Filtering a Query result for a specific value of a key figure

Hi folks,
I want to filter a query for a specific value of a key figure. The report should display all customer who has an account balance greater than EUR 500'000.
Can I only implement this kind of filter via a condition in Query-Designer? If I run that query on an InfoCube with non-cumulative key figures over all our customers (> 400'000) I have problems with the consumption of the memory. If I restrict the amount of the customers to 50'000 - 60'000 then it works. It seems that the query reads all customer records in an internal table before applying the condition.
Is there another way to deal with? Any help appreciated.
Kind regards

You could try to implement an alternative solution: define a new Characteristc with discrete values (in the following example I suppose to have intervals of 10)
KF -> CHAR
115 -> 110 (110 <= KF < 120)
  5 ->   0 (  0 <= KF <  10)
83 ->  80 ( 80 <= KF <  90)
Then you can use these dicrete values to filter ...
I know that it's not so "flexible" (discetization must be predefined), but query response time is quicker and you can use Aggregates ...
Hope it helps

  • CQWP does not return result for a specific query when filtering on a managed metadata field.

    Hi,
    We are facing a serious production issue. We've search the web extensively but to no avail.
    Problem:
    CQWP does not return result for a specific query when filtering on a managed metadata field.
    ULS log:
    The Uls logs provides 3 different messages that I could relate to every time the query is executed. The last item(level Medium) is displayed 14 times. For readability I've moved the ULS logs to the bottom of this question.
    Query:
    The query is as follows:
    (I've translated this from dutch so pardon any typo's)
    Query: (top selection) Display items from all sites in the site collection
    ListType: Documentlibrary
    Contenttype:
    Items from this group:Custom Document Contenttypes
    Items from this content type: Verklaring
    Filter: Soort is equal to X
    extra info: the field soort (Type) is a managed metadata field that was assigned the value X
    Managed Metadata Structure:
    -managed metadata service
      -Contoso
        -Enterprise Taxonomy (term set)
          -Document (term)
            -Verklaring (term)
              -Soort (term)
                -x (term)
    EXTRA INFO:
    When I modify the filter to filter on Title the CQWP DOES return the correct document!
    When I modify the query settings to search a specific library the CWQP also does return the correct document! (In this case I am filtering on a managed metadata field).
    QUESTION:
    Why doesn't the CQWP return the document when filtering on a managed metadata field over the entire site collection.
    Why does the CQWP return the document when filtering on a managed metadata field over a single library.
    (The type of information the CQWP should return (Soort:x) is stored in a dozen document libraries!)
    Here are the ULS logs.

    Hi,
    while digging through the logging (again) I found some extra logging regarding the same correlation id (see details below).
    We have a fairly large term store (4000+ lines).
    If somebody has a clue or tip that would greatly appreciated!

  • About value type and key figure type

    Hello Gurus,
              please explan the different usage of about value type and key figure type.  what is the typical values for both infoobjects ?
    Many thanks,
    Frank

