Field fine tuning problems

I have a field or two that has a few house cleaning chores to do in order to increase functionality and eliminate some confusion for the user but I have gone about as far as I can with it.
First, I have a Yes/No radio group that will conditionally show a date field. This part works for all intents and purposes, but.....
If No is selected the datefield is not visible, if yes is selected the date field is visible.
If the user selects 'yes' and fills in the datefield and then proceeds to the next page and then hits the back button the 'Yes' is still selected but the date field with their date entered is not visible, but if the radio button is re-selected the field will become visible with the date that they entered. How do I make it so that no matter what that if the 'Yes' option is selected the datefield will be visible?
Heres my current code at the moment:
<script type = "text/javascript">
<!--
function hide(x) {
document.getElementById(x).style.visibility="hidden";
function show(x) {
document.getElementById(x).style.visibility="visible";
//-->
</script>
<cfinput type="radio" id="sendbcastemail2" name="sendbcastemail" onClick="hide('showhidesendbcastemail')" value="No" checked="#sendbcastemail2_Checked#">No
<cfinput type="radio" id="sendbcastemail1" name="sendbcastemail" onClick="show('showhidesendbcastemail')" value="Yes" checked="#sendbcastemail1_Checked#">Yes
<cfdiv id="showhidesendbcastemail" style="visibility:#showhidesendbcastemaildate#">Select date:<br>
<cfinput type="datefield" name="sendbcastemaildate" value="#getLastedit.sendbcastemaildate#" validate="date" message="Enter a Valid Date">
Next, how do I make the datefield conditionally required.
If the user selects 'No' the field is not required, but if 'Yes' is selected the datefield is required?
TIA for any assistance.

The browser behaviour when user hits back button is entirely browser dependent and there is very little you can do about it, you might want to look at HTML cache related pragmas and JavaScript browser history handling...
"how do I make the datefield conditionally required"
Do you want to validate it on client or server?
If you show/hide the fields on client side as and when required and submit a form, the hidden fields will NOT be submitted to the server (AFAIR), so on the server you can just check when the fields are present in form scope...

  • Configurable Code-list not Extendable in Fine-Tuning.

    Hi
    I am facing some problems while changing the values in Code-list while using fine tuning process in Configuration. I have created three code-lists and then being added to configuration using BAC.
    In this BAC I have created one business Topic and three separate business options. Each business option is linked with each bcc (business Configuration Set).
    Now when I go to and “Edit project scope” I am able to get the code list on my UI using extension fields and values are there too. But the problem I am facing is that in “Open Activity list” when I open the Business Options NOT all the options are opening properly.
    Although I have got some of them opening fine and let me make changes while others are showing errors.
    Any Advice Please.
    Many thanks in Advance.
    Regards
    Asad

    Yes i have regenerated now and still the same problem is there.
    Yes the flag has been selected in the BC SET.
    in Fine tuning there is slight difference in BOTH BC views.
    One with normal behavior only shows the code in code list while the one with Issues/Problems is showing code & Description in same CODE column while some Times it does show only code though??
    Any guess here?

  • Fixing Radio: Fine tuning songs (Hits, Variety or Discovery Mode)

    Our radio has always been weird, you never know what songs it plays, and it always REPEATS THE SAME GOD darn SONG over the past hour.
    It's time to fix it.
    If you've tried, or at least clicked into an app of a competing service, this is how it looks like:
    You can kinda tune the station to WHAT YOU LIKE, for eg, Hits, Variety, or Discovery and the radio will adapt what you want to hear.
    Here's another example (A not very solid example though):
    As you may know, Echo Nest is now a Spotify company, anyway, this shows the radio where you can slide to whether artist only or discovery in general (This might not be a good example, as if I just wanted to listen to the artist, I would've just went into the artist page and click on Shuffle Play.)
    Here's another example:
    This is a relatively new music service, but if you've tried its radio, you wil find out that its really really spectacular. You can tell the service what is your mood and it plays songs based on that, but if that's not enough. It actually has brand new algorithms that is built just for this, I read somewhere that it even monitors your location, the songs you play in that location/event, the volume the song is playing and when you hit the radio mode, it will analyze all of this algorithms and play based on that.
    So the radio needs improvements in its really bad algorithms and a fine tuning option.
    PS: If you go the comments section of this idea, in page 2,  bought up a really good visual of a competing music service vs Spotify when using the radio, if you've time you should take a look and if possible share more of the problems that you face with Spotify Radio.

