Flash movie is repeating in safari browser

Have inserted a flash movie into a web page using dreamweaver. Have exported the flash movie out as window mode = transparent.
have made the <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> tags. Works ok on most browsers except Safari. It seems to repeat the movie vertically (well just a few pixels of it. Is there any way to constrict the Flash object tag so it does not repeat vertically in Safari?

  • Controlling where flash movie loads on a web  browser

I want to have the index page for my site open with a flash
movie on top of the rest of the content of the page at a set pixel
distance from the top of the page and centered horizontally in
relation to the browser. I have been able to make this work with an
absolute location using CSS elements in Dreamweaver and the
equivalent of what used to be layers. It all works as long as the
position of the layer is absolute, and your monitor settings are
pretty standard. Otherwise the flash plays on the left:
    http://www.iconoclastic.net/metaphordogs/index.html
When I try to make it a relative location, it moves to the
top of the browser. When I try to make it relative to a table, it
displaces the table content rather than playing over it.
    Any assistance would be appreciated

  • How can I remove the thin black border of Flash movie when viewed in a browser?

There is a thin border at the top and left margins of my Flash movie when the .html is viewed in a browser. How can it be removed?
    Here's the movie.
One solution suggests replacing some code, but the code they suggest replacing doesn't even exist in my html file.
I have found questions similar to mine being asked all over different forums, but their solutions either don't work, or like the above, don't really apply. For such a common problem, finding the solution is getting a little frustrating.
I'm using Flash CS3 on a Windows PC rrunning XP professional.

Okay, I found the answer. It turns out that when I made the buttons in Flash (so the movie would have clickable links), the default stroke color was set to black. Change it to white and the outline is gone.
As for appearing only on the top and left of the movie - for some reason the bottom and right is being cropped a bit when it's placed in to the html page. But that's a topic for a different discussion.

  • How to permanently disable this message: "Press Esc to exit full screen." (by Adobe Flash Player) in Mac's Safari Browser?

    Hello everyone,
I have been searching for sometime (without any success) for a solution to permanently remove this annoying message: "Press Esc to exit full screen."
Whenever I go to full screen mode, watching any video on YouTube, BBC, CNN (or many other websites which use Adobe Flash Player for streaming video) I have to bare seeing this message for several seconds until it fades away. Seeing this message once or twice would have been okay, but as we all watch many videos on a daily basis on internet, after weeks, months and now years seeing this message over and over again many times every day, it becomes very annoying, and I find myself rewinding many videos to their beginning after this message fades away to be able to watch it from the beginning without anything obstructing it!
Does anyone know how to "permanently" disable this message from appearing?
I am using the latest version of Safari 6.0 on the latest version of OS X (Mountain Lion 10.8.1), and have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (Plug-in version 11.4.402.265) installed on my new MacBook Pro 15" with Retina Display.
    Thanks,
    Ally

    Thanks Carolyn,
I am attaching a screenshot here for you to see that this setting was already set to what you suggested. I didn't need to change it as it was like this even before I post this message.
So the problem still presists and unfortunately your suggestion is not a solution to this probelm.
Last night I did more reseach and found a discussion in Adobe website, it seems a lot of other people have the same issue, and even started a discussion in Adobe website about it. But unfortunately Adobe refuses to address it and enable the end user at least to have an option to turn this message off from displaying permanently on his/her computer.
I am writing down the url links for the two posts regarding this issue on Adobe's website:
    Link #1: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/921270
    Link #2: https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3058752
Hopefully more people will get involved and ultimately we will either get Adobe's attention, or someone will find a "hack" and post it here for all of us. I have found some suggested "hacks" for Windows environment (you can simply google it, I am sure you will find them too). But so far I haven't seen anything for Mac's Safari browser.
    Cheers,

  • Scaling My Flash Movie Proportionally To Fit Any Browser

    Hi,
    Thanks for any help.
I am trying to make my flash site scale to the browser size, just like this site: http://www.flashcomponents.net/upload/samples/1213/index.html?full=true
The reason is because I want to design for bigger screens (that most of us have) yet still be able to view my website on small monitors i.e. 800 x 600.
I don't think I want a 'liquid/fluid' layout (as mentioned in many tutorials) because they can compromise the design aesthetic if browser window is too big or small.
I just want the movie to shrink or grow proportionally with the browser. I would also like it to stop growing beyond the dimensions that I build the flash movie- to avoid losing bitmap quality.
I currently have my flash centered in the browser with fixed dimensions. What settings do I need to change in Flash or Dreamweaver to make this happen? Also, if you have any comments or criticisms about this type of layout please do mention it. I have found only one issue with this layout - it does not zoom in when you press "command & +", but other flash sites do.
    Thank you!

