Financing options and reward points

I must admit I was caught offguard when I bought my dad an ipad a couple of weeks ago on the special financing option and did not receive my points. I was confused but after doing some research I saw Best Buy changed their policy last July.  It didn't help that I purchased a new macbook air with the special financing option AND got my points as well the month before (June) the new policy went into affect.
Don't want to sound like I'm complaining but this sweet deal was one of the main reasons I bought the ipad at Best Buy (instead of the verizon store) and was planning on making future big ticket purchases (xbox one, flat screen tv and possible appliances for home) in the next few months at best buy.  I even bought some things I normally wouldn't at best buy just to take advantage of the reward program.
I'm not saying I won't go there anymore but I will definitely look closer at the pricing options at other stores, mainly wal-mart, frys and amazon.  It also seems silly keeping an extra credit card around when I can't fully utilize the benefits I had before so I might cancel that as well.  If I have to pay interest to get my points I can use my American Express, the lower interest rate will be saving money that way instead of getting reward certificates which eventually expire.
All in all, at a time when Best Buy is worried about competing with online retailers (Amazon) and Big Box Stores (Wal-mart) taking away one of the great benefits we had is not the way to keep customers from going elsewhere.  Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.  For the moderators that watch the board feel free to pass on to management that I think they made a mistake and should reconsider.  No need to reply to me, unless they decide to repeal the policy.

Hi rim2002, and welcome to the forum,
I can imagine you may have had a few questions after noticing that zero points posted to your My Best Buy™ account following the purchase of the iPad.  As it appears you have already read, a change to the program terms did go into effect back on 7/31/2013 that basically says a member can either choose points OR promotional financing, but not both.  While your purchase of the iPad may not qualify for points, it should still count toward reaching Elite and Elite Plus status.
I want to thank you for taking the time to post your feedback to the forum.  The feedback that our members provide is greatly appreciated and made visible to upper level management for proper review.  With that being said, I am going to send you a private message to see if there are any other questions I can help answer.  To check your private messages, you would want to login to the forum and click on the envelope icon at the top of the page.

  • Finance options for macbook pro

I am planning to purchase a macbook pro and was looking into possible finance options and found the finance option on the apple website the only problem is it mentioned something about a loan so does this mean if I was to go for the finance option on a £1700 macbook pro and never missed a payment I would be repaying the 1700 and a bit on top even if I never missed a payment.
In other words I only want to choose finance if I only have to repay what I borrow with no interest on top.

Credit Cards... yes. Because they're a "revolving door" when it comes to credit. A loan on the other hand, is not.
I'd say in the case of a "loan" there's going to be some level of interest. The financing options for US customers is different than the payment plans they offer in the UK. I encourage you to visit this website for more details on how the program works-
    http://www.apple.com/uk/financing/consumer/faq.html
Judging by the FAQ, there's definitely going to be some interest. It would appear as though that information is not public (at least on their website) so you'll need to call in for more details and specifics.

  • Reward Points and special financing....unable to use together

We just recently purchased a refrigerator and Sonos Home Theater system.  I am now finding out that we did not earn any rewards becasue we used the 18 month financing option.  I am extremely disapointed in Best Buy.  When we bought the refrigerator at the store we were never told we would not earn rewards.  Then we we purchased our Sonos system online we were not told either.  The only reason why we bought the system now is becasue we received an email about earning 3x rewards.  If we would have know we would have held out on purchasing right now.  When I called customer service I was told it is a Best Buy policy that you cannot earn points and use special financing.  We have been purchasng items from Best Buy for 20years and have never had this issue.  She offered to give me 500 points for my first purchase but could not do anything for my 2nd purchase.  When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was on hold for 15 minutes before I finally hung up.  I am so frustrated....I think we will be returning the system to Best Buy as this was false advertising.  No where in my email did it give any restrictions about financing nor when we checked out did it tel us that.  Shame on you Best Buy....you have just lost a very loyal customer.

