Firefox opens application/vnd.adobe.xdp+xml in new Tab/Window

Hello,<br /><br />I´m using  Livecycle Designer 7.0, Acrobat Reader 7, 8 and 8.1. <br />We want to open XDP File (with a PDF enclosed element) in browser using a Java/Servlet.<br />It opens fine in IE 6.0 but when we open it with Firefox 2.0.0.9<br />it´s opened in a new tab!. Any idea to avoid this behavior?. Sth worng with de pluggin?<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />/*Servlet code*/<br />String content = "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding='UTF-8'?>\n" +<br />"<?xfa generator=\"AdobeDesigner_V7.0\" APIVersion=\"2.2.4333.0\"?>\n" +<br />"<xdp:xdp xmlns:xdp=\"http://ns.adobe.com/xdp/\">\n" +<br />"<xfa:datasets xmlns:xfa=\"http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-data/1.0/\">\n" +<br />"<xfa:data xfa:dataNode=\"dataGroup\">\n";    +<br />"<form1><TextField1>aaaaaaaa</TextField1></xfa:data>" +<br /><pdf href=\"pathname/filename.pdf\" xmlns=\"http://ns.adobe.com/xdp/pdf/\" />\n" +                <br />"<xfdf xmlns=\"http://ns.adobe.com/xfdf/\" xml:space=\"preserve\">\n" +<br />"</xfdf>\n" +<br />"</xdp:xdp>\n";<br />                <br />ServletOutputStream out = response.getOutputStream();<br />response.setContentType("application/vnd.adobe.xdp+xml");<br />response.setHeader("Content-Disposition","inline;filename=xdpfile.pdf");                              <br />bytes[] contentBytes = content.getBytes("UTF-8");<br />response.setContentLength(contentBytes .length);<br />out.write(contentBytes );<br />out.flush();<br />out.close();<br />/*Servlet code*/

I have a different issue.  When I open the xdp in a browser it only displays the xml code on the screen.  Do I need something else installed on my intranet server?  I can open the referenced PDF directly in the browser and if I map to the drive the xdp is located I can open it directly.  The browser just wont work for me IE 6.  <br /><br />Any help would be greatly appreciated.<br />Xdp file:<br /><br /><?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><br /><?xfa generator="XFA2_4" APIVersion="2.4.6053.0"?><br /><xdp:xdp xmlns:xdp="http://ns.adobe.com/xdp/"><br /><xfa:datasets xmlns:xfa="http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-data/1.0/"<br />><xfa:data<br />><topmostSubform<br />><memberNum>1234</memberNum<br />><memberName>Brian</memberName<br />><currDate>3/25/2009</currDate><br /></topmostSubform></xfa:data><br /></xfa:datasets><pdf href="Sign.pdf" <br />xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/xdp/pdf/"/></xdp:xdp>

  • How do I always open email messages as "view message in new tab window"?

Hi, right now my email displays all my messages in a small top window, and the viewed message in a small bottom window.  Then when this happens if I click the "view message in a new tab window" button on the displayed email, it will get rid of all my messages and just display the main message in a larger window.  I like that.  Problem is I have to click that button for each email that I open, and that can be a hassle when I have to open and read hundreds of email messages.
Is there any way I can set the default settings of the email to always open email, by default, as "view message in a new tab window"?

Ok, I looked through the help files and found that if I double click on a message in the main email window (and also click the upper left and upper right arrows to close those windows in the email folder), I almost get to read that entire message in a full window.  That's a lot better to know that.

  • Won't load application/vnd.wap.xhtml+xml

Used to view 511NY.org (Road conditions) on FF 3.X. Upgraded to FF 4 and now asks me what to do with 511NY.org because it's an application/vnd.wap.xhtml+xml. Asks do I want to Save it or Open it? I say Open it with FF, then instead FF4 downloads a page to my hard drive. The text of the page is html as above but it won't open. I tried it on IE7 and it opened correctly just as it used to on FF 3.X. Please help! thanks.

    See: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/796303
The user-agent detection was incorrectly identifying FF4 as a mobile browser, in turn redirecting to a mobile version. Install the following addon to workaround this problem until it's fixed: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/xhtml-mobile-profile/

