Flash10b.ocx problem
This is only on 1 PC and 1 website (as far as I can tell) My husband's laptop can access it without problems. Our OS's, IE, & Flash are all the same versions. I've tried reinstalling Flash, no luck.
I'm running Vista Home Premium with IE7. However, I also tried IE8 and Firefox (current version?) Same problem.
Here's the page, and it only happens when I click to type in my password. Remember, this works on my H's laptop.
I get the pop-up from Internet Exporer:
Internet Explorer has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close.
The following add-on was running when this problemm occured:
Add-on Name: Flash10b.osx
etc.
Here's the advanced info from the crash.

On Saturday night, We changed 1 setting in 5 training classes. Mulitple websites seemed to indicate this changed may help. To note, you can not do this via action script or using parameters in the html object tag. Not sure why, it would be nice if they included into the object tags?
Anyhow...These 5 training classes are the most frequently hit courses and would create a nice composite for checking the problem.
if the problem (flash crashing) starts to shrink, trend higher or stay the same.
The setting "Script time Limit" is defaulted to 15 seconds.
I raised it to be 60 on these training courses.
Do not know if it will help at all. I wait for feedback and statistics from our computer labs.
To note: Our training courses are setup in a Shell which "pull in" other SWF, MP3, XML,FLV and JPG files. The shell's timeline is stopped while a child SWF is playing. Which has always seem to work fine and continues to work on 97% of computers. But based on the "FLASH PLAYER" requiring the timeline to be updated or else it errors out. Could be the problem....
Thinking outloud:
In other words, another website explained it to me as Looping conditions are fine as long as the "Timeline" has been updated at least 1x in 15 seconds. Not sure if this is true, but it is my interpretation so far. These is strange considering the fact "Audio" can play continously via action sript with out ever updating the timeline (swithing to a different frame). So if this was the case, "Flash" would crash consistently every 15 seconds.
SO now my question is. "What does the Flash Player consider as 'updating the timeline'"?
========================================================================================== ======
Can anyone explain in simple words what the script time limit exactly is?
the time limit for code that starts to execute and then continues to execute
without allowing the stage to update.
========================================================================================== ======
Here is something else i found:
Your issue made me think of race conditions. Andrew Rapo and Alex Michael speak of "race conditions" in their book Understanding Macromedia Flash 8.0 Actionscript 2: basic techniques for creatives (2006, Focal Press).
Here is how the authors explain it:
Quote:
The term, 'race condition,' refers to the situatio where instructions will produce different results when executed in a different order, and teh order of execution is inconsistent. Race conditions can produce intermittent bugs (errors), and these are the hardest to track down and fix. (page 46)
They go on to explain that the ability to employ multiple timelines makes race conditions more likely in Flash applications. To avoid race conditions:
Quote:
The only solution is to entralize the important code and have all of the varioius MovieClips and event handlers report back to an authoritative "application controller".

Another blog I found
http://blog.justgreat.nl/2007/08/24/joy-with-the-script-timeout-period/comment-page-1/
Just great; I forgot to mention HOW to set the timeout . Well here is how:
You can’t set the timeoutperiod by code (neither in as3 nor in as2). You have to set the timeout manually in the publish settings of your fla: Ctrl+Shift+F12 > flash-tab > “Script time limit”.

The Secuna Online Scanner reports that Flash10b.ocx in directory C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\Macromed\Flash\ should be replaced by version 10.0.32.18 even after I run the update installer pointed to by Secunia. I would note that there is no C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\Macromed\Flash\ directory on my system. The Flash10b.ocx file is located in the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\ directory and is still version 10.0.22.87 according to the properties dialog for the file. I should note that Firefox is my default web browser but of course IE is installed and working.
I assumed that the updated file would also be Flash10b.ocx but it appears that it becomes Flash10c.ocx and I did not notice the additional file.

