File Browser and Permission

Hi,
I am building a web site and there is a File Browser item in it. When I select a file and submit the page a message about acess denied appears.
I know this error occurs because this page is public, but is there another solution to fix it?

Would you please post more details about how your pages work, and the actual error message?

  • How to set default file browser and web browser

I am using openbox as the window manager and don't have a desktop environment.
My file browser is pcmam file manager and my web browser is chromium.
    I add
    export BROWSER=/usr/bin/pcmanfm
in .bashrc so that the system uses pcman file manager to open a local file from an external application. But it will also uses pcman file manager to open a url. I want the url opened in chromium, but chromium doesn't let me set the default web browser (as the picture shows blow).:(
    What shall deal with it?
    Thank you.

    ashesxera: Thanks for the pointers!
After some hours of persistent puzzling I finally figured out how to make Thunderbird/Lanikai open URIs in Chromium instead of Firefox in the XFCE desktop environment.
In fact I found two solutions that both work.
    1) The straightforward solution: make some changes to Thunderbird/Lanikai's prefs.js
    Add two string variables:
    string: network.protocol-handler.app.ftp; value: exo-open
    string: network.protocol-handler.app.http; value: exo-open
    string: network.protocol-handler.app.https; value: exo-open
and importantly: change the values of the Boolean variables network.protocol-handler.warn-external.ftp network.protocol-handler.warn-external.http and network.protocol-handler.warn-external.https to 'true'.
It turns out that for some unclear reason the standard Arch Linux Thunderbird/Lanikai package uses gnome-open to open URLs. The persistent popping up of Firefox was caused by some settings in .gconf that come with the gconfd package. I didn't find these values in gconf-editor.
    2) Change xml files in .gconf
As I don't want to use Firefox as standard browser any longer, I wanted to get rid of these hidden settings in .gconfd so that "gnome-open [URI]" opens a webpage in Chromium.
I succeeded in getting there by replacing firefox with chromium in the following files:
    .gconf/desktop/gnome/applications/browser/%gconf.xml
    .gconf/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/chrome/%gconf.xml
    .gconf/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/ftp/%gconf.xml
    .gconf/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/%gconf.xml
    .gconf/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/https/%gconf.xml
    .gconf/desktop/gnome/url-handlers//%gconf.xml

Arrays do not send out change events so the DG doesn’t know you pushed things onto it.  If you used the DG’s dataProvider it will have wrapped the array in an ArrayCollection and will notice the changes.  There is a FileSystemDataGrid component by the way.

  • Newb needs help opening file browser and getting full file name and path.

Ok, so I'm a TOTAL newb here, but I have managed to get it to open a file browser but all I can seem to get it to do is give me the NAME of the selected file *eg. selectedFile.name* I also need the path of the file as in C:\example\file.mp3.
The program I'm making plays an MP3 of your choice at a certain time, like an alarm clock. But I got tired of entering the file path of the MP3 EACH time so I wanted to have a browse feature.
    Ideas... help... thanks...
    Nicholas

you'll need to use air to get the path.

  • BlackBerry file browser and media player

I hope this is the right place to bring these suggestions up:
I miss having the ability to stream via the default media player. Is there any way of adding that in an update?
Also, and on a similar note, would it be possible to add FTP abilities to the OS10 file manager - thus allowing access to Google Drive, etc. I know there are third party apps out there that can do this but the BlackBerry app does everything I need it to do minus accessing files on my Drive. It seems that in the days of cloud storage, it would have already been a feature.
    Thank you.

It should, unless you've got event sounds turned off. (just try leaving them turned on while connected to external speakers with the volume way up and have a call or notification come in; shocking!)

    Hi Alex008,
Thanks for using Firefox OS. There is a file browser in the marketplace called Explorer that let's you see your files in the folders. See https://marketplace.firefox.com/search?q=explorer

    HI
    first:
I have a form which contain file browse and i have in this form select list with submit ( i use submit to populate another select list)
The problem is : when the select list do submit the path in file browse disappear so i have to choose the file agian
what can i do to this problem?
    second:
i want to make a link to file that exist in database in a report, when i click the link the file will download, how can i do it ?
    Thanks in advance

    Excalibur,
There's not much you can do about the first issue other than change the way the select works. You're having it submit the page for something - why not make that an Ajax process? Then no submit would be needed so no value would be cleared out.
As for the second, start with this:

  • Konqueror file management and auto-refresh

    Hello all,
I am working with Arch and KDEmod and so far everything is pretty good. I do have one problem that is a bit annoying.
Konqueror file manager windows do not automatically refresh when viewing the URLs system:/home or system:/users/jay. The system:/home URL is what is opened when you click on the "Home" icon, so this makes this problem stand out.
Anyway, the problem can be reduced by doing the following:
    1. Open Konqueror file browser and select "Home Folder" from the tree on left. This puts you at the URL system:/home. (Alternately, just click on the "Home" icon that gets set up in the kicker by KDEmod.)
    2. In a terminal window create a file in your home directory. Note that the file does not show up in the Konqueror window.
    3. Press F5 to refresh Konqueror. The newly created file now appears.
    4. In a terminal window delete the file you just created. Again, note that the file does not disappear from the Konqueror window.
    5. Press F5 to refresh Konqueror. The file now disappears.
The correct behavior is that when you create and delete the file, it shows and then disappears from the Konqueror window accordingly. Currently this does not work for the system:/home (Home Folder) or system:/users/jay (Users Folders/<user full name>) URLs. Interestingly enough, if I type the URL "/home/jay" into the Konqueror location bar in file management mode and then do the above steps, the auto-refresh works fine.
Does anyone have any clues as to why the refresh doesn't work for the system:/ URLs? Is this by design? What plugin actually provides the system:/ URL schema?
    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Jay

