Flash app disconnects from FMS after an hour

I have developed a Flash chat for a client using FMS2. The
application is used by goups of 5-15 people, who will use it for up
to 2 or 3 hours in one session, sometimes even longer.
Many of our users are complaining that they consistently get
disconnected after about an hour. They can usually log back in
immediately. Are there any known issues with connections being
lost?
A second problem I'm facing is that periodically my entire
interface(AS2, SWF7) stops interacting properly. No user
input(click actions, text input) is received, and several animation
scripts stop updating. However, the application is still connected
and new messages are received. Again, users report this behavior
consistently after an hour. I know that is an extremely ambiguous
problem, but I've been going crazy trying to isolate the problem,
if anyone has even a guess, I'm all ears.
A few facts about the chat:
- It uses a persistent RSO to store chat history
- Chat messages are sent from client to server, and processed
by server and put in the chat RSO
- User listing and info is in an RSO, which is created by
ther server and modified by the clients. It is modified frequently
by all clients when they type, setting a "isTyping" flag to be
rendered by their name on each clients user list window
- I'm using a complex custom message renderer, which includes
emoticon support and dynamic attach/removal of message clips when
scrolled(to prevent application slow down as the chat history gets
long).
- Our users I believe are are using somewhat older computer
equipment, and are fairly minimal in computer literacy/experience.
Any help would appreciated.

I solved my interface problem. Long story short I
accidentally had an endless loop in teh suers RSO that was causing
focus to be constantly stolen and placed on a certain textfield.
However, I'd still be interested to know if there are any
problems with connections dying after an hour, or any amount of
time.

  • PC disconnects from VPN after several hours, can't reconnect until PC reboot.

    Hi,
I started using a private VPN for video gaming in general since last month, but I've started running into a problem I cannot fix... my PC tends to disconnect from the VPN after a while (6~12 hours of use?) and I can't reconnect to any VPNs until I reboot my
    PC.
However.. my normal internet connection seems to work fine.
When I try to reconnect to the VPN after I get dropped, I'm welcomed by this error:
    http://puu.sh/bicqT/0a6f1f8537.png
I'm on Windows 7 64bit and I use the default windows VPN client... idk what's it called, it's what you setup in the network and sharing center.
    I've tried the following things:
    *restart network adapter
*diagnose the issue with windows 7 network diagnostics
    */flush DNS cache
    */release and /renew lease
    *reset internet connection
*using a neighbor's internet connection and I'm still unable to connect to any VPN until PC reboot.

Anyway, it's a problem on my end because I share the VPN with 2 other friends and they don't experience this problem... >_<
If there's any information missing, please tell me and I'll provide.
    Thank you for any help!

    Hi,
could you tell me do you run more than one VPN connection on your PC?
Did you try to delete and re-configure the VPN?
What type of security software are you using? Any kind of software which might block the traffic or close the port in case it thinks that something fishy is going on?
Could you determine which manufacturer is your Wireless card, visit their website and download the latest drivers directly from their site. Or if you are using laptop, visit manufacturers website and download wireless drivers.
You can try to update the drivers manually.
What about that 'Enable logging' thingy? Can you enable it and when the next time disconnection happens, you might determine what is the exact issue with the VPN.

My new Mac Air continues to disconnect from WiFi after going to sleep.  When waking it up I have to manually re-connect.  How do I keep it connected?

I had this problem too and solved it by doing a clean install. After that it was gone.
This is a drastic method since it takes quite some time to reinstall lion and all your software.
Thoughts I had why it started working after a clean install are the following:
It looked like the airport wasn't able to reconnect fast enough before the connection timed out. So what could have prevented my mac from being able to connect fast enough?
Apps that consume processor cycles. I love what I would call 'System Enhancers', little apps that enhance my workflow (Moom, Alfred, Dropbox, Default Folder etc). I'm not saying that these are the problem, they might be programmed processor friendly, but check if you have apps that consume processor cylcles. It might prevent airport from being able to reconnect quickly enough before it times out.
Mobile Config profiles. Another thought I had was that I had a mobile config 802.1X profile installed for the company were I worked. It used TTLS to connect to the corporate network. This profile might have gotten in the way.
    And a sidenote...
Routers with hardware acceleration might also be a problem. My router is a Wireless Gigabit Router 300N WL-351 and has hardware acceleration. As soon as I activate that my wifi connection keeps dropping. It is as if a Macbook Air can't handle that amount of optimisation.
That's it, hope it helps those who are still having the problem.
    Best, Jan

