FMLE disconnect from FMS + Users disconnect on console
Hello,
I'm looking for solution to inconsistent problem that happen when I'm streaming in live :
a. FMLE is disconnect for couple seconds (10 -30), stop encoding and then renew the connection and the encoding
b. In the same time, I can see users (streams) are disconnecting/ disappear from the console.
As said it can happen once in a session, but this disconnect most of the users and they have to refresh their browser
to get the live session again.
Currently I'm using FMSS 3.5.4 r210, Linux redhat 5.2, 6 Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU 16GB.
I found a post named "FMS disconnect from FME" (Jun 7, 2010 3:36 PM by BJWP Ltd)
but it's not clear to me if it's a known problem and how it can be solved.
Thanks,
Alon
Do you see any errors logged in FMS logs - check master , core & edge logs and let me know about it.

Using Reports from End User Console.
I want to show the reports tab and the sub tabs in the end user console.
I have copied the reports folder into the user folder and have modified the "End User Navigation" form , giving the URL of all the jsps.
By this I can see the reports tab in the End user console, but when I click the tab, it redirects to the Admin console login page, and after logging into Admin console login page only I can navigate the other report sub tabs.
Please let me know if there is any way to use the reports from End user console, without the secondary loging (into Admin console).Do you have to implement whole report TAB or do you want to run only one report.

Rajan GroverYou'll have to add the user as a SOA administrator too in the EM. EM -> soa-infra -> Application Roles ->
But maybe the right thing to do, would be to add the user to WLAdmin group in weblogic.

