Financial Year-End date range

Hi
I'm building this Discoverer report and one of my parameters is a LoV date field, which gives me a date range from Jan to Dec each year. Now my problem is, I want my date range to be as per our Financial Year End, which is from 01-Oct-03 to 30-Sep-04.
You'd find "<All>" amongst the range. This "All" currently indicates date between Jan 2003 - Dec 2003. Now I need to write a query/trigger that will put my date range to be between 01-Oct-02 to 30-Sep-03 recurring automatically after each Financial year-end.
Thanks

    Hi,
    Although I haven't tried it, you should be able to use a combination of hierarchies and alternative sorts to accomplish this.
    How have you created your list of values? If your LOV is a list of months and years e.g. JAN-2003, FEB-2003 etc, you can create a alternative sort which will make OCTOBER the first month of the year - i.e. with value 1, and NOVEMBER = 2 and so on...
    Sorry this is a bit vague. I will try and test tomorrow and see if it works, but this should be enough to give you an idea of how to progress.

  • End Date of the Selection Period defaults as tax year end date in P45

    Hi,
    We have recently implemented both HRSP'S and CLC'S. In addition to this, we have also applied the following SAP Notes:
    1. 1305238
    2. 1309852
    3. 1310431
    4. 1316197
    Despite this, we are still having the below problem with the P45 Program.
    The End Date of the Person Selection Period automatically defaults to the end of the tax year, we are now unable to overide the date suggested by the system.
    Can anyone suggest the cause of this issue.
    Rgds
    Sandy

    Hi,
    With the Inyear movement legal changes ,HMRC have now introduced a check where in P45 cannot be produced for leavers who have a future leaving date 30 days from the current date.
    In line with the above changes,the chance of issuing P45 for future leavers is now checked by the P45 program even though the person selection end date is the tax year end date . So that's why the date is getting defaulted from the tax year.
    Hope this could solve your issue.
    Regards

  • Multi-month, year, and date-range views

    My apologies for wasting everyone's time if I've missed something really obvious here, but am I correct in concluding that there is no way to generate anything beyond a static one-month view in iCal? No multi-month view? No year view? No "view date range"? At this stage of the game, how is it possible that something so elemental could be omitted from this program?
    At this point I'm reduced to exporting each month to a pdf file and then arranging them as tiles on the screen. But there has to be a better way.
    Short of a new version from Apple, are there any plug-ins that would do this? Does anyone have any other work-arounds? Thanks in advance.

    A quick search of the forums shows that this is a HIGHLY sought after feature (including by me). We all need to use the feed back link (below) to let Apple know this. In my experience with the tech support folks, they seem to have NO idea about what these forums say. In the past I have actually had them log in to these forums and search the issue I was calling them about and they have been blown away when they see the hundreds / thousands of posts with the very same thing they're discussing with me. So, as the wise man says .. "you don't ask, you don't get!" Use the form and let them know...

  • CURRENT YEAR SALES DATE PARAMATER AND PRIOR YEAR SAME DATE RANGE

    I am pulling data from a SQL view dbo.view that has current and historical SOP data by line.  The date paramater is a date range,  uppr date and lower date formulas are in the report.  I need to include prior year SOP data for the same prior year date range in the detail.  I have tried adding the view in twice with no luck, just duplications.  Ultimately I want to supress the detail and only show the totals by customer so it is comparitive.  Thanks for your help.  Jayne

    OK
    lets simplify it
    get a test data source with some simple dates in it.
    get the report logic working.
    it looks like you have the right formula ideas but lets go for
    @upperthisyear
    @upperlastyear
    @lowerthisyear
    @lowerlastyear
    then assuming a date field of {table1.date}
    the record selection would be
    if (@upperthisyeare > {table1.date} and @lowerthisyear < {table1.date}) or (@upperlastyeare > {table1.date} and @lowerlastyear < {table1.date}) then 1 else 0
    I would test this by using it as a formula field with the test data.

