Changes in Project IMG reflects globally?

Hi Guys ,
My question is if for example I create a project IMG with multiple countries including US and Personnel administration component .Now if I make a change in name formats ( example adding a new title for names in Infotype 0002) in this project IMG name formats node, which I created will this change reflect globally for the countries included in the project IMG .
If yes , so does that mean if any country is included in a project IMG , changes done in project IMG will be reflected irrespective of whether we have changed anything in SAP reference IMG or not .

When you make a change in a table through a "Project IMG", that change is saved in a transport in a development environment (DEV). Again, if I am not mistaken, if you look at the same table through an other "Project IMG", through the standard IMG or through t-codes sm30, sm31, se16 or se16n (in DEV), you should see the change you made previously.
P.S. Just check your latest configuration change to confirm this.

How do you prevent Global Calendar changes from changing the Project Calendars? When Project Calendars are created, they are copied from another calendar, say Global Calendar. Now, when the Global Calendar is updated or changed it changes my Project Calendar. How do you prevent this from occurring?

If the change to the Global Calendar is valid, it IS going to impact all local schedules. The Global Calendar is the basic Enterprise assumption. It is what contracts are written around.
If the projects are using a Global Calendar they are going to forecast the calendar, but a resource's calendar can allow performing a task anytime in the operational plan. That is the nature of high level settings and local or operational variants. Project execution is not nailed to the Global Calendar, Your original schedule forecasted from the Global structure and was accepted. If experience leads you to make change in the Global Calendar, that is reality. You will forecast the added knowledge gained from experience and set in the Global Calendar. If it creates Risk in the existing projects, deal with it locally. You record dynamic adjustments in the Actuals. You forecast local results from to-date actuals and local resource calendars. Management 'is' overcoming Global problems with local resources.
Leave the Global Calendar alone for operational exceptions. Remove exceptions from the Global Calendar. The Global Calendar is for planning. That Global Calendar is still the basic assumption, despite operational problems in your schedule. If the Global Calendar has a holiday, the projects it is assigned to forecast the holiday. Simplify your Global Calendars to match basic, high-level, factual assumptions.
Let your Resource Calendars forecast the detail of operations and overcome the Global Calendar. But actualize what happens no matter what any calendar says so calculation is up to date.
Calendars are strictly for calculation, for forecasting. You can always log progress on Christmas or during Ramadan, just as you logged no progress during the hurricane. But Joe Labor Unit will not forecast performing his task in NYCNY on even a regular Monday if his calendar has him training in Borneo. Cancel Joe's trip and change his calendar. He is available in NYCNY on the date you want now. His forecast changes, the project forecast changes. Primavera is perfectly dynamic. And the project will not forecast work on Christmas or during Ramadan if the Global Calendar says these are exceptions to your usual M-F 8-5 with an hour for lunch. Global Calendars are the sub-structure that we accept in building the initial, accepted Project Schedule and that provide the framework we analyze Risk mitigation around in operations.

The Global Calendar assumes no hurricanes and getting Christmas off. After the hurricane, the PM sets the operational guideline. The workforce is not scheduled to work Christmas in the Global Calendar. In their Resource calendars, now they are. The schedule forecasts work at Christmas. You mitigated the hurricane risk by overriding the Global Calendar with Resource Assignments. If you make those Resource Calendar Christmas adjustments in September when the hurricane hit, you will forecast project completion on time in the next report from P6. You pull completion back to the left after operational realities pushed it out to the right.

Prevent a user from changing the Project ID in P6 EPPM 8.3.7

Does anyone know if there is a Global or Project Security Profile privilege that will prevent a user from changing the Project ID on an existing Project? We are using Primavera P6 EPPM 8.3.7

1. In simple terms, Project IMG is a sub-set of Enterprise IMG, based on what you scope in. It can also be a mirror image of Enterprise IMG (meaning - all entries can be included in Project IMG). If you go to SPRO transaction in the given satellite system (R/3, CRM ...), you'll find different icons in front of each IMG node, under Project IMG - that is to let you 'document' your activities. Enterprise IMG is the core or reference IMG that SAP provides out of the box.
2. Yes. it can be changed. But, I am unable to list steps here
3. By BBP nodes in SOLAR02, what did you mean ? I have heard the term BPP (Business Process Procedure) or BB (Business Blueprint). Can you elaborate please.
Also, the whole topic of Project IMG Vs. Enterprise IMG is about the satellite system involved and not on SolMan's own configuration.

New changes are not getting reflected in the bam reports.

I have created a BPEL process and it polls the data from a table and populate an object created in Bam.I have accomplished the above task by createing two database adaptors.One is on 10g database and another one is on Bam database.I have created a view based on the bamobject and used a database adaptor to populate the data. BPEL process is populating the data properly to that bamobject but those changes are not reflecting to bam reports automaticaly. We need to refresh the report or reprompt the report to see the changes.Could some help me to reslove this issue.