What is the "admin" user in EAS Console?
I am still relatively new to Planning and Essbase. I am trying to figure out the relevance of "admin" user in the Essbase Administration Console. My colleague and I have seen several instances of this admin user in EAS console but it doesn't appear to represent a "live" user. We have also seen references to "admin@native directory" in the Essbase and EssbaseODL logs. In the last couple of days, we were unable to run a script that automatically backs up a database because this admin user was performing a spreadsheet operation. We were able to successfully force the admin account off via the console but we know for a fact that no one else is logged in.
Below are excerpts from the Essbase log. Please see the text in red.
Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I have an iPhone 5s and a MacBook Pro. Ever since I updated my computer software to Yosemite, it linked my Apple ID with my phone number and I am not receiving messages from iMessage users on my phone, but rather to my computer. I don't like to use iMessage so I keep it off and would like to receive all messages as SMS texts. I have already tried changing my Apple ID password, logging off of my Apple ID in iMessage on my phone and turning it off, and changing settings on messages on my computer. Nothing is working. Either the messages continue to go to my computer or the messages trying to be sent say they cannot be sent.
After spending 30 + minutes waiting for technical support, the woman helping me (who did not give me her name) told me I should just turn on iMessage. After explaining that I don't like having iMessage on and asking why it worked for at least a year up until this point she said "things change and sometimes we don't know why things do what they do". She asked me about various other things on my phone such as bluetooth and told me to turn on and off airplane mode and the call disconnected. I have not been contacted since, even though she has my phone number.
I am hoping for some help and also hoping people don't get the type of service I received tonight.I think you can solve your problems by removing your AppleID email address from BOTH the Messages setting on your iPhone and the iMessages settings on your Mac.
On iPhone:
Settings > Messages > iMessage > Dissabled
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > touch the "(i)" < touch "Remove This Email"
On Mac:
Open "Messages" application
Click "Messages menu > Preferences
Click "Accounts"
Select your AppleID account
Under the "You can be reached for messages at" settings, uncheck your AppleID email address and your phone number
Then uncheck the "Enable this account" setting
And lastly, ask all of your friends with iPhones to delete all iMessage conversations (blue bubbles) in their entirety.
To test, send a friend a new text using their phone number (not their email address) and watch the color of the bubble. If it's green then you are using SMS. -
Galaxy s5 not receiving messages from iphone users
Ok so sorry about the long question but I just bought a galaxy s5 to replace my iphone 4s and im having trouble getting messages from iphone users. I tried turning off imessage, turned off find my iphone, resetting the device completely, and even created a new apple id but nothing has worked in the past 6 hours. The only thing I have left is to contact apple support but I really dont want to spend $20 to talk to someone if I dont have to... Any help at this point will be apprectiated. Thanks
At the risk of repeating some information, I'm leaving a full message here because I found many of the suggestions above to be vague and confusing. This is a step by step of the call that I just put in to Apple to fix this issue with Samsung S5 Galaxies not getting text messages from iPhones. This process should only be necessary if you no longer have possession of your iPhone; if you do, it seems from messages above you can go into your iPhone's settings and turn off iMessage yourself.
NOTE: According to Victoria, the Apple rep who was familiar with the problem and (supposedly, within the next half hour to 24 hours) fixed the problem, iPhone users who have updated to IOS 7.1.1 --not just 7.1, but the 7.1.1 specifically -- will not have this issue, as 7.1.1 fixed the issue causing this disconnect. However, any iPhone user operating under 7.1 or previous systems will not be able to send an S5 Galaxy user a text without an elaborate and individualized process to remove the former iPhone user's iMessage link. So, here's what I did:
1. Called Apple Support at 800-694-7466 (I could not find the section headings/descriptions mentioned by FoxFifth above on the website listed; the sections did not match anything on the page linked to that supplied url)
2. Followed the prompts, which involved giving my phone number (the one now linked to my Galaxy S5 but formerly to my iPhone 4s) and verbally requesting a representative at the appropriate time after the appropriate prompt. NOTE: disregard the warning about a $19 one-time service charge; it will not apply once you speak to someone.
3. Wait for a rep.
4. When the rep answers, say, "I just upgraded from my iPhone (4, 4s, 5, etc.) to a Samsung Galaxy S5 and can no longer receive texts from other iPhone users. I found online that this is because my iMessage is still turned on and I need you to deactivate my iMessage that automatically sends other iPhone users' messages to that old phone, which I no longer have."
5. The rep, who -- if they are anything like Victoria, who said she's done this "quite a lot today, actually" -- will recognize your issue. The rep will send you a text message to your new device, which contains an alphanumeric code that you must read back to the rep to authenticate it. At that time, the rep will put in your iMessage deactivation request; it should (here's fingers crossed) become active within 24 (some users here say 48, so be patient) hours, at which time the problem should disappear.
I hope this is detailed enough to help everyone else out there. Based on the Apple rep's familiarity with my problem, I'm hopeful the process will work as promised. I will update when I know for sure after a day or two that it is (or isn't) working. -
Upgrade from FMS 3.5 to Flash Media Interactive Server no apps working
I sucessfully upgraded from FMS to FMIS. In the Admin it shows that the license is now Flash Media Interactive Server r405 I believe.
The live and vod services continue to work as expected.
On a separate development server I have developed a number of applications that I want to move to the new production server. Nothing connects at all on the new server. In the Admin, all the applications show as being available.
Is there something I need to do to make it work?
I don't want to post details on line but willing to share if someone can help out?
Boss really wants to make the $4000 upgrade work if you know what I mean...Thank you. If you don't mind, I would prefer to do it here although I am
happy to post the final results for the thread. I used to work at MM
and Adobe before that so I think there is great value in one to many
support.
1. How did you upgrade - using license file or license keys - i suppose license key?
License key. Just copied and pasted into the server admin's license screen.
2. Did you restart your server after putting in the serial key? If not , please restart, for licensing changes to take place, you need to restart the server.
Yes. I did, but I did it from the admin, not the start and stop applets.
3. If you have restarted and you are facing same issue - can you check your logs and see what error messages are you getting, you can check edge.00.log,core.00.log and master.00.log.
This is from the Edge.log. I am not really sure what it says, but it
coincides with when I entered the key.