    Hi mattwarr,
Welcome to the Best Buy forum!
The points our members can earn from using their Best Buy credit card or any other qualifying form of payment (credit, debit, cash, check) are one in the same.  They are all part of the My Best Buy program (formerly known as Reward Zone), and as of 7/31/2013, a member can choose between either receiving points for their purchase OR taking advantage of a promotional financing offer, but not both.  While the computer you purchased may not qualify for points, it should still count towards you reaching Elite and Elite Plus status.
I have provided a link below that should provide a bit more information; however, I am going to send you a private message to see if there are perhaps any other questions that I can help answer.  To check your private messages, you would want to login to the forum and click on the yellow envelope at the top of the page.  I look forward to further speaking with you.

  • How can I get all the options of Field Point Explorer 3.0.2 in Measurement and Automation Explorer 3.1?

I am a student using LabVIEW and Compact Field Point to implement a
senior design project in Electrical and Computer Engineering.  We
have LabVIEW 7.1 and a cFP-2020 and additional modules.  We are
trying to use the CTR-500 module to output a pulse train to drive a
stepper motor.  We have found instructions online of how to do
this, but they all use Field Point Explorer.  The instructions
make use of options in Field Point Explorer that are not included in
Measurement and Automation Explorer (the software included with the
    cFP).
I have downloaded Field Point Explorer 3.0.2 and followed the
directions.  Now, in LabVIEW, when I using the newly created .iak
file, I get a dialogue asking to find the SubVI: 'FP Read (Float Array
-IO).vi'.  Included with LabVIEW are subvis for FP Read, but not
with the float array part.  So I figure I cannot use Field Point
Explorer created .iaks with LabVIEW 7.1.  So how cannot I access
the same options in Measurement and Automation that I was able to find
    in Field Point Explorer?
    Thanks

    Hi,
FieldPoint Explorer is no longer used to configure FieldPoint systems. However, I do not think that the configuring your system in FieldPoint Explorer is causing the error.
FieldPoint systems are now setup in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX).  Information on setting up FieldPoint systems in MAX can be found in the MAX help under: Installed Products>> FieldPoint. Also, I recommend upgrading to the latest FieldPoint driver and version of MAX.  The FieldPoint VI's will be slightly different when you upgrade, so there is a good chance that this will eliminate the error.
    Regards,
    Hal L.

  • I have a new account and I want to use the reward points

    hi
I just created a new account on Toshiba and deleted the older
    the old account: (radumuresan) http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/profile.jspa?userID=538172580
    the new one: (akhenaton) http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/profile.jspa?userID=538318254
I did that because I couldn't post on a thread ( http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=22110 ) and I thought that it is a problem with my account
now I want to use my 10 reward points (which were not used with the previous account - "radumuresan"), and also, if possible, to transfer (add to the current account - "akhenaton") the 3 reward points earned; it's annoying - my new account ("akhenaton") has no "Reward Points to Assign" (from the beginning) even though I haven't used the 10 reward points in my old account :|
I, also, would like to thank moderator if he/she contacted Toshiba technicians in the problem regarding the XD-bit ( http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=19857 )
I had no chance to do this before the thread was closed (I only got to thank Toshiba Support Team as I was very anxious to run some tests on my "shiny new laptop" with the new BIOS update; later when I tried to edit my post the thread was already closed)
    thank you!
L.E.: now the 10 "Reward Points to Assign" just appeared on my account; 10x (but I still don't see the 3 earned points added too)
    Message was edited by: akhenaton

Hi akhenaton. I am writing a bit off topic, but there i have an opportunity to write you something, because both topics, where you adviced me, are now closed.
I was trying to write you something in the topic about the RAM modules, where you reacted and answer my question. This topic is already closed, so i am not able to add there any post. I just wanted to say you thanks :) I have also problems posting the message in topic about NVIDIA GeForce GO 7600, it wrote me the same, that it has to be approved by moderator or something like that. So i waited for some time and the post finally apeeared the next day. I don't know, when the post has to be approved by moderator and when it is posted automatically. And something about reward points, I think, that you have 10 reward points at your disposal in every topic you created, don't you? Greetings.

