Flash in Firefox with Vista Ultimate Works a while then stops working until restart

I recently got a new computer with Vista Ultimate. I
downloaded all the patches and installed the latest versions of
Firefox (2.0.0.4) & Flash Player (9.0.45.0). I have the
following add-ons loaded in Firefox: Firebug 1.05, Greasemonkey
0.7.20070607.0), Tab Mix Plus (0.3.6), Talkback (2.0.0.4), DOM
Inspector (1.8.1.4). This is the process that happens.
1) Connect to the computer in questoin using RDP
2) Launch Firefox and go to a site like Youtube or MySpace.
It works great. Everything plays that I click on.
3) Disconnect from RDP and reconnect.
4) The Flash plays never work again. They will typically
start a show for 2-10 seconds and then just "halt". This is every
movie I view off of either YouTube or MySpace. Even if I close the
Myspace & YouTube tabs and open them in a new clean tab.
If I close Firefox and reopen it everything starts working
again. Again this appears to work until I disconnect from RDP
again.
What is going wrong here? What can I do to fix this or upload
data dumps so this can get fixed?

seriously, invest in a new hitachi travelstar 320gb for 49 bucks from that tiger place online and a usb hard drive caddy, pop in your free clonezilla cd and your rescue and recovery problems will be over!
after reading all the problems with that software i figured my data was too valuble to get caught in that mess so for under 75 bucks problem solved and i rid my w500 of that bloatware. even cheaper then ordering the recovery disks from lenovo.
working on getting rid of the rest of the useless software now.
hey question, how do you use the switchable graphics on the w500 with vista ultimate without the power manager software? if you can thats next!!

That's because you are asking a T500/W500 question in the Thinkvantage forum. Anyway, the answer to your question is in this thread.
ATI recently started packaging their switchable graphics driver together with their regular Catalyst. So downloading their latest driver Catalyst 9.4 from the ATI/AMD site and then modifying it with the Mobility Modder will allow you to use switchable graphics without the power manager. The little problem is just that the released version of the Mobility Modder stopped working with Catalyst 9.2 and you are on your own getting a modified Modder working on 9.4, see here.
So I decided not to make more work for myself staying on a modded Catalyst 9.1 and for the time being living without switchable graphics.

T61 with Vista Ultimate WON'T replicate CD/DVD like R61 with XP Professional - - - HOW DO I DO THIS?

Tried to copy a CD on new T61 with Vista Ultimate preloaded. Did this with no problems on an R61 with XP Professional. The HELP files say to copy all data to a directory and then copy them to a blank CD. This is NOT what I want or need. It also mentions that OTHER software to do this may be obtainable. I KNOW that Lenove uses ROXIO in its CMD line interface as a brand new system gave me the BSOD when inserting a video DVD and Windows Media Player coughed and died. Took about 3 hours to return to factory settings on a machine I had just customized. Is this another "feature" from Microsoft or what? Can you load ROXIO or other software to DUPLICATE CDs and DVDs. Have the dual layed DVD/CD RW slim ultrabay drive. Who makes this drive anyway?

Will any Creative MP3/Video Players Work With Vista Ultimate/Yahoo Music Out of the B

i've had a heck of a time getting my zen touch to work with my new vista ultimate dell pc, almost ready to give up. why i'm even thinking of getting another creative device given the above i'm not sure, but if i was, do any of the current devices (20gb or greater, mostly for music but want video capabilities) work with vista and yahoo music correctly and without a huge amount of heartache? and if not, any other devices i should look at? i really like the yahoo music service so don't want to go the apple route. thx!

iTunes is only intended for iPods and iPhones. In recent releases, Apple has instituted changes that prevent it from being used with other devices, e.g. release 8.2.1 deliberately broke the ability to sync with the Palm Pre.
Since you will be using multiple platforms, make sure that all music that your rip or purchase is in MP3 format. Then your music can be used in iTunes, Creative, or any other player or program, without conversion or compatibility problems.

Shortcut [ALT]+[SHIFT]+[P] doesnt work with Vista ultimate??!

when i try to create a new position key frame in the time line, i always used the shortcut [ALT]+[SHIFT]+[P]. on other versions before Vista it was working perfectly.
on the Vista ultimate though, instead of creating a key frame, i get the windows "mediaplayer" loading up, every time i use this shortcut.
i looked for this shortcut to change within media player, but couldn't find it.
is there a way to change the shortcut inside after effects?
i am using after effect CS3.
all other shortcuts (like [ALT]+[SHIFT]+[J] or [ALT]+[SHIFT]+[S]) are working fine...

Go to the start/Windows button, click and in the search box type "Windows Media Player." DON'T select the icon (thereby opening the application).
INSTEAD, right click the icon for the media player and choose "Properties." You will see a box for shortcut...just delete the one that's there and it will now show as "None."