Flash10a.ocx problem, causes IE to Close. HELP!
I have been getting this message frequently:
Internet Explorer has experienced a problem with an add-on
and needs to close.
The following add-on was running when this problem occurred:
Add-on Name: Flash10a.ocx
Company Name: Adobe Systems Incorporated
Description: Adobe Flash Player
The message pops up, and it then closes and restarts Internet
Explorer.
What is causing this, and how can I fix it?
Thanks so much!Let's see now..."Internet Explorer has encountered a problem
with an add-on and needs to close..." for "Flash10a.ocx". This
occurs on Windows 2000, Windows XP SP1, SP2, SP3, can't confirm
Vista, but others do here as well and on IE6, IE7 and IE8 and not
on Firefox and ver9 caused no such issues.
Ver10 included very important security updates...apparently
designed to crash your system(s) and cause your company money in
wasted IT time. No comment or fix at all in over 3-months now.
I plan to talk to IT at my company and see about reverting
all systems to 9.x and/or blocking all flash related content at the
hardware firewall level as we do Bittorrent and other crap. Let's
see how they react when their partners are informed that over
20,000 people can no longer see their advertisements and if we can
get it to cascade to other companies and if they fix it before
their customers lynch them for eliminating or pissing off their
customers customers or target audience.
Never thought I'd see the day when Adobe is so lazy and
sloppy and insensitive that they make M$ look like a saint.
Unrelated I am also sick of their stupid Adobe Reader eating up
tons memory and crashing itself or the system...on a 4GB
workstation (3GB available). Do you guys have any programmers left
that know anything or did you outsource them are are partying on an
island with AIG execs?
Fix it or prepare to feel it in your bottom line...I've had
it with you lazy software companies that for upgrades that cause
more issues than they resolve!

UPDATE: Apparently Flash10b aka Flash Player 10.0.22.87 was
released on Feb24, 2009 to pretty quiet fanfare...if you look
closely you will find it VERY hard to see any mention of actual
FIXES besides critical security enhancement...until you dig deeper
and find the actual change log which lists
The following issues have been fixed in Flash Player
10.0.22.87:
• Flash Player 10 crashes in IE7 due to the use of a
dynamic TextField as a mask on another display object when the
field set to anti-alias for readability. (FP-1238/2256938)
• A sound stream error #2032 will cause the playback of
a separate stream to stop playback. (FP-910/2251944)
• Japanese text mojibake (garbled) at Input Text in
Flash 5 swf. (2223727)
• Ming created file does not play in Flash Player 10 in
any browser. (FP-769/2217038)
• FileReference.save() can save invalid Windows
filename like "sticky." so users are never able to delete.
(2202963)
• Setting bitmap width/height before super() crashes
player. (FP-760/2216975)
• Audio is scratchy with static/streamed with sample
rate greater than 44kHz. (FP-862/2216961)
• Seeking H264 video on the first few frames causes IE
to crash. (FP-913/2216957)
• Fullscreen in Flash Player 10 hangs with Flex 3
horizontal slider. (FP-812/2216948)
• Matrix3D AS3 class implementation is difficult to use
for general math. (2216936)
• The Origin header should be put on the banned headers
list. (2202975)
• Using drawingAPI2 in certain conditions when the
Shape is not yet on the displayList can crash. (FP-761/2202966)
• Adding 2 vectors with float4 input and output
produces incorrect result. (2202964)
• Attempting to install to a non-C:\ drive results in
'lack of disk space' error. (2202957)
• Fix AS APIs' inconsistent handling of NaN parameters
on different platforms. (FP-612,FP-903, FP-964/2200454)
• SampleDataEvent playback in IE7 window crashes
browser when new Flash window displayed. (FP-985/1935068)
• When receiving multiple speex audio streams, audio
may be garbled. (1934243)
• When the end of a video is reached at certain
websites, IE crashes instead of showing the next frame.
(FP-1123/1932362)
• UIA mistakenly over-enforced in previous release.
(2262898)
• Japanese characters are mojibake when they are
entered into an input text filed on the Mac Player. (FP-40/2269305)
Yes I'm sure 6 IE related Crash fixes are all "security"
related;) Geez...you guys must also think we are only in a minor
economic downturn too. The supidiest thing is that if you go here
for support:
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/
It IRONICALLY claims that, "SUPPORT ALERT Do you have
problems installing or running Adobe® Flash® Player for
Internet Explorer? Most of these problems can be attributed to
Windows Registry permission issues. See our technical documents on
Flash Player and Windows Registry permission errors."
REALLY...REALLY?!?
Is that why sys admin and hackers (original
definition...computer whiz types) gave detailed issues on
IE6/IE7/IE8 conflicts everywhere including here many times and then
suddenly you sneak in 6-IE related fixes and add such a silly claim
to your support page. Look at the forum message here for some
reality check and PLEASE stop having MARKETING or THE LAWYERS write
all you documentation. Most of us just want stuff fixed and to know
when stuff has bee addressed or fixed....OK!