  • Yosemite is awful- unable to empty trash, volume options are haywire, error codes on file management, and files won't replace when moved. What are my options at this point?

Like the topic - "Yosemite is awful- unable to empty trash, volume options are haywire, error codes on file management, and files won't replace when moved. What are my options at this point?"
I installed this OS, and it looks nice, but it's terrible to use. I randomly have the volume controls get disabled, and sometimes the volume menu in the system tray does nothing when adjusted which I've never seen in an OS before. The trash won't empty. When I try to drag and drop newer files over existing ones, nothing happens. The old ones just stay there. I have to delete the old ones and then move the new ones. And when I go into the protected files to manage audio plugins (I make music), the first thing I hit are error codes galore, and password prompts that either don't popup when they should, or don't execute the command after I provide my password.
What can I do now that I installed the flames of **** onto my computer?

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nouchg,nouappnd,noschg,nosappnd {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
    resetp
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • My order has shipped and I've received part of it, but NO REWARD POINTS yet????

As the Subject points out, I haven't received the points yet and the website says the points are not rewarded until after shipping.  I'm just wondering where they are?  I have only one account, I logged into the store site prior to purchase, I have only one card, The Sony Financial Services Card which I used to purchase Sony's brand new 4K tv. My Sony account/Sony Reward Points were already linked as I've already received/used Sony Reward Points prior to this purchase of the 4K TV.  So what could be wrong?  Why am I not showing any points for this latest purchase of the TV & 4K video player (they're running a special for a free 4K video player for the purchase of the tv I got, and I have already received the 4K Video Player)? I'm set to receive the shipment of the TV tomorrow between 10am-2pm Central.
Anyone have any ideas as to what may be going on?
    Thank you for your time.

  • Expiration of Reward points and status change from elite status how does this happen?

My rewards point have expired and my elite status has changed. How does this happen?

Good morning John30csx, and welcome to the Best Buy forum,
I can understand questioning why your account status may have been downgraded.  To have retained Elite status, you would need to have spent $1500 on eligible BestBuy.com and Best Buy store purchases during the 2013 calendar year.  If you did not spend at least $1500 by 12/31/2013, then your account status would have been downgraded sometime in February.
From what I can see after looking over your My Best Buy account, you had a $20 certificate that expired in September 2013.  Prior to some program changes that went into effect last year, a certificate would have expired 90 days (180 days for Premier Silver/Elite Plus members) after it was originally issued.  Once a certificate has officially expired, we are unable to issue a new one.
With that all being said, please feel free to send me a private message if you perhaps have any additional questions about the My Best Buy program or your account.  A private message can be sent by clicking on the blue button located within my signature.

  • Massive Negative Point Balance and Reward Certificates That I Don't Want

I made a purchase near black friday and then returned it January (it was defective). In the meantime I was issued $15 in certificates. After the return I now have a massive negative point balance (-363). I don't like having such a negative points balance and I don't need purchase anything in the time-frame before the certificates expire. I would therefore like to return (or invalidate) the certificates and have those points added back to my account. Also if I remember correctly I only returned a $200 tablet, so I don't understand how I got to -363 points.
    Thank you
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Greetings jl2015, and welcome to the Best Buy forum,
I would not want to have a negative point balance either, as it could potentially cause issues with any points that are awarded for purchases you make in the future.  I looked over your My Best Buy™ account using the email address you registered with the forum and can see exactly why your point balance went negative.  Let me see what I can do to help.
As you mentioned, you recently returned an item that had been purchased back on Black Friday.  That return would have resulted in any points you were awarded for the original purchase to be deducted from your account, and since the pre-tax total was about $200 and you used a Best Buy credit card, almost 500 points were deducted from your account.  You did not have sufficient points in your account when the return was processed because they had been converted into two certificates.
In most cases, active certificates in a member's account will be voided and the point values added to their balance in-order to help when there is a negative balance.  The two certificates that you have in your account could help bring you out of the negative.  I will be sending you a private message so that I can go over your My Best Buy™ account with you in additional detail.  To check your private messages, you will want to login to the forum and click on the envelope at the top of the page.
Thank you for posting and for being a My Best Buy™ member!