    Disable auto-lock
    Connect to wifi network
Open an app that continuously does network activityYou might for example run a shoutcast webradio streaming app and start listening to some music
Leave the iPad running and turned on
After approx 30 minutes wifi drops and your music app stops the stream
This happens to me every time, after approximately 30 minutes, with either the iPad on USB charge or disconnected from charge.
Used to run apps connected to wifi regularly for hours and never had this problem before the upgrade to 5.1

  • FMLE disconnect from FMS + Users disconnect on console

    Hello,
I'm looking for solution to inconsistent problem that happen when I'm streaming in live :
    a. FMLE is disconnect for couple seconds (10 -30), stop encoding and then renew the connection and the encoding
    b. In the same time, I can see users (streams) are disconnecting/ disappear from the console.
As said it can happen once in a session, but this disconnect most of the users and they have to refresh their browser
to get the live session again.
    Currently I'm using FMSS 3.5.4 r210, Linux redhat 5.2,  6 Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU 16GB.
I found a post named "FMS disconnect from FME" (Jun 7, 2010 3:36 PM by BJWP Ltd)
but it's not clear to me if it's a known problem and how it can be solved.
    Thanks,

Do you see any errors logged in FMS logs - check master , core & edge logs and let me know about it.

  • After quit app, disconnect from server

I am running into problems launching an application (Type to Learn 3 on OS 10.4.11) that must connect to server-based data folder (Windows Server 2000) in a computer lab environment. Presently, I must select Go>Connect to Server>afp://xx.xx.xx.xxx>Connect, then launch the app. After the student quits the app, the shared data drive remains mounted. I would like for the mounted drive to automatically eject following quit app.
I have been able to create an Automator script that will Connect to the server and launch the app, but I am unable to figure out how to eject the shared drive upon quit app.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I am not sure that using Automator is the best option. Any other ideas?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hopefully I can clarify.
After the user quits the application accessing the server-based drive, I want the drive to be unmounted automatically. I do not want students to have access to the student data located within the drive.
It is possible to hide the drive from appearing in the sidebar, but I would prefer that it is unmounted to ensure data security.
So, the entire process looks something like this:
    1. connect to server "drive"
    2. launch app "TTL3"
    3. student uses app
    4. student quits app
    5. "drive" unmounts
    Thanks again for your assistance.

  • WRT54G v6.0 Disconnects From Server After Ten Minutes

I posted this once before and somehow it got....deleted?
Anyway....here we go again. I purchased A WRT54G over the holidays. It has worked fine for me with the exception of a real estate data source (server) that I need to use for my business. I can log on and start doing my analysis just fine, but when when the ten minute mark hit....the router disconnects me. It's EXACTLY ten minutes...everytime. I've spent the better part of 20 hours on the phone with Liksys Tech Support and they have been very helpfull, but unable to help me fix this issue. They sent me a new router to replace the one I bought thinking that there was something wrong with that router. After installing the router they sent me....same problem. We opened ports, reduced the MTU to 1375, disabled security, ect... with no luck. Can anyone tell me what I need to do? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Actually try this...
Connect wired to your ISP provider cable/dsl modem  and release/renew dhcp lease...
IP address is then assigned based on MAC address of that computer
    IPCONFIG to check assigned address
Re-connect wireless router and in settings duplicate the mac address of the PC used above.
Release/renew dhcp on router and check status on router settings pages
assigned IP should be same or in relative range.
Why this may be occuring....     At least what leads to the above suggestion:
ISP providers in the mid-west region around me started assignment of Router based MAC addressing to monitored and limited bandwidth servers - IP assigned would renew into those servers as the MAC address from a router was a clear indication of mutiple PC use and bandwidth consumption.
Duplication of a desktop or wired network card on your PC into the router defused this by detection your MAC appears to be a single PC and the ISP assigns the address to standard server loads.
Try it see if this helps - keep in mind most of these hardware manufacturers use base hardware from common pools of sub-suppliers - I believe you will have just as much issue with a netgear unit.

