Flash Builder Loop while pre-launch check

Hi all,
I've just installed a new Flash Builder instance with Coldfusion builder plugin + some other cool features (Subversive, Taskstop...).
I've imported an exisisting project and everything seems to load properly after fixed privileges issues ( for Coldfusion builder and MXML design view).
But still one bigger problem... When i try to launch my project, the progress bar freeze at 6% performing pre-launch check).
There is no error output, so i can't send you any log :S
Don't find any solution on google and it seems that i'm the only guy facing this one
Is there anybody here that can help me ?
Thanks a lot !
Francois

Mmmmhhh... I've finally found how to resolve this issue... but still have issue related to code highlight for Coldfusion files...
Here are the steps i follow to :
1. i've installed Flash Builder 4 as Administrator
2. I've installed ColdFusion Builder as plugin and as Administrator.
3. Right click on Flash Builder .exe and in shortcut -> advanced -> checked the as administrator launch
4. Right click on Flash Builder .exe and in compatibility -> checked "execute as admin".
Now Flash builder launch correctly and i can launch my applications without problems...
Weird.. but it works for me...
Still have to understand why coldfusion file aren't correctly highlighted...
chuss !

  • Flash Builder 4.6 not launching

Just discovered that Flash Builder 4.6 and 4.5 do not run. Flash Builder 4 does. Get the logo popping up but nothing loading. I'd uninstall the other two versions but I get an error when I go into my program settings and click on my CS package.
    Any suggestions?

UPDATE: I contacted Adobe yesterday and they had me do something I would of not thought of.
    Run MSCONFIG
On the Services tab click Hide all Microsoft services.
    Click Disable all button
    Restart your system
Run Flash Builder (It now started)
I closed Flash Builder and went back into MSCONFIG
Uncheck Hide all Microsoft services (if checked)
    Click Enable all button
    Restart your computer
Flash Builder still worked after this. All is now good.

  • Flash Builder 4 crashes on Launch

I get this error message when launching now...
"Licensing for this product has stopped working"... blah, blah
    Error: 150:30
    Any ideas??

    Hi Chris,
    I haven't received FB4 Beta SN.
Anyway I've given up on my laptop and have loaded it on my desktop PC which seems to be ok. I say seems because sometimes it gets as far as halfway thru the loading project screen and then crashes I then launch it again and its fine.
The laptop has had both pre-release versions and the final version of Flex Builder 3
The Desktop only has the final version of Flex Builder 2
So I'm guessing it has something to do with the pre-release licenses. Is there any way of clearing these from my laptop?
    Regards
    Richard.

  • Flash Builder 4.5 Pre-Release Release Build Not Working

    Hello,
I am doing a release build of a project, getting no errors, and the AIR app works just fine on my machine.  Others have no success trying to run the app.  1 is on XP, the other Windows 7.  Both have the most recent version of AIR.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

By a fluke I discovered the remedy: run both programs as administrator.

  • Invalid Launch Image in Flash Builder 4.6

I've been making updates and releases to my iPad app for the last several months, but just recently, I started receiving this email back from Apple:
iPhone 5 Optimization Requirement - Your binary is not optimized for iPhone 5. As of May 1, all new iPhone apps and app updates submitted must support the 4-inch display on iPhone 5. All           apps must include a launch image of the appropriate size. Learn more about iPhone 5 support by reviewing the iOS Human Interface Guidelines.
I've been googling this for a while, and have tried adding  Default.png (320x480), Default-586h.png (640x960), and [email protected] (640x960) files to the root directory and made sure they were being compiled into the .ipa file.  With the [email protected] file, I received an additional error in the nastygram from Apple:
Invalid Launch Image - Your app contains a launch image with a size modifier that is only supported for apps built with the iOS 6.0 SDK or later.
So I took out the @2x file and it still failed.  Now, my app isn't even intended for the iPhone5, it's intended for the iPad.  What can I do to make them happy so I can keep making releases?

