="revisit-after" content="7 days"/> (This tells the crawler when to revisit for updates after it has indexed the site)
To your last question. No, you're not making too big a deal out of it, if you're talking about exposure for a business. If it's a personal gallery of your favorite vacation pictures? You just might be.

  • Few basic questions about sharing and other stuff..

    Hi there!
First of all I know where are "101" pages, but they are not giving detail information.
1.I know there are some folders where I can put files, web-sites and other in order to enable sharing.
What do I have to do to enable other users (from internet to)
    - view my webpage when they enter my IP address in browser
    - to access files which I want them to be able to acces (with user and password required)? I know there is sth like sharing, and windows sharing, but I give access to my all user folder, do I have to create new accounts on my mac?
    2. It's kind of small problem, but can I run apps in finder using only keyboard (enter causes rename action)
    3. Why doesn't safari keep addresses I used in addres field after few days?
The most important question is 1.
    Will be gratefull for help.
    Thanks
    Adam Mscisz

    1. Start Personal Web Sharing from the Sharing pane of System Preferences; if you have a router between your computer and the Internet, ports 80 and 443 need to be forwarded to your computer. You can set this up from the router's configuration page, which is accessible by finding the router address in the Network pane of System Preferences and putting it into a web browser. See this article for instructions on how to password protect your shared files.
    2. You can use the Command and O keyboard shortcut to open the selected item in the Finder.
    3. The default setting in Safari is to keep the history for 7 days. You can use the method posted by ptejad in this article to extend the time Safari remembers the history for. The method at the top of the linked page won't work in Tiger.

  • Fundamental Question about Lightroom and saving images

I have to laugh as I get ready to pose this question because I've been working with the program for two weeks with Scott Kelby's book and with Lynda.com, and I'm still profoundly confused about what is happening to the photo. To wit: I open a camera raw file in lightroom and start playing with it, even taking snapshots at various stages along the way. If I don't export the photo to Photoshop and save it there, what becomes of these changes? Do they stay with the photo always? Do they disappear when I shut down the program? There's no SAVE button with Lightroom which just plain flummoxes me! Can anyone 'splain this to me, please? Thanks.

To clarify. Nothing happens to your originals. Lightroom stores the edits in a database (and if you wish alongside the original in a xmp sidecar file) as a set of instructions that the program uses to recreate the end product by following the instructions. These instructions are changed in the database while you're changing parameter values in Lightroom, so there is no need to save. Also, Lightroom stores a history of changes you did, so you can always go back. Both Lightroom and Adobe's camera raw plugin for photoshop can be used to follow the set if instructions. This way, you always get the highest fidelity image and you can always go back to your development choices without loosing any quality or having to dig up backups. Because of this, you can create multiple virtual copies with different development approaches without having to make a copy of the original and therefore saving you gobs and gobs of disk space. When you need a file for consumption such as a jpeg for a web page, simply export a copy, which burns in your development changes in a developed copy (just like printing a negative would have in the olden days) and trash the copy when you're done with it. You can always recreate it very quickly. This is a radically different approach than you're probably used to.

  • Few questions on Templates and Favorites

    Experts,
Few fundamental questions on Templates and Favorites...
    1) Can Favorites be shared with other users?
    2) Can Templates be transported across systems (Dev or QA or PRD) ?
    3) Can Templates be shared across planning area ( Yes, KF names are same across planning area?
    Any insights appreciated!!!
    Thanks
    Krishna

    Hello Krishna
    1. No, favorites are user specific and are not shared. Templates are.
    2. There are no transports in the traditional sense in S&OP. So a Template can't really be transported. What you can do, however, is open a Template in DEV, for example, then log off and log back on - just this time to QA or PRD. This assumes you have the same planning area, KF etc.in each system. Now you can add it to the templates in QA or PRD ... this is how you get it from one system to another.
    3. I believe they are not shared between planning areas. If you make a planning area copy, I think they might come over but if you built a new PA2 from scratch, the ones you have in PA1 won't be there. If you want to get a planning view template from one PA to another, you basically follow the steps as in my answer to your second question. Again, for sharing a planning view Template between Planning Areas the attributes, time profiel and key figures you use have to be the same.
    Hope this helps,
    Jens

