Flash.desktop.NativeApplication.nativeApplication.activate() + MOUSE_OVER

I'm experimenting with Native D&D in AIR. After I select a file(e.g. in Total Comander) and drag it to my app. Somewhy when I'm dragging a file MOUSE_OVER event do not thrown on movi clips. Can someone explain me why? Thank you

The codes I wrote work for me and I can drop a file on a movieclip (mc1) and t1.text displays "Dropped".

NativeApplication.nativeApplication.exit(); problem in iOS app

Have this function called to exit an iOS app:

          trace('NativeApplication Exit');
          NativeApplication.nativeApplication.exit();
The function is triggered as the listenIO() does its thing and the trace() triggers, but no exit(). Closing the iOS app by the hardware menu button exits but when re-entering the app, it is stll where it was left and I don't have a function to return to a preset state.

One way to get around exit() not working on iOS might be to set the following property in your iPhone section of your app XML:
<iPhone>
          <key>UIApplicationExitsOnSuspend</key>
          <true/>
</iPhone>
That would force your application to exit on suspend (aka the user pressing the hardware button)

Help in flash.desktop.NativeProcess Flex builder 3

I am Using Flex Builder 3(older one), working on AIR Application
when used flash.desktop.NativeProcess , it says
flash.desktop.NativeProcess could not be found
Is it available in Flash builder 4 and higher version

Native Process will be available only for Desktop Applications..And if it Should Work u should change the profile in app.xml...if u change the profile to extended desktop...u will be able to generate only exe file not air

Compiling with Flex 4.0 gives flash.desktop.NativeProcess could not be found

Hello!
I have an ActionScript only Flex project that was written by someone else.
I know it was compiled successfully for Air 2.0
I can compile this project using Flex Hero and with <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.6"> - however, my air file will install only on windows (on mac i get a weird 'installation file is corrupt, contact the author' error message).
So now I want to compile it for Air 2.0 as it was originally written for. So i change the used Flex SDK from Hero to 4.0 and change the target air version to <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.0"> - but then i get three compilation errors:
Description Resource Path Location Type
1061: Call to a possibly undefined method openWithDefaultApplication through a reference with static type flash.filesystem:File.
Description Resource Path Location Type
1172: Definition flash.desktop:NativeProcess could not be found.
Description Resource Path Location Type

but I read that these features were introduced with AIR 2.0 - so how can't I compile if I change the SDK from Flex Hero to Flex 4.0?

Figured it out... Make sure your descriptor file has the following namespace definition!!

Flash Desktop Application - how to update?

Hi all,
I'm trying to put together a flash desktop application. I
want it show each of my .swf's i created, per month ( i.e. january
month plays 1.swf, february plays 2.swf, march plays 3.swf etc.)
how can i code the flash to update automatically or would i
have to use some external codes to accomplish this?
is it even possible to update if it's a desktop application?
any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I'm using Flash 8. As long as the user has Flash installed in
their browser than using the .exe file on the computer has no
issues. I believe that the reason the .exe file is larger than the
.swf is that it contains the necessary information to run the .exe
file whether Flash is installed on the computer or not. I haven't
tested that out yet though.
Adobe's Air actually allows you to install the application. I
haven't been able to play with that as of yet, but I have seen some
people using it and a demo of it.

I just tested the application I have out on a computer
without Flash on it, and it worked fine. So, the reason the .exe
files are so large is because they contain all the requirements to
run a Flash app.

I just tried installing the new AIR 2.0 beta SDK according to the Release Notes. When i tried to create a simple application using the NativeProcess class, i got the following error:
Error #1014: Class flash.desktop::NativeProcess could not be found.
Any ideas?

Does anyone have any idea how to build a Flash desktop
application for windows that basically provides a nice GUI to

SEO with a one-page Flash Desktop site combined with multipage Table & Phone sites

I have an old but very nice Flash site that, like all Flash sites, is only one page of html and therefore not very search engine- friendly (nor, tablet or phone- friendly). I would like to retain this site, but also create, new, multipage, html-optimized, non-Flash Tablet and Phone versions of this site by means of Muse. My question concerns SEO under this circumstance.
(1) Which of the sites will Google crawl to get title tags and content? The one-page Desktop version? The multipage Tablet version? The multipage Phone version? All three? If the latter, all three equally, or does it favor, say the destop version over the phone version?
(2) What about potential Google penalties for duplicate content shared between the three versions of the site?