These are the errors tackled with this post:
iPhone 5 Optimization Requirement - Your binary is not optimized for iPhone 5. As of May 1, all new iPhone apps and app updates submitted must support the 4-inch display on iPhone 5. All apps must include a launch image with the -568h size modifier immediately following the <basename> portion of the launch image's filename. Launch images must be PNG files and located at the top-level of your bundle, or provided within each .lproj folder if you localize your launch images. Learn more about iPhone 5 support and app launch images by reviewing the iOS Human Interface Guidelines and iOS App Programming Guide.
Invalid Launch Image - Your app contains a launch image with a size modifier that is only supported for apps built with the iOS 6.0 SDK or later.
Non-PIE Binary - The executable 'C-Print Mobile.app' is not a Position Independent Executable. Please ensure that your build settings are configured to create PIE executables. For more information, refer to Technical Q&A QA1788 - Building a Position Independent Executable
I followed these steps to get my app .ipa to the point where Apple would accept it:
Download the latest AIR SDK. My Flash Builder was using the AIR SDK 3.6. From within Flash Builder I clicked "Check for updates..." and Flash Builder said it was up-to-date. BUT when checked the AIR SDK website, there in fact was a newer version. So you may need to update, even if Flash Builder says otherwise. To check, go to Windows -> Preferences -> Installed AIR SDKs. If you have AIR SDK 3.6 or less, you need to update.
The latest SDK can be downloaded here:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/air-sdk-download.html
IMPORTANT: If you are building a Flex project (that was my situation), you will need to download the SDK without the compiler. This will be under the "Note: Flex users will need to download the original AIR SDK without the new compiler." section.
Install the downloaded SDK. The instructions are different for Flex projects and ActionScript projects.
    Flex: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/how-overlay-air-sdk-flex-sdk.html
    ActionScript: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-builder/kb/overlay-air-sdk-flash-builder.html
Reference the correct version in your app.xml file. My app was using AIR SDK 3.1, which is very old. As of this writing, I'm now using:<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/3.7">
Include a splash screen image called [email protected] in the top-most level of your source. This file must be 640x1136 (width x height), and is required for iPhone 5 devices.
Read the following forum thread about the Non-PIE Binary issue. As of this writing, it is being regarded as "not a big deal", but Apple may become more strict about this in the future.http://forums.adobe.com/message/5281575
Best of luck. If these steps work for you, let me, and others, know here in the forums!

  • Flash Builder 4.6 horribly unresponsive

I'm using Flash builder 4.6 (and have used prior versions of flash builder as well) with a flex/actionscript project on a Windows 7, 64 bit box.  Flash Builder itself (not the launched application) is horribly slow and unresponsive.  I do not have the auto build turned on or design mode on
Here are some of the problems I regularly have:
    - Opening the window, if it has been minimized, and clicking anywhere on it causes the window to be greyed out and have the "(not responding)" message added to its title bar.  It starts working after 15 seconds.
    - Using the arrow keys to move up and down in a .as or .mxml file is jerky.  I.e., some keystrokes move at the rate I hit them, but others pause, wait a few seconds, and then move.  This also occurs with mouse actions.
    - Using code navigation like F3 or <CTRL>-<SHIFT>-G causes Flash Builder to pause while it thinks.  In the case of <CTRL>-<SHIFT>-G, it pauses so long that one thinks there are no references (because the search starts with 0 results).
    - Building code within flash builder takes minutes.  Even the modification of a single file takes forever.
In general, I've found working with Flash Builder one of the worst development experiences (I've worked with Eclipse for the last 6 years, VIM, & Visual Studio too) I've had.
    These are the installed components:
Adobe Data Modeling Core Components 4.5.304901.v20110217 com.adobe.model.feature.core.feature.group Adobe Systems Incorporated
Eclipse IDE for Java Developers 1.4.0.20110615-0550 epp.package.java null
org.eclipse.equinox.p2.operations NLS Support 3.7.0.v20110716043402 org.eclipse.equinox.p2.operations.nl1_3.7.0.v20110716043402 Adobe Systems Incorporated
org.eclipse.wst.internet.cache NLS Support 3.7.0.v20110716043402 org.eclipse.wst.internet.cache.nl1_3.7.0.v20110716043402 Adobe Systems Incorporated
RDS Core and Database Components 4.5.304901.v20110217 com.adobe.rds.feature.feature.group Adobe Systems Incorporated

I have similar problems with some .as files. The compiler/formatter/assistant seems to hang, consuming 100% cpu (or 25% on my quad-core) and blocking the UI. Each keystroke / click takes 10-15 seconds. The cursor flashes very slowly. Sometimes the window goes white with "not responding" in the title bar.
I have not yet been able to pinpoint the problem precisely or reproduce with a simple code sample, but it seems to happen when
    a)  your code contains inline (anonymous) functions and
    b) you have typed an opening bracket but no closing bracket yet -  ( ), { }, [ ].
The situation continues until the brackets are balanced.
Can either of you confirm that this is so in your case?

