Flash Lite vs. or in conjunction with device central

Hi,
I've used flashLite quite a lot in the past and i find that
mobile phones just arent good enough to keep up with the quality of
content that flashLite can provide, does device centre do anything
to help this?
Can someone give me the low down on the point of device
centre, you can already emulate phones in Flash pro 8....so i cant
see the advantage.
regards
Greg

Device Central:
1) Uses only phones that have Flash Lite pre-installed
2) Emulates speed of each handset differently
3) Change the time, date, signal strength, and remaining
battery of the phone on the fly
4) Emulate different lighting conditions
5) Calculates memory consumption
etc...

The same swf file runs on Nokia devices with sound in the background. And with no sound at all, on Sony Ericsson devices.
It's a flash lite 1.1 file. There is no ActionScript involved, just an MP3 file dragged in to a frame on stage.
    What do I do wrong?

only check your device profile in device central. if your setting not wrong,it is maybe working

You need to package the swf into a nokia sis installtion or
    wgz widget.

(Quick explanation) I have dreamweaver cs6, I created an android app, a run the emulator and everything seems to be ok with the app, I download the .apk and everything ok so far, but when i wanted to upload it to Google Play i need to sign it, but I search all the web somehow to sign it and i did not find anything to sign an app made with dreamweaver and Phonegap, just those made with Eclipse.
    My question:
Is there anyway to export driectly from Dreamweaver to Eclipse as a project? so i can export it and sign it...
if Not, How can i convert those html files made with dreamweaver to Eclipse files, so I can use Eclipse to sign and generate the keystore file

  • Flash lite 3.1 not available for windows device?

Hi! Can anybody help me here?
I've been developing stand alone flash apps for windows mobiles with flash lite 2.1 with no problems!
The company I'm developing for has switched to Vodafone V1520's (Asus p550) running windows mobile 6 Professional.
I've ran flash lite 2.1 with no problems on the device. I've decided to upgrade to 3.1 as it's a fresh install for all 2000 units.
My problem is, When I install the app using Adobe mobile packager, the device comes back with the error " Adobe flash lite is not available for this device"!! I know flash lite 2.1 works.
Is there a way to manually install 3.1 on the device?

You can download the player at the following URL:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/distributableplayer.html
Please be aware that you need to use the Mobile Packager to use this version of the runtime for applications.  It's also worth pointing out that your device should be compatible, we do not recommend installing it on unsupported devices.
We have a new version of the packager 1.1 here:

  • Valid device, valid country - Sorry adobe flash lite is not available

    Hi
I am in South Africa (Vodacom) and using Nokia N95 8GB (latest nokia firmware)
I have tried installing Flash Lite 3.1 developer edition (but all I get when installing is version 3.0.1(0) on installation. Also not showing in my application folder.
So I download Adobe Distributable Player 1.1 (from: http://www.flashmobileblog.com/2009/06/18/distributable-player-exansion-29-countries/ and http://www.flashmobileblog.com/2009/06/11/adobe-mobile-packager-1-1/)
Finally get it installed (SDK and perl 100%)
So load the "unsigned" SIS file on my phone via Nokia PC Suite
    Run Application
Needs to connect to Internet (Internet.GRPS access point) to check version
    FAIL.
At this stage I am not happy with Adobe. I follow all the steps, know that my country is listed, have all the right software installed and NOTHING.
Please explain to me what else I can do to get a working applicaiton on my N95 8Gb on Vodacom network in South Africa?

    Hi Mucatron
I did download you fanbase applicaiton.
Ok here are the messages I get
    1) Open Application:  fanbase needs Adobe Flash Lite to run. Continue?
    2) Adobe Version Checker - Internet.GRPS (default Vodacom APN)
    3) Sorry Adobe Flash Lite is not Available for this device
    I have a Nokia N95 8GB
    V31.0.015
    07-11-08
    RM-320
I also downloaded the application from here http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/distributableplayer/distributableplayer_flashlite_ s60_en.sis and installed via Nokia PC Suite
It shows version 3.0.1(0) when installing, BUT I can't find where it installed to (not under applications)
So I can't manually load any new SWF files.
Please give me more advice please?

  • Is anyone looking to integrate more (non-Flash Lite) devices into ADC?