OCX problems Using Designer 2.1 to Generate VB 5.0/6.0
We are using Designer 2.1 to Generate VB 5.0 which we are
actually bringing into and opening up in VB 6.0. We are running
into problems with the controls gauge32.ocx and threed32.ocx. We
retrieved copies of the ocxs, but we can't put them on our NT
machines.
I've seen documentation that indicates we need Oracle Objects
also, is this true?
Any information on any issue relating to VB 5.0/6.0 generation
out of Designer would be appreciated!
nullHi (Miss?) Donna,
You need to install Oracle OLE 2 Object which is accompanied with
Oracle Server for Win NT or Oracle Developer disks. In addition,
to run apps generated as VB 5/6 apps by Designer/2000 , you need
some legacy OCXs, which are placed on controls directory of VB
5/6 installation directory.

Flash8b.ocx problems with IE
I've been looking at the various forums but no idea how to
fix my problem.
When playing a particular game on the internet it frequently
crashes and comes up with the error that it's a problem with
Flash8b.ocx add-on. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Flash8 but
with no joy.
Anyone help?Just a quick update on the Problem Record (8543494).
Whatever is causing this must be pretty major or difficult to
track down.
Last Friday (29/04) I received a pretty standard looking
email from the support people asking if the problem had gone away -
it hasn't. They then asked me to follow through what looked like a
list of diagnostics :-
1. Try using another browser to test if it's a browser issue.
Flash and Shockwave player are also supported on Netscape and
Mozilla so these are good browsers for testing purposes. Test out
any rich content site on these browsers and see if you get the same
errors. If no, then it's an IE issue and you'll need to
repair/reinstall the program. If the same problems come up even on
other browsers, then it's a system issue.
2. For system issues, it can be any of the following:
a. Conflict with other software- there might be other
applications that use the same sound channel (for audio) and video
card resources.
b. Outdated or corrupt device drivers- Old sound and video
drivers may not support the Flash player, so it is recommended that
you update your device drivers. These are usually available from
your device manufacturer's websites.
c. Hardware acceleration is a setting for the video card
driver which allows it to interact with some of your system's
resources in rendering the screen display. By default, hardware
acceleration is set to 'Full'. Turning down this default setting
(one step at a time) often resolves display problems and audio
issues. The steps for changing this setting are:
i. Right-click in a blank area of the Desktop.
ii. The location of the hardware acceleration control may
differ for your video card driver.
In Windows XP and 2000, choose Properties > Settings tab
> Advanced button > Troubleshoot.
Turn your hardware acceleration down one level and then test
your browser with Flash movies.
I had already tried most of these actions without any joy. I
hadn't tried the hardware acceleration. So I tried it and found it
didn't help.
I've replied to support to tell them the results of the
diagnostics and that the problem remains.
I'm hoping for some inspired problem resolution from them
soon.

when i go to a website that uses flash player like ustream or anything else flash10e.ocx crashes and my web browser gos down what should i do?
i have been having the same problem for a month or so.
i have tried uninstalling & then reinstalling the program as recommended but it continues to occur. as i have looked at other forums this is happening across the board - all windows os (xp, vista, 7, both 32 & 64-bit) as well as with different browser versions (ie7, ie8) & browsers (firefox, chrome). there is some incompatibility with the latest flash player version & many websites.
hopefully adobe will send out a fix soon. -

I tried to run a MXML app in FB2 b3 but it kept complainting
that Flash 9 is needed.
I installed Flash 9 and Flash 9 was installed when FB2 was
installed too.
How can I have the builder reference to Flash 9 instead of 8?
BTW, there was no Flash Player 8 in my list of programs
available for removal.
thanks
markThis is the second time I have heard of problems like this.
Do you have any
idea what the actual problem is? Is this a commonly discussed
problem on the
message boards? (I only come over here to the forums once in
a while, and the
Flash player's installer is certainly not my area at all, so
perhaps other
Adobe people are on the problem already, but I just thought I
would ask.)

