Flash buttons appear as white boxes

Hi,
I'm importing learning interactions as swf files from Flash into a Captivate project. These learning interactions use button components for "reset" and "submit". If the learning interaction is NOT on the first slide of the project I get white boxes and no functionality where the buttons should be. The buttons then work on all learning interaction slides after the first one.
Help!

Hi,
One thing you haven't mentioned about changing background colors is your CellRenderer. That is the object that performs the drawing of your custom nodes. I would start with that and see what you can do. Maybe you can override setVisible in that class and change your renderer to just draw an empty rectangle using the background color instead of your custom component. You might need to do this because the paint might even be getting called because of the setVisible flag being false.
Regards,
Manfred.

  • Pngs flicker and appear as white boxes when scrolling down page in Chrome 37.0.2062.120 m

    Hello,
    I have noticed that pngs flicker and appear as white boxes when scrolling down the page in Chrome 37.0.2062.120 m in windows only. Chrome on the mac is fine and this issue doesn't occur on the windows version of chrome canary. It would appear that the pngs are reloading when I scroll.
    There is alot going on in this animation, I am going to sprite most of these pngs to reduce sever requests which may help, but im certain this isnt the root cause of this issue.
    Has anyone come across this issue before?
    Please link to the animation in question here.
    Any advice much appreciated. http://new.oliverrice.co.uk/oliverrice.co.uk.html

    So I have created a sprite for the majority of the png's that form my symbols. This has reduced the total number of sever image requests from over 70 to 5. this has worked really well and feel adobe could add a feature that creates one sprite from all the images within the library. The animation seems to run a lot faster than before and loads much quicker.
    I am however still experiencing the problem mentioned above in chrome 37.0.2062.120 m.
    The animation also runs slowly on the I pad and I phone which I guess is down to memory usage? The animation wasnt intended for the iphone, but it would be nice to see it run on the ipad.

  • Invisible controls appear as white boxes

    I'm currently writing a swing applet that displays a JTree with custom drawn labels and checkboxes on the nodes and uses the Windows Look & Feel. It appears when I set IsVisible(false) on either checkbox or label that they display an empty white box. This wouldn't be a problem if my background was white, which it's not. I've tried setting the background color on everything (RootPane, ContentPane, JScrollPane, the tree, the checkbox, the label ) to the same color but wih no success. Is there something I'm overlooking?

  • Firefox Problems with Flash Button alignment

    Hey Forums,
    I am using Dreamweaver CS3, for a website. For the page I
    used a 3 column elastic with header and footer.
    On the left sidebar I have four flash buttons, and whenever I
    preview the page in Mozilla Firefox, the upmost button for some
    reasons aligns to the right. I have no alignment settings set, and
    the alignment for the sidebar is set to left. It only happens in
    Firefox, not Safari nor Internet Explorer. I attached the code, if
    you need anymore info, ask.

  • A white box appears in the middle of screen and locks me out of Firefox

    Every time I open Firefox this white box with a gray bar appears in the exact middle of the screen with no text. There is also a box that can be checked or unchecked. If I click on the gray bar or the question mark, nothing happens, and I cannot make it go away. I have attached a screen shot of it. Please note that when I did the screen shot, Firefox was open, and I could see the web page behind it, although only the box was captured in the screen shot. I am able to run Firefox in safe mode, and I already turned off the hardware acceleration, but that has not solved my problem. I have restarted my computer, but that also has not helped. I tried the "automatically add" button below to add the troubleshooting information, but it didn't work, probably because I am using IE right now. If I could use Firefox, I would not be posting this message. Obviously, the manual steps also failed.

    I do like the toolbar, but as soon as I installed that new version, that pesky box popped up again! So, I have once again disabled it. I guess I'll just have to wait for future versions of Firefox and/or AOL toolbar to sort this all out. Thanks again for your help!

    One more thing to try.  Double click on the home button.  Scroll in that bottom line of icons (swipe finger to left) to the app that are all white.  Hold your finger on the app until the - sign appears.  Tap it to close the app.  Hopefully it will then show up correctly.  (As they say about chicken soup curing a cold, "can't hurt")

  • White Box appears for a second before loading (Preloader?)

    Hello,
    This is my second post in 2 days (sorry). I am working with
    Flash MX. I am building a site and I have build a template of sorts
    (menu layout & background image). I was originally going to try
    to load external swf (which was yesterday's issue and now resolved)
    but it didn't quite give me the effect I was looking to achieve.
    So, I am now linking to each page using flash buttons. I drop
    a .swf it's own HTML page (home, contact, etc.). I am not sure if
    this is the best way to do it, but it has worked in the past.
    However, I am getting a white box where the swf sits as I navigate
    from page to page.
    Is this because I need a preloader? I have the background
    color in my .fla file set to black. If not, how do rid of the box?
    Thanks.

    Hey, I couldn't wait to try this out. I pasted your code in
    and I am still having the issue. Maybe it's just the way I have set
    this up. I like having individual swf on each page. Not sure where
    to go from here. I really do appreciate all your help in sticking
    with my issue. Sorry if I am misunderstanding things. As I learn, I
    want my work to look professional.
    Also, at what point do I use a preloader? Is it always
    needed?

  • A white box appears and cannot be deleted on one specific email web page.

    The box is opaque, relatively small but annoying, and blocks out anything behind it. It shows a small part of a preview of any highlighted email message. If there is no message in the inbox, the box is blank. The box cannot be removed but changes position and size as the parent window is enlarged or diminished.
    The problem is unique to the "email" window (as opposed to, for example, a full screen view of my contacts). It appears in both of the email accounts I have set-up despite separate log-ins. It is unique to my iMac computer and Mozilla (3.6.11). It does not appear when logging in, using Mozilla on my wife's PC, or when I log in on the iMac using another browser (Safari).
    Obviously I can work around the problem, but would love to solve it.

