Flash or Shockwave serios problems
I've been having real issues with Shockwave or Flash plug ins. They keep on crashing. I've been deleting and re-installing the latest versions and keeps on crashing.
They've been happening a lot in the last 2 weeks and never had this issue before. I have not done anything different to my computer. It's getting super annoying and its not only Firefox but the other browsers I have like Safari and Chrome. I listen to Pandora all day and now I can't because it crashes after 10 minutes. I don't know what else to do. I keep submitting the crash reports every time they happen....
found a solution myself: apparently the problem was caused by the plugin...looks like it only works in 32 bit mode?!! I downloaded the flashplayer 11 beta release and now everything's fine!
in case someone else has the same problem, here's the link http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer11.html
so far I haven't had any problems with the beta version.

Huge IE7-Flash/Shockwave Player Problem
i just installed IE7 (7.0.5730.11) and wanted to try it out
on some demanding pages, like those with flash animations,
shockwave games and integrated media players. everything worked
fine until i went to www.miniclip.com and started the robot rage
game (
http://www.miniclip.com/games/robot-rage/en/).
signing in was successful and also the choose robot page had no
problems, but after i chose a robot and got to the workshop every
single click caused an "iexplore.exe - Application Error" - The
instruction at [eg.] "0x77ec3593" referenced memory at
"0x00000010". The memory could not be "read". OK>terminate,
CANCEL>debug!
i tried it several times, set all possible IE security and
advanced settings to lowest possible, everywhere "enable" where
possible, ran ccleaner (cleaned temp, cookies etc.), restarted my
notebook and the problem still occurs. sometimes it just hapens
when i get to the first page where the shockwave application starts
(there the "send error report" window comes up and the MS crash
analysis tells me that Macromedia has published a new version of
the flash player (i definitely have the most recent one), but
mostly i manage to sign in, choose a robot and then when i'm on the
workshop page every single click anywhere leads to the application
error.
since the latest flash player/shockwave player issues are
from july 21, i supose the problem is indeed caused by the flash
player, not IE7, since it's not been updated after the end-user
version of IE7 had been released.
if anyhow possible, this issue should be reported to Adobe (i
am not a commercial Adobe customer, so i cannot do that) so they
can fix that and release a new version of flash/shockwave
playeri apologize, i didn't see that i posted it in the wrong
forum; should be in the flash/shockwave player forum -
I have tried disabling all Add-ons.
I've reinstalled FireFox 6 three time.
Slide show pics fail to load.
I have all of the proper Flash and Shockwave type Add-ons.
I just can't resolve the problem.
Yet my browser repeatedly locks upSending a solution that I have already tried is of no help, but I tried them all again, reloading works sometimes, I have seen in the past that others have had this problem also, of pages not completely loading. So I don't see how you can say I am the only one. When I first started using Firefox it worked great but now it doesn't, one of the updates caused this problem. I guess it's back to IE as it works fine now.

------=_NextPart_000_0157_01C8E5D5.30A1E450--Yeah, it does make me appreciate Wordpress. I would have
stuck with it, but
when I found out that you have to pay to edit your CSS (on
their hosted
plan), I switched back to Blogger!
I'll keep my eye on that beta ("draft") version of Blogger. I
have to be
cautious with my client's account, but maybe I'll try it for
my own blogs.
Thanks again...!

Adobe Flash player, shockwave just doesn't work.
For flash player,
I'm using chrome and firefox, somehow flash player just won't work
I checked the flash player is installed, and can see the animation at no. 5
https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
But when I tries to view a video from cbs site, it says "Please install Adobe Flash Player to view this video"
And also there's a game I wanted to play on my computer(not browser), and it tells me "Adobe Flash Player or an HTML5 supported browser is required for video playblack. Get the latest Flash Player..."
I checked my chrome and firefox plugins, both are enabled and always allowed to run. Yet why this problem persists?
Also note that this is a new laptop.
For shockwave,
I checked this site:
Adobe - Test Adobe Shockwave Player
Somehow it worked for firefox but not chrome?I'll just copy and paste the whole thing.

Flash and shockwave not working
I'm running OS X version 10.3.9 and Safari version 1.3.2 (v312.6) and I recently tried to install the new version of the flash shockwave player before I realised what was going on all flash and shockwave content stopped working. I've tried everything from unistalling the player to trying to find an older version to install, reinstalling all my other browsers to trying to install a newer version of safari but nothing seams to work.
can anyone help me get flash content working again
this is the message i get when I try and view a page with flash or shockwave content
"The page “Adobe” attempted to load an Internet plug-in named “Shockwave Flash”, but the plug-in failed to load successfully."I'm having the same problem. Running OS 10.4.10 with Safari 3.0.3. This crashing happens in all browers Netscape/Safari/Firefox/Seamonkey etc. I installed, re-installed Flash and Quicktime. I've checked boxes and unchecked boxes and nothing seems to works. HELP!!
I Get the same crash log everytime.