Hi there!
I have received a file from a dealer with a .dll extension.
I tried to use it as a dll and managed to hook up to it
but could not access the functions and variables inside.
We contacted the dealers and they informed us that it
was in fact an OCX file. We slapped down an ActiveX
component on our canvas aon great was our joy when
we could see it immediately.
So far any attempt to change the variables or use the
functions in this file was unsuccesful as it has no user
interface. Only the functions and vars sitting in it.
We have tried everything we could possible think of and
as his is new to us, we think maybe we did not try
every possible solution.
Could anybody please give us some pointers?
Thank you very much in advance!
Anton
nullHave you tried the ole-importer ?
Select the activeX component on the canvas and go to the program
menu and select ole-importer. This will make some packages
within your form to control it

Problem with flash in InternetExplorer 7
Hi, previously I had a lot of crashes in IE 7 and it was
caused by Flash10a.ocx. So couple of days ago I uninstalled and
reinstalled the newest version of Flash player. Today the same
problem occured with the following error message:
Program error in iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6001.18000, time
0x47918f11, modul with error Flash10b.ocx, version 10.0.22.87, time
0x4987a6c3, exception code 0xc0000005, offset error 0x00041a7a,
prosess-ID 0x1730, start time for program 0x01c99e2d5f0be50e.
So as you see the problem still persist in this version as
well, any suggestion how to solve this?there is some problem with i tunes 7(the7.0.1 patch also) in that any artwork found by i tunes is visible whilst viewing tracks in your library if you transfer said tracks to your ipod then the artwork is not transferred, also it you use album artwork as your screensaver then artwork found by i tunes is not used. i can only think that something is not beeing written to the id tags of the tracks. any artwork found by yourself and dragged into the relevant box on the track or album information screen(called up by apple+i)is seen on itunes and by the screensaver. i have spoken to apple support and they assured me that they would get back to me as they had to investigate.that was a month ago. if the problem really bugs you then you can drag artwork found by itunes onto your desktop and then back into the tracks id screen. this remedys the problem but is tedious to say the least. hope this helps

Install Flash Player-Permissions problem
I have Windows XP SP3 on my computer and have tried to install Adobe Flash Player with both Firefox and Internet Explorer and get the message that I do not have permissions to complete it. The help message said to check the user accounts and make sure that I am the administrator. I did that and I am. How can I fix this problem?

Internet explorer performance problem
Hi all
Steps to repro my problem
1. Create simple dot Sprite in flash
dot.graphics.beginFill( color);
dot.graphics.drawCircle( 0, 0, 2 );
dot.graphics.endFill();
2. Draw dot to bitmap many times a frame
bitmapData.draw( dot, null, null, "normal", null, _smoothing );
3. Test FrameRate in combination of browsers, flash plugin versions on Win32
Expect:
framerate to be close in most cases
Observed:
I am seeing a 25% decrease in framerate under IE7 using Flash10b.ocx(10.0.22) and 50% decrease in framerate using Flash10c.ocx(10.0.32). Plugins under firefox, safari and under OSX don't exhibit the same slowdown.
Help please:
I would like to get help/confirmation on a performance problem that I see in InternetExplorer. The Adobe and flash community is great on the Internet but I have been surprised to see no information on this, just a few reports about movie playback on 10.0.32 vs. 10.0.22.
My guess is that in IE Flash Plugin is passing the draw calls to Win32 and that is a slow operation.
My solution is:
Instead of drawing each time on the bitmap using draw, cache the draw calls to a bitmap and use CopyPixels. When I do this the perfomance is the same across browsers within 10%.
bitmapData.copyPixels(dot.bitmapData,dot.bitmapData.rect,new Point(dot.x,dot.y),null,null,true);
Loop I am using
function enterFrame(e:Event) {
bitmap.lock();
for (var i:int=0;i<particles.length;i++) {
draw(particle[i]);
bitmap.unlock();
Notes about other possibly related "known" issues I would like to know more about.
Under IE the memory use for my application is reported to be much smaller (33MB typically in flashplayer, 16MB under IE).
Under IE the memory page faults are at over 10k/sec wherease in the flash player there are none.
Under IE the stage.invalidate seems to cause performance hitching problems.
Under IE putting a blur filter on the bitmap has bigger performance hit that in the flash player.Hi,
As I know, recent browsets should use http 1.1, have you tried to force the http 1.1 via registry?
Open registry editor
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click
OK.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click
DWORD Value.
Type EnableHTTP1_1, and then press ENTER.
Right-click EnableHTTP1_1, and then click Modify.
Type 1, and then click OK.
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click
DWORD Value.
Type ProxyHttp1.1, and then press ENTER.
Right-click ProxyHttp1.1, and then click Modify.
Type 1, and then click OK. click F5 to refresh the registry.
Exit Registry Editor.
And the link you pasted above (answer.microsoft.com) mentioned that this issue could be related with Blue Coat proxy, as a test, I suggest you set IE to "Automatically detect settings" instead of the proxy, check if it is the culprit.