    Hi,
    0METYPE is a key figure-specific info object usually used to define semantics of the individual business key figures in BW (for example, actual, commitment, plan, target values).
    Its a bi specific field which is filled from extract structure field named MEASTYPE table COSR
    Refer to OSS Note 523742 for how it is filled and the following link for additiona information.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/91/ddd52b9ef30645a338e28aae443807/frameset.htm
    Note 523742 - BCT-CO: BW key figure model and R/3 tables for trans. data
    This note provides information on the key figure model in the area of BW Content CO-OM. It also gives an overview of the DataSources for transaction data and the corresponding source tables and value fields in the R/3 System.
    The key figure model for currency fields in the area of CO-OM contents affects the following info object of type key figure:
    0AMOUNT Amount
    The key figure itself does have any business semantics.
    The semantics of the individual business key figures in BW (for example, actual, commitment, plan, target values) is determined using combinations of values for the following key figure-specific info objects (see also the account model in SEM-BPS, note 407563):
    0METYPE Key figure type
    0VTYPE Value type for reporting
    --> 0VTDETL Details of the value type
    --> 0VTSTAT Statistics indicator for the value type.
    For example, using transaction SE16, the possible characteristics of the values of this InfoObject can be taken from the above-mentioned master data tables in R/3.
    The business key figures on the InfoCubes of the standard BW content were defined as restricted key figures using this semantics of the key-figure-specific characteristics.
    The conversion of the R/3 transaction data in the BW key figure model is carried out in the extractors using the ROMI_GET_VTYPE_AND_DETAIL function module. It primarily happens using the specified conversion tables.
    The following dependencies exist for the source tables of the DataSources:
    COSP_VTYPE for COSS, COSP, COVP,
    COSB_VTYPE for COSB,
    BPXX_VTYPE for BPGE, BPJA, BPEE
    If an R/3 source record cannot be converted using these tables, it may not be extracted to BW.The application log of the R/3 DataSource transaction RSA3 contains entries for the unconverted values after the test run.(The log function for the CO-OM DataSources was considerably improved by the correction for note 523655).
    The application log for the extraction runs from BW can be evaluated using transaction SLG1 (Object: RSAP, object information: RSAP_INFO)
    Furthermore, the semantics of a key figure are still determined by the time characteristics and the following key-figure-specific info objects:
    0CURTYPE Currency type (for more information, see note 517909),
    0DB_CR_IND Debit/credit indicator (for more information, see note 065075),
    0VERSION CO version

  • How can i do to see the master and text values of the Key figure 0UNIT

    Hi gurus,
    How can i do to see the master and text values of the Key figure 0UNIT, please step by step, i m in the key figure 0UNIT but i want to see if the UNIT  for example BX = BOX, something like this is that i want to check,  thanks!

    If you look at the unit tables, you will see the values and texts.  It's in SPRO, not in RSA1.  My access is limited on my system here, but the documentation says to go to t-code CUNI.  I believe in that tcode you can look at all of the unit equivalencies and what each unit's text is ..... like an ea means each; KG = Kilogram; etc...
    I am on an 3.x system, so in SPRO I go to BW CIG=>General Settings=>Check units of measurement.

  • Fetching query result for editbox

    Hello to everyone. I just started developing Windows application (after 2 years pause). So, I'm working 'with' MFC Dialog based app.
    I want to fill combo box (or edit box it doesn't matter) with MySQL query result. I have these codes:
    void CConnectToMySQLDlg::OnWriteToDatabase()
    CString get, set;
    m_edit.GetWindowText(get);
    CT2CA temp_string(get);
    string s_get(temp_string);
    if (m_edit.GetWindowTextLength() != 0) // if you can please write this line better.
    MySQL_Driver *driver;
    Connection *dbConn;
    Statement *statement;
    ResultSet *result;
    driver = get_mysql_driver_instance();
    dbConn = driver->connect("tcp://127.0.0.1:3306", "root", "connection");
    dbConn->setSchema("world");
    statement = dbConn->createStatement();
    result = statement->executeQuery(s_get);
    //CStringArray comboArray;
    /*comboArray.Add(_T("bir"));
    comboArray.Add(_T("iki"));
    comboArray.Add(_T("uc"));
    comboArray.Add(_T("dord"));

    comboArray.Add(_T("bfsfsfsdes"));
    comboArray.Add(_T("bczxczxes"));
    comboArray.Add(_T("aadafdsbes"));
    comboArray.Add(_T("zczxawfebes"));*/
    //comboMysql.ResetContent();
    string s_set = "string";
    set.Format(_T("%S"), s_set.c_str());
    while (result->next())
    // here how can I set edit box value?
    // So, how can I convert
    AfxMessageBox(L"dsadasd");
    delete result;
    delete statement;
    delete dbConn;
    else // handling user input
    AfxMessageBox(L"not allowed");
    I can get input stream and successfully(1) execute it but I don't know how to set its result(s).
    (1) --- In this case I entered this SQL line:
    select ID, Name from city where ID = 1 or ID = 2 or ID = 3 or ID = 4
    and it alerted me 4 times.
    p.s. If there any problematic codes please tell me the correct variant(s).
    Best regards,
    Mirjalal.

