File is not generated using UTL_FILE

Question

MY_DIR in dba_directories is /usr/tmp. /usr/tmp has read, write privilege to apps.

Tried giviing .txt,.dat extension to myfile ,UTL_FILE.PUT_LINE also. But file is not getting generated.

Hello,
You may execute the following query so as to check your directories:
select * from dba_directories;You should have an Oracle directory which point to "/usr/tmp".
If yes, you should use the corresponding Oracle Directory name instead of "/usr/tmp".
Else, you may create an Oracle Directory which point to "/usr/tmp" and GRANT READ, WRITE access to APPS.
More over, if you want to use Oracle Directory you should remove the parameter utl_file_dir or set it to "*".
In your example, it seems that you set the parameter utl_file_dir to "/usr/tmp" so you cannot
use Oracle Directories.
