Finished  Good Stock Upload

Dear All,
I gave two Ques regarding master data upload at the time of initial stock upload.
1) How to upload the Finished Goods Stock, and how to handle the value of stock.b'coz the price indicator is S.if we will upload it goes Cost Difference accout.
2 ) In the Stock of raw material should we upload the moving average of material in material master.

u can use LSMW for the same
mantain all the 13 steps over there using transaction LSMW
or you can do it by MB1C movemnt type 561 in the later screen give the material and qty when you will press enter it will take you to the new screen where there is a feild known Amout in local currency give your standard price there it will sore the same price in the material master.
2. For the raw materials it should be moving average price.
Prerequisite the material should be created with the price indicator S for FERT and V for ROH
Enjoy SAP

  • Report on Finished goods stock

    Hi friends ,
    I got a task to do .
    Description:
"Age Analysis of Finished Good Stock: - Interactive report. Double click on the line item will give the batch wise stock details."
Can any one give some more elaborate information regarding this.
And please give what are the tables and fields might necessary for this.
    With Best Regards,
    Priyanka Sai.

    Hi satya,
the report says that depending on the days difference of your material...the stock details shud be diplayed in the secondary list....
hence for priomary list using the table MARA for a material number calculate the ageing period..in the sense sysdate-created date(ersda)..gives the days analysis..
for this in the secondary report code such that stock details from MARD,MARC,MARDH is retreived...chck the reqquired fields..
matnr, ersda, and corresponding fields of stcok in the other tables...
hope this helps u a bit,
    all the best,

  • Uploading Production Requirements For Finished Goods From External System To Run MRP For Components in SAP.

    Hello Production Planning experts,
I'm looking to solve the current business problem:
The company bought a third party software (JD Edwards) to calculate production requirements instead of using SAP's standard Production Planning or a tool like SAP's APO. They run a batch job to query Sales Orders, Deliveries, available stock, stock in transit, etc. from sap and feed/upload it to the third party software so it can calculate the Finished Goods Production Requirements for them. They love the third party software, so replacing it is not an option. Since the third party software is already taking into account Sales Orders, Deliveries, available stock, stock in transit, etc. from SAP, it just outputs a "Finished Goods Production Schedule" by week.
    My questions are:
    1) What's the best way to upload something like that in SAP in the form of Planned Orders or something of that nature?
After i get that schedule in SAP:
    2) Is there any way to calculate components' requirements for that "Finished Goods Production Schedule" alone? The company would like to IGNORE existing stock AND expected-goods-issues in the future (sales orders, deliveries, etc) for Finished Goods ONLY. The components calculations would work the standard MRP way, taking into account existing stock and AND expected-goods-issues in the future (sales orders, deliveries, etc)
I started looking into Master Production Schedule (MPS), but I don't know if that's the right approach since I'm not very familiar with it.
Thanks in Advance! I will gladly reward points for helpful/correct answers.

    Hello Oscar
I suggest you to upload your production plan in the for of "Planned Independent Requirements" using BAPI BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_CREATE. Later, MRP will create planned orders to cover the PIRs.
If you don't want to consider the existing stock of the finished product, you should use the planning strategy 11 to create your PIRs. Take a look on the following link for more details about this planning strategy:
Gross Requirements Planning (11) - Demand Management (PP-MP-DEM) - SAP Library
Here you will find the following information:
The make-to-stock strategy gross requirements planning is particularly useful in mass production environments; it is often combined with repetitive manufacturing. This strategy is particularly useful if you need to produce, regardless of whether you have stock or not. For instance, steel or cement producers might want to use this strategy because they cannot shut down production; a blast furnace or a cement factory must continue to produce, even if this means having to produce to stock.
This strategy is also frequently used if there is a Material Requirements Planning system in a legacy system that needs to be linked to an SAP system which serves as a production execution system. The legacy system calculates a specific production plan, which has to be executed, regardless of the stock situation in the SAP system
It looks like this planning strategy is exactly what you are looking for.

  • Stock upload - Goods receipt date, FIFO

We are doing our initial stock upload using LSMW based on goods movements.
When posting a goods movement the posting date will be used for FIFO considerations.
That's fine when your system is operative, but during the initial stock upload the posting date will be the same for all movements, which is not what we want.
Is there a way to transfer a GR date from the legacy system?
(Opening the posting periods to any date in the past is not an option).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Andreas

If you had a GR on May 2nd of 1000 and another GR on Oct. 1st for 500  and your currect stock is 800, then you just know that the last GR date was Oct. 1st. But this is not the truth for all stock on hand. So FIFO cannot work. So the field has just information caracter.
SAP will capture such info at batch level. Different software, different concepts. so each batch can have its own last GR date, and you distinguish the stock by batches, and can use batch search strategy to find the oldest one.
Without batch managment, SAP has this information about last goods receipt at quant level in warehouse managment.  Do you use WM module?
(even then I have no standard solution to manipulate this field while doing the stock load)