  • Spent nearly 4 thousand dollars and no points?

Like many others I found to my horror that Best Buy no longer offers points with purchases used with the special financing. I was not told in store that my 4 thousand dollar purchase which included a Samsung refridgerator/stove would not be entitled to the base points because I chose the 18 month financing. While obviously the 80 dollars in rewards is not THAT big of a deal, it's whats kept me coming to Best Buy for many years now as its an added perk on top of the price match that they do. If I would have known that, I would have gone with the no interest financing option my Chase Freedom card is often running, instead of the Best Buy card to recieve those points.
Now knowing the change in policy, I'm guessing also my 1500 dollar projector I bought a couple of months ago, once again with the "special" financing option, didnt qualify for points either.
I understand that this will not go any further then this, and a Best Buy representative (may) reply with some default message explaining the policy is what it is and that they understand my frustration, but understand that you just lost yet another elite plus member who spends thousands of dollars every year with Best Buy and whom has always recommended Best Buy to many others. I hope saving that 80 dollars was worth it.

    Hi fluffytomahawk,
As you may have read in other forum threads, a change was made to the Program Terms that says a member can either select standard financing and receive points OR promotional financing and receive zero points (base and bonus).  That change officially went into effect back on 7/31/2013, so just about a year ago.  You should be able to find this information posted on BestBuy.com, MyBestBuy.com, and within our stores locations.
While a purchase that is applied to a promotional financing offer will not qualify for points, it should still count toward reaching Elite and Elite Plus status.  I do apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced by not knowing this change took place last year, and I would like to see if there are any other questions I can perhaps help answer.  To do that, I will be sending you a private message.  You can check your private messages by logging into the forum and clicking on the envelope icon at the top of the page.

    Hi,
Just copy paste this code, activate and test.
    INNER JOIN.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF  t_vbak,
                 vbeln TYPE vbeln,
                 END OF t_vbak.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF t_vbap ,
           vbeln TYPE vbeln_va,

DATA: it_vbak TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF t_vbak.

    loop at it_vbap into wa_vbap.
    WRITE:/ wa_vbap-vbeln, wa_vbap-posnr.
    endloop.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INNER AND LEFT OUTER JOIN.
    With respect to above example,
INNER JOIN will fetch all those datas with reference to VBAK in VBAP.
LEFT OUTER JOIN will also fetch all those datas with reference to VBAK in VBAP. But it will also fetch those data which are in VBAK, But not in VBAP.
    hope this helps.

  • GCU extra Rewards points received but no discount online

Like countless others I've been to the store multiple times with GCU gift card. The associate at the store told me that my membership was activated this past time I went in, but I noticed that it still doesn't appear online. I have recieved 2x Rewards points for every video game purchase I made in December, but still don't get the discount when I put things in my cart.
Can someone please check my membership status and let me know if I need to go back into the store again, and if so tell me exactly what I need to tell the associate? I can't exchange the cards because none of the stores in my area have the normal blue card, only the gift card.
    Thank you.

    Hello thefizzle656,
While it sounds like you certainly had your share of difficulties with activating your newly purchased Gamers Club Unlocked (GCU) membership, I’m very happy to hear that you were able to get this sorted out. With that said, there is absolutely no reason this should have taken you three trips, if that was the case. Our stores should be privy to how these activations work when buying the Gifting Card option of GCU and it sounds like this definitely wasn’t the case. I do apologize for the time you had to spend on this, especially since it should have been activated during your first visit.
Thanks for sharing your feedback with us here on the forums and I hope you enjoy the benefits of GCU! Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you need any assistance in the future.