    Hi LunAds,
I'm afraid you have just discovered how bad these features are implemented in Excel: they just don't work properly and I always advise against using them for any serious long-term solution.
If you do not have Excel services, then editing the document on the server (which would prevent lots of problems) is out of the question indeed.
Alternatives depend a lot on your needs.
For example, you could use sharepoint lists that the users can edit and then import those lists into Excel for reporting purposes.
But if this is relational data (parent-child tables, which is very often the case) then a database solution is probably the best route to take.

  • Where's JDeveloper11g file browsing feature for codes?

In JDeveloper 11g, whenever I type img src, followed by an equation sign, I expect to see the File Browse link being popped up along with all the files within the directory so I can easily pick the ones I need. Unfortunately, this function does not work, and all I get is "CDATA or ELExpression" being popped up which usually happens when there is no code insight. I am sure the File Browse and easy pick feature did exist before way back in the early versions of 10g. Is this a bug in 11g or it is a step backward by removing that feature although I don't believe there's a sound reason to.

Hi, I'm afraid I have got this issue since the first clean install. For all 11g versions I have tried on, there is no popup for File Browse, as you can see here:
    http://s8.postimg.org/4wy23u6ut/image.jpg (Jdeveloper 11g)
On the other hand, when I checked the old 10g version that I have previously, it has that, just like below.
    http://s21.postimg.org/aetyo97mr/image.jpg (JDeveloper 10g)
For all the above, I am using JSP page. Usually I would create a custom application, and then adding a new JSP. I believe this shouldn't result any peculiarity, as it's almost standard procedure.
Update: I think I've figured out. I didn't have image files in the directory yet. After I have put some images in the directory, I'm now able to see the File Browse.
By the way, is JDeveloper 11g short of support for inline CSS parameters?
For instance, if i type the HTML, [anchor] input style [equals], it doesn't pop up things like 'text-align' etc. I think I noticed this feature when I'm doing a preview of 12c, so can anyone confirm that this doesn't exist in any version of 11g?

  • File browsing bug?

    Hi
Today a bunch of nice Chinese hackers were trying to get remote access to my tomcat server (6.0.24).
I booted them out after a few minute they were in trying to load their root kit package. The interesting part is, after I cleaned everything, I took a quick look at their software (their rootkit webapp) and it's pretty interesting.
The root kit gives the user total access to the system and allowing the user to traverse outside of the tomcat container. What is bothering me, even though Tomcat is running on top of JVM, why didn't Tomcat developers protect against access outside of its own container?? From that webapp i could access the drive root like it's just a regular file browser, and execute commands as SYSTEM (equivalent to root user in linux based systems), doesn't make any sense in my mind.
is this an expected behavior or did I miss something in the security configurations?
The root kit is a modified JFilder class. I cannot attach a file here but I can send it by email if anybody wants to install it on their system to play around with it offline.
    best!

Tomcat runs on a JVM and the JVM generally has full system access, except the parts you protect on the OS level of course.
However, it is possible to install security policies in the JVM itself - a good example of that is the sandbox in which Java Applets run which is severely limited. So with some work you can protect your system in any way you want.

After virus problem which would not let all parts of the browser page open, I downloaded Firefox from another browser and opened it to install.
Firefox now asks permission to open each time I click the icon. I have shut off the computer and on several times. I then re-installed the browser but still it asks permission to open.
It seems to work again but can I get rid of opening permission request please? I may have 2 versions of the browser in the computer or the new program did not replace the old?
If I uninstall the program will I lose my bookmarks? Please can you help?

Mozilla Firefox stores all your personal settings, such as bookmarks, passwords and extensions, in a profile folder on your computer

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!
    Thank you.

I'm wondering if it moved my rhapsody music to the cloud (which is pointless) so I shut off 'document' sharing in case that's the problem, but it's still saying I'm at 5G right now.
When I go to icloud.com all I see is the dumb app icons, with no clue as to what's taking up that disk space.
btw, I did not sync photos from the get-go.
A file browser? please? I need to see my cloud.

Have you enabled Automatic Downloads on all of your devices? This would download all of the books to all of your devices when you download on any device - as long as you are using the same Apple ID and iTunes account on all of your devices.
Go to Settings>Store>Automatic Downloads>Books>On. When you download a book on one iDevice, it will download to all of your iDevices. This will only work for downloads moving forward from the moment that you turn the setting on. You will have to download the previously purchased books to all of your other devices.
With iCloud, you can start reading the book on one device and then pickup where you left off on another device.

I use Outlook for my email on the Safari web browser, and about 90% of the time when I want to attach a pdf or jpg file it fails and about 50% of the time when I want to send a standard text massage it will also fail and the email massage crashes. The only way I can get my Outlook to work is if I switch to Firefox web browser. I would rather not switch to a new web browser if I don't have to.
It seems like what ever the problem is that its related the Safari web browser, because it works fine on the Firefox web browser.