Hi, I have been researching these forums for too long! I cannot find an answer that resolves my problem. I too had the damaged file and 3 empty java files. I deleted them. I searched for the gp.ocx and gp.inf. I did not find the ocx but found an agp file. I deleted it but it did not delete the damaged file, thus my justification for deleting it.
I have IE8, Windows XP SP3, and have had trouble playing certain games for months. I get so frustrated each time I undertake trying to resolve the problem that it never gets done. I used to have Shockwave and somewhere it was lost. I tried unsuccessfully to install it several times until I finally removed all but the adobe reader and downloaded the flash and shockwave again. This time the shockwave took but it still is not working. Initially the problem with shockwave seemed to be the SwDir.dll, and SWDNLD files.
Also the DLM kept coming up saying click to download. I did only to have it disappear after closing it.
I hope this is sufficient information to give me guidance. Also, Ken said that he went directly to the adobe ftp to download his files directly. Where are those? I am losing money everyday that I cannot get this to operate/function properly.
Thank you so much in advance for any help any one can give me.Hi. Here is a link for downloading shockwave player directly from Adobe.
http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/
(Have downloaded it quickly and simply for Imac - don't have it working yet though) -
Why does my flash and shockwave player crash
Whenever I run anything in google chrome with my flash player or shockwave player it says flash or shockwave has crashed. Why?
You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:
*check for updates for your graphics drive drivers<br>https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Adobe Flash and Shockwave keep crashing in Firefox and Chrome.
The problem just started last night.
Firefox 6.0.2
Chrome13.0.782.220
I have uninstalled, then rebooted and reinstalled Flash Player, Shockwave, and plug-in for Firefox.
After installing it worked and then stopped working again about an hour ago.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit OS
Service Pack 1
NVidia GT220 driver is up to date.
Thank you in advance for your help.Using FireFox 10.0.2 and Flash Player 11.1.102.62 (or any other combination that I have tried so far) on Windows 7 64 bit, after a few seconds of playing a YouTube video the video freezes up and after a few more seconds I get the frowny face with the message that Flash Player has crashed. Several people have recommended disabling hardware acceleration but that didn't help. The only way I can get it to play YouTube videos is to go to FireFox Plugins and disable the Shockwave plugin. Now I can play YouTube videos, but some videos that come to me from other platforms pop up with the message: "This plugin is disabled."
I used to be able to play all videos with no problem up to about two weeks ago. I don't want to have to restore to a previous time if I don't have to.
Also, when I use Internet Explorer I have no problems playing either YouTube of those from other sources.
I have seen a lot of questions on this problem but no good answers that have worked for me.
BTW, on each crash I clicked on reload and submit report, but don't know if it goes anywhere. -
whenever i go to a sight that requires flash or shockwave,a
message apears on firefox that says "click to install plugins".
When i click on it, it takes me to a download screen that says
"download failed" i check in my system 32 folder, the folder
"macromed" is there, but it is completely empty.Hi,
Please perform a clean install Flash Player, this may help:

OS X and Flash 10 - multibrowser video problem
I'm at my wit's end.
MacBook (late 2008 Aluminum), OS X 10.5.8, fully updated.
In both Safari 4.0.4 and the latest FireFox, I get the following video result for anything at, for example, www.snotr.com
Other flash-based video sites are hit-and-miss. YouTube is 99% fine, and the problematic 1% may be unrelated.
Other flash videos tend to begin loading, but "stalls".
Using Ctrl-click to access the "Settings" menu usually freezes the page - though it does work on flash at Adobe.com. This settings screen only has one option available, apparently, which is "use hardware acceleration". I had enabled this, and (after going to Adobe.com) finally was able to disable it. NO apparent difference.
Troubleshooting steps:
- uninstalled all non-factory plugins (I was using Click2Flash, Glims, Safari Ad Blocker, Safari Cookies).
- uninstalled (with Adobe uninstaller) and reinstalled Flash and Shockwave Players.
- reset Safari
- deleted and reinstalled Safari 4.0.4
In Safari (my main browser) I have both Java and Javascript enabled.
Interestingly, switching to a second user account, I have no problems... it has to be a software conflict or a preference problem unique to my user account.
Suggestions... before I go completely mad?Hi, first you need to know that my experience with Mac and Safari is limited. However, with a PC using IE or FF, when it
comes to the Flash Player working there is a Shockwave Flash Object ActiveX Control for IE and a SWF plugin for FF.
Both browsers must have these controls for Flash Player to work. I would think Safari would also use a plugin, but not sure.
If you installed from the Adobe site, then you were aware of the download for the different browser. You may want to try the offline Installer.
http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_tn_19166_en-us This is an Adobe troubleshooting link, you may read over it prior to Installing so you
may see what are some issues preventing a successful install (before installing)
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html The Uninstaller that is downloaded to your desktop & run from there.
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe This is the Installer FOR NON-IE BROWSERS
This is also downloaded to your desktop and run from there.
If you follow the Uninstall procedures and the Install procedures (complying with the requirements) you should be successful.
Hope this is helpful.