  • External Presenter removed from meeting after 1 hour of presenting

Any time we have give presentation rights to an external customer who is coming in as a guest and using the web access to the meeting, and they are presenting for over 1 hour they are removed from the meeting while still actively presenting content.
They must then rejoin the meeting and start presenting again.
If the meeting organizer is presenting material to these same types of connection, they are not removed when they are just viewing what is being presented.
It is only when they are presenting for more than 1 hour, that the external presenter is removed.
It has got to be some sort of timer, just not sure where to look to find it.
    Any thoughts or suggestions?
    Thanks, Mike

  • FYI-Apps crash from Dock after Upgrade?  Have u ever done Archive/Restore?

I have upgraded two Macs today. My MacBook Pro upgrade was flawless (so far). My new iMac upgrade went through everything fine, then every MacOS app I tried to launch crashed. This included Safari, Mail, iCal, Address Book, etc. After a while of research, I noticed that I could launch them from finder, just not from the Dock. After further research, I saw all of the Mac apps on the doc were pointing to the "Previous Systems\Previous System 1\Applications" folder created when I did an Archive and Restore on that box. I corrected all of the links, and all appears to be working fine now. Just an FYI to try to save some folks some time. I guess this is probably a bug, but once I found the source, it seemed to be an easy fix.
I just hope there is nothing else related to this that I haven't seen yet...we'll see. If you have done the Archive and Restore previously, it may be a good idea to get rid of the "Previous Systems" folder in the root before you do the upgrade.
I'm interested in hearing if other have experienced the same thing.

No violation is taking place, (please don't jump to conclusions). One program that I use everyday for my work has been through 4 or 5 upgrades that was done through downloads, and now that program is no longer supported or being sold for the Mac. Getting an install CD from the company is impossible and even if I could install the last version that I do have an install CD for, getting it upgraded to the latest working version would be impossible.
Of course, the other apps that are not working will be able to all be installed again after contacting the different vendors and downloading the programs again. Still a big hassle....
And I did try to reinstall one of them while I was still running SL and the installer, which required rosetta, would also crash and I was unable to reinstall. So I believe that there is more to my problem than having used Migration Assistant at one time.

I'm so sorry for the trouble getting your prepaid device to activate! We definitely want to make sure you're connected and running at 100%. While we only have access to Post Paid on this site, I would like to make sure you can get in touch with our PrePaid team. Is there another line you can call from? To reach our Prepay Team from another line, please dial 888-294-6804. When prompted, enter your prepaid phone number. Then press 4 (for questions or to change something), then 5 (for Store Locations or Billing Questions), then 4 (for Customer Service Rep) and then enter your pass code for your account.  If you do not know the pass code enter in four zeros. Then the system will transfer you to a Prepaid representative.

  • Opening macbook pro from sleep after some hours, login screen is blurry with progress bar?

I just got my first 13'' MBP three days ago.  Both last night and the night before I closed the lid to put it to sleep overnight for about 7 hours whilst plugged into the AC as to not drain unnecessary power. In the morning when I opened the lid it was on the login page but the screen was blurry and there was a progress bar on the bottom of the screen. My sister has had a MBP for a few months but this has never happened to her. The problem only lasted about 30 seconds but is it normal? Am I maybe doing something wrong?

Did you quit out all of your applications prior to letting the MBP sleep over night?
If concerned, you can either call AppleCare or return the MBP.  You have 14 days from the date of purchase to return and/or exchange w/no questions asked.

Sometimes I want to keep an application running, like an Internet radio station. But no matter how I try to disable shutdown and sleep functions, my Mac still shuts all applications after about 1 hour, and on my screen I find the login box against the wallpaper of a supernova (or whatever it is).
Here are my settings in "System Preferences:"
In the "Energy Saver" area, I have "Put the computer to sleep when it is inactive for" — Never
"Put the display(s) to sleep when the computer is inactive for" — Never
"Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible" — Not checked
In the Desktop & Screen Save area, I have "Start screen saver" — Never