For whatever reason, although I am logged-in to Adobe Forums, I cannot post a reply to a message that was posted in reply to my original message (which began the discussion). A blank white space, barely discernible, is displayed below the two lines with their respective radion buttons for "Yes my question was answered." and "No, my question was not answered." The choice is "No", but I did not ask any question(s) to begin with.
Instead, I posted three screenshots which showed problems that I encountered while attempting to download and install the most recent update to Adobe Reader for Firefox. Someone posted a reply that the same problem occurs with Opera. I wanted to tell him that Firefox, Safari and Opera all use the same add-on for Adobe Reader.
But there was no way that I could discover to enter any text into the field for it. Javascript was enabled, or I would not have been able to use the Reply feature to access the screen on which the message was to be composed. The field never contained a cursor, regardless of my attempts to cause one to appear, whether with the mouse or with the keyboard. Please understand that I do NOT have any desire whatsoever to go to Jive Software, open an "account" with them, and attempt to engage in some problem-solving for their software. I am not a beta-tester!! My name and other data about me is in far too many databases as it is. If you can't hire people whose product works, then DIY.
In fact, Adobe's use of subcontractors has become very alienating. When I attempted to update Adobe Reader on the evening of July 29, the process was a travesty. First, it was not clear whether the update in which the security vulnerablilities have been corrected was available, let alone installed. This is partly because your website maintainer(s) are too ignorant, or too lazy, to post the entire version number of the current Adobe Reader release. They just post "version 9.1" and omit anything after it. So they don't have to update the page until either of the two digits change. But it is the digits that follow "9.1." which disclose whether the version that I'm about to download (http://www.adobe.com/downloads) is the one that is already installed, or a version that is subsequent. Perhaps you are afraid that disclosing technical data that is actually useful will intimidate and alienate the artists and writers who are the primary users of your products (you're lucky that they aren't all running the Apple MacIntosh instead). But I doubt that will happen. It is the failure to disclose such data that will eventually alienate EVERYONE.
For what it is worth to you, I have posted the message text below at the following link:
http://techrepublic.com.com/5208-12846-0.html?forumID=102&threadID=314113&messageID=313100 9&alertspromo=100901&tag=nl.rCOMBINED
What makes a difference is
http://www.get.adobe.com instead of http://www.adobe.com/downloads.
{Update 2009-08-01: when I tried the first link with Firefox 3.5.1 today, Embarq, my ISP, displayed what used to be an HTTP 404 (?) error message but now is an Embarq website page that leaves you wondering why you are looking at it instead of what you wanted. I don't know what has happened to the first URL, but that was what Securnia PSI used during its downloads of the updates, as described below.}
I have used the second one for years, but now it has nothing but problems. Thanks for the link to the IE 8 download. What I did this evening was to first run Windows Update (with IE 7).
The MS update site offered: (A) upgrade to I.E. 8, (B) cumulative security update for I.E. 7 KB972260, and (C) Silverlight update to ver. 3.0.40723.0 KB970363. The one for Silverlight surprised me; it wasn't there on Tuesday 14 July. After all of them were installed, I ran I.E. 8 just to go through its initial configuration routine, so that it should not interfere with subsequently updating any add-ons.
Then I ran Secunia PSI and had it do a new scan. It reported updates: (A) for Adobe Air; (B) Adobe Flash Player (ActiveX) to 10.0.32.18; (C) Adobe Flash Player (General Plug-In) to 10.0.32.18; and (D) Shockwave Player 11.5.1.601. I used the Secunia "Download Solution" feature for each one; it obtained the respective updates from http://www.get.adobe.com. Secunia continued reporting the Flash Player version as 10.2.22.87 until I deleted Flash10b.ocx from the C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash directory; the current one is Flash10c.ocx.
Curiously, Secunia did not report Adobe Reader as insecure or outdated, on my computer. AcroRd32.exe Properties > Version showed Version: 9.1.0.163 but also displayed File Version and Product Version as 9.1.0.2009022700. Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs reported the Adobe Reader version as 9.1.2. Go figure.
However, updating Adobe Reader via http://www.adobe.com/downloads on July 29 required installing two Firefox add-ons: an extension for the Adobe Download Manager, and a plug-in "getPlus+ for Adobe 16236" (if my memory is correct). Of course, there were a couple of .exe files under the radar in C:\Program Files\NOS and some more in C:\Documents and Settings\...\Application Data\NOS. After all of that, I subsequently learned, from looking at the Secunia report for I.E. Secure Browsing, that "NOS Microsystems getPlus ActiveX Control 1.x" is "insecure, no solution".
Already I wasn't happy about having one of the NOS executables installed as a service, as though that is what the memory must contain after every system boot. And I didn't like Yet Another Firefox Extension just for the convenience of one particular software developer and/or their distributor. Firefox already loads slower than I like and adding YAFFX like that makes it even slower to load.
So I uninstalled Adobe Reader and all of its Additional Ware from NOS; I found files from both all over the HDD. I think that I deleted everything that I don't want or need although the I.E. NOS ActiveX control remains. I have never downloaded a .PDF, or looked at one, with I.E. and I don't plan to, so maybe I should just get rid of that one, too, if I can.
For the time being, at least, I'll be looking at .PDF files with Foxit. Of course, Adobe Flash Player and Shockwave Player remain installed, with Adobe AIR and Adobe Download Manager.

As of this writing, I do not have any Adobe or NOS add-ons (extension or plug-in) installed in Firefox, and I am planning to remove the insecure ActiveX Control that has been installed for Internet Explorer 8.
Continue to follow your current strategy, and you won't have the burdens of maintaining either Adobe Flash Player or Shockwave Player as well. I had Adobe Media Player installed, but I removed it since I've never found a reason to run it.Hi, Kath H.,
I hope that you heeded the warnings. Adobe has, however, released updates in which the security flaws have been corrected. From my reading of posts on some (non-Adobe) forums, what everyone has a problem finding is where to download the updates and/or to install them directly online.
The customary location is: http://www.adobe.com/downloads.
You will find three "buttons" labeled "Get Adobe Reader", "Get Adobe AIR", "Get Adobe Flash Player" and one hyperlink for "Get Shockwave Player". You need to update the ones that are installed on your computer (usually, at least Flash Player and Shockwave Player). The website button will automatically present you with the version that is appropriate for the browser that you are running at the time that you access the download.
BTW, please be aware that what I found at the customary Adobe downloads website on July 31 for Adobe Reader and Firefox was a travesty. I don't know whether Adobe has taken corrective measures since, but their "instructions for Firefox users" were outdated and simply wrong. I had already updated Adobe Reader on July 29, but I was not sure that I had actually obtained the update, since some people were reporting that they had to do it twice before it was installed correctly.
Something that may interest you is Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI). It inventories all of the software on your computer, and compares (via the Internet) each version that it finds to the Secunia database to check whether it is up-to-date, or it might be known to contain security flaws. An individual user can download, install and use Secunia PSI without charge (commercial use requires a license). You can obtain it from:
http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/
One feature is that, after Secunia PSI runs a "scan" of your software, it displays any "insecure" programs on a tab labeled "Insecure". Each entry has a [+] box which is expandable into an explanation, and a toolbar at the bottom with several actions that you can take, the first being "Download Solution" (when the software developer or publisher has a software update available). That is what I used to update the "insecure" Adobe Flash Player and Shockwave Player add-ons for Firefox (and for I.E., also, which I have installed but don't run often). Secunia PSI downloaded them from https://www.get.adobe.com but I haven't been able to connect there with the browser.
Since Secunia PSI did not report Adobe Reader as insecure, I have supposed that it was updated. (You can scan my first post here to find out why I uninstalled it and installed Foxit instead!)

