First Time Downloader: Error in downloading

Hi,
I just installed iTunes for Windows XP. When I try downloading my first song, a dialogue box pops up in iTunes and I get an error messgae saying "There was an
error downloading your purchased music. The required file cannot be found."
Has anyone seen this?

FCE 2 first time startup error message.

I am trying to install FCE 2 on a mac mini with 0.5Gig ram. I am using the master disk. I get the following message on startup for the first time. You must have at least 1 Easy Setup file. Please re-install Final Cut Express HD and try again.
I have tried Tom's suggestions. Same problem on the second install. Any ideas. I updated FCE to 2.0.3. The specs list with my account are not correct for this computer. The operating system is 10.4.2.

To whom it may concern:
The IMG_ERR_PAR1 error is a little ambiguous and what I've initially found on it indicates that it pertains to a call made to a previous version of the driver embedded inside your driver install. A couple of ideas:
1) Check that your interface name or board ID is correct in the IMAQ initialization (This is assuming that this error happens when you're running a program to execute a snap or grab. When you said "every first time startup - error occurs," I'm not quite sure what you mean as to when the error actually occurs).
2) What version of the IMAQ driver are you using? I'd recommend that you make sure you have the most recent version available at http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/webcategories/85256410006C055586256BBB002C0D10?o
pendocument&node=132070_US. You'll want IMAQ 2.6.1.
See if this will do anything for you. Best of luck. If we have to go further with this, I'll need more specific information than was initially provided.

First time downloading an app and getting "waiting" message

I am very new to using Mac, but tried to download an app from the app store for the first time yesterday - Keynote - onto my MacBook Pro. I don't know the system details - it is about 11 months old if that helps?
The first time i tried, it said 'installing' for a long time, until I accidentally deleted it from the dock at the bottom of the desktop when trying to look for details. I went back to the app store and tried to install it again, and it has now said "waiting" for the past 24 hours, and the bar under the icon hasn't moved.
I am connected to decent speed internet at a University, so don't think that is likely to be the problem.
Would appreciate any help - and if possible, for that help to be in very simple language (not Mac-speak), as I am still a very basic Mac user! Thanks!

I don't know the system details - it is about 11 months old if that helps?
Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac the click More Info then select Overview from the menu. Since your Mac is so new it's probably running v10.7 Lion.

Not just download sppeeds that can be a problem. See if this is a proxy issue...
Click the Apple menu icon again, then from the drop down menu click System Preferences then click Network > Advanced > Proxies.
If any of the boxes on the left are selected, then it may be the school's network admin has required that you use a proxy (filter) for blocking certain ares on on the internet such as the Mac App or iTunes Stores.
If none of the boxes on the left were selected, try re downloading the app. You will not be charged again.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Also, if you have anti virus software installed, you need to disable that in order to download apps from the App Store.

PS DataMover starting in bootstrap mode first time in error.

I installed PS Tools 8.51 in Windows 7 with oracle 11g. When I start first time Data Mover it gives ‘Missing or invalid version of SQL library PSORA (200, 0)’. However I could able to connect thru SQL Plus and SQLDeveloper. Please help me what I am doing wrong. When I try to install PS ODBC, it gave incomplete informing Crystal run time not found.
I do not see any rows in PSDBOWNER table.

Hi Peri,
Is the entry of your oracle instance setup correctly in the tnsname.ora, listener.ora files under both 64bit & 32bit Oracle directory? (try to using the sqlplus to connect from another box to see if the connection works or not.)
Here's some tip for the ORA-12154 error: http://ora-12154.ora-code.com/ (for more you can refer to Oracle Documentation, I guess this should be somewhere located where I didn't know.)
Do you run the data mover from the same box where you install the 64bit DB?
I would suggest if you can run from another box. Install the 32bit Oracle client, PSoft workstation(or install as File Server), etc.

I have also been having another problem - with BBC iPlayer and other video streaming not working due to insufficient bandwidth, despite my overall download speed being consistently around 50Gb. This is also affecting AppleTV downloads
I am using Virgin Media as my ISP, and was wondering whether you do as well. This might be the common thread.

Problem with app-v packages - opens first time, then error

I've recently deployed some app-v packages via sccm.
the reason for this is that previously we had the few app-v packages we're actually using in our Citrix environment.
but.. some update has broken something.. and the packages don't work anymore..
and the people responsible for citrix aren't really that interested in fixing it since they want it out of citrix.. which is fine.
So.. I deployed some packages via sccm.
What's happening is:
I start the app-v package on a client and all is well..
I then close the app and start it again...
But now it fails..
one package is really just a pdf file.. it opens fine in the local adobe reader..
the second time I open the same package I am prompted to choose language in adobe.. and when I do the adobe window hangs for a few seconds and then the package (and adobe reader) closes..
In the sftlog I see:

The subsystem shouldn't be the issue.
It might be that AdobeReader writes back some data to the 'App-V User Delta' (.pkg file) that isn't consistent.
It might be worth having a look into a user's .pkg files (use Tim Mangan's PKGView and/or Gridmetric's Application Virtualization Explorer Classic) and perhaps delete Adobe related information using a pre-launch script.
I'd personally use the path to Adobe Reader as the FILENAME and the document path as the PARAMETER, but I'm not sure if that'd change anything.
Running AdobeReader from within an App-V environment may cause some trouble (depending on the reader version, protected mode on/off, plugins)

MS-9130 trying onboard SATA for first time, BIOS error messages

I have a K8T/MS-9130 based system with a single OPTERON 144 CPU and 2GB RAM. It was in service for a long time, then stored, now I am returning it to service but need to use SATA HDD.
When I enabled SATA on BIOS, I now receive messages like this, during BIOS start-up:
"TAB Key into user Window" (however, when I hit TAB key, nothing happens)
"Hardware initiate failed, g to continue"
My SATA HDD (generic 400 GB Western Digital), SATA data cable and SATA power cable were all tested temporary on a PCI SATA card in the same computer, and found to work OK. I have several SATA devices planned, so I wish to use on-board SATA interface (2 ports available.)
Under Windows 2000 SP4, the device manager shows error for RAID SATA with this message: "Device cannot start (Code 10).
System information during BIOS start-up:
MS-9130 BIOS mainboard V1.3 071304
SATA Bios 2.02

I now understand this is a frequent reported problem - when I read the forum "sticky" messages (of course, after I posted this new message, I am sorry to say), I believe the VIA VT8237 is a problem with SATA-2 drive interface, and my drive(s) is/are probably SATA-2 drive interface.
I am sorry to waste the attention! This is probably why the reseller told me at the time (2007) that the onboard SATA was not recommended with this mainboard, but I had forgotten.
Anyway, I will find multi-port SATA PCI card and continue.
If this is not the common SATA-2 problem, then maybe I can get help?

Time Machine error message "Unable to complete backup....."

I just purchased Time Capsule and attempted to do my initial backup. I had to stop during the middle of the process. When I returned to resume the backup I get the following error message: "Unable to create backup. An error occurred creating the backup directory." Has anyone else gotten this error message? If so, any suggestions on how to fix this. I tried doing everything that Setup Guide suggested with no success.
After reading some of the posts here, I've made sure that my Time Capsule name is short and without special characters but nothing has worked. Any help would be appreciated.

My initial backup (350GB on WiFi N 5Ghz wide-channel) seemed like it would take 3 days (which is fine), but after 1 day, I too got that error. I started the backup again and it went for an hour, then the same error. Started again, went for 5 minutes, same error. Now I can't even start it again--I've tried many times and the error is now instantaneous.
The first time the error happened, the backup seemed to pick up where it left off. After that, though, all progress each time was lost.
The network itself has never gone down, and the light has stayed green. And the 2Wire DSL router it's attached to seems to be fine as well.
I'm wiping the drive (with the zero option in the hopes of catching and physical defects early) and will try again tomorrow.
All software and firmware is up-to-date: I made sure before turning on the Time Capsule.
Ethernet is not really an option--I'd have to run a long cord though a high-traffic area, and accidents would happen.

every thing is fine. but first time (page loading) camCombo(video combo) component x,y positions is ok, but micCombo(mic) x,y positions going to 0, 0.
after i refresh the page then going to correct position.
What is the wrong...?

I recently built a new windows PC for the first time. My (new) wife and I both have itunes accounts, which we would like to use under different windows accounts on same PC. However, when I try to download my wife's songs it gives me an error.

I am recently married to a wonderful woman and just built a windows PC for the first time. The idea was that we would (sorta) both be able to get a new computer out of it as we would each have a different account under windows. One of the first tasks was to migrate over our iTunes libraries. I did mine with no problem, but now that I'm try to do hers, I'm getting an error message saying "if you download past purchases with your Apple ID, you cannot auto-download or download purchases with a different Apple ID for 90 days."
What's the best solution for this? I want my wife to be able to use the new computer under her windows account just like it's her new computer, to the extent possible. I don't want our two iTunes accounts to be fighting each other and causing problems because they are on the same physical machine. What to do? Surely this can't be the first time this has happened - where two people each want to have their own iTunes account on the same computer.
This is the latest version of iTunes (12.0.1.26) running on Windows 8.1.

I am a little worried. If you are an existing subscriber why would Adobe need you to download... I wonder if the message is a fake.

After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error with the Podcasts app. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

I discovered the solution. The external drive I was saving it to was formatted as FAT32. In that format, the largest files can only be 4GB, which explains why it kept stopping at 4GB. I backed up all the files then reformatted it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled), this is possible since I am on an iMac.