  • Fundamental question on EJB, JNDI and client jars

    Hi,
This is a very fundamental question on EJBs and their clients - what
all should go into the client jar of an ejb?
I know for sure that just the remote and home interface classes of the
ejb are sufficient on the client's classpath to work with an EJB on a
totally different server, but I dont understand the logic behind it.
If the client has to pass its object parameters over the network to
the server where the ejb bean is located, should the container
generated stub not be present on the client's classpath? After the
client does the JNDI lookup of the ejb home on the server, how does it
serialize and pass the parameters over the network if the container
    generated stub is not present?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pointers to material on the
internet which explain this/related things in detail would be a great
    help.
    Thank you,
    Anoushka

    hello,
well, the process is fairly simple actually.. The client needn't necessarily have
the container generated stub. as a client u could contact what is known as a boot-strap
service to download the stub over the wire.. infact one of the advantages of RMI
is precisely that. and since RMI is the underlying architecture of EJBs, it all
becomes rather simple. when u 'lookup' a bean, what u are in essence doing is
asking the server to send down the stub to your JVM. well.. right now this is
what i got time for..i will try to post a lengthier explanation in a couple of
    days at leisure..

  • Questions on SPINCOUNT and Semaphores

    Hello,
I have a few more questions on SPINCOUNT and semaphores.
    1) The documentation states that SPINCOUNT = 0 (default) uses the spincount "built into the delivered binary".
    - How can I find out what the built-in spincount is?
    - What is the built-in spincount for a native client?
    2) "Semaphore appears stuck" (Q_CAT 1447) is reported when the semaphore for a queue cannot be obtained.
    - Does SPINCOUNT also apply to queue semaphores?
    - What is the timeout for the semop? Ie, how long does a process wait before reporting 1447?
    3) Is there a similar (to Semaphore appears stuck) error for other semaphores, such as GTT, AOM, etc)?
    - If yes, what is the timeout?
    Thanks...
    Roger

    Roger,
    1) The default SPINCOUNT value is 0 (no spinning) for all platforms that are supported today. (At one time we had a default value of 5000 for Sequent hardware, but it has been many years since we supported that platform.) The SPINCOUNT value that will work best for any application depends on many factors, including the number of CPUs on the machine, the hardware platform, and the indvidual application. SPINCOUNT will only be useful when the machine has more than one CPU.
    2) /Q logs Q_CAT:1447 after 50 unsuccessful attempts to obtain the semaphore when the semaphore has never been released and reobtained by a different process or the same process during that period. The Access Control List code uses the same rule for logging LIBTUX_CAT:1511. If TMSPINCOUNT is set, then the number of unsuccessful attempts to obtain the semaphore is incremented by 1 only after TMSPINCOUNT spins have been done.
Code for the BB semaphore and the semaphore used by /Domain follows a different rule. This code will log LIBTUX_CAT:5005 or LIBGW_CAT:5010 if a process has to wait for the semaphore for 10 seconds and the semaphore has never been released by the original owner during this time period.
    3) TMSPINCOUNT is used for the BB semapahore, AOM semaphore, ACL semaphore, /Domain semaphore, and /Q semaphore. Locking the GTT uses the same BB semaphore that used to lock other tables in the BB.

  • Fundamental questions before starting next project

Last project I put together received scathing criticism - and I have to say that I did not put any effort at all to clean the code up or optimize it. The reason is I started with small projects and within couple of months it just grew out of hand with requirements matrix gradually increasing.
So this time around I want to take advice from you guys on architecture issues before I jump into programming. The two fundamental questions:
    1) I always thought that SubVi is like a method in C++. If I need to use that code multiple times, then I better put it in a SubVi. But after going through some of the posts on this forum it seems that people use SubVis to reduce # of wires, blocks, etc. on the main Vi too. Is this a standard practice?
    2) If I want to have more than 1 VI in the software, what is the best way to send data from one VI to the other VI? SubVI has input and output wires. So it is easy. But VIs do not. Basically I want to have Main VI where I get all the information from the use through a front panel and then go off doing my data acquisition. I want to keep the Main VI as clean as possible. There will be some operations which will need only 1 input and will have only 1 output. But this operation will be used only once in the who operation. So can I have this operation all in a VI and then call it in the Main VI?
    3) If I have 3 different VIs in my application, and I define something (say an array) in the Main VI or for that matter second_VI.vi in my application, will that be available in the third_VI.vi ?
    Thanks in advance.