    Hi animated_cloud.
In all honesty, I dont think you should create a scalable template if you will be using bitmap images in your movie. On the other hand, if you will be using vector images, or dinamically drawn content within your movie, then making it scale is fine.  But this is up to you! =)
ok. first off, you should go check in your File ---> Publish Settings. In the SWF Tab you should see scaling options. You should play around with some of these to understand what each do.
Have a look through those settings, and if you cant find what you want come back and we'll go from there.
    good luck.

  • Automatic scale of Flash movie to fit different screen/browser sizes

    Hi guys,
I am a mid level Flash user. I have a online portfolio site which I have had running for around 4 years.
The site at the moment is in its 4th incarnation as I keep growing tired of the layout and design and keep striving to improve it visually. The previous designs have always been at the standard 800x600px or slightly bigger. So when viewed on the majority of different screen sizes and browsers the site was always fully visible at 100%.
For the latest redesign I've opted for a much larger site size of 1024x768px. This is obviously alot clearer for the user and looks great when viewed on a 19" monitor and above. I for example have a 27" iMac so the site in my opinion looks great.
The problem I have is when the site is viewed on a smaller screen 17" and below, laptops etc. Due to the size of my Flash site if I view it on a laptop screen the side and bottom scroll bars obviously appear on the browser. I want to know if there is anyway that I can publish the Flash site so that whenever the site is viewed on whatever sized screen or browser it is always seen at 100% without scrollbars.
I have played about with the publish settings but can't seem to find a way to do this. I have also downloaded SWFFit (Flash Fit) but i'm not sure whether this will do the trick?
My site can be viewed at:
    www.nineteeneightyone.co.uk
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

I was a little confused when you mentioned wanting to "scale" the site and then you mentioned that "the site was always fully visible at 100%".
Now I understand that when you say 100%, you simply meant that all of the site was visible at the same time... no scrolling needed.
"whenever the site is viewed on whatever sized screen or browser it is always seen at 100% without scrollbars".
By this I assume you mean that the site is fully visible? not that you want to view the site at !00%... correct?
Typically when discussing Flash scaling, 100% mean 100% of the browser window, and has nothing to do with how much of the site is visible inside that window.
When looking at Flash scaling, there are a number of things to consider, width, height, aspect ratio, and the use/no use of scrollbars.
Using a size of 1024 X 768 is a good example of a size that will require scrollbars or downscaling in order to display in a Web browser on a  1024 X 768 monitor. A 1024 X 768 will only display about 1000px or less in width and of course with the Web browser address bars etc, a height of 600 or so would be more realistic. So by default, the size requires both horizontal and vert scroll bars when viewed on a 1024 X 768 monitor.
So what would be required to display the entire site without scrollbars? Well in this case, since only 600 px in height are available, the height has to be downscaled about 78% of the original height... so to maintain the same aspect ratio (the ratio of width to height), then the width was also be downscaled to about 78% or original or about 800 px wide... OK that's fine, but because the monitor is about 1000px wide, there will now be about 100 px unused space on the right and the left.
By default, Flash likes to maintain that aspect ratio, so that round things stay round and square things stay square. It just means that as you increase or decrease width or height, the corresponding dimension will also change.. decrease height.. and width decreases also.
Here is an old post that illustrates Flash scaling and how aspect ratio can be maintained or distorted:
Here are examples of different scaling parameters available in the Publish settings. You can also add these parameters directly in the html (<param name="scale" value="noscale"). All the examples replace the actual Flash dimensions with 100% for both width and height (width="100%" height="100%"). These examples use the old <object> and <embed> to illustrate the different ways to scale Flash. Once you understand how it works I’d recommend that you use swfobject to place the Flash in your final project.
View the source code for each page to see the full code.
    http://www.cidigitalmedia.com/tutorials/scale/exact_fit.html
"exactFit" scales the file to fit exactly within the confines of the screen, irregardless if the movie becomes consequently distorted. The original aspect ratio is not maintained. So round things are not round and squares are not square.
    http://www.cidigitalmedia.com/tutorials/scale/noScale.html
"noScale" is the default setting, and causes the movie to be displayed at the originally designed dimensions.
    http://www.cidigitalmedia.com/tutorials/scale/no_border.html
"noBorder" causes the movie to be scaled to what ever dimensions are needed to have no border surrounding the movie within the player, which consequently could result in some of the movie being cut off from view. In other words, the movie will maintain the original aspect ratio and will fill the screen completely. But if the movie has to be streched wider to fill both sides of the screen, it will also stretch taller, but then some of the top and the bottom of the movie may be cut off from view.
    http://www.cidigitalmedia.com/tutorials/scale/show_all.html
"showAll" scales the movie to the size of the screen (which could cause pixelation if the file contains raster information), the difference between showAll and exactFit is that showAll mantains initial movie size proportions. Because it maintains the original aspect ratio, there can be space to the sides or the top and bottom. But everything always shows and they are not distorted. But notice the photo in the center, it becomes pixilated at larger screen resolutions.
The trickiest part of trying to go full screen is that it’s difficult to make the Flash wider without making it taller also, that is, to maintain the correct proportions or aspect ratio of everything on the stage. These methods are just simple scaling accomplished with html. There are also methods to dynamically scale the stage and it’s elements using Actionscript… but that’s a much more complex undertaking.