  • Flash Builder 4 - RemoteObjects

I'm having an issue with remoteobjects in flash builder 4. I built a simple little project to see if I could get remoteobjects working.
I got the project working and the output folder resides on a web server on my local LAN (not the machine with flash builder installed).
Here is the issue I am having...
When I build the app from from flash builder 4 the project launches everything works fine. If I open the URL of the project on the web server from my machine with flash builder 4 on it the project works fine. If I open the URL from any other machine the calls to the remoteobject do not work. I've scoured the web and haven't seen anyone else run into this issue so I'm assuming its something I'm doing wrong.
I am on a trial version of flash builder 4. I just wanted to mention that but I don't see how that could be the issue.
I've tried both methods of defining the remoteobject endpoint (both at runtime as one of the MXML remoteobject properties, and via a services-config.xml using the compiler argument -services PathToConfigFile). In each case the project runs and works fine from the machine with flash builder 4 installed on it but just not any other machine. I've also tried defining the -context-root thinking that may have been the issue still no dice.
Any help would be greatly apprecaited.
I'm not sure how useful the code would be as the project does work but here it is in any event...

          return "+++ ".$text." +++";

I've resolved the issue sort of...
I exported a release build then re-tested the application and it works fine. For some reason while the application is in debug mode the remoteobject method calls aren't working on any other machines on the network... I still have no idea why... is this a new feature to prevent folks from using the debug swf's in production?
In flex 3 I'd give the PROJECT-debug URL to my manager so he could track my progress but I was using the httpservice class and it worked without issue. In any event if someone knows the answer or has any additional information it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank-you.

  • Java projects in Flash Builder

    Hi all,
I previously used Flex Builder 3 on Vista x64.   Inside Flex Builder 3, I had both flex projects and java projects.  I needed both because I use BlazeDS and kept the java code in a separate project.  I would only like 1 development environment.
I recently upgraded to Windows 7 x64 and went ahead and upgraded my Flex Builder 3 to Flash Builder 4.
It was a simple measure to import my flex projects into Flash Builder 4.
When I tried to import the Flex 3 java projects into Flash Builder 4, Flash Builder responded with:
" The folder does not contain a valid Flash Builder Project."
Short of installing Eclipse, a 32bit version of java, and using the Flash Builder Plugin, is there a way to get my java projects to import and compile in Flash Builder 4 while running on Windows 7 x64?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts,
    - Steve
P.S.  I may have had to import something special to get it to work in Flex Builder 3, I just can't remember.

If you're trying to compile Java projects in FB4, you'll need to add eclipse's Java Development Tools (JDT).
You can add the JDT this way:
    - quit FB4, and launch with "Run as Administrator" from the context (right-click) menu
    - from the Help menu choose "Install New Software..."
    - in the resulting dialog click "Add", and enter a name of your choosing such as "Galileo Updates" in the Name field
    - enter this URL into the Location field:
    http://download.eclipse.org/releases/galileo/
    - hit OK and then browse the available Galileo Updates
    - select Programming Languages > Eclipse Java Development Tools
    - continue on with the usual Update workflow, and after finishing it will prompt you to relaunch automatically.
Allow FB4 to relaunch, and you should now have the JDT available for compiling Java projects.

  • New to programming. Should I use Flash Builder 4.6 to create CRUD interface to MySQL?