  • URL Hyperlinks in Acrobat (and InDesign) open in new Tab/Window

I really don't understand, why this feature isn't  implemented yet. I tried to google a workaround and found hundreds of posts auround this problem. People where asking how they could do this since 2002 (the oldest post I could find) maybe earlier.
Please make sure Acrobat - and also InDesign - get this feature in the next version - because people want to have it!!!
    What do I talk about?
    The following feature:
    I include a textlink or and Image-link into a PDF-File.
Because of the Standard Browser settings most of the people who download a PDF-File will see the PDF in a Browser Tab. Now, if they hit one of the links (included in the PDF) the link opens in the same window/Tab. The PDF is closed. The only way to get back to the PDF is to hit the return button of the browser or reload the PDF. Normally I would like to open these links in a new Tab or Window. But there is no function nor in Acrobat, neither in InDesign to make the Link open in a new TAB/Window.
I know there was a possibillity  using JavaScript (app.launchURL("http://www.MySampleURL.com/someFolder/somePage.html", true);)
and this worked. But now because of the security settings of Acrobat X and later it only works if the user changes the settings. So, it's no longer useful because most of the users won't know how to make the links work.
So at the moment there is NO WAY to make the link open in a new Tab.
I know If I link another file, it askes me where to open - new window or the same. Why can't you implement it for URL's too?
Sorry, I searched the whole day to solve this problem. And I can't understand, why Adobe doesn't look at there customers needs (since 2002 or earlier).

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

  • Opening file in a new tab/window

    Hi,
I have a form (HTML added through a widget) and a number of images on one page. I want each image to be a link to a file, where the images will be seen full quality. however, doing this takes visitors away from the page instead of opening a new tab/window - then clicking back means that the form data is lost - i.e. tickboxes are no longer ticked, etc.
I cannot use the photo viewing page included in iWeb, as the pictures will then overlap with my form because the enlarged images are loaded on the same page.
I hope this makes sense, and if anyone could help with opening files in new tab/window it would be great, or a way of opening a photo viewing platform in a separate tab/window directly from a click of one of the photos. I have seen other sites - http://www.aroundthebusch.com/Folio/London%20to%20Istanbul.html
(this is not mine) where the photo viewing "platform" is IDEAL. I would love something just like this if someone could advise.
i do not want the photos to link to an external page (which can be opened in a new window) as it would mean me creating separate pages for each picture, and linking them all... no way!
Also, it would obviously be preferable to be quick to set up, but also to change. I would need to have multiple pages of many photos, each with the viewing facilities so it could not take a long time to set up. I may also need to add/delete some photos, so if all the linking work was done automatically it would be fantastic.
    Any help much appreciated,
    Thanks in advance, James

If you open it in javascript and specify a height/width or location it should open in a new window.
    window.open("http://www.adobe.com", "_blank", "toolbar=yes, scrollbars=yes, resizable=yes, top=500, left=500, width=400, height=400");

  • When I click on the new tab button, a new tab does not open or when I go to file new tab a new tab will not open either.

When I click on the new tab button, a new tab does not open or when I go to file new tab a new tab will not open either.

Un-install the '''''Ask Toolbar''''' until Ask fixes the problem caused by their toolbar.

  • Open link in new tab/window problem

I have the following problem: I have a menu with h:commandLinks and I use faces.config configurations for my navigation. When I choose to open a menu entry in a new window or a new page the old page is displayed and I have to click again on the menu entry in order to navigate to the new page.
Does anyone know what is causing this? How could I make it work so that the user gets the content of the desired page in the new tab/window?
    Thanks

    Hi,
sorry for the late response. I have h:messages on the page and I don't get any errors. I try to open the link so: right click on the link and then I choose "Open Link in New Tab" or "Open Link in New Window".
If I simply click on the link everything works fine and the new page is displayed but when I use the right click menu the same page is displayed and I have to click again to obtain the desired page.
    thanks

  • Tip Message with hyperlink to open in new tab/window

    Hi Guys,
I have created a FND Message which has the following content:
some text <a href="https://www.google.co.uk"target="_blank">Click Here</a> some more text
This is referenced in a custom OAF page as a Tip Message (OATipBean), the text and hyperlink render with no issues, however the hyperlink does not open in a new tab/window (it opens in the current tab) - when you view the source of the page the '...target="blank"...' is not there:
    ... <a href="https://www.google.co.uk">Click Here</a> ...
Is there a way of getting hyperlinks in Messages to open in new tabs/windows?
    Regards
    Carl

I think part of your problem might lie in the way you are trying to use your quotation marks.  It appears you are trying to have the single quotes do what double quotes should be doing.
    document.write("<a href='"+imagelinks[ry]+"' target='_blank'><img src='"+myimages[ry]+"' border='none'></a>
If you want to have doublequotes appear in code as doublequote characters you can try slashing them to have them read literally... \"
    document.write("<a href=\""+imagelinks[ry]+"\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\""+myimages[ry]+"\" border=\"none\"></a>

  • Audio problem opening application/vnd.ms-powerpoint

I frequently receive emails with attachments containing pps files (application/vnd.ms-powerpoint). I have no problem opening the files and seeing the images contained in these files. But sometimes I am told to listen to the music accompanying the images, but I don't get any audio.
When I resend the email to Windows using friends, they can listen to the music. For your info I have Microsoft Office X installed in my computer. Is this an issue involving the powerpoint viewer? Does anybody know what is going on here?
I thank you in advance for any insight you can provide, towards resolving this problem.

