[Fixed] Lamp, can't get php to work.

I followed most of this guide http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LAMP . I made a test.php file, with echo 'whatever';. When I try to visit it, it's just blank. If I go to an .html document, it works. My access log says a 500 error (Internal Server Error) occurs. Here's my http.conf http://pastebin.com/m42f20e4b

If I try to use php on the commandline, it works like expected.
Anyone know how to, if anything, debug this?

regarding enabling PHP on Tiger, but can't get started.
The problem seems to be with httpd.conf
I configured it the way I'm supposed to, I think and if I run the Terminal command sudo apachectl configtest it tells me the server is configured ok.
If I run php -version, it tells me I have PHP 4.4.1 installed.
But when I try to test the server by going to
http://localhost/~yourusername/timetest.php Safari tells me it can't connect.
If I restore the httpd.conf file from default, and make sure personal web sharing is turned on, the basic html service works, but of course PHP doesn't.
Any ideas?

I just copied and pasted the commands you sent me into Terminal and it seemed to work, but I have almost no experience with Terminal.
Then I uncommented the lines in the httpd.conf file to turn PHP on and restarted personal web sharing. Unfortunately when I dial http://localhost/~unsername/ I am again getting the message that Safari can't connect to the server.
When I use the tail /var/log/httpd/error_log command I get told a file called 'favicon.ico' doesn't exist.
I fooled around with the server a few times in the past and threw out the Apache start page. I might have trashed something else, I guess.
Here is output from the Terminal window (There are three users on this Mac: moi, client and stu).

[SOLVED] I can't get virtual hosts working. What's wrong?

What I've decided to do is try to set up each domain name in the user folder to whom it belongs (for example: /home/username/somedomain.com/htdocs). I can't get it to work though. I keep getting an error saying that there's no index file (although there is) or that the location isn't readable (although it is). I'm trying to make it so that if the domain name matches with a virtual host section in httpd-vhosts.conf that a specific DocumentRoot will be loaded for that domain, etc. But, if the domain name points to my server but doesn't match, then I want the default location to work. I can't seem to make this work.

So, for example, I want it to be so that if I visit http://45.117.5.40 that it'll show the stuff ftom /srv/http/default/htdocs but if the domain name matches somedomain.com then I want the server to show the content from /home/normaluser/somedomain.com/htdocs.
What currently happens is that if I visit http://45.117.5.40 or somedomain.com, they both show the same content from /srv/http/default/htdocs.
If I comment out the first VirtualHost section, then everything stops working and I see the default "Access forbidden!" message.
What am I doing wrong?

I fixed it. In case any newbs come across this, I had to add a new <Directory> section for the DocumentRoot of the virtual host. Simply adding the VirtualHost entry in the vhosts file isn't enough.
For example, for the "somedomain.com" vhost in the example above to work, I added this to http.conf:
#This must match with the same location as DocumentRoot in httpd-vhost.conf.
<Directory "/home/normaluser/somedomain.com/htdocs">
#Put whatever directives you want in here
Options Indexes FollowSymLinks

Just thought I'd add my solution, I decided to go with WebDAV and I think it actually works better than the iTunes way, the steps are pretty much the same but avoiding the iTunes interface just makes things easier and faster.
I followed this guide but it does have a small mistake in the httpd-dav.conf file, on line 2, where it's WebServer/WebDAV">, it should be <Directory "/Library/WebServer/WebDAV">.
The tricky part is setting permissions which if wrong will give you errors when connecting with the iPad, I opted to set all to Read&Write since my home network has a hardware firewall. Another convenience was to add an alias to the webdav share on the Desktop.
I'm still expecting the call from Apple but even if they fix the iTunes I'm sticking with WebDAV, atleast until I see what's new with iOS5 and iCloud this fall which should bring true sync for documents (I'm hoping that they will offer encryption with my own keys, if not, then I'll probably keep using WebDAV).

Can't get audio to work on my Panasonic Plasma smart TV when I connect a Toslink optical mini to Toslink optical digital to my mid 2009 MacBook pro?

My MAc book pro 5.5 is mid 2009, Processor speed 2.26 GHZ MacOS X VERSION 10.68 Leopard. My Tv is a Panasonic Plasma smart TV TC-P50ST60. I ordered from Amazon a Toslink optical mini to Toslink optical digital cable meant for Macbook pro 2009 forward. I changed the settings on both TV and Mac but I still can't get audio to work on TV. I believe my Mac can't see the audio output from the TV. Any advice with step by step instructions on how to fix it? could it be they sent me defective cables? Thank You for your help.

When I spoke with Apple I made sure I told them that my Macbook Pro was Mid 2009 and he ensured me again that those to cords will work. I realize that with the newer models it does put through both sound and audio but because of my model I don't think it does obviously because I have played with both Sound on my computer and Sound on the TV and nothing works. Sometime Apple can be good but man some people lol he even told me he verified my computer model on the computer and that's what came up.
So new question would be what kind of cable would I be looking for to get audio? Anyone before I call back to Apple and see what they say hahah

I really don't want a ringtone on my iphone but I tried to use the feature and simply can't get it to work. When I click on the bell in my library (already have purchased songs) I get asked for my password. I enter my password and then it asks again and again and again....
Now I can buy songs via itunes without this problem. I saw some people with the same issues however I didn't see any responses. Anyone come up w/ anything?

Well, I found another thread that said to reset your warnings in your account, but don't do that. I was able to sign in before, but now I get the same thing you are getting, sign in over and over. itunes 7.6 is obviously very buggy and needs a fix.

Can't get VPN to work on RV220W

I am a home office user who bought a RV220W router for the speed advertised on smallnetbuilder. I am trying to set up the VPN but can't get it to work with the Quick VPN client. I am not sure this will help but make sure the following is set correctly:
Currently VPN is somewhat broken on all versions of firmware of the RV220W including beta where VPN will ONLY negotiate on 443. If you are port forwarding 443 to a server or something else it will fail. You must allow the VPN to authenticate on 443. The router SHOULD be able to connect on 60443 as indicated on the QUICKVPN software however it doesn't this has been confirmed by a CISCO engineeer I have been speaking with regarding my VPN woes. Currently there is NO ETA on this fix.
But since you didn't mention if your 443 ports were being routed elsewhere I figured i would lay out that information here incase you where. Also I strongly recommend contacting Cisco Support for the beta firmware it makes the RV220W much better.
Also the reason for the update to the beta firmware it resolves the hair pinning problem which could also lead to VPN issues.

iDVD does work with Yosemite although, as Kappy pointed out unsupported for 2 years, so try this basic troubleshooting fix:
1 - delete the IDVD preference file, com.apple.iDVD.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents of IDVD'S cache folder: User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iDVD.
3 - launch IDVD and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If you're running Mavericks or Yosemite go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
If iDVD crashes again post the first 50 lines of the crash report. Don't post a screenshot but copy and paste the actual text.
To get a movie from iMovie to iDVD it should be exported out of iMovie as 480p and added manually to iDVD.

Can't get sound to work [SOLVED]

Hi, I'm new to arch/linux in general. Built a computer, and can't get sound to work. I ran Ubuntu for a short period of time, and sound worked there, so I'm assuming there's no hardware issue here.
I'm a little bit stuck as to what I should be doing. Help?