  • Change of Financial Year End

    Hi Experts
    We have been advised that we will be changing our financial year (currently July to June) to tie in with our new acqusition companies fiscal year, which runs from January to December.This will be done with effect from end June 2012.
    Consequently, we will be running a 6 month 2012 fin year (July to December 2012) and then properly aligning with the 2013 fin year from January 2013.
    We have SAP version ECC6 without Flex General Ledger.
    Two approaches have been identified by our consulting company :
    One approach is to make use of the shortened fiscal year functionality. This would allow us to create a shortened FY2013 of only 6 months, which would run from July 2012 to December 2012.The next Fiscal Year would then start in January 2013 and run to December, as required.The only drawback is that the shortened fiscal year would have to be FY2013, although it ends in December 2012, and that going forward, the FY would always be 1 year ahead of the actual calendar year. There is a further impact, in Fixed Assets, the shortened fiscal year will need to maintain a small bit of config, (OAYP) where we stipulate that the depreciation for the shortened year needs to be reduced to match the shortened length of the year.  Also in using the shortened fiscal year approach there is also apparently a couple of SAP notes  that they will need to apply to ensure that the asset depreciation is correctly calculated during the shortened year.
    In the other alternative  the u201Cnew and correctu201D Fiscal years are created and linked to new Company Codes.  All financial transactions are then posted in the new companies from period one of the new Fiscal year.
    The closing balances of old companies are posted as opening balances for the new Companies.
    Some of the other implications are:
    The Profit Centers must be opened in the new companies.
    The stock must be transferred to the new companies.
    The open Purchase orders must be u201Cconvertedu201D to the new companies or new Purchase Orders must be created.
    The Fixed Assets must be transferred to new companies.
    The Controlling Area might be impacted.
    To be able to do Comparison reports we should do a history take on. (This can only be monthly movements per profit center per GL-Account, converted to the new Fiscal periods.)
    Experts, are there any other options that are worth persueing with the least business impact ? Please help, your advise will be highly appreciated.

    If you do not prefer to create new company codes and undergo a conversion effort, you can go with the first alternative and then engage SAP SLO services to replace the shortened fiscal year 2013 in your system to the correct fiscal year.  That way, your next fiscal will remain 2013, and your fiscal year will not be always 1 year ahead of your actual fiscal year.
    Please also read the following SAP note.  There is a lot of material to read in the attachments to this note, but the time that you spend reading it is time well spent.

  • Financial Year end Change

    Dear all
    The Finnancial year end for my client was changed from 31/12/09 to 31/10/09. The financial periods
    was created as 12 months in the fiscal year. This has now decreased to 10 months.
    I can delete the last two periods and create a new fiscal year starting 01/11/09.
    but there are two problems:
    1)The last two periods can be deleted but in the Posting Periods window when drilling down into one
    of the remaining periods the number of periods still shows as 12.
    2)A new Fiscal year with 12 periods can be created starting 01/11/09 but in the Fixed assets module
    when trying to change the fiscal year I get the Following message: "There is no subsequent fiscal
    year for FY09" . Also on the asset master files the depreciation is calculated for 12 months and not for
    te decreased 10 month fiscal year
    Please advise

    Data valid only for past is not allowed, correct end date to a present or future date. Begin date should start from or higher. We have reset the valid From date to current financial year starting date(4/1/2011) using BADI HRXSS_PER_BEGDA_IN. But Valid to date it is taking 3/31/2011 instead of 3/31/2012. Where can we change this Valid to date. Please help me.
    regards,
    Sree.

    Dear Punna rao
    Kindly check this BADI HRXSS_PER_BEGDA_IN and activate it
    below is the IMG for this BADI
    Employee self service-->Service specific settings-->Own data->Change Default start date
    Ask your technical team to activate this BADI, as this requires access key to activate it. Kindly do this process & let me know the out comes, as this must solve ur issue.
    Hope this Info will be useful

  • Capture dates (other than weekends) given a date range

    I have the following code where I'm trying to capture the dates, which fall within the entered range. The code in the default condition is not working. I'm trying to get the date in yyyy-MM-dd format and store it in an array. What am I going wrong ? Thanks.
    int days = 1;
    java.sql.Date date_array[];
    while ( beginCalendar.before(endCalendar) ) {
    switch(beginCalendar.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_WEEK))
    case Calendar.SATURDAY:
    break;
    case Calendar.SUNDAY:
    break;
    default:
    java.util.Date dt = sdf.parse(beginCalendar.get(Calendar.DATE));
    java.text.SimpleDateFormat sql_sdf =
    new java.text.SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd");
    java.sql.Date sql_dt = java.sql.Date.valueOf(sql_sdf.format(dt));
    date_array[days] = dt;
    days++;
    beginCalendar.add(Calendar.DATE, 1);
    }

    Oooops, I sent the wrong version.....sorry about that. This is what it looks like currently. What I'm doing is creating and comparing two calendars, created from a beginning and ending date range. I'm computing the number of elapsed days, not including Saturday and Sunday. I'm trying to add code, in BOLD, to capture the dates found in the range entered. I don't want to have to code three integers to pick up the year, month and day and use parseInt to concat them together...blah, blah, blah. I would like to just use SimpleDateFormat to capture the entire date in yyyy-MM-dd sql date format and load them into an array. Any suggestions ?
    while ( beginCalendar.before(endCalendar) ) {
    switch(beginCalendar.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_WEEK))
    case Calendar.SATURDAY:
    break;
    case Calendar.SUNDAY:
    break;
    default:
    int day = (beginCalendar.get(Calendar.DATE));
    int month = (beginCalendar.get(Calendar.MONTH)+1);
    int year = (beginCalendar.get(Calendar.YEAR));
    java.text.SimpleDateFormat sql_sdf =
    new java.text.SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd");
    // java.sql.Date sql_dt = java.sql.Date.valueOf(sql_sdf.format(dt));
    // date_array[days] = sql_dt;
    days++;
    beginCalendar.add(Calendar.DATE, 1);
    }