4. If I am not mistaken you have upgraded from Streaming Server to Interactive Server, am i right?
Well the name on the screen was Flash Media Server 3.5 It streams just
fine, but I get really confused with all the names of the servers frankly.
5. Also which version of FMS are you using?
3.5
Thank you so much for your help. I am trying not to have to deinstall
the server and reinstall it. If I can avoid that, please let me know.
FWIW, this is the code I used to test to see if the server was accepting
connections to an unsigned app.
package
import flash.net.NetConnection;
import flash.display.Sprite;
import flash.text.TextField;
import flash.events.NetStatusEvent;
public class FMS3Connect extends Sprite
private var nc:NetConnection;
private var rtmpNow:String;
private var msg:String;
private var connectText:TextField;
private var posX:Number;
function FMS3Connect ()
nc=new NetConnection();
nc.addEventListener (NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS,checkConnect);
rtmpNow="rtmp://www.letsgoexpo.com/connect";
trace (rtmpNow);
//rtmpNow="rtmpe:/connect";
nc.connect (rtmpNow);
private function checkConnect (event:NetStatusEvent):void
connectText=new TextField();
msg=event.info.code;
connectText.width=250;
connectText.text=msg;
addChild (connectText);
posX=connectText.stage.stageWidth;
connectText.x=100;
connectText.y=175;
Of course it has a little SWF that goes with it, but there isn't
anything there except this.
On the development server this works and shows the connect.
Thanks for your help. I will be checking mail frequently after noon
pacific. I don't know where you are located so I guess you get mail out
whenver you can.

How do i get input from the user?
For example if i wanted to ask "Whats your favorite number" and then get the input from the user and assign it to a variable how would i go about doing that?
hi,
if you want to get input from your console your should work with io(input and output).The BufferedReader class, InputStreamReader class
you should import "java.io.BufferedReader" and "java.io.InputStreamReader" package, and do something like this:
BufferedReader input = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
String favoriteNumber;
System.out.println("Whats your favorite number ");
favoriteNumber = input.readLine();
System.out.println ("Your favorite Number Is " + favoriteNumber);
if its a gui you should import "javax.swing.JOptionPane" and do the following
String favoriteNumber = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, "Enter your favorite Number", "Favorite Number", JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);

RESUBMIT FM is making disappear from all user's inboxes!
Hello,
I one sent work item to multiple user's inboxes, say users are A, B and C.
I placed some validation function behind the ACCEPT button, the moment user clicks the ACCEPT button then my validation will trigger
Say, user B clicked the ACCEPT button and my validation got triggered and returned the FAILURE output for this work item for this user B, hence now programitically I need to make disappear / delete this work item from user B's inbox, but still should remain in other rest of the user's (A and C) inboxes, so that they hv a chance to accept it
I tried FMs of *RESUBMIT* and *DELETE*, but they are resubmitting / deleting from all user's inboxes!
Pls. let me know how can I achieve my requirement
Thank youI agree, we don't have a dedicated / workflow expert in our company, hence we disigned wrongly.
But, its close to move to PRD, hence we don't want to change design & their dependency other ABP objects
Hence, we do it in this way that, if user_B validation fails, we want disppear WI only from current B user's inbox.
So, what i understood from your suggestion is that, if my validation fails, then in next routine, I need to add B user ID in exclude list by using a CONTAINER change FM, right
if not, pls. help us step by step, also let us know FM for excluding the B user
Thank you -
Dynamic Picking of Org. Unit ID (Root) from the User Responsible!
Hi All,
We are implementing Nakisa 3.0 SP1 for our client. I do know, that we need to configure Root Org. Unit ID under 'General Settings' under 'Administrator Console'. This helps Nakisa to show Org. Structure starting from Root Org. ID configured.
However, we have multiple Talent Administrators responsible for different Organization Levels. Hence, we dont want to fix (or hardcode) root org. id in configuration. Instead we want system to pick Root Org. Unit ID from the USer who has looged based on 741 relationship in the backend (HRP1001).
I have no clue how to achieve this? Please Help!
Thanks,

Is it possible to call Java routines from FMS?
Say I have a game package, most of which
are written in Java. I am thinking
to leave the core logics in Java, but
change the user interface into Flash,
and serve it over FMS. Now is it
possible to call Java routines from
FMS?
I'd appreciate any suggestions.Yes! You can use SOAP(or XML-RPC) to call Java routines.