    I solved my problem. I pasted working codes below.
    void CmysqlDlg::OnBnClickedButton1()
    CString get, set, ComboString;
    edit.GetWindowText(get);
    CT2CA temp_string(get);
    std::string s_get(temp_string);
    if (edit.GetWindowTextLength() != 0) // if you can please write this line better.
    MySQL_Driver *driver;
    Connection *dbConn;
    Statement *statement;
    ResultSet *result;
    driver = get_mysql_driver_instance();
    dbConn = driver->connect("tcp://127.0.0.1:3306", "root", "connection");
    dbConn->setSchema("world");
    statement = dbConn->createStatement();
    result = statement->executeQuery(s_get); // executes the user "input"
    comboBox.ResetContent();
    // ofstream y("text.txt"); // actually i don't need this anymore :P
    while (result->next())
    string name_string = result->getString("Name"); // Name is the my tbl column name
    CString cs_name_string(name_string.c_str());
    comboBox.AddString(cs_name_string);
    delete result;
    delete[] result;
    delete statement;
    delete[] statement;
    delete dbConn;
    delete[] dbConn;
    else // handling user input
    AfxMessageBox(L"olmaz");
    Thanks.

    HR INTW date
    LM INTW DATE
    TEL INTW DATE
    if i dont give any interval in the variable prompt it should display all the recors as follows
    Reuisition     HR Count     LM Count     TEL Count
    a1               1                  1               1
    a2               1                  1                     1

    If i give LM INTW DATE interval as    01.01.2010 to 31.02.2010
    then it should display all the other counts as in the output_1 , but for LM count for a3 it should show 0.
    Reuisition     HR Count     LM Count     TEL Count
    a1               1                  1               1
    a2               1                  1                     1
    a3               1                 0                  1
    that means wherever i restrict the data depending on the variable that only that interval key figure value shd be in the report..
    for this scenario, which variable i need to use... and how i need to restict the KFig value in the report...
    Right now i am getting like this but it is restricting the records,,, where it should not restrict the records...in the report..
    Please guide me for the same...
    If any concerns about the scenario please let me know...
    Regards,
    VJ

    hi chowdary ,
    could you tell me the var. creation in detail and  with which reference object i need to create ...
    whether i need to take LM_DATE / 0DATE while creating variable...
    and i kept this variables it in filter section, based on the LM_DATE Object.
    i have tried both.. y'day when i take 0DATE it giving me some results...
    But at the same time it is restricting the records..
    i think it could be a problem with var.. properties?
    need more inputs pls.

  • Setting the values of the key figures

    Hi,
    I have a problem in a query. There is a variable chosen with a range for 0calmonth. For the two of the key figures, I need to restrict the key figure to the first period and for the other key figure I need to restrict to the last period. However, what I need more is that if in the restricted period there is no value for that key figure it should get the first period that it has a value. For example:
    Our variable set as: 02.2006   -  05.2006
    And our data is
         CalMonth          KeyFig1     KeyFig2
    A     02.2006                 0            7
    A     03.2006                 0           8
    A     04.2006                 4            9
    A     05.2006                  5            0
    I want to see in the query as:
                  KeyFig1    KeyFig2
    A              4                9
    When I add the results with first value and last value, I can see these figures in the general results section. But this time I have to hide the key figures and show only the results section.
    Any idea on preparing such a query?
    Thanks in advance...

  • No values when using key figure with constant selection?

    Hi experts,
    I have built a Webi on top of a universe that is sitting on top of a Bex query.
    In my Bex query I have a bunch of key figures defined that are restricted on time and category.
    This Webi works fine.
    Then I added an additional key figure that required a constant selection on time and on category.
    When I first added this to my Webi report it was fine. But once I refreshed my report showed no values.
    The report still seems to know that it is meant to retrieve values because it is bringing back the correct records - just no values. (ie I am showing time in my columns and it's showing the correct periods that are meant to have data)
    I refreshed a number of times and sometimes it would bring "#TOREFRESH" in some cells but once I refreshed again the cells are blank. Sometimes it would even show me a value in a couple of cells and others would show the "#TOREFRESH"
    I went back to my Bex query and removed the key figure with constant selection and the report is working again?
    Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there a way to make this work?
    Thank you!
    Sabine

    #TOREFRESH error message appears for smart measures (measure object with aggregation type Database Delegated) when the context for the measure is changed. Refreshing data will solve the issue. Database delegated measures are used for some non-additive aggregation which webi is not able to handle properly. If you are not using such aggregation, then tou can change the aggregation type to something other than database delegated to avoid #TOREFRESH.