  • Getting rid of a "download" icon appearing in Safari browser Flash Player

Please HELP!! I've inserted two screen shots to demonstrate what I'm trying to get rid of. Some months ago I downloaded the Free Video Downloader for Mac from here:
    http://www.iskysoft.com/free-mac-video-downloader.html
I'm stuck with a very annoying "Download" icon that POPS UP TOP LEFT when I mouse-hover on any and all Flash Player content on my Safari browser. I'm on Mac OS10.5.8. This is ONLY happening on my Safari browser. Not on Firefox or Chrome. I downloaded a Flash Video downloader for Safari months ago. I've deleted ALL traces of the app. I've been everywhere in my system Library - Application Support - Safari folders - etc, I've looked everywhere. Updating Flash Player makes no difference. Clearing all data in the Flash Player System Preferences interface does not get rid of it. Clearing the entire Safair cache does not get rid of it. Re-installing Safari does not get rid of it. I've tried anything and everything I can think of and I've run out of ideas! Short of wiping my hard drive and re-installing Leopard which I do not want to do, I'm stumped. Every time I hover my mouse over Flash content - I'm STILL stuck with this highly annoying "Download" icon in the top left corner of all Safari Browser Flash content. Can anyone PLEASE help me get rid of it. Many thanks!!  NT

I am having exactly the same problem. Have trawled the internet for solutions and can't find one yet. Please can there be someone clever enough out there to fix this? It's driving me insane... Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

  • Safari browser problematic

I have a treo 700p phone that I use all the time to read the paper online, I am also a pro photographer, so I bought the ipod touch for a better web browsing experience when at home (where I use the treo all the time) and also as a way to display my portfolio to clients. I have not used it for photographs yet but the browser is not user-friendly. Why does it not automatically adjust the CSS scripts to fit the window at a preset magnification level where you can read the text? The treo does this and it works great. If we could at least have this as an option, we wouldn't constantly be pinching our screens to make out the text.
Also, using my very fast dsl connection, the safari browser is not any faster than my treo, which uses verizon's EV/DO connection (which I know is way slower than the dsl because I can connect my laptop to the internet using the treo). Why is the safari browser so sluggish?
Finally, like everybody else out there, I am disappointed to see this release without a concurrent rollout of flash support for the mobile safari browser.
How do other people find the speed and usability of the browser on the ipod touch?

    Speed is great here.
Home: Cable, 6Mb down, 1Mb up.
Office: DSL, 10Mb down, 2Mb up.
    Works very fast.
Usability, my eyes are getting older.
    I wish I could save a magnification level, page-to-page.
    Would love contextual-menu support.
    Otherwise, Flash, I don't care.

  • Unloading a flash movie using Safari browser

I have MAC 10.4 and safari 2.0 browser.I run a flash movie(Instruction.swf) and after that the actual test for the student run.So while running The first movie i.e Instruction.swf I am not able to unload that movie using javascript in Safari 2.0 browser so that the actual test can run.It just hang up after finishing the movie. While in the other Mac and windows it is working fine.
    Please Help me.
    Thanks In Advance.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Do you mean to say, in other Mac and Windows web browsers it is working fine? If that's the case, it sounds like the version of Flash plugin used by the Safari plugin is probably older than the one used by the other web browsers.
With Safari Enhancer's enabling of the Debug menu you can force certain webpages to open in other web browsers. That would help streamline your viewing of those pages.
    http://www.lordofthecows.com/safari_enhancer.php
You can also enable the Debug menu with:
    defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1
    from the Terminal.