I have tried that option too.But that is also not working. BPEL Procees is able to populate the BAM object with the help of the sensor.But those changes are not getting reflected in BAM Reports.But if i create or update an existing record in BAM object through BAM Architect, those changes are getting reflected in BAM Reports(No manual intervention is required).

with it starting at 0?

I guess you could, but that would be an hour long gap clip before your sequence which would make for a very
unweildy sequence. Especially since this cut will be only about a minute.

How to restrict the user to change the project structure but not the documents?

I have created one project assigning different users in Solution manger. I want to risitrict some of the users to change the project structure but simultaneously allwoing the project documents to be created, edited or deleted using solar01 under Project documentation tab. For that I have followed the steps provided in the follwoing link.

I am able to restrict the users to change the project structure, but I am not able to allow access to the project documents. It gives me the message "You are not authorised to change the project". Basically there are 2 different authorization role ...you should look for and customize as per requirement in Z* namespace.
role - SAP_SOLAR01_ALL
this take care of objects in Solar01 like tab access etc
role -SAP_SOL_KW_ALL
this takes care of entire documentation within solman

How do I change a project's name?

In the manual I followed the instructions below but it doesn't work. If I double click on a project name in the library, it just opens the project (in other words, the text of the name can not be edited). If I single click on the name of the project, it doens't do anything. The manual says I should be able to change the project name. Also, when I duplicate a project, it doesn't give me the ability to enter a new name. It just creates a new name and doesn't let me change it. Please advise. Thank you!
Rename a project
If the Project Library is not already open, click the Project Library button at the bottom-left corner of the Final Cut Pro main window.
Select a project, and click the project’s name to highlight it.
Type a new name in the project Name field, and press Return.
Depending on how you have the Project Library organized, the project’s position in the project list may change after you rename it.

Seems like sometimes it takes so long to render stuff in the background that you cant do much work till it is finished.

Changes to Query not reflected in views

We want to use various views off of a 'master' query to publish in our portal. I was working on the assumption that an advantage of the views was that if a change needed to be made it could be made in the query and then all the views off of that query would reflect the change. However I have discovered that some changes made in the query do not get reflected in the views. For example if I change the scaling on a key figure, this change does not get reflected in the views. In one case, as a test, I modified a formula in the query and also changed the scaling. The view reflected the modified calculation but did not reflect the new scale.
Does anyone know how to force these type of changes or is there documentation that at least list those changes made to the query that will not get reflected in the views?

in general: Everything which belongs to the query view object won't be overwritten by query changes.
What belongs to the query view object? Basically everything you can change during execution of a query (Dynamic filters, Drill-Down-State, Properties of characteristics, structure elements (keyfigures) and Query-View).
What does not belong the query-view object: Definition of structure elements, Navigation space (characteristics available during runtime), Static filters.

Changing a project name will be fine as the system works off the GUIDs. Test this process on a test project before so that you are satisfied this works for you.

But I'm switching between projects a lot and I only want to use Proxy Media on one project, so how can I tell FCPX to only use Proxy Media on that ONE project?

Perhaps if apple didn't take back prores LT this wouldn't be as much of an issue.
Pores LT was a great compromise between file size and quality. It produced a fine image for most peoples needs and was 30% smaller.
Hopefully it will be returned soon. I can't imagine why it's not already there. Unless they want to charge for it, ... again..
Have you tried capturing as full res, then change prefs back to proxy, open a new project and import the full res files?
In FCP7 the render pref was separate from the capture pref. is that gone too?
If my idea doesn't work, Surely someone will chime in with a creative work around to this.
And hopefully it'll get fixed soon in an update.

No Project IMG has been defined for Starting Reference IMG SOLMAN ERROR

Hi All,
I created a off release project in prodcution and assigned logical compenents. When I am trying to create a IMG object for SPRO it is showing an error stating that "No Project IMG has been defined for Starting Reference IMG ". when I click Ok button it is showing another message ""Screen output without connection to user.". I Verified in project administration(solar_project_admin)> System Landscape>IMG projects, status for distributing IMG projects to component systems is showing in Red color. No IMG projects have been distributed into the system.
RFC connections are showing are correctly. I am not able to find the problem and solution. Could any one help me to figureout the problem and what needs to be done

No Project IMG has been defined for "logical compt". Starting Reference IMG

I have my logical component setup, and have my DEV system added. I have the BPH setup, and is trying to do configuration. when i select an IMG and click on "configure" i am getting the following error, but it takes me to the IMG
Error:
"No Project IMG has been defined for Z_LOGIC_COMPT. Starting Reference IMG"
I went and checked in solar_project_admin, system landscape/project/IMG. Selected the development system from the "system role for IMG projects". I can see it in RED. How can i generate this? I guess its because of this, am getting the error above