Having just acquired Creative Cloud subscription, I see that I have access to Flash Builder 4.6 Premium. I haven't figured out yet if I will eventually have access to Flash Builder 4.6 for PHP when / if it is released.
I am relatively new to programming. I want to create a desktop application, perhaps a web application, to manage a MySQL database. I am not, at this time, concerned with mobile applications. I'm primarily interested in just managing the MySQL data -- CRUD (create, read, update, delete) operations.
Hopefully I've provided enough context. My question concerns whether learning Flash Builder 4.6 and Flex programming is an appropriate choice. Alternatively, I could just focus on learning basic PHP programming or perhaps learning to use one of the PHP frameworks (CakePHP, CodeIgniter, or Zend). It seems like learning these frameworks will take time as well, so I don't know where I should begin.
I would really value your perspective. Are the Flash Builder related technologies here to stay? Is Flash Builder primarily suitable for mobile applications (rather than desktop or web)? Would it be more or less difficult to learn Flash Builder and Flex than PHP and one of the PHP frameworks with a view to building a MySQL CRUD application?
Thank you, so very much -- for your time and expertise.
    Kevin

    Kevin,
I am a big fan of Flash Builder.  You can build great desktop web applications as well desktop applications that run on AIR (installs locally to the desktop).
I found it easier to pick up Flex (now Flash Builder) primarily due to the resources (Learn Flex in a week video tutorials http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/videotraining.html ) as well as a big developer community that posts a lot of how to's and walk throughs.  In my personal opinion, I think the power of Flash Builder/Flex framework is the ability to create what traditionally was seen as desktop apps within your web browser.  If you're looking to create a basic crud interface, skipping Flash Builder and just doing it in PHP may be the way to go.  If you're looking to add visualizations (ie graphs, charts) or highly interactive user interface to it then Flash Builder would be a good way to go (though keep in mind that you will still need PHP (or some other server side application layer like coldfusion) to interface with your mysql database  but Flash Builder's dataservices creates some sample php classes for you to handle CRUD using Zend).    There's lots of amazing things you can do with Flash Builder.  I'd recommend checking out some of the samples from Tour de Flex to get a sense of what can be done with Flash Builder.
A couple of notes though - You can build and package native mobile apps with Flash Builder but if you're looking to create web apps for devices like iphone and ipads, Flash Builder isn't the solution since it compiles web based apps to Flash and we all know how idevices don't play nicely with Flash.

  • Adobe Flash Builder 4 Serial

    Hello Adobe,
Flash Builder 4 asks for serial number, and shows 30-days trial dialog, but I cannot find where I can buy it - it is not in the product list.
    please, help.

    Hi guys,
Please try the following steps found in the Flash Builder Release Notes:
If Flash Builder Beta fails to launch successfully after installation,
or if you receive a Licensing error message during launch, here's the
    recommended workaround:
    Quit all running applications.
    Uninstall Flash Builder Beta.
Making sure that there are still no other applications running, install Flash Builder Beta.
In most cases, steps 1-3 should be enough, but if it still won't launch, a reboot can help as a follow-up.
If that doens't work, there are further suggestions in the release notes and in this thread which will hopefully help: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/440762?tstart=0

  • Flash builder 4 installation somehow broke my flex builder 3 debuggin/running/profiling launch.

After installing flash builder 4 neither it nor flex builder 3 has been able to launch swf:s from flex. After hitting run or debug flex gives a prompt saying "Flash Player not Found. Flex builder cannot locate the required version of Flash Player. You might need to install Flash Player 9 or reinstall Flex Builder. Do you want to try to run your application with the current version?". The popup itself happened before installing flash builder 4. But normally I would just hit yes and it would use whatever flashplayer is default.
Now if I click yes it launches command prompt with a path to flex builder 3 installation folder. When running from flash builder 4, same happens except the path is the installation folder for flash builder 4. Flex then starts waiting for connection from debugger and after a while it prompts a timeout message. The command prompts title is ...\workspace\project\bin-debug\filename.swf.
When opening the swf files directly from windows they open fine.
I used the uninstaller software for flash player and then fetched both fp9&10 and reinstalled them. Which didn't help. When launching to browser everything works just fine, the problem occurs only when launching to standalone player. I tried to check registry settings if there would be something wrong, but all the paths for flashplayers seem to be ok.
Is there any other hope to fix this than reinstalling flex builder 3 & flash builder 4 from scratch?

You need content debugger FP installed
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html download it from there and install and you should see the problem go away
Download the Windows Flash Player 10 ActiveX control content debugger (for IE) (EXE, 2.03 MB)