Btw, does anyone know if there is XML-RPC package for

Hi,
I have a text file in which some SamAccountNames are present.I need to check the file while creating a new users through ADUC console.If a username that is going to create through ADUC console is present in the file, then it should prompt a message
that the user is already present in the text file.
Is there any possibility of contacting the powershell script from the ADUC console.If so, then while creating a new user through ADUC console, what is the proceedure for executing that powershell script.
please provide me the approriate solutions.
Thanks
Prasanthi kRun the below Powershell Script for users are exist or not in AD. Later you can create the users.

$users = get-content c:\users.txt
foreach ($user in $users) {
$User = Get-ADUser -Filter {(samaccountname -eq $user)}
If ($user -eq $Null) {"User does not exist in AD ($user)" }
Else {"User found in AD ($user)"}

Creation of users in MDM console
Hi MDMers,
I have a simple question here.
We create a user in MDM console at the Admin part of the repository which is a known fact to every one.
I have a list of 500 users (approximately) to be created in the MDM console.
By any chance is there any way that I can do mass create of the users or upload the users from a excel sheet.
Or doing one by one manually is the only option for it?
Please give your inputs.
Thanks and Regards,
SravanHi Sravan,
You are advised to use data sources like LDAP etc.
But if any case integration with LDAP not in the scope for different reason it's possible to create mass users in MDM.
Please refer to below URL to find the quick method to implement your requirement

I hope this helps you.

Outlook 2010 Email Arrives Opened From One User
I have a client that has SBS2011 (Exchange 2010) and Office 2010. When they get an email from one users on the same domain it shows up as read. I have tested it and see it happen every time. This was not an issue until about 3 weeks ago. No idea if there was a change.
I have exported out the rules and deleted them. No joy.
I have checked and there are no odd Addins that look like they would cause this.
I know he checks his email on his iPhone. They show up read there too.
After about 2 hours of searching on this I have yet to find a solution.
Any of you guys have thoughts on this?PowerShell is good for a lot of things, but when you're in the midst of writing – and rewriting – a script, keeping a bottle of Advil in close quarters may feel like a necessity. But there's an easier way.According to Petri, Microsoft's prepackaged script snippets can save you headaches and time.In an official blog post, Microsoft explains that snippets give you an easy way to "paste arbitrary text into theISE console and script editor, right where you need it." Snippets help improve the productivity, discoverability, and usability of any given script. Petri walks you through how to discover Microsoft's prepackaged script snippets and, for the more ambitious, how to add your own. More than that, however, Petri gives you prewritten cmdlets that help you expedite the process of discovering snippets and loading them. If you've used...

I want to read user information from the console.
How can I flush the buffer before reading the next input from the user?buff = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(
System.in )); System.out.print("Enter
Character:");
System.out.flush();
String s = buff.readLine();
c=s.charAt(0);
System.out.println("You entered " + c + " " + s);
this is cleaner and more efficient. and is the flush
to System.out realy neccesary? isn't System.out
initialized so that any data written is automaticaly
flushed?Always other ways of doing things, in this case, probably your way is superior. But ... if you do:
st = new StringTokenizer(S);
byte b = Byte.parseByte(st.nextToken());... you can make a quick switch for other kinds of data. You could also do:
String s2 = s.substring(0,1);
byte b = Byte.parseByte(s2);I suppose. Options ... have a great weekend;
