Flash or *swf to HTML 5 locally.

I have a lot of *swf and also their original *fla, and I would like to export them to html5. I saw some websites who offer these conversions, like https://www.flash-banner-converter.com/converter.
Is there another way to do it within the Adobe package and locally? I tried opening Edge Animate, Flash CC, trying to make exports, from: *swf, flash. I also tried to import these files into Flash CC > html5 canvas  and to Edge Animate, but nothing. The "old" flash files are grayed out.
So, I see that the only one way is (if not going for this website which I really appreciate), redesigning everything again in Edge Animate? almost from scratch?
Thanks.

Hi,
You can open your existing fla's in the latest Flash CC release and convert them into a Canvas fla's and publish. If you have timeline frame scripts(AS2/AS3) then it will be commented and available for reference.
You may want to refer to Flash Professional Help | Creating and publishing an HTML5 Canvas document for more details.
Thanks!

  • In Flash CS4 a generated html with swf file won't play swf

    Using Flash CS4 and having the Flash plug-in ver 10 on my PC, the generated html file will not play the swf in the browser.
    I noticed that the active-x javascript is now included in the header as well as the javascript portion in the body tag.
    But it won't play.  I get the typical blank window in IE with the "X" in the upper left corner.
    I don't have this problem with Flash CS3.
    Any ideas what may be going on?
    Thank you.

    I am having similar difficulty; mostly I am confused.
    I want to open a flash video file in a frame within a webpage.
    I have generated a Flash CS4 html and swf file. When loaded they play, but they play on a separate, full size web page, not in the frame where I want it.
    I then generated FLV and F4V files but that doesn't work.
    It appears that I need to insert the object and embed tags "for Flash Movies" in the html file.
    Once I do that, do I go back to only putting in the html and swf files and create a link to the html file to bring up the video in the target frame?
    What are the FLV files for?

  • Flash CC does not publish swf and html files

    I'm having issues with Flash CC. When I go to publish my movie the status bar appeaers then quickly disappears and the html and swf files are not created. I'm also not able to export the movie as a quicktime or AVI file. Is there specific settings I must have to publish and export? Note: I am working with AS3 and tried to do a simpple test with a box moving left to right and I have the same problem.
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    Are you sure the HTML and SWF are not currently in use? For example if you publish and preview it in a browser, it can lock those files because they're "in use". Then Flash cannot overwrite them. You'd need to close the browser or any Flash Players displaying them. If that still won't overwrite, delete the files and see if they're re-created.
    If no files are being created at all, gointo publish settings and set a path to export the SWF and HTML file to, don't leaving it at the default (same folder as FLA). Try various places in fact to test permissions.
    If you're on Windows you could try running Flash CC as Administrator to also get around any file writing permission issues. Right-click on the Flash icon and select Run as Administrator.
    I've only really encountered this when my SWF/HTML was in use or stuck in a process.

  • How do I keep the action created in Flash (.fla) the same when published in .swf or .html?

    I created a complex fixed line and a bird flying on the line using tweens from point A to B to C.  When I view the birdline in play or by scrubbing across them in the layers mode, the bird follows the line just as designed.  When I test the birdline in "test Scene" or "test movie" one bird flies from point A to C, then another bird appears at point B and flies the course to point C.  The published .swf and .html do the same as the test functions.  What can I do to get the published version to behave the same as the design?

    Rob,
    Thanks for your response.  There are no error messages in the test functions, and no alerts in the keyframes.  They show green.
    Attached you will find both the .fla file and the .swf file.  I am new at this, so your help is greatly appreciated.

    PS- I am sitting in Sweden right now.  So I am off to bed and will be back on line in the morning.  Please forgive the delay in my response.

  • SWF works on any local computer but not on website

    Hi Guys
    I have developed a website using flash and xml. My export folder containts my swf file, html files nad xml config files (plus a numebr of images etc). The export fodler does not have any .fla files etc.
    When running the site locally all works perfecctly, but when trying to run off the web there is text corruption and layout problems. I obviously though it was a pthing issue - so I sent the export folder to a friend (exactly the same contents as what is loaded on the site) and he can laucnh and view the site perfectly - so its not a pathing issue as far as I can see.
    WOuld there be a reason why text is not visible when viewing off the web (but you can click here the text shoudl be - highlight then it suddenly appears). Also where text is located ont he design it has become double sapced ont he web version but not when running locally. I have checked all the permissions to 777 incase of an issue there.
    If it was a pathing issue - why would it work on various other computers when senidng just the export folder (which contains no sub folders at all) it can't be taking anything fromt he root or parent folder as it wouldnt work on the other local machines it has been tested on?
    Please let me know if anyone has any ideas as its really frustrating. I have folowed the logic of sending the output folder to other computers and it works perfectly (remember no subfolders or parent folders so its only looking for local files within the folder)....weird!?
    Thanks