    "Improving Station" is a joke.  I have a station based on Laura Nyro.  I keep getting the same very popular Nyro songs (but even that rarely) and some other 60s, 70s, 80s female vocalists.  Nothing newer.  I also get a ton of stuff nothing like Nyro, including male vocalists and male bands.  How many times do I reject anything of Elvis Costello before you stop playing it?  Same for many other artists.  You really need to track that if someone has rejected every one of an artist, quit playing that artist. Or, better, provide as has been suggested elsewhere here, a button "reject artist."  I've nothing against Costello, or Lightfoot, or the Doobies, or Bread, or many of the artists you put forth on my Nyro station.  I just don't want anything besides lilting female vocalists on my Nyro station.  (As well as much more Nyro.) Your learning algorithms are a joke, song by song is useless-- I have to come running back to the computer to keep rejecting stuff, even though I've been trying to "improve" the station for weeks.

  • Raw Fine Tuning 2.0 not available?

    I'm using the Trial version of Aperture 2.1.2 and tried editing FujiFilm FinePix S2 Pro raw images. For Raw Fine Tuning, only versions 1.0 and 1.1 could be selected (and thus sliders such as "Recovery" are unavailable). I did a Software Update (which installed Raw Converter 2.5), and I restarted my system. No apparent change: only 1.0 and 1.1 are the choices.
    Does this mean that Raw Fine Tuning 2.0 is not available for FinePix S2 Pro raw images?

    Perhaps...
    I can understand if Apple chooses not to support or to discontinue support for a particular image type, especially given the Fuji circumstances. And I appreciate the ability to do a 30-day free trial. I guess where I got a little irked is that I had to spend time troubleshooting a problem I thought should have been documented (it is not a bug; it was a decision that affects the availability of product features).
    Thanks for the replies, Brian.

  • Customising the RAW fine tuning as default for importing. In Aperture 3

    RAW Fine Tuning.
    I use a Canon G11 PowerShot camera.
    I’m being unsuccessful customising the RAW fine tuning as default for importing new files, so each new RAW file imported come into Aperture 3 with the changes from the Apple default.
    All I want to do is: reduct the boost from 1.0 to 0.5 and Hue Boost from 1.0 to 0.5.
    I made the said changes by moving the sliders.
    Then from the cog wheel (in RAW fine tuning) click on save as preset ( give it a name )
    I now see it in the list , I click on it - click save as camera default - it now say camera default next to my custom settings.
    However when I import new RAW files into Aperture 3, it imports the file with the Apple settings not my custom settings that are marked with camera default.
    NB, I had not problem changing the above in Aperture 2 - I have done it before and I believe I have gone through the procedure correctly
    Can anyone please help
    Thanks Martin

    Hi Matthew
    What I'm doing is: setting the RAW fine tuning camera default ( to my custom settings) , so all new files being imported into Aperture 3 will take my custom settings as they are imported into Aperture 3.
    I did this will Aperture 2 without any trouble . now I have upgraded to Aperture 3 the RAW fine tuning camera default is Apples and I have to change it from Apples to my custom preset.
    It shows I have changed the RAW camera default to my custom settings in the drop down list but when I import files - they take the Apple preset not my custom settings ? ?

  • Fine Tuning REPORT

    Hi,
    I want to know about fine tuning a report. One way, I know is to break the query which extracts data from different tables separately and finally joining it using FOR ALL ENTRIES.  What are the different methods to fine tune a report.
    Please reply with suitabe answers.