  • Regarding classifying values in a key figure

    Hi All,
    I need help in defining one query. In my query there is a key figure with positive and negitive values(Quantity). I need another key figure (Key figure 2) to display all the negitive values for a condition price list type =02.
    That is "IF PRICE LIST TYPE =02 and qty is nigitive" then display in Key figure 2
    How to achieve it??
    Regards
    Jay Y

    Hi,
    Create a Calculated key figure with the following formula:
    ( 'Keyfigure' < 0) * 'Keyfigure'
    The expression ( 'Keyfigure' < 0) returns 1 when ever the expression is true.
    Use this CKF in the query along with the restriction on Price List type.
    (You can create a restricted key figure using the above CKF & restricting it on Price List type)
    Hope this helps.

  • How to show filter values of restricted key figures in BEx Analyzer?

    Hi,
    I have following report.
                         Quantity USA        Quantity China
    Product           100                        150
    Quantity USA is a restricted key figure using key figure 'quantity' and a restriction on characteristic 'country' = USA
    Quantity China is a restricted key figure using key figure 'quantity' and a restriction on characteristic 'country' = China
    I notice that when I put only one of these resticted key figures into the query, there is a line in the filter area of the report in the BEx Analyzer that shows the characteristic 'country' and the value on which it's restricted in the restricted key figures.
    E.g.:
    Country          USA
                         Quantity USA
    Product           100
    If I put both restricted key figures in the query, this line is not shown.
    Does anyone of you know how I can display this line again when using multiple restricted key figures like this in the query?
    Thanks!

  • Input Enabled Query - Web Template - Not able to change the key figure.

    Hello IP Gurus,
    This is a simple question .
    I have input enabled query and for all the KF's , I selected the radio button - data can be changed using user entries or planning functions , Equal Distribution and No disagrregation.
    I attached the query to a web template.
    When I execute the template I am not able to enter or change the key figures.
    Do I have to use any planning function to do that in the web template or I am missing any configuration . Please let me know how to change or enter the key figures
    Thanks
    Senthil

    HI Senthil,
    Please ensure that u have enabled the property  " start Query in changed Mode". This u can find it in the query properties under the advanced tab.
    For the Input readiness this alone is not enough.You have to use all the charecteristics that u have in the multiprovider or the aggregation level over which the query is built.
    regards.

  • How to populate values in DP key figure which is not present in Info Cube

    Hi
    We have a special Key figure in Demand Planning created for uplaoding Forecasts coming directly from customer,
    This key figure is not present in Info Cube and data doesnot pupulate in this key figure through Info cube build,
    Hence data in this key figure is to be loaded externally , Customer sends his forecasts through EDI messages, Now we want to update forecast from external customer in to this  special key figure,
    Please suggest some ways
    Thanks and regards,
    Nitin Lavhe

    Hi
    I think you can get loaded this information in the cube in any other key figure which is available in the info cube. Then while loading the data into planning area using TSCUBE, you can define the key figure assignment.
    In which you define data from which key figure of infocube has to be get loaded into which key figure of planning area. Here you can define the respective key figures.
    Please let us know if it helps you. Please let us know if you require any more information from our side.
    Thanks

  • How to calculate the key figure value on other key figure

    Hi,
    I have a material character and  Packing Hour, No of Boxes key figures. My requirement is i need to calculate the % no of boxes are Packed <2 Hour , 2 to 3 Hour and above 4 hour based on the packing hour.
    Sample data
    Material     Packing hour    No of boxes
    001            1 hr                   5 box
    002            2 hr                   3 box
    003            2hr                    7 box
    004            3hr                    2 box
    005            5hr                    1 box
    Here  we are not considering meterial. We are considering Only Packing hour and no of box  to calculate % no of Boxes within a time period. Please help me out...to calculate % no of boxes based on hour period
    Thanks,
    Rama Devi

    hi
    its like creating buckets for analysis...
    u'll have to create  formula in KF...
    1.
    if (Pack Hrs <= 2) * No Of Boxes
    2.
    If (Pack Hr >= 3 or Pck Hr <= 4) * No Of Boxes
    like this u'll have to create bucket..