    Thanks I will try and contact the hosting company now to find out - I am using Heart Internet: here is a sample of my xml file....thanks so much for replying :-) I thought it might be to do with server environment as wokring perfectly on multiple local computers etc....
    Here is some of the xml code: i see some ISO mention at the top? Not too sure about what you mentioned regarding CDATA....but it appears in the xml below (I bought template and then just edited the text to change so didnt actually rite the code so please excuse my lack of technical knowledge- I am trying lol

  • How to detect end of flash movie (SWF file) in Javascript

    I have used Dreamweaver CS4 to integrate my SWF file as shown
    below. So far so good. See GoToNext()
    my website
    What I wouldd like to do is have the SWF movie trigger a
    javascript function in my html page when the video is stopped
    playing (i.e. when it is finished) There are no controlls in that
    SWF file - it is basically am add banner. I would think this would
    be easiest done by rasinng an event in SWF that is communicated to
    javascript, where I can add an event listener, and thus trigger my
    function.
    How can this be done in the simplest way?
    <div id="bodyFlash"
    class="clearfloat"><p> </p>
    <object
    classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="760"
    height="150" id="FlashID" title="Chillifire Banner">
    <param name="movie" value="flash/chillifire.swf" />
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
    <param name="swfversion" value="6.0.65.0" />
    <!-- This param tag prompts users with Flash Player 6.0
    r65 and higher to download the latest version of Flash Player.
    Delete it if you don’t want users to see the prompt. -->
    <param name="expressinstall"
    value="Scripts/expressInstall.swf" />
    <!-- Next object tag is for non-IE browsers. So hide it
    from IE using IECC. -->
    <!--[if !IE]>-->
    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
    data="flash/chillifire.swf" width="760" height="150">
    <!--<![endif]-->
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
    <param name="swfversion" value="6.0.65.0" />
    <param name="expressinstall"
    value="Scripts/expressInstall.swf" />
    <!-- The browser displays the following alternative
    content for users with Flash Player 6.0 and older. -->
    <div>
    <h4>Content on this page requires a newer version of
    Adobe Flash Player.</h4>
    <p><a href="
    http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"><img
    src="
    http://www.adobe.com/images/shared/download_buttons/get_flash_player.gif"
    alt="Get Adobe Flash player" width="112" height="33"
    /></a></p>
    </div>
    <!--[if !IE]>-->
    </object>
    <!--<![endif]-->
    </object>
    </div>
    ...

    on the last frame in the banner file you can use the
    ExternalInterface class to call a specific JS method, and even pass
    data if needed.

  • Linking .swf to html page using a href ......

    I have attempted to get an anwser to this on the Flash forum, but it is a jungle over there.... I have attempted to link a swf to a web page on my site using the a href property; the page opens in Safari and Firefox; however, in IE7 the page shows at the bottom of the browser, but nothing happens on mousedown. I fear it may have to do with the way IE handles the wmode=transparent property...  I have tried using an invisible button in Flash, but it covers up the animation every time...
    This is the code for the two button graphics (movie clips):
    <table style="width: 100%;" border="0">
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td align="left"><a href="/index.php/design-samples.html">
    <object width="220" height="120" data="/Flash/designs_ad.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
    <param name="quality" value="best" />
    <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
    <param name="src" value="/Flash/designs_ad.swf" />
    </object>
    </a></td>
    <td align="right"><a href="/index.php/recent-work.html">
    <object style="width: 220px; height: 120px;" width="220" height="120" data="/Flash/recentwork_ad.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
    <param name="quality" value="best" />
    <param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
    <param name="src" value="/Flash/recentwork_ad.swf" />
    </object>
    </a></td>
    </tr>
    </tbody>
    </table>

    Hi
    The reason it will not work in IE is because IE uses a different form of code to play swf's/flv's, (application vs's plug-in).
    Firefox and Safari use - type="application/x-shockwave-flash", but IE uses - classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000".
    If you do a standard insert - media - swf from the main menu bar in dreamweaver this will insert the correct code for you.

  • Embedding swf into HTML+JS AIR app

    Hi
    I'm trying to embed swf into HTML+JS AIR app with no luck.
    First, I created flash library with this class in default package.
    package
         import mx.controls.Alert;
         public class Utilities
              public function Utilities()
                             //asdfasdf
                   Alert.show("asdasd","");
    Then I compiled the project with Flash Builder and got library.swc as result. Then I extracted swf file.
    After this is added required code into my html:
    <html>
    <head>
        <script type="text/javascript" src="AIRAliases.js"></script>
        <script type="text/javascript" src="AIRIntrospector.js"></script>
        <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.6.2.js"></script>
        <script src="library.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></script>
        <script type="text/javascript">
            $(document).ready(function () {
                alert('loaded');
                air.Introspector.logError("aaa");
                var v = new runtime.Utilities();
        </script>
    </head>
    <body>
    </body>
    </html>
    Then after I run application, I get error that result of expression is not constructor, function etc.
    Could you help me please?  Thanks in advance.
    Here is sample code:
    http://depositfiles.com/files/jztpnlb3a

    No. I mean that the Flex framework makes certain assumptions about the environment it is running in -- like having a stage to work with. The Alert function, for example, works by creating a sprite and adding it to the Flash display list. Since your embedded SWF is not on a stage, there's no way for it to work.
    You can can possibly use certain non-visual parts of the framework, such as the rpc package, but I can't guarantee it.