I have the same problem with Vista home premium. I've tried every driver possibilities, I reinstalled the original disks and then the Vista beta drivers and my card still isn't being recognized. My computer can play sound but all of the advanced features of my sound card are unavailable.

Acrobat 9 Pro Extended(Vista Ultimate) Data Execution Prevention-program stops working.

Imac 24 3.06 file sharing with a pc with vista ultimate

I can not see my shared files on my Imac since loading vista ultimate before when I had Xp it worked ok. I am pretty sure the problem is with the pc side. Please help

I would not disable it if I did not have other firewall software installed. I use Norton on my XP box and you can set Norton Firewall to allow certain machines only for certain purposes...a more granular setup. I don't have a Vista box here so I can't say how configurable the firewall is on Vista. I have one at my office and if I find the time, I will play around with it and see if I can come up with something.

Macbook with vista ultimate virtual machine

I have checked the forums of the virtual machine I have called Virtualbox. I installed Vista Ultimate on my macbook and am liking it so far but i cannot seem to get the internet to work. When i look in my preferences pane in Virtualbox it tells me to choose between "none" or Nat. I choose NAT but i still cannot connect. please if anyone has any answers as to where i can get a driver for vista for my wireless card in my late 2007 Macbook.

I'm running a late '07 MB with Parallels and Vista Home Premium. To be truthful, I don't load Vista very often. However, from the get-go, my internet connections worked immediately after I installed Vista with the default setup.
I'm not familiar with Virtualbox. I just googled it and it appears to be a new program with perhaps not the support you need.
Have you given any thought to trying BookCamp? I don't know if that would require another installation of Vista or not. I'm guessing it probably would.

Cannot get iPod touch going with Vista Ultimate

iTunes gives me a message that the iPhone only works with 32 bit versions of XP or Vista. I have Vista Ultimate on my laptop, which is 32 bit.
Does anyone have any suggestions. I cannot get this thing going....

Well what does the system panel say under the control panel? Should tell you on label "System Type"
64-Bit is not supported. Not sure why since iTunes knows the iPod is there. iTunes thinks its a iPhone instead though.

MCE remote with Vista Ultimate T60

Hello there. new to this community and want to see if it can help with this question.
At the moment im tryin to get my IR reciver on the t60 laptop to work with media center in vista ultimate. I have my mce remote that i used with my xp mce pc. it is an HP MCE remote.
no longer have the pc. just a laptop.
and well i want to use hte remote with Media center in vista when feeling lazy.
I have tried to make it detect and it wont communicate. the IR is enabled and works with my old PDA and the remote works on my roomies HP laptop.
Any ideas? random thoughts???

How about Value Added Package? There is a new version available. Try to update this too.
But back to the basics the Qosmio F30-131 belongs to the PQF30E series. Did you choose the drivers for this series?
However, this notebook was delivered and preinstalled with Win MCE. Possible this remote control works only with XP version of Windows Media Center.

Acrobat 9 Pro not compatible with Vista Ultimate

I am running Vista Ultimate and have Acrobat 9 Pro. When I print and choose "Adobe PDF Converter" as my printer I get the following error:

Message title: Test Page.pdf Adobe Acrobat Pro
Program path: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat9.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.dll

This problem happens because of partial incompatibility with Windows Vista. Please contact the program of device manufacturer(s) for more information.
Once I acknowledge this the new .pdf file appears.

I am having the same problem in Windows 7, did Adobe ever come up with a solution.
We recently upgraded our systems to Windows 7. Since the upgrade, the 'interactive services detection' dialog box opens every time I create a PDF file (I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro). Is there any way to correct this? Acrobat used to open when the file was created (WinXP), now I get the 'isd' box. It creates the file, but the dialog box comes up asking me to view the message. It takes me away from my desktop to view the file (goes to black screen and then displays the file) and I have to close the file in order to get back to my desktop (black screen then back to desktop). I was able to disable it by going into printer preferences and unchecking 'view adobe pdf results', but I would really like to be able to view my PDF's when they are created. (We had Adobe Acrobat Reader X installed initially on the system and then installed the full version of Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, using AAP9 as the default program for pdf's. I don't remember if this problem has been occurring since we installed the full version or after Reader X was uninstalled (program was acting funny, so we uninstalled.) Any suggestions are appreciated.

just purchased a thinkpad tablet pc with preinstalled vista ultimate and wanna downgrade to xp. where can i get the xp install cds?
im in germany.
and is it possible i get the vista ultimate recovery cd from lenovo 'cause the recovery is only on the hard disk.

You have to burn yourself a set of recovery media using an external dvd burner. Downgrade wise, you will have to call Lenovo and see whether you are still eligible for a downgrade, which you must pay a service and handling charge.
But if you are using tablet, i suggest you stay with Vista, as the XP tablet edition is not that great.
