FLash 9 - How to mute flv on load?
I'm having a *really* hard time trying to set up a small flv
player so that the sound (and mute button) are off by default when
the player loads the movie. The only control I want available with
the player is the mute button so that a user can enable the sound
by pressing it (which is opposite from the default handling of the
MuteButton component). How can I accomplish this with Flash 9, AS3
(or AS2 or whatever will work). I'm a beginner with Flash so keep
that in mind with your reply.
Also, I've tried the volume=0 solution variations - and while
that guarantees the sound won't play - it does not at all affect
the way the mute button works.

I am also facing a similar problem wherein the SWF file takes time to load the refreshed data in Infoview i.e. after exporting the xlf file to Business Objects platform. Currently I am using Xcelcius Engage/Enterprise 2008 SP3 Windows (file name: 51038212.ZIP) version 5.3.0.0 build number 12,3,0,670. Also the SWF file is approximately 2MB in size and it uses 42 live office connections.
Please suggest solution as to how to decrease the time it takes to refresh the live office connections. -

Hi,
Can anybody giude me how to Edit .flv movie file in Flash
Professional 8 in MAC.
I can open the .flv file. I can see each frame.
Now when i select some frames from the starting movie &
cut(delete) those frames, I should get the remaining movie.
But i can still see the starting movie frames in my .flv
file.
I don't know how to select particular frames & cut those
frames.
Please reply if you know the answer.

Not sure what you are saying; are these local or online files?
Adobe does not longer provide Adobe Media Player to play local files; use a 3rd-party player like VLC Media Player. -

Hello, I am currently exporting .flv files using Adobe Flash Encoder. Once these flv files are exported, how can I view the clips? I need to view them for review, and I've tried Downloading flash player 9, but apparently that's just a plug-in for web browser.... help!
VLC will play back .flv files.
Also, you can download Perian which installs as a QuickTime plug-in and should let you open your .flv's right inside of a QT player.

I'm having exactly the same problem, so I downloaded your preloader.fla file, but unsure where to proceed with it now. The preloader which I normally use is an extension manager file which I access by dragging onto the stage and then via the components inspector I can add the swf file which needs to be pre-loaded. Unfortunately it is an asc2 file so from the above I gather it will not work with the swf file created and exported from InDesign.
Without a preloader, it works fine (as can be seen from the low resolution test file below)

The above links to a lower resolution version for testing purposes only - but I need a preloader as there is a distinct time lag before the swf file is loaded if I use the full version with a higher resolution image setting. If I use my normal preloader, it loads correctly, but the swf just simply runs through at high speed without stopping as can be seen in the link below.

Need = to convert the .flv file to a format that I can edit in Final Cut Pro 10.0.6
End Result Desired = to posted editted version in format that will play on YouTube

When I download the .flv file, the audio and video play fine in Adoble Flash Player 1.8. I have tried just ablout every Mac .flv converter I can find and all convert the .flv video to other formats, but the Audio is never included. I cannot figure out why the audio does not come over.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciatedI've been reading so many different forums on how to convert FLV to MOV. Finally, I summarized three solutions:
First one: HandBrake . This tool is a free and open-source multi-threaded transcoding app.
Cons:
1. HandBrake is too professional to handle for most people;
2. It doesn't support MOV as output format.
Second one: there are many third party software which supports converting FLV to MOV.I highly recommend iDealshare VideoGo which can batch convert FLV to MOV much easier, faster on Mac or Windows Cons:
1. Most of them are not free.
Third one: Online-Converter . This kind of converter does a great job on file conversion.
Cons:
1. Like most online converters, the free version of this tool only allows you to convert videos smaller than 100MB. It's too small for video conversion;
2.Your MKV video should be upload to the internet to be converted. This means the risk of pravite information leak is possible. -

Flv's and swf's are not the same, and the controls you have in flv's are inserted as part of a control skin which then controls the flv.
If you have the flash pro program you could create the controls within this, but you would require the fla file which created your swf.

How to use the property-loader?

i´m using TS 3.5 and LV 8.0. Now i also want to use the built-in property-loader from Teststand.
Is there somewhere a documentation for "beginners" how to use this property-loader? At the end i want to read parameters from an ascii-file which updates my input-parameters of the steps in the current-sequence.
I know how to read and change parameters from teststand in labview via active-x, but i have no idea how to use this propertyloader-thing.
Is there an easy help file somewhere in the net ( I havent found one yet)?

1.) setting the properties of a "Messagebox". For example the property "Button1Label". Why is this not working?
2.) The second thing what is not clear: Do i need for each sequence an own property-loader? I tested it with a sequence with one subsequence. Does the subsequence needs its own property-loader?
Currently the import-csv-file looks like this:

When Teststep_1 and Teststep_2 are both in mainsequence then it works. When i copy Teststep_2 in a subsequence then i get an error (-18).

If I purchase Final Cut Pro x how many computers can I load it on? Can I put it on my desk top and lap top?
In regards to FCP X on more than one computer --- currently with the older versions of FCP, if I try to launch FCP on a 2nd computer (that I own) it prompts me that I cannot launch the application on more than one computer at the same time. Does this prompt appear in FCP X as well if two computers try to use FCP X at the same time?

How many photos can you load into Organizer and Editor
How many photos can you load into Organizer and Editor at one time. I receive the error message, "Unable to Import Files", which says "You exceeded number of files that can be selecteed and imported at once...." What is the number? Secondly is there a way around this for either the Organizer or Editor to work on thousands of photos at the same time?
ThanksI have never heard of this particular limit before.
Please understand, this appears to be the limit you can import into the Organizer at one time -- you can have as many photos as you want in the Organizer; but apparently you have to import in batches rather than all at once.
I don't think it applies to the editor; and I can't imagine wanting to have more then a few files in the editor at any one time ... even if you could open 2000 photos in the editor at once, what sense would that make?