    Hi
    see this
    1) Dont use nested select statements
    2) If possible use for all entries in addition
    3) In the where addition make sure you give all the primary key
    4) Use Index for the selection criteria.
    5) You can also use inner joins
    6) You can try to put the data from the first select statement into an Itab and then in order to select the data from the second table use for all entries in.
    7) Use the runtime analysis SE30 and SQL Trace (ST05) to identify the performance and also to identify where the load is heavy, so that you can change the code accordingly

    ABAP performance depends upon various factors and in devicded in three parts:
    1. Database
    2. ABAP
    3. System
    Run Any program using SE30 (performance analys) to improve performance refer to tips and trics section of SE30, Always remember that ABAP perfirmance is improved when there is least load on Database.
    u can get an interactive grap in SE30 regarding this with a file.

  • Raw fine tuning not working in slideshows

    Hi,
    Does anyone know why when I adjust the de-noise level of an image in Raw Fine Tuning and then use that image in a slideshow why the adjustment is not applied to the image shown in the slideshow?
    I've tried regenerating the preview but it didn't make any difference.
    Thanks
    Ian

    I think I've fixed my own problem - I changed the preview quality setting and it's OK now.

  • Aperture 2.1 doesn't lift Raw Fine Tuning for Canon 40D

    Anyone know what's going on here. I can lift all adjustments including raw fine tuning with all my cameras (Canon 1D Mark III; 1Ds Mark III; Mark IIN) except for the 40D. For some reason when I click the Lift button on 40D images the Raw Fine Tuning option in the lift hud doesn't appear. Only Adjustments, Main Rating, IPTC and Custom. I've tried quitting Aperture and restarting. I've also tried rebooting. Problem persists.

    First, make sure that you are using full RAW files not RAWs. RAW s is a smaller size setting in the camera which has not been supported by Aperture in the past. Second, try rebuilding your Aperture database. I have a Canon 7d and use RAW. It works fine on my system. You can try reinstallation but if your problem is the RAW version or your database, reinstallation will not address the problem.

  • RAW Fine Tuning Dimmed out for D80 RAW Picture

    When I open a "RAW" file taken with a Nikon D80, the "RAW Fine Tuning" options are all dimmed out in the "Adjustment" panel and won't let me make adjustments. It shows my camera properly as a Nikon D80, but none of the sliders (Boost, Sharpening, Chroma Blur, etc) will work.
    Is there some setting I have to adjust, or is it something else?

    There may be a simpler solution yet - when you first click a raw file, all of these options are greyed out until the "real" file loads. At first it just displays a preview, and while that is happening, stuff is greyed out - once the file loads, the controls become active.
    So, just check if you have the same problem if you let the file sit there for a minute until it finishes loading Remember - Aperture is still pretty slow with big files (it just looks fast.)

  • Raw Fine Tuning - Custom Settings?

    Good Day
    I created custom settings in the "Raw Fine Tuning" palllete, I can't seem to change or remove them. Every new CF card I download automatically changes to this custom setting which I no longer want.
    I have tried to change these custom setting and save them as camera raw default, but it just goes back to the old custom settings. I have also tried to re-set to default setting, no go. Also tried to "select all" and change them back to the "apple" raw settings, only the primary image changes, "primary only" is turned off. Please help?
    thanks, shane

    I have speculated elsewhere that software and camera manufacturers are pushing hotter and more "Disney-fied" defaults than they have in the past (and that these have always been "unreal").  My experience with a Sony a77 is that the newest RAW upgrade reverses (or calms) this trend.
    The Sony a77 default setting under Apple RAW Compatibility Update 3 was too saturated and too contrasted (locally and globally).  I pulled back Boost to 0.7 and Hue Boost to 0.6, and left the rest the unchanged.  Under RAW Compatibility Update 4.0, I don't have to make as big a change, and settled on Boost=0.93 and HueBoost=0.70.  I also tweaked the other settings -- the biggest change there was putting moire to zero.
    That said -- I am having significant repeatable color problems with my NEC wide-gamut PA271W monitor, so I am going to have to revisit these settings after I resolve that.  I made the new settings based on the Retina display and an NEC 2490WUXi2.  They produce images that look great.  I have not printed any yet, but getting matching prints has not been a problem in the past.
    Do you change any settings other than Boost and Hue Boost?

