Filters - planar tiling; kalaidescope

I was looking to buy some filters to replace what I used to use with Kai's Power Tools. Like its planar tiling and kalaidescope filters.
I found that Corel has taken over this software, and the filters listed do not appear to contain these two that were part of the collection before.
I also wanted to replace my old Alien Skin Eye Candy filters...and was intending on purchasing one of the new products they have.
I have the CS5 Master Suite.
Does anyone know if Eye Candy also has filters like planar tiling or kalaidescope?
If not, does anyone know where I could find filters like that? Quality filters. Some of the really old filters that did stuff like that are horrible.

Can texturiser filters be applied without the tiling grid effect over an image?

i am working with fairly small images, 30 x 20 centimeters ...12 x 8 inches... @ 300 dpi...and want to apply the Canvas Texturiser filter over the image. but when i do the texture comes up as a grid-like tiled surface which looks very unprofessional. i have had a bit of a play with the scaling of the effect in the dialogue window but the tiling effect still comes up. can this be over-ridden so the texture i want can be applied to look like one large canvas texture? i can provide an example if necessary.

Problem while filtering time

Hi,
I have the same problem. The report works without the time filter (within a time interval of 1 week). In my case, I'm using an external data source (MySQL database table) to feed the BAM data object. But the time filter works with BAM data coming from sensors in other reports. I'm using BAM 10.1.3.1.
Is it a bug? Is there a workaround? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Problems with Tiling in PhotoShop CS6

Hello!
I am having difficulty with tiling in PhotoShop CS6. I am trying to do a half drop repeat and a block (brick) repeat using a single image that I've manipulated with filters, etc.
When I make the pattern and then apply it to a new document, I get some strange striped coloring. The image has been flattened. See screenshot below:
Can anyone tell me why I am getting this strange coloration (I kind of like it, but not what I really want)?

Did you use the Paint Bucket Tool set to Pattern to fill the layer?
If so, go to Edit>Fill and uncheck the Scripted Patterns, press Cancel and then try again.

Mplayer doesn't play anything, could not initialize video filters

I've tried all the options in gmplayer, they all don't work. I'm assuming the command line carries out the same functions. I've tried a couple (but not all) and they didn't work either.

Tiling in a non-tiling manager

First, I am so sorry because I know this has been the subject of many thread. Still my question is pretty precise ...
What would be the best window manager to use if I need some tiling functionality within a floating desktop environment ? Or alternatively what would be the best tiling wm if I really want a floating workspace.
I have minimum needs. Most of the time I just want to see everything in stack fullscreen. But I really prefer tiling with terminals and emacs (specially when I use the speedbar).
I have been using xmonad for a while. I know I can tile window individually. I don't really know if xmonad supports floating the whole workspace because well ... I have been unable to register/unregister xmonad components after the latest ghc upgrade (http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=69681). From that point, I have decided to drop xmonad ...
So my needs are:
- minimum
- prefer a simple wm such as Openbox to a massive desktop environment
- no need for complicated tiling algorithms
- need for simple tiling per workspace
- most applications I use work better in a floating workspace
Hope I did not bother to many people with yet another tiling window manager thread.

i agree that stiler will suit you're needs. you can download the version i use if you'd like. it's one of the earlier versions w/o all the added features (filtering, ctrl+H/V, etc) that i don't use. just adjust the paddings in the top section and try it out with `./manage.py simple`.
I haven't added any of those extra features to main branch, mainly because i like to keep it simple just like you said. They are in a separate branch named "grid" which has dual monitor support, grid layout, filtering etc.
oh i see, sorry to misrepresent; i tried to download your main branch a few times to "update" but it never worked so always went back to my manage.py that was copied out of the forum thread way back when.

Some filters doesn't seem to work right after a fresh install

Hi,
I just begin learning Motion and I am having some problem when following the Apple Pro Training Series book.
Certain filters don't seem to work properly, I cannot add these filters by using the "Add Filter" method, they don't even have a preview image when I click on them in the library.
I first thought there might be something wrong with my computer, so I re-install the entire OS, but after I installed motion, same problem still persist.
anyone have an idea on what's causing this problem?