You could call it similar to a method.  I would say a subroutine or function is a better terminology since the term method is more applicable to object oriented based programming.  Basically any way to encapsulate a portion of code, particularly if you use it over and over.  It might have input and/or outputs, or neither.
    2) If I want to have more than 1 VI in the software, what is the best way to send data from one VI to the other VI? SubVI has input and output wires. So it is easy. But VIs do not. There is no difference between a VI and a subVI other than semantics.  Both are completely independent excecutable portions of code.  Your main or top-level VI can have inputs and outputs as well.  You could execute it stand alone, or it could become a subVI of an even higher portion of code in your hierarchy.  The only difference between the two is that a subVI is just a term to distinguish it as being a portion of a higher level of code.  There are multiple ways of passing data between VI's.  One is wires.  When a subVI ends, the data on its indicator that is connected to the panel is available to travel down the wire to another portion of code.  Another is global or shared variables which stores data to be used by multiple locations.  Another is a function global variable, a LV2 style variable, or action engine.  All of these use special characteristics of uninitialized shift registers to store data between calls of that subVI.  Other methods of sharing data are on the Synchronization pallette such as queues and notifiers to store and pass data.
Using a subVI, even it used in only 1 location can help keep a portion of your block diagram clear.  It gives you the ability to hide some details such as a complicated algorithm.  You can write an algorithm as a subVI and it gives you the ability to test the inputs and outpus as a standalone.  Once you have that. You can drop it in and use it even if it is only at 1 location.  If you need to change it, you can modify the subVI and test it without risking the corruption of the rest of your main VI
    3) If I have 3 different VIs in my application, and I define something (say an array) in the Main VI or for that matter second_VI.vi in my application, will that be available in the third_VI.vi ?
Possibly, it all depends on which of the methods listed in number 2 you would like to use.
    Thanks in advance.

  • A few questions about MacBooks and Parallels Desktop.

I have a few questions about MacBooks and Parallels Desktop.
    1) I understand I need at least 1GB of RAM to run Parallels Desktop but what about the hard drive, is the stock 60GB drive big enough?
    2) Related to question 1, even if it was big enough to allow me to install and run Windows would the 60GB drive be enough if I wanted to install a Linux distribution as well?
    3) This has nothing to do with Parallels Desktop but thought I'd ask it here anyway, do Apple Stores carry just the stock MacBooks, or do they carry other configurations?
    Thanks
    Keith

    1. Depend on how intensive you use that HD for saving data on both Mac OS and XP. For standard installation on both OS X and XP, the space of 60 Gb is enough.
    2. Same answer as no 1. You can install all three on that HD space, but the extra spacce available will be less and less for your data. You can save your data on external or back up on cd/dvd and erase it from the HD to keep the free space.
Remember to leave at least 2 or 3 Gb for virtual memory usage.
    3. Just call them, maybe they don't have it in store stock, but by appointment they might configure one for you before your pick-up date.
    Good Luck

  • How can I make my question slide look and act like the rest of the project?

    Hi,
I have created my project without using a template. Each time I needed to create a new screen I simply duplicated the slide and then inserted new text. This worked quite well. However, when I tried to do this for a question slide, it wouldn't let me (obviously).
Is there a way of customising a question slide to look exactly like the rest of my project (and have the interactivity on the slide that the rest of the project has)? When I tried designing a new template and question template side and applying it to the question slide in my project, I could only insert a static image as the background on the template slide. Needless to say, there was no interactivity on the slide, i.e. no active click boxes etc, and I couldn't add these either when I applied it to the slide.
Any help is much appreciated. This is for a Masters project, so I'm still learning the basics.
    Thanks.

    Hi Lilybiri,
I am using Captivate 4. All of my screens so far look like a website - with menus and makeshift spry menus (image maps with click boxes). My preference is to use this layout for the question slides. However, it sounds like this isn't possible. What do other people do to make their question slides look a part of the course?
    Thanks.

I bought CS3 several years ago while in school, but had to drop out before I even opened the software. A few months ago I opened and installed the software and used Photoshop to complete a review project in preparation for my return to school. This morning when I tried to open Photoshop again I got a message saying the license didn't support the software anymore and I would need to check with my IT administrator or contact Adobe. I tried calling Adobe but the recorded message said CS was not phone supported. I know it took me a long time to get back to school, but it seems sad to waste the $1,000 I spent on the software. Is there a solution to this issue or do I need to buy new software? Thank you for your help if you have any suggestions.

  • Changes in Project IMG reflects globally?