Every device in ADC supports Flash Lite. But scores of
unrepresented devices support wallpapers or video. I'm sure
everyone who designs for the enormous mobile phone
wallpaper market would love to streamline the workflow from
Photoshop or Illustrator into the various supported wallpaper
formats. I'm sure the same goes for Premier users and the peculiar
format and frame rate concerns mobile presents.
Wallpaper and video dimensions (as well as file types... also
frame rates and audio codecs for video) are all over the map and
supporting the widest possible number of handsets is critical,
particularly for a wireless carrier like Verizon. Most
handset/carrier combinations throughout the world will allow you to
send a link to a 600x600 jpeg and everything works out fine. The
wireless carrier allows their customer to surf to pretty much any
link. The phone scales the image or video automatically. Nobody
gets hurt. But Verizon (and some others) are particularly nasty,
requiring an on-the-fly decision as to whether the phone supports
the content at all based on whether the user agent profile is on
your 'VIP list' of supported handsets.
Is anyone interested in making a more robust device directory
with handset data that is significant to wallpaper/ringtone/video
content producers? Is this already being done? Is there a cheap and
easy way to take the XML in
    WURFL and turning it into
the format ADC reads (as outlined in Anant Parekh's excellent
    article
    here?
    dotMobi is also
    building a mobile phone
database. That would probably be an even more reliable source
    for device capabilities than WURFL.
If anyone knows if the above is being pursued, is possible,
or sounds interesting, please feel free to contact me at
TOMatGIMMEMOBILE.COM. I'd love to hear some thoughts.

    Ciao Tom,
I am one of the contributor for Flash Lite in WURFL. I
understand what you mean but I see it difficult to include all
those infos into ADC, or at least a major effort.
I agree with you that it would be a great addition to ADC
which will be used not only by FL developers but by mobile
    developers in general.
Also I would like to invite you to join the Mobile and Device
    User Group of Boston, www.flashmobilegroup.org

  • Serious bugs in Flash Lite 2.1

I've noticed some pretty serious problems when when working
with Flash Lite 2.1 on on a device, on a device simulator, and on
the Flash 8 emulator. There were no Object watches or any other
kind of behind-the-scenes mayhem when I found these bugs. Here's
just a small list of issues that have gone wrong (among other
    things):
    1. The Number data type is flaky at best. When doing a
trace() on a variable of type Number, the value will change from
signed to unsigned depending on what was done with the variable
even if the actual contents haven't changed. For example I tried
doing a bitwise OR on a Number that had 0xFFFFFFFF in it, and the
interpretation switched from unsigned to signed.
    2. It seems that when I do an add 0 to a _y member of one of
my MovieClips the contents of my movie EXPAND AND SKEW to extreme
extents. I don't even know how this is possible, because nowhere in
my application do I modify _width/_height, or any scale property
values of ANY MovieClip objects (only read them).
    3. When testing my app on a device (LG VX8000), Flash Lite
began IGNORING certain core language operations (adding / creating
an empty movie clip / etc..) RANDOMLY if I start mashing keys fast
enough (happens sometimes even if I don't mash keys).... operations
which work 100% of the time in the Flash 8 device emulator both
with a low and high FPS rate.
    4. When retrieving _y and _height properties of a MovieClip,
in certain places these properties were INTERCHANGED WITH EACH
OTHER if I didn't add trace() calls to print their values before
hand. Taking out the trace() calls caused the values to continue
    being swapped.
These are pretty serious issues that are making my app
unstable all around. My application is entirely based on the basics
of ActionScript 2.0. I can assure people reading this that the
problems are not because of bugs within my application. Has anyone
come across any of these problems before? Can anyone at Adobe
    provide information or workarounds/support.
It's a shame to see such huge bugs in the Flash Lite
    VM.