    I tried all the above, with the following conditions: - I cleared the cache but the box that indicates any web sites that are saving data is and has been empty. - I removed all cookies - I re-started in Safe Mode and disabled all add-ons - I have always been operating in the default theme. There was no difference when the email page opened. I then trouble shot all the plugins although I did not repeat the above procedures before re-enabling each one-by-one. I discovered that in order to open the webmail page, the only plugin that must be enabled is Shockwave Flash 10.1.85.3 . In Safe Mode once again, with only that plug-in enabled, with the cache emptied, with the add-ons turned off, and with the cookies deleted, the email page will open but with the same white box that has been plaguing me. Thank you for the try, perhaps you have another idea?

  • Why am i getting a white box appearing at the top of my page, and the seeing firefox freeze?

    Just installed Firefox to Mac OSX 10.7.5. FF opens ok, but within seconds, a small white box drops down from the top of the window, the "File/Edit/View/History etc" from the top of my screen disappears leaving only "FireFox" and my Apple logo in the top left corner, and FF remains frozen. I can quit it and restart, but it just keeps happening. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, and it keeps happening. Any ideas?

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
    *Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • IE Flash "white box" on hover (Eolas) issue

    Hello,
    I've been trying to embed a Dreamweaver-generated Flash
    slideshow movie in a page on my site, and have run into the
    scenario wherein a white box appears around the border of the
    movie's region on the page when users of Internet Explorer first
    visit the page and hover their cursor over it. I attempted to use
    the fix outlined here, without success:
    http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/
    I'm a little uneasy about the massive parameter list
    generated by Dreamweaver. Does anyone have any experience with
    using this fix with Dreamweaver-generated Flash movies?
    Below is the relevant code for the page:
    var fo = new SWFObject("../graphics/indexslide.swf",
    "header", "850", "500", "7", "#1C0F15");
    fo.addParam("quality", "high");
    fo.addParam("scale", "noborder");
    fo.addParam("LOOP", "false");
    fo.addParam("menu", "false");
    fo.addParam("scale", "noborder");
    fo.addParam("flash_component", "ImageViewer.swc");
    fo.addParam("FlashVars",
    "flashlet={captionFont:'Verdana',titleFont:'Verdana',showControls:false,frameShow:false,s lideDelay:4,captionSize:10,captionColor:#1C0F15,titleSize:10,transitionsType:'Fade',titleC olor:#1C0F15,slideAutoPlay:true,slideLoop:true,frameThickness:0,imageLinks:['
    http://macromedia.com/','http://macromedia.com/','http://macromedia.com/'
    copy.jpg'],bgColor:#1C0F15}");
    fo.write("header");

    Which DW are you using? If 8.0.2 or later, then the 'fix' is
    already built
    in. But the deconcept fix works well too.

    The parameter list you show below was generated by DW? How?

  • Blue Screen at start up, then outline of a white box with ? inside appears.

    My daughter is having a problem with her 13" Macbook. At start up, only a blank blue screen appears, then after a minute or so, a white box outline appears with a question mark inside it. Has anyone ever seen this?

    That folder with the question mark icon means that the MacBook can't find the boot directory. That can either mean it can't find the hard drive or the Operating System data on the hard drive is somehow corrupted.
    Put your install DVD into the optical drive and reboot. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option key until the Install Disk shows up). That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
    When it does start up, you'llsee a panel asking you to choose your language. Just press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it. When it comes up is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
    If it is then click on the Mac OS partition of your hard drive in the left hand list. Then select the First Aid Tab and run Repair Disk. The Repair Disk button won't be available until you've clicked on the Mac OS partition on your hard drive. If that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions.
    If your hard drive isn’t recognized in Disk Utility then your hard drive is probably dead.

  • Ugly white box appears on load

    In the second or two before my flash page appears with normal
    preloader etc, the size of the flash element is always shown a s a
    big white box over the surrounding black page...my background color
    is set to black on both the flash and html page containing it and I
    try to leave first frame clear of elements that would slow
    load...is there an easy fix for this unsightly hiccup to my
    intro?

    Hi John,
    Thanks again for the help. I've tried loading PRE in System Administrator and also in root and the issue does not persist. However, on a day-to-day basis I couldn't run it as Sys Admin or Root as I need to lock down Admin functions because the macs are used at a school.
    I've also run Digital Rebellion's "Pro Maintenance Tools" with no luck.
    The issue seems to be happening at random. Sometimes I'll do a restart and load PRE and it will be fine. Other times the issue will persist. In the console it's also flagging up lots of "Invalid Drawables", should that be a concern?
    Thank you again.

  • Flash buttons don't appear in browser

    I insert a Flash button. It is visible when I preview the
    page in a browser that I access from Dreamweaver. But it does not
    appear visibly when viewed in a browser independently of
    Dreamweaver. A sample of this problem is here:

    I seem, more generally, unable to get any .swf files to
    appear visibly using Macintosh Dreamweaver CD3. I did not have this
    problem using Dreamweaver MX. Can you help me understand what's
    wrong? how to fix this?
    Thanks.

    You mean when you browse to the file LOCALLY and open it with
    the browser?
    This is what you SHOULD get if you are using root relative
    links, since the
    browser has no idea where the root of your site is. In this
    case, you would
    only see that SWF when you browse to it in DW *AND* you have
    enabled preview
    with temp files.