Sorry I didn't post a complete list at my first post, when I first encountered this problem, I thought there are only several filters that's not behaving properly, but after checking out each and everyone of them now. I began to think there's something wrong during the installation of Motion.
I'll try to re-install it again, and check on the installer log.

Tiling, "Replicate" Video Filter, "Scale"

Is there a plug-in available to do tiling that looks decent? In using the "Replicate" Video Filter (Effects -> Video Filters -> Stylize -> Replicate) or the "Scale" control on the Motion tab to make something smaller, the result is very low resolution, i.e. not nice and crisp the way PhotoShop makes a video frame (or a photo file) when you scale it down. Since tiling involves scaling down, there must be a way to tile such that the images are nice and crisp. Does anyone know of a plug-in that can do this? I supposed I could import all of my footage, frame by frame, into PhotoShop and use the latter, then reconstruct the video from the resulting images, but how tedious!

As you can see, the QuickTime movie produced using PhotoShop looks much better, i.e. PhotoShop does a much better job of tiling than FCP; in fact, tiling in FCP gives a terrible result.
By the way, I also get the same result when scaling (on the "Motion" Tab) in FCE, i.e. the result is terrible compared with the result in using PhotoShop to produce the DV file.

Using NULL and NOT NULL in prompted filters

While trying to grap the concept of prompted filters in sap bo web intelligence, I had a question whether why we cannot use NULL and NOT NULL while creating a prompted filters in our report.

'Is Null' and 'Not Null' are the predefined functions in webi which only eliminate the null values or considering only null values.
'Is Null' and 'Not Null' are itself predefined functions that why you are not getting prompts.
Null values are standard across the databases so this is defined as a function in webi to specific eliminate the null values.
If something is not standard then there is option in the webi to use different operator with static values or with prompts.

Let me try to explain you this time. I have a text field in a TiledViewBean.
When I display the page, the text field
html tag is created with the name="PageDetail.rDetail[0].tbFieldName" say

What are you trying to do? What behavior are you expecting but notseeing?

Without further clarification, I can say that the setValues() methodsNEVER
populates data on multiple rows of a (dataset) model, nor does it affect
multiple fields on the same row. Perhaps what you are seeing is theeffect
of default values. Model that derive from DefaulModel have the ability to
carry forward the values set on the first row to other rows in lieu ofdata
in those other rows. This behavior is for pure convenience and can be
turned off, and it is turned off for the SQL-based models.

I wanted to know how the getValues() method works the reason being,
when the tiled view is NOT bound to a model, it populates all the
fields with the same name as some thing like
PageDetail.rDetail[0].tbFieldValue
PageDetail.rDetail[0].tbFieldValue
in which case, the getValues() method works fine.
But in case where the tiled view is bound to a model, it populates
with different field names such as,
PageDetail.rDetail[0].tbFieldValue
PageDetail.rDetail[1].tbFieldValue
in this case, the getValues() doesn't work. Any soultion to this?

Interactive report column filters to display differently than column values

Greetings...
We use images a lot in our interactive reports to provide a visual representation to a status, or something locked for update, or what-have-you. By default, when a user clicks the column heading of a column which contains images, the drop-down list that shows up displays the actual images, which is nice for the user to identify exactly which thing they want to filter on. The problem is when the user selects on of the options in the filtering drop-down, the resulting condition that is displayed under the interactive report search bar is the HTML code of the image. I'd like something else to display there because showing the user the HTML code is atrocious.
I didn't think what I want is possible, but then I came across the Page Locks page within ApEx (page 4000:291 in ApEx 4.0.1) which displays a list of all the pages of an application and whether they are locked or not. It also allows you to bulk lock or bulk unlock a bunch of pages. That page uses an interactive report with a column called "Status" which contains images that represent whether the page is locked or not. When you click the "Status" column heading to filter, instead of seeing the images of an open and closed lock, you see the words "Page Locked" and "Page Unlocked." And even better... when you select on of them, the condition that is displayed to the user is very user-friendly.
Can someone tell me how this is done so I can replicate it in my own apps?

Why not create the IR using the text you require e.g. 'Lock', 'Unlock' and then use JQuery to replace the text in the report with the image you want. All the filters should then show the plain text and the report will display the image. e.g.