    Hello,
I'm the PM for Flash Lite, and thank you for your interest in
    our products.
Let me clarify the purpose of the Windows Mobile 5 release of
Flash Lite. As you are aware, we license Flash Lite to our OEM
customers so that they may integrate Flash Lite into their mobile
phones. Flash 7 SDK is not targeted at regular mobile phones - just
    the pocketPC.
There are differences between Flash Lite and Flash Player 7
in that FP7 supports video and Flash Lite 2.1 does not. this is the
most fundamental difference between the two.
If you are building content that you expect will run not only
on PocketPC, but other mobile phones as well, then FL2.1 for WM5 is
a good starting place to test and try out your content because when
OEMs ship phones with Flash Lite 2.1 already preinstalled, your
    content is "good to go".
Flash Lite 2.1 authoring is supported as an "add on" to the
Flash 8 authoring tool. Please check out our Flash 8 tool section
    on Adobe.com here
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/devices/
    - select the Flash Lite 2.1 for Flash Professional 8.
You will need to use Flash 8 authoring with update for Flash
Lite 2.1 to create/author your content.
CDK = Content Development Kit - contains tips, samples etc.
Flash Player 7 SDK - this is a kit not for developers, but
for companies that may want to embed Flash Player 7 into their
devices such as set top boxes or game consoles. We give these
customers source code of the Flash 7 player.
The Flash Player 7 for PocketPC will play back Flash 7 and
    prior versions of Flash content.
I would encourage you to read up on more of our online
resources and as you get more familiar with Flash, you will
definitely see that it is a very compelling application development
platform and join the thousands of other flash developers.
    best regards,
    Vinay

  • Basic interaction 'standalone player' Flash Lite

I am trying to create a simple interactive menu with Flash
    Lite.
(for example a click on a soft key will bring a blue full
    screen frame....)
I am a beginner when it comes to cell phone content, but I
understand that it is doable with flash lite. Thing is my Nokia
device (6131) is not in the device list of the flash menu, and I am
unable to upload to the device flash applications. (I can upload
swf if it's a wallpaper but then i loose the interactivity)
My question is; if I will have a device that is in the
'device list' of Flash Lite, will I then be able to upload the swf
as a standalone application? am I doing the right thing?
another question is, other then the Adobe sites, where can I
find more example files in the subject of basic interactive menus
    for Nokia?

    quote:
Thing is my Nokia device (6131) is not in the device list of
the flash menu, and I am unable to upload to the device flash
applications. (I can upload swf if it's a wallpaper but then i
    loose the interactivity)
The latest device profile update from Adobe included the
6131, but a particular phone doesn't need to have a profile in the
emulator for you to be able to develop for it.
Once you've connected your 6131 with your PC (either via the
USB cable or bluetooth), you can browse the phone's file system via
My Computer if you have the Nokia PC Suite installed, and can copy
a swf to whatever folder is available. You can then find that
folder via the 'Gallery' menu option on the phone and run the swf,
which will run in standalone mode.

  • Flash Lite 4

I have question In your opinion, will be Flash Lite 4 avaliable for smartphones with OS symbian 9??
I know that Flash Lite is developed by Adobe but I have not any idea why it cannot be also for symbian 9,3 and 9,4 users, but I can't get rid of the feeling that they won't do it....
It can rapidly change mobile browsing and bring new features into Symbian 9 devices...

  • Flash player for Device central

Every time i try to preview a page in device central
i get a message saying i need a flash player plugin. I click on ok
and it takes me to adobe site that has download links for flash
player 9. I have downloaded it 3 times now and i keep getting the
same message. I cant view flash content on my pages with device
central. I have a new IMac with Leapord 10.5.2

Yes, we're well aware that Firefox on Win8.1 is not the most stable choice.  You're far better off with IE or Chrome on Win8.1 at the moment.  There's no magic bullet there, and we're collaborating with Mozilla to resolve the long-standing issues on that config.
The work in Flash Player for this effort is in the current shipping version, but they depend on Firefox 40 or higher (nightly.mozilla.org) and the latest Flash Player beta (http://www.adobe.com/go/flashplayerbeta).  You should see some improvement on that config, but you also get a bunch of experimental Firefox features, so there are no guarantees.  It would be interesting to know if you see an improvement there.

  • OTA of Flash Lite Player doesn't work for HTC Touch Pro 2

When I tried to run a Flash Lite app in HTC Touch Pro 2, it asked for Flash Lite player to run it. I clicked Yes. It returned a message: Adobe Flash Lite is not available for this device. OTA installation didn't work in this case. I then manually installed the standalone player and it installed successfully. My operator is Telstra in Australia.

    Hi,
Your device will not be detected because it is unsupported by the detection server.  Of course the manual installation is possible but right now we are certifying devices that can be supported.
You can see the supported devices here, needless to say however we are working on a plan to expand this set:
