Flash Builder can't Test or Debug

Recently I've not been able to test or debug my Actionscript projects. Everytime I try I get the following error screen.
I tried reinstalling Flash and the individual debuggers (do I need to use them to replace a file?)
Current specs are:
> Adobe Flash Builder 4
> Adobe Flash Player:

Here's an update...
I've looked for every Flash Player and Debugger I could find in the Adobe Flash CS5, Flash Builder 4 and seperate Flash Player folder and deleted them from my computer. Then I reinstalled Flash Player and installed the following debugger:
After that I tried Flash Builder again and was able to test my project, though it opened Flash CS5 instead of Flash Player, very strange.
So I continued with the debugger and that also started the Flash CS5 player instead of the standalone player and also started loading in Flash Builder:
Up till the point where Flash Builder showed me this error:
The current problem is now the error above and the fact that I can't seem to be able to see any traces of debugging code in my console (Flash Builder) or Output screen (Flash Pro CS5).
Has anyone got an idea?
UPDATE:
I was able to make it work IF I let Flash Builder Generate an HTML Wrapper file.
If I tick it off, the debugging will start Flash Pro CS5, but doesn't debug and gives me the same things as the 2 last screenshot.

  • Flash Builder 4.7 won't debug air app on Android devices  anymore

    Hi there,
A strange thing happened today to my Flash Builer 4.7 installation on OS 10.8.5 : it suddenly refused installing and debugging AIR apps.
At -the famous- 57% of compilation completion I can see the "installing app on device" message, but nothing happens then, and the one minute connection to app timeout is finally triggered.
I had a look at other threads dealing with this problem here http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1154269 and here http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/02/12/new-android-4-2-2-feature-usb-debug-whitelist-prev ents-adb-savvy-thieves-from-stealing-your-data-in-some-situations/ and I downloaded the latets Android SDK and replaced a bunch of files into the /Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6/sdks/4.6.0/lib/android/bin folder but nothing worked.
The fun side of the issue is that yesterday it worked, and this morning it did not worked anymore, but I swear I did not ugraded Android on my phone nor I upgraded AIR SDK in FLash Builder or OS X. The Android phone is the same as usual, a Nexus 4 with Android 4.3, that I upgraded 1 month ago.
I can't debug my Android app anymore, this drives me crazy, and I spent the day trying to find a solution.
Do you guys had a similar problem ?

    My mistake...
There was a typo into the XML application descriptor, that prevented the app to install properly on the device.
Precisely, it wasn't a typo but raher a malformed <intent-filter> node. I launched adb tool from the console with adb install MyApp.apk command, and I saw this : Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_MANIFEST_MALFORMED] in the terminal. From here it was easy to find the culprit.
What would be cool is to have this feature inside the Flash Builder's Console panel.

  • Flash Builder 4.6  differences between debug version and apk release version

I've been struggling for several days now.  I have a simple swf file that just says 'hello world' on a green background. It is written in Flash 8 actionscript 2. I've used the Flash Builder  actionscript mobile project and flex mobile project in both cases and  I can get it to download and display quite happily in the debug version on the desktop emulator and on my ASUS eee Pad Transformer Prime using a USB cable .  Thinking that all is ok I then 'export the release build'  and the result is a blank white screen on my tablet.
I then did a simple Flex Project as per an adobe 'my first app' tutorial (hellow world!/Success!) and exported the release build with the same certificate I used before and it worked fine.
So after all that my question is - what could be the reason that my tablet is quite able to run a debug version of my embedded swf file but not the apk release version of it?
    Any ideas?
    thanks

  • Flash Builder 4 compiles tests to Flash Player 9?

    Hi all,
I seem to be running into a serious problem:
Inside Flash Builder (262635) - Inside the package explorer - when I right click on a test suite and choose 'Execute FlexUnit Tests' - It seems to build the tests targetting flash player 9 and complains about 'Type was not found compile time constant: Vector'. Using the same test suite from an ant script that explicitly sets the target to be flash player 10 is fine, but I can't get it to work from insiode the IDE.
Is there any way to tell the internal testing system to target flash player 10? My compiler for the project is set to target 10.
    Conrad

Just got the same problem and, after reading this http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Targeting+Flash+Player+10 I solved it by changing target player in flex-config.xml (found in your_sdk/frameworks) to 10.0.0:
    <target-player>10.0.0</target-player>
I suggest duplicating your existing SDK (presumably 3.5) to 3.5_10 and changing the flex-config.xml. That is if you have multiple projects in your workspace and you expect some of them to compile with fp 9.
Let me know if it worked out.

  • Flash Builder Burrito, Random Crash in Debug Build

    Hello:
I have been working with Flash Builder Burrito for about a week. When I publish it to the Xoom device in debug mode, it will crash at random. When I publish it as a normal build, it works great.
I'm not sure if it's actually a crash or it loses the Wi-Fi connection to the device and just quits out?
I get no errors to the Debug window when it just random quits the app.
I would suggest it's a coding error but it is just sitting at a simple MXML screen and not doing anything in the background. Plus it works when I do a normal build with out the Debug console.
My guess is there is a packet loss or something and it quits out?

This is a bug in AIR on the Xoom device.  As you pointed out it only happens when debugging.  We're aware of the issue and working on a fix, you can track the progress on this bug: http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-30457

  • Flash Pro CC produces swc that Flash Builder can't compile

I've been using Flash CS6 to work with graphics and I export swc files to use them in my FlashBuilder project.
Today I tried to use to new Flash Pro CC. But now I've got the following issue. When I try to Run/Debug my project шт FlashBuilder - compiling is never be finished. It stucks on 57%. And it doesn't show any error.
I worked fine when I used Flash CS6 to made swc files.
I tried to use FlashBuilder 4.5 and 4.7 with different FlexSDK (from 4.0 to 4.6). But it didn't help.
By trial and error I could figure out the problem is in any code I use in frames in my fla files. I usestop(); in many MovieClips. But that's enough that my projects can't be compiled now
I tried to comment stop(); but Flash Builder still can't finish the compilation. Only full removing all the code from my fla files allowed the project to be compiled.
Has anyone catched this bug too? Maybe is there better solution?
Sometimes I use stop(); and gotoAndPlay("frameName") in frames to loop some animations - it's really convinient. And I wouldn't to give up this convenience
P.S. Just in case I work on Mac.

Try changing target player in Flash Professional to match Flex SDK version. For example Flex SDK 4.6 targets Flash Player 11.1.

  • Flash builder 4 no run or debug

    Greetings.
Thank you for completing a very interesting technology.  I am currently evaluating Flex platform to see if it is something I can rely on in the future when considering a RIA platform.
I started with Flash Builder beta 2 about a week before final release came out.  All worked well as I was going through "flex in a week" series.
However, when moving from a trial to the final release I do not have "Run" and "Debug" buttons any more. I uninstalled beta first.
Both times I downloaded a plug-in version for windows.  I tried installing twice; first into an existing eclipse environment (Zend Studio) and after it didn't work uninstalled and tried with bundled version of Eclipse.  I have not tried downloading a standalone version yet.  The only way to see the result is through "Export release build" which is OK for final preview but is impossible to debug.
I checked perspecitive customizer to see if the buttons were simply unchecked from the toolbar but they are nowhere to be found in the list.
I also noticed that my workspace changes are never saved and I always have to open all the views over again each time I start the application. Do not know if this is related.
How can I get back the debug and run buttons?
    Thank you for any suggestions.

Try "Reset Perspective" in your Window menu.

  • Flash Builder: Can't export apps to Android 4.3 device

Flash Builder Problem: Can't export apps to my Android device now that it was upgrade to Android 4.3
I just installed Android 4.3 and all the problems started. Everything was working great with 4.2.2.
Is this a know issue? I can't even build a simple Hello World mobile app.
Also some of my previously installed Flex apps will not run on my 4.3 device. Some old apps do
run and this is very confusing as all where created with Flash Builder 4.7 and Air 3.7.
Does Air 3.8 resolve this issue?
    My system:
Mac Flash Builder 4.7 with Air 3.7

My Nexus 7 Android 4.3 developer options setting:
    1- USB debugging (checked ON)
2- Verify apps over USB (checked ON)
    My steps:
1- built a very basic Hello World mobile app in Flash Builder 4.7 with Air 3.7
    2- Select Debug As…
3- Flash Builder starts as normal
4- I normally see (in the bottom right hand ) Launching 6%  - 57%,  then it launches the app on the device.
    5- With 4.3 I see the following Launching 6%  - 57% - 58% …. 100%
6- Now I get a dialog box that says "The Flash Builder debugger failed to connect …."
I have a Nexus Galaxy phone running 4.2.2, and this same Hello World works perfectly.

  • What Runtime is Flash Builder using when running or debugging an AIR application?

I just updated my AIR runtime to 3.0 and noticed that my AIR application doesn't work anymore (my logfile reports an Uncaught Error #1508). So I tried to debug it with Flash Builder, but when I run it there, everything works just fine. So I uninstalled the AIR runtime completely but noticed that I can execute my AIR app within Flash Builder still just fine. So the AIR runtime used within Flash Builder seems to be a different one than the systemwide installed AIR runtime. How Do I chose within Flash Builder which runtime to use and how do I update this runtime?