  • Fine Tuning FTP services

    Hi,
    I have FTP enabled and usable through a Cisco firewall and a netgear firewall. Next problem is fine tuning access so that when someone comes in via an account their FTP client sees only their home directory and not be able to see anything else.
    OS 10.4.8 Client
    Thanks in advance

    If you create the file
    /etc/ftpd.conf
    And add the line
    chroot all %d
    To it, then any user that logs in via FTP will be locked to their home directory (and any sub-directories).

  • De-Noise setting with custom RAW fine-tuning ?

    If I look at the De-Noise setting when using the Apple default you will notice that it varies with the ISO of the image (Njikon D4). As the ISO increases so does the De-Noise setting. This is often a good thing. If I save my own RAW fine-tuning setting with out touching the De-Noise setting and make it the Default, the De-Noise setting is no longer 'active' and just sits at zero for all ISO settings.
    How do we create a custom preset that will automatically increase De-Noise when the images have a higher ISO?

  • Using mouse to make fine tuning adjustment

    I have just installed Ligthroom 2.5 upgraded from Ligthroom 1.4; it appears that I can not longer make fine tuning of the ajustment using the mouse wheel but I am stock to move the slides by dragging them with the mouse or entering a value...
    is the mouse wheel capacity to make adjustement discontinued with Ligthroom 2.5; if not, how do I got about using the mouse wheel?
    Thanks,

    Thank you very much for the clear answers.
    Message for the adobe people, this is a major functionality lost (for an upgraded product) when ajusting for hundreds of picture this increase the time to make all the adjustment by many folds (which is my case). It would be worth investing time to fix the problem instead of removing a very important and useful fonctionality.
    Can anyone provide the specification for the mouse that would support such functionality as indicated by Ian?
    Thanks

  • Aperture 3 with Nikon D90 - How should raw fine tuning look like?

    I try to trouble shoot my Aperture 3 (trial) installation. I have some troubles with the raw fine tuning controls and after reading the manual (again) I noticed that the fine tuning controls I get for my D90 are different from the ones displayed in the manual.
    I get boost, hue boost / sharpening, edges / moire, radius, noise-reduction sliders.
    In the manual there is no noise-reduction slider, just a check box for Auto Noise Compensation.
    I got that control in Aperture 2, but not in Aperture 3. Now I’m wondering if something went wrong with my Aperture 3 installation. That would explain the problems I have with raw fine tuning. But before I try a complete clean install of my Mac i would like to know if I get the right raw fine tuning controls in Aperture 3.
    Does anybody use Aperture 3 and a Nikon D90 and could tell me how the raw fine tuning controls he gets in Aperture 3 look like?
    Thanks.

    Greetings, First be sure you have your d7100 properly set to take maximum detail NEF images.
    Go to your d7100 shooting menu and choose NEF (Raw) recording > Type
    Choose N Lossless Compressed
    Then go to NEF (RAW) Recording > NEF (RAW) Bit depth
    Choose 14 bits
    You were given good advice that you should not mess with the raw fine tuning brick in Aperture 3.6
    Your d7100 has a default RAW import preset - make sure you have somehow not changed that Apple Aperture coded
    raw fine tuning preset - this could make all your images far less sharp on import. You can easily revert to the Aperture 3.6 raw import brick default for the d7100 if you have somehow changed it by error. And always be sure to use your Aperture loupe or full screen viewer when applying any adjustment bricks.
    Finally be sure that you understand the differences between the Sharpen adjustment and the Edge Sharpen adjustment. Both of these are very sensitive and very different sharpening tools. I do not shoot with a d7100, but use other Nikon FX DSLR's and I have never felt that any of my NEF imports lacked either Sharpness or Edge Sharpness given the Apple Aperture default raw image digital converters for each particular Nikon body. Good luck.

    I just bought a new PC and I have re-installed my Adobe Creative Suite Standard on it.
    Software open fine. PROBLEM: The toolbars (menu stuff) appear extra-small, too small for me to read...
    I went into the PC settings and tried to change the display resolution. This changes the size of all  the icons (not only Adobe) but it does not solve the problem when I open an Adobe application (Photoshop or Illustrator)... The PC is run under Windows 8.1 and my display resolution is 3200x1800 (but again, when I change the settings for a smaller resolution, only the size of the icons is affected. Once I open the software, the problem is still there, extra-small toolbars...). Help!!!