  • Af:table filtering(inputDate) don't show results for a specific search date

    Hi again to every one.
    I have a database table as :
    sql> describe YES_NO_DATE_TEST
    FECHA TIMESTAMP(6) --> param search
    DESCRIPCION VARCHAR2(200 CHAR)
    VERIFICADO VARCHAR2(1 CHAR)
    I created my Bussines Components, I have a search page, I drag and drop this DataControl as af:table, called : YES_NO_DATE_TESTView1, to a jspx page ( search page ), I enabled sorting and filtering properties in the af:table .
    af:inputDate value="#{vs.filterCriteria.Fecha}" id="id1">
    <af:convertDateTime pattern="#{bindings.YesNoDateTestView1.hints.Fecha.format}"/>
    </af:inputDate>
    I run the search page, and show me a : af:inputDate , for choose and put a date.
    but, when I choose a date, and press the enter key, the search result by af:inputDate, do not show me nothing.
    How I can solve that ?
    Note :
    In the UI Hints of View Object I put this properties :
    format type : simple date
    format : dd-MM-yyyy
    I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0

    wht is the database column type..??
    It's a TimeStamp Type. ----> FECHA TIMESTAMP(6)
    what is the query that is getting executed in the backend... when you do the search... ?
    My query in the server is :
    Select
    FECHA,
    DESCRIPCION,
    VERIFICADO
    FROM YES_NO_DATE_TEST;
    are you getting the expected results when you run the query..??
    Yes , I m . The query above is made for the View Object. But I don't why when I put a date in the af:inputDate the search don't show me the results that I hope.
    Or , Need I to Programaticallly access to the InputDate and passed to a bind variable on the query ??

  • Different execution plan for same query but for different condition value

    Hi All,
    I'm facing a strange situation where same query for different condition not working.
    1--
    Select  top 10 * from revenuefact(nolock)
    where feecode ='OW4'
    2--
    Select  top 10 * from revenuefact(nolock)
    where feecode ='BTE'
    1st query is returning result easily but 2nd query is taking too long. Column
    feecode has already Non-clustered index and Clustered index is also available for another col RevenueSID.
    I was surprised when checked the query execution plan for both the above queries  which is quite different (as per attached below). Can anyone suggest me the reason behind it.
    And solution for the same. One more thing that data for feecode BTE is inserting through different source instead of others feecode and table contains more than 300 million rows.

    When I speak with people inside Microsoft who work with the optimizer, the refuse to accept the work "bug" when a query produces the correct result, but with a suboptimal plan. They prefer to use the word "limitation".
    The limitation here is that when the optimizer compares two plans, it only looks at the estimated cost. As far as I know, it does not perform any analysis from the perspective "what if the statistics are wrong"? They do provide the hint OPTIMIZE
    FOR UNKNOWN, but that does not work then there is a constant as in this case.
    The optimizer will surely distinguish between TOP 10 and TOP 10000000. With the latter, you have all reason to expect a Clustered Index Scan no matter which value you search for - unless you pick a value for which the histogram indicates that there are no
    rows.
    Interesting enough, I was able to reproduce the situation in my Northgale database, which is an inflated version of Northwind, and where statistics should be accurate.
    SELECT TOP 10 * FROM Orders WHERE EmployeeID = 8
    results in a CI scan, and so does also EmployeeID = 7, and even 5. There are only 2292 rows out of a total of 344305 rows. If I try EmployeeID 808 for which there are 1797, the optimizer goes for the index seek.