Then create a Dynamic Action with the following attributes:

2. Event: After Refresh
3. Selection Type: Region

View Criteria - how to show the VO filtered differently at a time

My requirement is something like this-
I have a detailsVO which is a join of say employee and department table
I need to show the VO in such a way that-
department1
detailsVO <filtered rows for department1)
department2
detailsVO <filtered rows for department2)
department3
detailsVO <filtered rows for department3)
Here each filtered VO is to be show in different UI table
How do I achieve this? Any suggestions? If I use a VOCriteria with :BindDepartment, how do I bind the same detailsVO to show the details?

SSRS 2008 R2 Report - Sum Totals of a Filtered Group

I'm at a loss here, so any help will me much appreciated. I will do my best to explain, but if you need additional information, please let me know:
I have a very large dataset of patient data. Specifically for the numbers I need, I have a patient number field, a county field, a 1 or 0 for LastYear field, and a 1 or 0 for CurrentYear field.
Example:
PtNo    County PY CY
45676 Scott     0    1
45322 Cape     1     0
47686  North     0     1
The thing I am shooting for on my report is, "Volume growth in 3 counties (+20 cases)."
I created a group and grouped by County (group name County) and I included a group filter to only include "total cases of CY" are greater than "total cases of PY" to narrow my data to only counties that had a higher current year sum
than previous year sum.
Example:
County PY    CY Difference
Scott    141 143     2
Cape     90    98      8
North    78     88    10
All is working well, except I don't need to see the Counties themselves, I just need the 3 counties and a difference of 20.
I explored online and found tutorials that said to right click on the field and select "Add Total" but this total did not have my filter in it and gave me everyone. I also tried adding a row outside the group and used the RunningValue function
(i.e. RunningValue(Fields!FYTD_Current_Year.Value, Sum, "County"))  but it gave me a message that states "The Value expression for the text box 'Textbox456' has a scope parameter that is not valid for an aggregate function. The scope
parameter must be set to a string constant that is equal to either the name of a containing data region or the name of a dataset."
When I move the row with the RunningValue function inside the group, it runs but I get the same information repeated twice for each county with no final total.
So I am not sure how to go about getting my values I need for my report. Anybody know how to resolve this?

Hi Cyndi,
Based on my understanding, you specify a filter condition in group properties. Then you want to sum the filtered values for each field.
In this scenario, we need to specify a filter condition on group level. If we use sum() function out of group, the expression will calculate the total values on dataset level instead of group level. So we can’t simply use expression to achieve this goal.
However, we can use custom code to record the filtered values for each field, then we can calculate the total based on these values. Please refer to the steps and screenshots below:
1. Add the custom code below into the report:

Public Shared Function GetValue1(Item as Integer) as Integer
value1= value1 + Item

I have coded like this.

if I see the links.length i get only one. In html If I see the code
it appends the TileIndex in brackets. If I replace the TileIndex with
0 in all the fields in endCbSystemUrl method I get the correct values.
In the TiledView beginDisplay() method my code is like this.
if (getPrimaryModel() == null) throw new ModelControlException
("Primary model is null");
super.beginDisplay();
resetTileIndex();
pgCustomizeLinksViewBean parentBean = (pgCustomizeLinksViewBean)
getParent();

Any Suggestions on this.

Remember, the getValues() method does not return the values from a column in
a TiledView. It is strictly for use by fields that can have multiple
values, like multi-select list boxes.
DO NOT remove the indexing feature from the field names, especially in the
case of checkboxes, because checkboxes aren't submitted back to the server
unless they are checked. By overriding the automatic checkbox tracking
feature JATO provides, you won't be able to tell which checkboxes were
actually checked by row--you'll simply get back a list the same size as the
number of checkboxes that were checked, without any placeholders for the
ones that weren't checked.
Instead, on submit, you simply need to move through the tiledView and check
the value of checkbox on each row:
tiledView.beforeFirst();
while (tiledView.next())
if (getDisplayFieldBooleanValue("myCheckBox"))
You can use the same construct to build up an array or list:
List checkedList=new LinkedList();
tiledView.beforeFirst();
while (tiledView.next())

checkedList.add(new Boolean(false))