Thanks for your prompt response, it was very informative. I read through the documents you referenced. I have a couple followup questions, but I suspect they may be a bit more specialized than you may be able to answer (although I think you'll admit they are very worthwhile questions).
(1) In the scenario I outlined above in my first post, the desktop version has next to no html content, while the tablet and phone version have lots of html content. Does the ranking of the desktop version rise or fall on its own merits in the Google rankings (in which case it will fall), or does it rise and fall based on the merits of the total html content in all three versions of the site, including the three sets of title tags?
(2) Should the title tags in all three versions of the website be identical to avoid Google's potential wrath, or will the site rank higher if they are all different from each other?
(What I am secretly wishing for, in case you read between the lines, is to have the ability to boost the Flash desktop version of the site that is only one page with one title tag and viritually no html by means of html rich, multipage Table and Phone versions of the site. Could it be this wish will be fulfilled?)

Those are internal classes not meant for application use. (Thus, there is no documentation available.)

Flash Builder 4.7 activate issue

I buy the flash builder 4.7 and it keeps showing the internet error as i trying to activate the product, i have no idea where i can get the support.

UNICODE AND SECURITY FOR FLASH DESKTOP APPS

I'm presently in the development phase of some desktop applications using Adobe Flash to develop rich interactive apps that include games published in AIR for PCs. Given that I intend to commercialize these products, I have the following requests which you may be able to help provide answers to:
- how do I type texts in unicode characters given that my applications will include texts in my local language of yoruba.
- how best can I integrate security features into my application such that serial numbers or activation keys are required to run them? This is to help ensure that the apps run on per PC basis. This'll also help ensure timed licensing for users.
- how best can I obfuscate my swf files so that they are not easily decompiled or viewable by users in my program files or even by software which can expose the source codes? From experience, I have some AIR published desktop apps installed on my PC yet the swf files are viewable from the program files on my harddrive.
- how can I also protect my ActionScript files from being decompiled?

Freind, I want to make a flash game ,
but it should not be a web based it is a desktop based application !
and the most important part of this is its security .
I want to do the following things
1)-I can copy this game on others pc , but it must be expired after 10 days .
2)-if someone copy it by any unethical way , it must not be opened on his pc a black screen should come
i have wathced a game like that .

Flashing desktop from black to wall paper and disappearing dock

I have an iMac and recently it has started flashing every second between wallpaper and blank screen, the dock also disappears, this makes it very difficult to use, the only way to start an application id via the finder --> Go --> applications. Even though the application will run (very slowly) the desktop continue to flash away behind it. Any idea's

Which model iMac do you have? If under warranty and/or you have AC, call them. Let them deal w/the problem.
Out of warranty:
Set up a test account. Does the problem still show up there?

Flashing Desktop / Finder Loop

Hi,
Any ideas as to the likely cause of the following problem?
On booting my system, the desktop icons and screentop 'finder' bar kept flashing on and off, and the name of my HD icon has changed to 'the'. I was unable to exit the routine, or access anything at all on the system.
I booted in 'safe mode, and was able to access another account. This account worked fine. However, doing this, I was barred from deleting or changing any hard-drive content on either account... my passwords not being recognised.
I was unable to fix the problem by booting with Drive Genius or Discwarrior.
In the end, I re-installed osx and the problem has reolved for now!
I presume something in the system was missing, but not sure what. Any ideas?

Most likely cause would be a corrupt Finder plist file. This caused the finder to crash, then as it does, the finder restarted, then crashed again, then restarted and so on.
You could use the Terminal or Single User mode to solve the problem, or alternatively having a utility like QuickSilver or LaunchBar might have allowed you to navigate to the home / library / preferences folder and trash the plist file, forcing the Finder to recreate it.

[Solved] On open lid screen flashes desktop then blanks

Hello fellow archers, I've been dealing with the following nagging issue:
On open lid my desktop flashes for a few brief seconds then the screen goes blank. I have to type or use the touchpad to get my desktop again.
I believe something in Gnome settings is the origin of this problem because:
- I have 2 users running Gnome and on the second user I do not have this issue.
- On the user with this issues by stopping gnome-settings-daemon momentarily the issues is resolved.
gnome-settings-daemon depends on gsettings-desktop-schemas which leads me to believe maybe some setting got mucked up somehow.
I recently updated Gnome so there may be some connection to that.
Anywho, any help is appreciate

I think I've solved the issue for now, by putting
the pm-suspend command in the lid event in the /etc/acpi/handler.sh
and added the laptop monitor off "script" in /etc/acpi/actions/lm_lid.sh as described in