When you use Flash Builder, it uses the copy of the AIR SDK that is inside the Flex SDK. This has a complete AIR runtime that is used for debugging. You can choose which AIR runtime to use by switching to a Flex SDK that has a different version of AIR. You can update any Flex SDK by copying the new AIR SDK into it, replacing any existing AIR files. (On a Mac there are some gotcha's here because copied folders are replaced not combined.)

  • Flash Builder on RAD : testing without republishing EAR

    Hi,
I'm developping a flex app (flash builder 4) inside a J2EE on IBM RAD 7.5+Websphere 7, and I have the following problem :
each time I've made a modification to the flex app, I have to refresh the project, and then republish the EAR (which restarts it), which produce quite long development/test cycles.
I'm pretty sure that at one point, I was able to test modifications to my flex app without the whole restarting the whole EAR...
Are there settings in flash builder or RAD to control this behaviour?

It's same with me, i also using Google Nexus 7(2013). Just a simple default apps with nothing created by Flash Builder, it get error and not working!

  • Flash Builder 4 beta 2 Debug deployment

Flashbuilder hangs nearly very time I try and deploy (via debug) my _trivial_ application (see http://anirudhs.chaosnet.org/blog/2009.10.12.html for the tutorial i'm trying to follow). Flash builder goes in to a 'Building workspace' mode and stays at 0%. I have tried restarting flash builder, restarting computer, reinstalling flashbuilder, etc all to no avail. It has worked _once_ in about 20 attempts. I have switched off 'Build Automatically' for the workspace, to no avail. While I don't get the 'Building workspace' message, it pops up the browser window and then the browser window just sits there. The browser never loads the app. I've tried this using chrome and firefox. After force quitting flash builder the flash application comes up in the browser.
If I choose to run the app, rather than debug it, it appears to work consistently. I installed the 'debug' version of flash player 10 (as directed when I first attempted to debug the application) from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html#fp10.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Bob

As always, 5 minutes after posting I think I figure out the issue. On that one attempt that worked I set various breakpoints trying to debug something. On subsequent attempts to debug the app, flash builder never opened up the debug perspective (even though during that previous session I said to always open it up). I guess flash builder was sitting at a breakpoint waiting for me to do hit the continue button. After clearing all my breakpoints debugging worked. Of course, I can't reproduce the issue anymore.. even after setting a number of breakpoints flash builder is always taking me to the debug perspective now. I guess I just havn't found that 'magic' breakpoint yet since this (flash not opening debug perspective when hitting a breakpoint) has happened to me twice - the initial install and subsequent install of flash builder - while trying to debug the same issue...

  • Flash Builder 4.7 Packages AIR iOS Standard Even Without Changes

"Note: If you have not changed your code or assets since the last debug IPA package was generated, Flash Builder skips the packaging and debugs the application. That is, you can launch the installed application on your device and click Debug to connect to the Flash Builder debugger. This way, you can debug repeatedly without packaging the application every time."
This appears to not be working in Flash Builder 4.7.  It always worked fine in 4.6.  Basically it packages the application every single time I click Debug, regardless of whether anything was changed.

Hi Brent, I've got a bug filed in this thread, including a project where I've isolated the probem to a single swc lib:

That's just not happening, I have to repackage the ipa every time I click debug. This was working ok in 4.6. Can you guys take a look at it?.
    Thanks.

  • Launch Failed - Flash Builder 4.7 (AIRSDK 3.9)

    Hi Guys,
I've performed some changes to my code and saw that they did not apply.
Anyway, I decided to clean the project and ever since I have been receiving the following message:
    Process terminated unexpectedly.
    initial content not found
    Launch command details: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722\AIRSDK\bin\adl.exe" -runtime "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722\AIRSDK\runtimes\air\win" -profile mobileDevice -screensize 768x1004:768x1024 -XscreenDPI 132 -XversionPlatform IOS "C:\Users\Aviv\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7\PuzzlepediaMobile\bin-debug\PuzzlepediaMobile-app.xml" "C:\Users\Aviv\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7\PuzzlepediaMobile\bin-debug"
I can't seem to trace the issue, it seems to be related to some resolution factor but I'm not sure.
Please assist, your help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Yes, but I forgot how I did it. Here said that you must right click on flash content and choose debugger, but in OSX debugger can't enabled.

how i can make it work?
    Thank for answer.

OK, the latest SVNKit only support Subversion 1.6.5 (http://svnkit.com/documentation.html), so Subclipse 1.6 is the latest version supported.
Rats. I'll have to use a separate svn client just to work with Subversion 1.7 repositories.
