Firefox tells me I need to upgrade to 4.0, when I do it tells me my Mac is not compatible for this version. But yet I keep getting alerts saying I need to upgrade????? Help

I just don't understand whats happening. I have been told that I should upgrade to forefox 4.0, and when I do it won't let me install it as it says my Mac is incompatible. But yet alerts keep coming that strongly recommend updating. I really don't understand what I have to do?

I thought they had sorted out the problem of Firefox asking users to upgrade when they had a machine not compatible with firefox 4. Some comments in this :[/questions/816557] may help
