Fix 1st column in a Datagrid while scrolling horizontally

I have a data grid with too many columns, and it scrolls horizontally. I want to keep the 1st column fixed (without scrolling out of the visible area) when scrolling horizontally. is this possible to do ?

I have created the report and i have freezed the row and column of the report while scrolling [To Freeze made the changes in tabulex property of the table "Keep Header visible while scrolling"]
meade the changes in the property [Advaned Mode]
Fixed Data= true
Keep Together=true
Keep with group =After
Report on new page=true
When ever i will scroll down my report my all column headder will remains same. after that if i scroll to right my first freeded column headder will not display [group column or freezed row headder].
COuld you please suggest me for the same issue.

Based on my research, freezing row and column headers are different in table and matrix.
In a table, if we want to freeze column header, we should make the changes in the first Static row group in Row Groups pane with Advanced Mode as you said. If we want to freeze row header, the table should have a group ahead, then we can enable “Repeat header
rows on each page” and “Keep header visible while scrolling” options in Row Headers in Tablix Properties dialog box.
In a matrix, if we want to freeze column header, we can enable “Repeat header columns on each page” and “Keep header visible while scrolling” options in Column Headers in Tablix Properties dialog box. If we want to freeze row header, we can enable “Repeat
header rows on each page” and “Keep header visible while scrolling” options in Row Headers in Tablix Properties dialog box.

SSRS 2008 R2 - Column Headers of a tablix visible while scrolling - Then the column headers not visible on 2nd page onwards for PDF EXPORT. it's vice versa. Hence it is possible to provide both at same time ?

I am using SSRS 2008 R2.
I have two TABLIX in a report. One is TABLIX with row/clumn grouping. 2nd one is flat view.
Here each tablix is dispaly it's data on single page for each.
My Requirement on First TABLIX is:
1. I have to make column headers visible on scrolling down
2. Export to PDF - column headers must be visible on all the pdf pages for same tablix data.
But ... either one is achieved at my end.
so ... any suggestions please to achieve both at same time.

According to your description, the first tablix is matrix to use display data.
In SSRS, if we want to fix matrix header visible while scrolling and repeat header columns on each page, we can select the corresponding option to enable this function. Please refer to the steps below:
1. Right click tablix, and select Tablix Properties.
2. Select “Keep header visible while scrolling” and “Repeat header rows on each page” to enable these function.
If we are use table to display data, please refer to the article about Repeat Header / Keep Header Visible in Tables.

Fixed headers while scrolling works fine in bids but not when deployed to reportserver

Hi, I am using SQL Server 2008 R2 & deploying a report to reportserver with fixed headers while scrolling, this works fine in bids but not when deployed to reportserver. We are IE 9.

Since you have identified the 2 xml files are identical, according to my knowledge, there maybe a compatibility issue with IE 9 and SSRS 2008 R2, so I suggest that you could run the report in compatibility mode. Please make sure you have turned on Compatibility
View in Internet Explorer 9 by following steps:
When Internet Explorer recognizes that a webpage is not compatible, you will see the Compatibility View button on the Address bar. Try clicking it.
When Compatibility View is turned on, the button changes from an outline to a solid color when you view the page.

Horizontal scrolling in a JTable with fixed-size columns

I have come to a roadblock concerning the following issue. Perhaps someone can share their ideas...
I have a JTable with three fixed-size columns. I implemented a JScrollPane with vertical and horizontal scrolling. However, the text inserted into the last column is too long to fit in the specified column width. I would like to be able to scroll the table so that I can view all of the text in the last column. Right now, the text cuts off and ends with three dots (...). Is there a way in which a horizontal scroll bar can be implemented to view all the text in the last column?

I notice in using the checkbook register template, you reach a certain point and the rows slide under the top row or two. I there a way to make that happen with the columns. Datagrid display scrolling bug?

Hello,
I'm developing an AIR application using the 4.1 SDK and have come across inconsistent display behavior from a datagrid when scrolling.
My datagrid has three fixed columns created in MXML with the DataGridColumn tag. When the datagrid fires a creationComplete event, I then dynamically add additional columns to it, setting the column item renderer to an MXML component. This is all rather straightforward and when I start the application, everything looks just fine. However, once I scroll the datagrid, either vertically or horizontally, the values from the dynamically created columns change or empty cells are displayed in their place. They change every time I scroll. The fixed columns don't exhibit this behavior.
Has anyone encountered this issue? Is this a Flex bug and is there a workaround?

itemRenders in DataGrid and other list based controls are recycled, so this often causes problems for scrolling "depending on what you are doing".

How to fix the column header

Try to display something like this:<br><br>

So I use:

The rule is: allow it to display ONLY two rows in the window. When more rows are added, a vertical scroll bar will be enabled. --And, yes, it works just as expected.
The problem is that when more rows are added, when I scroll the bar downward, of course the rows will move up. When this happens, the Column Headers (HA and HB) will disappear. Obviously I need to fix the Column Headers.
So question is: How can I fix the headers while still be able to scroll the data rows up and down?

Dear Vam,
you can easily do that with css, search the source code of the executed web template for the td tag which is around your coloumn header, remember the style sheet class name it is ´displayed as class= in the td tag.
Now you can add this code the beginning of your web template:
</style>
This will only work in Web.

Sorry for misunderstanding you question in my former reply.
In a table, if we want to freeze column header, we should make the changes in the first Static row group in Row Groups pane with Advanced Mode. For more details, please see:
In the Grouping pane, click the arrow that appears to the right of the Column Groups label, and click Advanced Mode to display all groups. You have done this according to the picture you posted.
In the Row Groups sections, click the first Static group, and then in the Properties window, set the RepeatOnNewPage property to True.

How to read the whole name of a music title while scrolling down a list of titles? The old software-app had the function to click for a longer time on a titles beginning letters until a black box revealed the entire name. I miss this function especially for my classical music, because lots of pieces start with similar words. E.g.:
"Beethoven: Variations On "Ein Mädchen Oder Weibchen", Op. 66 - Var. 1"
"Beethoven: Variations On "Ein Mädchen Oder Weibchen", Op. 66 - Var. 2"
Scrolling in a list of title, I can't distinguish the titles, because just the first words are shown followed by: "...".
That's horrible!

Or you could include a width to your body style:

It might work or not depending on your other color scheme.

Locking middle or last column in a datagrid

Does anyone know how to lock say the middle or last column in
a datagrid. What i really need is for the first and fifth column to
be locked in a datagrid or Advanced datagrid. Is this possible or
do i need to put two datagrids next to each other and try to sync
the vertical scroll??

Can't you just set an explicit width for the first two columns then?, e.g.:

Why the 1 iteration for loops?
Why the two Index Arrays? It is just trying to fix the problem created by the For Loops on the original 1-D arrays.
Both of those things are creating 2-D arrays that are complicating things and can be eliminated.
You can take your 2 1-D arrays, use Build Array and right click to set "Concatenate Inputs".
If you do have a 2-D array, you can use Reshape Array to make it a 1 column by N row 2-D array.