  • Need help with Flash CS6 swf files

    open your fla is flash pro.
    click file>publish settings
    tick swf and html wrapper
    click file>publish
    upload the newly published swf and html to your server.
    open the newly published server html using your browser.
    any problem?  if yes, post the url to your newly published html.

  • FLV. not working in SWF within HTML page

    I have created a SWF presentation which contains several videos as FLVs. The videos are uploaded to a folder on the clients server.
    The exported SWF and HTML files of the presentations worked perfectly when hosted on my local machine but when sent to the client, who uploaded to their own server, the SWFs ran but would not play the FLV files within. When they changed the HTML files to HTM they worked perfectly.
    However...when they embedded the pages into the content management system the use it required that the pages were reverted back to HTML, therefore the FLVs are not working again.
    The 'still' frame appears where the FLV should be, but the skin and the video itself does not load.
    Does anyone have any idea why this issue has occurred?
    Thanks in advance.

    @Ned
    Not sure about the folder structure of their site, to be honest they've been a nightmare client from day one so getting information like that out of them has been nigh on impossible.
    The flv files are all in a folder together and these are linked from the swf with this link structure: http://www.sitename.org.uk/folder/video.flv
    I'm not entirely sure how their CMS is structured. I was throwing this question out on the off chance that someone had seen a similar instance where HTML/HTM file types had affected functionality.

  • Can a Flash 6 SWF (AS 1) read variables of a Captivate 4 SWF (AS 2)?

    I have a Captivate 4 CP that I published to Flash Player 9, AS 2.0 SWF ( and Flash Player 7 as well, which didn't help either). I load this SWF in a Flash wrapper SWF (published to Flash Player 6, AS 1.0) which needs to read the rdinfoCurrentFrame and rdinfoFrameCount variables in order to find out if the Captivate movie has completed. The logic works when I test this locally, but not in our test environment, probably because the two (Flash SWF and the Captivate SWF) are in two different directories. My suspicion is that it is due to cross-domain issue which comes into play only with Captivate 4 SWFs, because when I tried replacing the Captivate 4 SWF with a Captivate 2 SWF it worked. I tried displaying the value of rdInfoCurrentFrame in the Flash wrapper using a dynamic text box, and while it shows and updates the value in case of a Captivate 2 SWF, it shows a null value for Captivate 4 SWF. Is this a known issue? I'm playing the content in Flash Player v9.0.45.0.
    Also, can someone here tell me what ActionScript version does Captivate 2 publish the SWFs to?
    Thanks in advance for your help!
    Mohsin

    The crossdomain policy is a result of the Flash player - not Captivate. It was implemented with FP 8.0 so if you publish to that then you will have the restrictions. However, the crossdomain policy only applies to different domains - not different directories.
    Captivate 4 publishes to AS2 per default.
    The problem you have is due to the fundamental changes between CP2 and CP4. While your paths for the variables might work for CP2 they have changed for CP4.
    I can't remember exactly what they are right now and I dont have access to my files but try these paths
    movie.rdInfoCurrentFrame
    mainmov.rdInfoCurrentFrame

  • Published swf and html file viewing issues.

    Greetings,
    I design web banners and used to, with Flash 8, sedn my
    clients the published *.html and *.swf files to download onto their
    desktops so they could view the banner. With Flash CS3 this doesn't
    seem to be working the same way. It keeps giving them the window
    that says something about "ac_runactivescript.js". How come this
    never did this with Flash 8?

    click file/publish settings/formats, make sure the swf and html boxes are selected, and click the use default names button.  then click file/publish.  are the files in your directory with your fla?
    if not, create a new directory (that has no subdirectories), save your fla to that new directory using a new name (ie, click file/save as).  then click file/publish.  check the new directory for your 3 files.

  • Flash 8 SWF loading Flash 6 and 7 SWF with quality issues

    I have made a Flash 8 .exe that "loadmovie"s a
    Captivate(Flash 6) SWF. The animation screenshots come out blurred
    when the SWF is loaded in the Flash 8 .exe. If I create a test
    Flash 7 .exe, this does not happen. Any Ideas?
    PS - I need to use Flash 8 because of filters and VP6
    video.

    It's not completely clear what you're saying.
    Do you have a wrapper SWF that first dynamically loads the
    Flash 6 movie? If so, then is that wrapper in Flash 8 format? If
    that's the case, then if someone has only the Flash 6 Player then
    it may not be displayed anyway.
    If what you're doing is loading the Flash 8 movie into Level
    0 of the Flash 6 movie, then this may be causing some of the mess
    you're experiencing.
    Normally there are two ways to catch a viewer that doesn't
    have the Flash 8 Player: 1) a detection script, which usually
    works, and is part of many of the HTML templates that are built
    into Flash (HTML Settings panel); or 2) Put the Flash 6 movie on a
    separate HTML page from the Flash 8 SWF.