    Hi  Guys ,
My question is if for example I create a project IMG with multiple countries including  US  and Personnel administration component .Now if I make a change in name formats ( example adding a new title for names in Infotype 0002) in this project IMG name formats node, which I created will this change reflect globally for the countries included in the project IMG .
If yes , so does that mean if any country is included in a project IMG , changes done in project IMG will be reflected irrespective of whether we have changed anything in SAP reference IMG or not .
    Thanks
    Rishabh

When you make a change in a table through a "Project IMG", that change is saved in a transport in a development environment (DEV).  Again, if I am not mistaken, if you look at the same table through an other "Project IMG", through the standard IMG or through t-codes sm30, sm31, se16 or se16n (in DEV), you should see the change you made previously.
P.S.  Just check your latest configuration change to confirm this.

  • A few basic questions by a FCP switcher

    Hello,
I'm doing the switch. FCP has been my platform for 13 years and (yes, sadly) I decided to leave it. I'm working for TV and channels like National Geographic, so I need power and modern software.
I then have a few questions... and many suggestions. I'll get these written down and post them on the requested features page but first, a few Q that have been bothering me since my start...
    1 - /keyboard shortcuts
I'm glad I could choose for the FCP7 shortcut mode. Good point Adobe! Nevertheless,:
-> how can I add a "double-key" shortcut, as "rr" or even, a triple-key one?
-> Shortcuts seems not to be active-window aware. Is there a way to do so? I don't mean totally different  shortcuts but for instance the "zoom to sequence" in the TL and the "zoom to source monitor"/"zoom to program monitor" could have the same shortcut, acting appropriately in the respective window... Is that possible?
-> About the "M" for add marker, if in Premiere Pro (default) shortcut mode, it does a good job as in FCP, adding a marker to the Sequence or to the Clip, depending on if a clip is selected or not. Great, but if I set the shortcuts in the FCP7 mode, and add manually the "M" shortcut for "add marker", it doesn't see the difference. Same goes for the "edit marker" that works well in the default mode when on a marker, but not if the FCP mode is chosen... Can someone help on that?
    2 - /Audio
-> Volume KFs can't be copied-pasted to another track. Neither via "Paste Attributes" nor via KF copy/Paste. Hey guys, FCP did that already 6 years ago... I hope I don't have to tell about the absolute need to be able to do so (when you've worked out your music under a VO and more and that your EP asks you to use another cue... for instance...). Please can someone tell me how to, or Adobe: make this a priority for the next update.
-> the making/editing/moving of volume KF is pretty sluggish... It's not always, but quite often, my audio track blinks crazily when I do that, next to the fact that my cursor is very "sticky" after moving the kf, changing therefore their position as I'm moving away from where I left them.
    3 - /Reveal clip in Project
-> An of course unmissable feature! But I seem to be able to do it only from the TL, and not form the Source monitor... Really unhandy if this is the case. Can someone tell me more if I mistake?
I've plenty of other Q but I don't want to bother you guys too much in one go. And I must say, I feel a bit strange to have to get back to Forums for simple things after 13 years professional editing for TV but ok... That's how it is.
In any case, thanks a lot to who can give me a few tips about these issues.
@ Adobe: You are on the right path to get most of the fcp editors.. Please keep on listenning and implementing; it shows your good will ! There's still many improvments that can be done. THANKS!

    1 - /keyboard shortcuts
I'm glad I could choose for the FCP7 shortcut mode. Good point Adobe! Nevertheless,:
-> how can I add a "double-key" shortcut, as "rr" or even, a triple-key one?
    Hi fede7,
There is no double or tripple tap capability for tool selection in Premiere Pro, sorry.

    Currently, no.

This appears to be a bug: http://www.adobe.com/go/wish

I was able to copy/paste attributes with audio keyframes to a different track. You can file a bug on that.

-> the making/editing/moving of volume KF is pretty sluggish... It's not always, but quite often, my audio track blinks crazily when I do that, next to the fact that my cursor is very "sticky" after moving the kf, changing therefore their position as I'm moving away from where I left them.
Mine looks and feels OK. You may want to file a bug on that one too.

    3 - /Reveal clip in Project
-> An of course unmissable feature! But I seem to be able to do it only from the TL, and not form the Source monitor... Really unhandy if this is the case. Can someone tell me more if I mistake?
This works. Just right click or control click on the Source Monitor.

I've plenty of other Q but I don't want to bother you guys too much in one go. And I must say, I feel a bit strange to have to get back to Forums for simple things after 13 years professional editing for TV but ok... That's how it is.
In any case, thanks a lot to who can give me a few tips about these issues.

Thanks for your post and your feedback. There are some good resources for FCP switchers, so have a look around.