Hello teo, & Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Not sure this will help, but it should tell you something about your system,
    hopefully.
Go here I looked in Presentation's preferences i do not see anything there. Check your QT preferences in Sys. preferences->QT, to make sure they are correct for playing the file type you do not get to hear. Do you use apple mail app. to view your emails ?
Good Luck, Please keep us posted.

  • Link to published course only works when you right-click open in new tab/window (Firefox)

I have encountered an issue where my published captivate course will not load correctly (all I get is a black screen) in Firefox when clicking on the web link. All I get is a black screen. Refreshing doesn't help either. However if I instead right click on the hyperlink and select "open in a new tab" or "open in a new window" the course loads properly. I have been told that it works just fine in IE and Chrome.
If any of you would like to test this in Firefox visit http://www.wakeprecinctofficials.com/p/training-resources.html and the link in question is called the Laptop 101 Online Course. I appreciate any help. Thanks

I tested your link in Firefox 3.6 and IE9.  Black screen only in Firefox.  Works fine in IE.

  • Open applications not appearing in dock or command-tab.

I am using 10.9.5 on a Macbook Air and I've noticed recently that open applications don't display icons in the dock.  Command-Tab also doesn't show the icons of all open applications either.  This seems to be recently occurring.  It's quite frustrating switching between applications when command-tab doesn't show the open application icons nor are the icons of open apps displayed in the dock.  Any ideas are appreciated.
    Thank You

Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. At the prompt paste the following:
         killall Dock
Press RETURN. See if that helps.

  • Command to open a PDF generated Oracle Report in New browser window

I know this is probably something for the Oracle Forums but I'll ask anyway because I can't find any info out there on this, without some extra work.
I am generating a PDF file from 10g Oracle reports on Linux RHEL 5 and storing the PDF file to the server. I can send that PDF file directly to a printer with the "lpr" command and that part works fine.
What I'm wanting to do now is "View" the PDF from within the server in a new window. We are using RHEL 5 (Linux) platform and I'm trying to see if there is a way to open the file with a "command line" command that will open it in a new browser window or new window period (opening it with Adobe Acrobat).
Does anyone have a command that will do this? Otherwise, how has everyone else been handling this. The idea of just viewing the previously generated PDF Report file will save us overhead on our database servers because they won't have to re-run some of the same reports over and over.
Any help and assistance is appreciated.
    Chris

    Several options:
    - If you only want to show the pdf to the client without printing, use destype=cache and use WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT after the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT (for examples search the forms-forum, there are lots)
-If you have to generate the pdf to a file to get it printed, you could
+use WEBUTIL_FILETRANSFER.AS_TO_CLIENT after the printing to transfer the file to the client, then use CLIENT_HOST to view it.
+map the appserver-directory you generate the report to as a virtual directory in the application-server then use WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT to directly access the generated file via url.

  • Opening links on a pdf in a new browser window in IE

I am trying to get the links embedded in a pdf to open in a new browser window. I applied the follow javascript to the link's action:
    app.launchURL("myUrl", true);
This works in Firefox, a new browser window opens, but not in Internet Explorer. In IE, it still replaces the pdf with the page being linked to. Has anyone come up against this? Thanks.

    thanks for the quick feedback-
no, because my customer is using the IE 6. According to the system
requirements all these Acrobat/Reader versions should also run
    properly under IE 6 http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3796
I have a look in IE >> manage- add-ons and got the following Add-ons
    for adobe
    - Adobe PDF
    - Adobe PDF Conversion Tool helper
    both are enabled!
    Do I need more?
can u pls check, if u have the following ddl's in the adobe home dir:
    Acropdf.dll, Acroiehelper.dll,Gbdetect.dll and Pdfshell.dll
    Thanks

  • On some sites ctrl-t ctrl-n do not open a new tab/window. example: youtube

On some websites (not just a c0uple but many) when I press ctrl-t to open a new tab nothing happens. Same with ctrl-n. Using the File menu works fine but not the hot keys. On most pages they work fine: on your "troubleshooting information" page it works fine. I can't figure out any pattern. The option is set for open new window in new tab and it works fine. It seems to be the hot key. I just upgraded to Firefox 6 beta but it's been the same with the last several versions I've used.

'''Bug 78414''' – Application shortcut keys (keyboard commands such as f11, ctrl+t, ctrl+r) fail to operate when plug-in (flash, acrobat, quicktime) has focus

  • I use option on webpage to open something and end up with empty new tab.

I am on a web page and there is an option to open or analyse another available page. I press the button or highlighted option. It then shows me it is transferring data and forwards me to a new tab but when it says done the new page has nothing on it. There is no option pop up allowing me to enable scripts so I end up with nothing. An example is on orange.fr. It asks if I want to see my bill (facture) I press (consulter ma facture) It appears to be loading a new page and is transferring info but the new page opens and it is empty. There is no option to allow scripts.

Is that a PDF (Adobe Reader) file or a normal web page?