  • Date range windowing query...I think

    Trying to do something I've not done before perhaps you can help or point me in the right direction.
    I've got a simple table with events, something like name, start_date, end_date. These events can be duplicates, they can be distinct, they can have the same start_date and different names, or they can have the same name and start_date but different end_dates - any kind of overlap is allowed. There can also be gaps in the events where there is no event that covers a particular date. Really the only thing I can count on is that none of the values will be null. Basically a mess, as far as determining into which event's start-end date range a particular date falls, when there is overlap. However, that's what I need to do. The other wrinkle is that it's okay for me to ignore the end date of an event, for the purposes of gap-filling. That is to say, if there is no event that covers Jun 1, 2010, then I can 'choose' the event that ends prior to Jun 1, 2010.
    I would like to, assuming some analytic function magic that I don't have, take this table and produce another that recomputes the start and end dates so that there is no overlap and the gaps are filled. As an overly simplistic example, given the input:
    name start end
    foo1 jan 1 jan 31
    foo2 jan 15 jan 31
    foo3 mar 1 mar 30
    it would generate
    foo1 jan 1 feb 28
    foo3 mar 1 mar 30
    or, alternatively
    foo1 jan 1 jan 14
    foo2 jan 15 feb 28
    foo3 mar 1 mar 30
    almost any reasonable elimination of overlaps is okay, so long as it makes sense. Are there any of the analytic functions that make this less painful?

    I'm not sure what the PK of your table is and how "funny" the data can get, but your second result can be got by this:
    create table test1 (
    name varchar2(10),
    startd date,
    endd date);
    insert into test1 values('foo1', to_date('20100101','yyyymmdd'),to_date('20100131','yyyymmdd'));
    insert into test1 values('foo2', to_date('20100115','yyyymmdd'),to_date('20100131','yyyymmdd'));
    insert into test1 values('foo3', to_date('20100301','yyyymmdd'),to_date('20100330','yyyymmdd'));
    commit;
    select name,to_char(startd,'mon dd') startd,
    to_char(lead(startd -1,1,endd) over (order by startd),'mon dd')endd
    from test1
    order by startd;
    or, alternatively
    foo1 jan 1 jan 14
    foo2 jan 15 feb 28
    foo3 mar 1 mar 30foo1     jan 01     jan 14
    foo2     jan 15     feb 28
    foo3     mar 01     mar 30

  • Time series questions - how to do AGO function for prior year end

    Question on how to perform the following calculation in OBIEE:
    I need to create a time series calculation that will calculate a metric as of Dec prior year. For example, my users will select Mar 2010. I want to show the amount for Mar 10 as well as the amount for Dec 09. If the select Jun 10, I will show them the amount for that month as well as Dec 09.
    Is there a way to do an AGO function that will give me this value? I can't use a filter calculation on my column because filter on the period will exclude these records

    Thanks John. Your suggestions seems promising but I'm having issues when I tried it out. I am receiving the following error message:
    State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 22046] To use AGO function, the query level ('Fiscal Period, Prior Fiscal Year End Date') must be a static level. (HY000)
    What I did was create a new level off my Fiscal Time dimension which is a child of Total. I tried creating my AGO calculation using this level but received that error message in Asnwers. Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong?

  • How to compare date range ?

    hi, good day , i need some idea on my issue
    scenario :
    i need to know if given a new date range, and check whether this new date range is fall into between the date range
    for example ,
    new_start_date = 15/05/2006, new_end_date = 01/09/2006
    existing start_date = 20/02/2006 , existing end_date = 11/07/2006 so in this case , new start and end date have fall into existing start and end date range, cause it should not interlapse the date range
    - in short, new start_date and end_date cannot in between of existing start_date and end_date , how i write a algorithm on this ? thank you for guidance

  • Stocks discrepancy at year end

    Hello.
    We created an STO to tranfer the Natural Gas from one co.code to another one. Created an outbbound delivery. On March 31, 2009 - Goods receipt done against this delivery (by mistake user selected the stock in inspection rather than unrestricted). An inspection lot gets created. A usage decision taken on April 2, 2009 and quantity comes in unrestricted.
    Now the problem is the Natural Gas stock is not matching at year end date (31 March, 2009). How can we take now the natural gas in our stock again as on March 31, 2009.
    Regards,
    Puneet Goyal

    Hi,
    Please create/run the report ZQEVAC20 which you can see in note 48815, this report will find inconsistency in the lot and will post the stock to unrestricted use if you click the pencil button there.
    Please apply SAP Note : 48815 and created new ZQEVAC20 program for adjust stock in QM & MM.
    So pls. run & check material status using ZQEVAC20 program using sa38 tcode
    Hope this is clear. If not please put your concern.
    Thanks & Regards