  • Why does flash no longer work in viewing SnagFilms or Hulu under Safari Browser but still works for Netflix.  And, where can I receive directions on how to install the PPAPI Plug In for Flash Player for Maverick 10.9.4.

Until recently, I was able to watch both SnagFilms and Hulu within the Safari Browser successfully.  In both movie sites, I no longer get video and am asked to download Adobe Flash Player (which I already have 14.0.0.125) but my system indicates that Plug-In PPADI has not been installed?  Where to go to find this correct download?  When consulting with SnagFilms and Hulu, it was recommended that I download and watch in the Chrome Browser, which is successful.  However, I don't like the idea that I must run a second browser to do stuff on my Mac.  I don't have any issues with watching films under Safari within Netflix.  I am so confused.  What about the security issues with respect to running google products--do I need to be concerned if this is the only method for accessing my movie sites.

The problem is that your Flash Player is not current. Check this to see what the current version is (vs what you have) and here to get the latest version. There is supposed to be a major security issue in the version you've got so Apple is blocking its use. In any case, don't get Flash Player from anywhere except Adobe.

  • Slow Flash movies in Safari and Firefox

This issue started right after the software update of Safari 3.2.1 (from 3.2). I'm totally lost, because it does not make any sense to me. The performance on Flash websites with either Safari or Firefox, is extremely slow and stuttering. Fade-ins and outs are no longer smooth, I can even HEAR their "calculating".
What confuses me most is the fact that watching my self-created Flash movies as swf files is perfectly fast and smooth. As soon as they are being viewed in a browser, local on the computer or on a web server, they are slow.
Here's what I already did, and it got somewhat better, but not back to how it was before the software update:
    - reset safari, empty cache.
    - uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Adobe Flash Player plug in.
    - repair disk permissions
    - add DNS codes
    - I even upgraded the RAM's to the PB's max of 2GB
Anybody got any ideas? I was thinking it might be the video card. But why would the Flash movie show smooth as an swf file but not in a browser?? And why was everything OK before the update?
I read that the video card is part of the logic board. Is it possible to exchange that at all?? This is what's installed: ATI Mobility Radeon 9700, VRAM 64 MB.
Thanks in advance for any inputs!!

I figured out the problem/cure. I had help, though not from this website... However, I thought I'm going to post the solution here, in case someone else is experiencing the same problem! It turned out that it was not the update to the latest Safari (3.2.1), but the latest Adobe Flash player version (10) that caused the bug. Apparently older Mac's (I'm using the 1.5 GHz PowerBook G4 aluminum) cannot handle the latest technology of Flash player 10.
I uninstalled the plugins, using Adobe's Flash player uninstaller, downloaded the Flash player 9 folder here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14266&sliceId=2 and installed version 9.0.151.0. Repair disk permissions. That's it. Everything is back to normal!!
If this was helpful to anybody, I'll be happy to hear from you!

  • How to center flash movie in browser window

Can anyone explain how to horizontally center my Flash movie in the web browser window after publishing?
    A bit of background:
I was able to achieve this using <center></center> tags a few years ago. But I have since upgraded to CS5 and I understand that this old method is now obsolete.
I have found a few threads/forums that address this, but I know nothing about HTML and these threads don't help me because they assume you have more knowledge than I possess. When opening up the index.html file in Dreamweaver I can't find anything that looks vaguely familiar to what is being discussed. I have found some code samples using <div></div> tags but have no idea where to place it.
So I will need it explained to me in a step by step fashion, including which file I need to fix and what program I should use. Code samples will be very welcome if you can tell me exactly where it goes.
    Thanks in advance...

Just realized that there is no scrolling functionality with the .swf generated from the new CS5. Can anyone help out by providing revised code for centering and scrolling?
I found something elsewhere in the forums that worked for both centering and scrolling that worked fine yesterday, but upon visiting my site today for testing, it did not allow the scrolling, and centering did not work in Firefox. Tested both Safari and Firefox on 2 Macs running Snow Leopard.
Again, much appreciated - nice to visit forums where people are interested in helping instead of screaming at each other. Will visit the Illustrator or Indesign forum to see if I can help out someone there...

  • Flash issue in Safari Browser

I've created a simulation in Flash 8. The simulation is

    Some Functions are not working
I've also checked the Flash player version in both IE and

Has anyone faced this issue ever. I need some expert
    comments.
    Thanks

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste (command-V) into the text box that opens, then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
I've seen an unconfirmed report that the "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you might need to remove it as well, if applicable.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.
