Five years ago our family purchased at Costco this Bravia TV (KDL46EX621) and a Blue Ray player. While we had less expensive options, we decided to go with Sony because of the quality it represents. We are light TV users, don't even have cable tv. The TV has remained in the same spot since we have had it. Two years after the purchase, we started having trouble turning on the tv. So we figured out that we could turn it on by unplugging the unit and plugging back on. It was a hassle and disappointing to have to do that with such a reputable brand tv. About three months ago the unplugging and plugging routine did not work so we took it to a repair shop. I just heard back from the repair shop that they cannot fix the tv because the replacement part is not available. The first part that they tried was defective. I've wonder if this is a factory defect. The Repair shop will refund the $285 that I had paid for the repair. Not being able to fix my $1000 tv adds insult to injury. Especially when I call Sony's technical support and their recommendation is that I purchase another tv!!! Wow! That is poor customer service. I can tell you, if I have to purchase a new tv, unless you all can help me with this, it will NOT be a Sony. I'm not one to complain and write negative consumer reports, but in this case I really think it may merrit one. Anyway, today I will take my tv to a Sony authorized repair shop in San Antonio (Consumer Electronics). How can you make up for all the hassle? Even though I realize the unit is no longer under warranty I would appreciate if Sony would follow this case to make sure the tv can get fixed. It would be even nicer if you could cover the repair costs or simply replace my unit to a good working one.

I have been unable to download adobe acrobat pro, which I purchased on a month to month basis almost exactly 1 year ago, since I purchased it. I just received a renewal email and it had a link to download the program and for the first time when I clicked on the link it actually sent me to a page that had the icon to download now. I clicked on that, but when I went to open the file and start downloading after about 3 minutes into downloading it says an error had occurred. Can anyone help me?

I am a little worried. If you are an existing subscriber why would Adobe need you to download... I wonder if the message is a fake.
I'm not clear, if you've had it for a year, whether you need to download, or you are just following the email?
This page with the icon to download now. Was it a page on adobe.com ?

  • Is iTunes "Sound Check" better than five years ago?

I got into iTunes (briefly) about five years ago.  I got all excited about mixed playlists and what-all ... but I burned out quickly because the Sound Check feature that would regulate the volumes from different CDs was mostly worthless.  Most songs averaged out, but that one track in ten would still sneak in there, too loud or too soft, and ruin the listening vibe in the house.
I ditched iTunes and went back to my CD player.
Now I'd like to get back into iTunes again and I'm wondering if Sound Check ever had any significant improvements in the last five years?  Did Apple finally perfect it?
Do we finally have mix playlists that play consistently, like one properly re-mastered compilation CD?  Or are occasional tracks still showing up too loud or too soft?

Thanks for the replies, Wolf and Sanjampet.
Yep, both of you are spot on correct about some of the dynamics that affect Sound Check.  The only thing I know is that, five years ago, I didn't like it.  I also remember not really being able to make manual adjustments work for me because I have music playing constantly and jumping up and running over to the Mac while an offending song is on my mind got mighty inconvenient.  That's why I stuck with my CD player. ...
I think you answered my question for me.  No, Sound Check is no different than it was five years ago.
Not quite what I said.  I certainly expect it has improved over 5 years, I can only tell you it will never be perfect.  And that is relevant because of your expectations.
The fact is, CD players do not have SoundCheck at all.  But when your CD mismatches song volumes, that does not "offend your ears".  And yet, oddly, iTunes does.  Listening sequentially to a CD you already know, you are accustomed to those particular mismatches, so they "sound right" to you.  What I'm speaking of here is cognitive bias, which is human and normal, and the thing to do is simply be aware it's there.
I too have tried playlists and was not impressed.  I remember when the level adjustment (in Song Properties) came out and thought "about time".  And I've never spent the time to actually try playlists again.  But I did not abandon iTunes entirely simply because one of its features "is not for me", i.e. sucked.  Digital playback is still the Best Jukebox Ever, with instant and searchable access to my music.  CDs are in every way inferior.*
It sounds like you jumped into digital playback with both feet, found some of its features were not ready for prime time, and jumped back out.  I would suggest easing back in with one foot, remembering that setup is a one-time task and it's pure profit from there.
    * purposefully ignoring the question of musical fidelity, some believe compression is bad, others believe digital is bad.  Not this thread.

  • I purchased my photoshop cs6 extended about 2 years ago when I was enrolled in college.  I graduated and I'm about to enroll to get my BA.  My question is, if I want to change the computer where my photoshop is located or if I want to use it on my laptop

I purchased my photoshop cs6 extended about 2 years ago when I was enrolled in college.  I graduated and I'm about to enroll to get my BA.  My question is, if I want to change the computer where my photoshop is located or if I want to use it on my laptop and my desktop, do i have to wait until I enroll again or do I have to purchase the product again in order to put it on another computer?

Well that does change the story. If you purchased a PC version of CS6, the license is PC only. It can only be installed on a second PC for your own use.
If you buy a Mac, you would either buy another $350 copy of Photoshop Mac, or agree to a swap, that is exchange the PC license for a Mac license, giving up all rights to the PC license.
If you have the disposable income for it, get a $350 Photoshop Extended Mac license as well.

  • HT4528 I have two iTunes account.  Is there a way of merging the two accounts.  The original account was created several years ago prior to purchase of an iphone. How and where do I go to check my credit card information?

I created an iTunes ago several years ago under this email: At this time I did not own an Apple product. All songs purchased and downloaded were in my lap top.
When I purchased my first iPhone...another iTunes account was created under the iPhone ID:
There is NO ONE that can help or assist me. IF instructed properly and correctly...I can maneuver thru my systems.  I would like to combine the two accounts. Is this possible?  There is NO logical reason to have 2 accounts out there...
I am upgrading to the iPhone 5s on the 20th of this month...Can someone please help me move all information?
Also, I need to know how to check/review the credit card information in my iTunes account in my current iPhone 5. Not able to make purchases....AND there is cash in my account.
Not difficult questions...just need someone to take the time to help me.
    Thank you.

You have to sign in and download each iTunes account individually.

  • My last computer died, but we've been able to transfer my files onto an external hard drive to put onto my new computer.I have now got exclamation marks next to 100 songs which I downloaded from Frostwire years ago. How can I fix this?

After my brother transferred all my files from my old computer to an external hard drive, he then put them onto my new computer. It appears that 100 songs which I downloaded from Frostwire years ago have the exclamation mark next to them. I cannot find the files on my new computer, and cannot remember where they were saved to on my old computer as it was over 3 years ago. I have also tried to consolidate the files as I've found people suggested, but that is not working. I have also read that you should tell itunes that you are moving the music, but my old laptop cannot be read when it is on. Is there any other way tofix this issue? I don't want to have to buy over 100 songs which I already have.

  • I need to re-download Acrobat 8 standard which I bought from Adobe some years ago, but have been told that this is impossible because the link no longer exists. Can this be true?

How can I redownload Adobe 8 standard - bought some years ago?

Yes, it can be true.  There is a limit to how far back some versions are available and Acrobat Standard versions especially so.  Every once in a while I will say a version is not available and someone will pop up and say otherwise.  I can only identify the resources where you can search to see if you can find it.  The first link is likely where you have been already...

You can't restore an iPhone 3G from an iPhone 4 backup. Until you get a replacement you can access your iCloud data at iCloud.com on a computer.

  • HT4399 I installed my superdrive on my macbook air 2 years ago. I haven't used it in a while and now the computer won't recognize it. Suggestions?

macbook air won't recognize superdrive installed 2 years ago

    "Installed your superdrive"??
I assume you are talking about the Apple Superdrive that holds CDs.
There is no installation to do!  Simply plug the Superdrive into a USB port on your MacBook Air, and then insert a CD into the drive.

What streaming features does your HDTV support?  We can't answer this without such information.

    Hello marksman23,
If the audiobook was purchased from the iTunes Store, I'd suggest checking the 'Purchased' category in the iTunes Store to see if it can be redownloaded. The following article provides further instructions for both iTunes on a computer and for iPhones/iPads/iPods, as well.

  • Our family has multiple products from IPods, IPads, IMac, and Apple TV. However, we made a mistake when registering them so that we seem to have at least two different ITunes accounts. How do I combine them or reset the accounts to make them one?

Over the years we have purchased multiple products from IPods, IPads, to IMacs. Unfortunately, along the way, we accidentally created more than one ITunes accounts so that we can only access some songs etc on certain devices and not on others. How do we reset our devices to create one account or transfer our music to one account?

You don't. You cannot combine iTunes accounts at this time. Pick the one that you want to use and stick to that one account for all the purchases.

Hi had old ipod with old large library on have lost my old itunes account so opened a new one but i cannot get my library onto my new comp help!! pl

The music you purchased with the old iTunes account is tied to that account.  You need to obtain the ID and password for that account.  The following provides instructions.
Frequently Asked Questions About Apple ID
Once you get the accountinoformation you can transfer the the iTunes purchased stuff to the new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
If you are the USA and have the latest iTunes you shuld be able to redownload them with these instructions.  Again, you need the ID information.