  • Year end Valuation of Finished Goods

    Hi
We have an issue with respect to valuation of Finished Goods. As of fiscal year, there is some stock of Finished Goods, which is valuated at a certain price. On the first day of the next financial year, we run the standard cost estimate, release it, which would change the price in the material master. however, the stock declared at the end of financial year, cannot be changed in the next financial year. The change should be applicable only for the stock produced in the next financial year. How can we account for it?
    Regards
    Sanil Bhandari

    Dear Sanil,
Try to use MR21. This revaluate the material based on the closing stock as on date, irrespective of produced date.
Hope this could help you out.

  • Procurement of finished goods

    All,
We have a scenario of procuring finished goods into Finished S location and from there directly do the PGI to customers in SD .
This scenario we are not treating as a third party scenario , which shud be actually .
In this case what will be the accounting implications .?
Means while doing GR , it will go to inventory account . Now how this can be consumed from here .?
Kindly advise better way to tackle this scenario .
    regards

    Hi,
I am not sure why you think there would be a problem.
When you purchase the stock, the auto account assignment settings will place it in nthe "finished stock" account and when you post the goods issue you will be removing it from that same account.
When you say that there will be no consumption, surely you are issuing the stock via a delivery and goods issue? this consumes the stock from the finished stock account.
Buying finished products is not unique, many people / organisations do this and it all works fine. (But most of them use a different material type such as HAWA - trading goods, but this in NOT essential)

  • Non saleable returned finished goods which are discarded handled in SAP

    Hi Gurus,
I have a question with regards to Sales return.  I have some returned finished goods which was taken back in the system and reserved for quality check.  Here FG stock was debited and COGS was creditedat the time of physical receipt of material.  But after quality check it was decided to scrap the material.  How does the system pass the entry for the discarded stock.
    Rgds,
    MRS

    Hi
The entries you have mentioned had set off the goods issue entries.
Now when damaged - the materials can be scrapped with movement type 551
    thanks

  • Rework on sales return finished goods material

    Hi all,
There is sales return finished good in stock.
This FG is rejected by quality assurance due to some quality reasons.
Now, rework to be done on this FG to make it as per quality standards,
After rework the material code of FG will remain same and sales will dispatch this FG in the same code.
How to show this rework process and what r the steps.

    Hi,
This is handled via Rework Order type, I Feel PP would be the better forum to Get better details regarding your issue, its a normal process in production to do rework on materials once they are identified as not meeting the required specification.

  • Issue Finished Goods

    Hi All,
For few finished goods we have not entered stock in our opening balance since we didnt ahev any stock for them.
now the customer has returned some FG item which we have taken as sales return item. while trying to issue these items in the Bill of material of other items  we get an error " Item cost not found"
    wht could be the reason.

    Hi Prince......
It seems you don't have put Item Cost while Entering Opening Stock.
Please make sure of this. Else you may have to do inventory Revaluation of these Items......

  • Finished Goods valued at Future Standard price at the time of Delivery .

    Hi,
My client requires the Finished Goods to be valued at Future Standard price at the time of delivery from Production order. This is required because in case there are frequent changes in the material prices, i can mark my material several times.. and change the future standard price.
I have checked and found that it is always valued at Current standard price only.. and not at the future standard price.
    1) i have tested by changing the costing variant in OPL1 ( Planned costing variant for Production orders).. such that the valuation variant picks up the Future price... it seems it will work only for the Raw materials and SFG's consumed in the Production order and not for the Finished goods.
    2. Define valuation variant for Goods received option in the IMG - It seems it is relevant only when your FG is valued at Moving average price only.. so not relevant for my case.
    My question :
Can i value my Finished goods at future standard price ( i.e Marked standard cost estimate ) at the time of receiving goods from Production order ? If yes how ?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Siva

    Hi Siva
It is very much possible, but you need to use exit... I think exit COPCP002 should be the relevant....
Usually, this is used to valuate the GR in case of Valuated sales order stock... I guess this should work in MTS also...
The reason why I feel it should be possble, is that if you read SAP text for the IMG Step Define Goods Received Valuation for Order Delivery, it says at the end
For materials with price control S, on the other hand, the credit posting is always made at standard price.
If you deliver to stock at a price that is not the standard price, the system will report an output price variance in variance calculation
Hence, it should be very much possible to achieve what you want.. Only thing is it will hit a PPV and that you need to find relevant exit if the one abov does not work