Need get a distribution license of Flash Player for Swfkit
hi , i use swfkit 3.5 for create standlone desktop Flash
swfkit have a Flash_player_activex version 9 that will be install if the system not reconize flash player on windows .
but now i really need to ugrade and use version 11 of flash player
i dont know how the swfkit company make this Flash player Activex cause it`s only 2 mB and when i run it , it`s install files on silent mode
so when i try to replace the new version of Flash player from Adobe Website For example 11 , my desktop Autorun cant install this replaced player and Show error !!
here is part of help in swfkit :
The .exe files built by SWFKit requires the Flash Player to run. However, the end user' computers may have no flash player installed. The "standalone" option in SWFKit resolves this problem. If you check this option, a most current version of flash player will be packed into the output .exe files. When such a stand alone .exe file is launched and it finds that there is no flash player in system, or the flash player in system is of the older version, it will use the packed flash player.
The flash player that will be packed into a stand alone .exe file resides in the data subfolder of the folder that SWFKit was installed into. E.g. a typical path is "c:\program files\SWFKit Pro 3\data". The file name of the flash player is "install_flash_player_active_x.exe", whose version is 9.0.16.0. If Adobe upgrades it, SWFKit will download it automatically by using the auto update feature. Another important file about the flash player is the flash_player.ini, which defines the version and file name of the flash player. If you want to use some special version of flash player, you can copy it into the folder and modify the flash_player.ini file. SWFKit will read the information of the flash player to create stand alone .exe files from the flash_player.ini file. The flash player should be an installer of the flash player that can be downloaded from Adobe after you get a distribution license.
Because we have got a distribution license from Adobe, our distribution of the flash player is legal.
so how can i get a distribution license for new Adobe Flash player ??
i extract old flash player activex pack and i see only 2 files : Flash10b.ocx & FlashUtil10b
i`m very confused and i really need to be update the flash player activex of this software , unfortantly swfkit company webtite is down and they not support us anymoreHello,
If your distribution license is current, you can download the latest version from the distribution page, http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html.
If your distribution license is not current, you can apply for a new license at http://www.adobe.com/products/players/flash-player-distribution.html.

Adobe Flash Player Installation
Dear Support Team,
My Adobe Flash Player release 9 was running fine. When I try
update to release 10 I get a error message and installation end.
After that my flash player does not run.
I tried your tn_19166 procedures without success (your
installation program recomends). When I tried register the
flash10b.ocx manually I get the follow return code: 0x8002801c.
It's make a sense to you?
Have you solution for my problem.
Thanks.Try my much simpler solution to the problem.
Delete the following folder: "C:/Windows/Downloaded Program
Files"
This is the folder that holds all of the OCX's for Internet
Explorer. By deleting the folder, you force IE to rebuild this
folder by re-downloading each the next time they are used.
This is SOP at the company I work for to fix a broken ActiveX
control issue, which it sounds like you are having.
After deleting this folder you should be able to install
player 10 no problem.
