Floating Banner Ad Issue

Hi All,
I am facing a weired problem in my webpage.
I am having a html page, which embeds the windows media
player object and one banner ad. This banner ad i am getting from
another vendor.
In my page i have to call this ad like the below code.
<script language="JavaScript" src="
http://mythridpartyvendorsite.com?...">
</script>
and I have a media player that code in html as follows.
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
document.write ("<OBJECT id='videoFrame_Player'
classid='CLSID:6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6' height='300px'
width='400px' type='application/x-mplayer2' viewastext>")
document.write ("<para name='url' value
='http:myurl.com'>)
..............................other parameter etc
</script>
When the expandable banner ad runs in this page. When I
mouseover on the "AD" that will expand. when I click the close
button of the "AD" it stops my windows media player.
I am not sure why its happening and how its happening.
Because I flash banner ad comes from some vendor.
I did some research on this. I think when these ad trying to
communicate to the posted server, looks like its stops my media
player. Is this related to any security on flash?
If someone knows or comeacross this issue. please update me.
This is really helpful for my page.
Thanks.

You'll have to post a link to the webpage or the code
You cannot lose until you give up !!!

  • Inline functions in C, gcc optimization and floating point arithmetic issues

    For several days I really have become a fan of Alchemy. But after intensive testing I have found several issues which I'd like to solve but I can't without any help.
    So...I'm porting an old game console emulator written by me in ANSI C. The code is working on both gcc and VisualStudio without any modification or crosscompile macros. The only platform code is the audio and video output which is out of scope, because I have ported audio and video witin AS3.
    Here are the issues:
    1. Inline functions - Having only a single inline function makes the code working incorrectly (although not crashing) even if any optimization is enabled or not (-O0 or O3). My current workarround is converting the inline functions to macros which achieves the same effect. Any ideas why inline functions break the code?
    2. Compiler optimizations - well, my project consists of many C files one of which is called flash.c and it contains the main and exported functions. I build the project as follows:
    gcc -c flash.c -O0 -o flash.o     //Please note the -O0 option!!!
    gcc -c file1.c -O3 -o file1.o
    gcc -c file2.c -O3 -o file2.o
    ... and so on
    gcc *.o -swc -O0 -o emu.swc   //Please note the -O0 option again!!!
    mxmlc.exe -library-path+=emu.swc --target-player=10.0.0 Emu.as
    or file in $( ls *.o ) //Removes the obj files
        do
            rm $file
        done
    If I define any option different from -O0 in gcc -c flash.c -O0 -o flash.o the program stops working correctly exactly as in the inline funtions code (but still does not crash or prints any errors in debug). flash has 4 static functions to be exported to AS3 and the main function. Do you know why?
    If I define any option different from -O0 in gcc *.o -swc -O0 -o emu.swc  the program stops working correctly exactly as above, but if I specify -O1, -O2 or O3 the SWC file gets smaller up to 2x for O3. Why? Is there a method to optimize all the obj files except flash.o because I suspect a similar issue as when compilling it?
    3. Flating point issues - this is the worst one. My code is mainly based on integer arithmetic but on 1-2 places it requires flating point arithmetic. One of them is the conversion of 16-bit 44.1 Khz sound buffer to a float buffer with same sample rate but with samples in the range from -1.0 to 1.0.
    My code:
    void audio_prepare_as()
        uint32 i;
        for(i=0;i<audioSamples;i+=2)
            audiobuffer[i] = (float)snd.buffer[i]/32768;
            audiobuffer[i+1] = (float)snd.buffer[i+1]/32768;
    My audio playback is working perfectly. But not if using the above conversion and I have inspected the float numbers - all incorrect and invalid. I tried other code with simple floats - same story. As if alchemy refuses to work with floats. What is wrong? I have another lace whre I must resize the framebuffer and there I have a float involved - same crap. Please help me?
    Found the floating point problem: audiobuffer is written to a ByteArray and then used in AS. But C floats are obviously not the same as those in AS3. Now the floating point is resolved.
    The optimization issues remain! I really need to speed up my code.
    Thank you in advice!

    Dear Bernd,
    I am still unable to run the optimizations and turn on the inline functions. None of the inline functions contain any stdli function just pure asignments, reads, simple arithmetic and bitwise operations.
    In fact, the file containing the main function and those functions for export in AS3 did have memset and memcpy. I tried your suggestion and put the code above the functions calling memset and memcpy. It did not work soe I put the code in a header which is included topmost in each C file. The only system header I use is malloc.h and it is included topmost. In other C file I use pow, sin and log10 from math.h but I removed it and made the same thing:
    //shared.h
    #ifndef _SHARED_H_
    #define _SHARED_H_
    #include <malloc.h>
    static void * custom_memmove( void * destination, const void * source, unsigned int num ) {
      void *result;
      __asm__("%0 memmove(%1, %2, %3)\n" : "=r"(result) : "r"(destination), "r"(source), "r"(num));
      return result;
    static void * custom_memcpy ( void * destination, const void * source, unsigned int num ) {
      void *result;
      __asm__("%0 memcpy(%1, %2, %3)\n" : "=r"(result) : "r"(destination), "r"(source), "r"(num));
      return result;
    static void * custom_memset ( void * ptr, int value, unsigned int num ) {
      void *result;
      __asm__("%0 memset(%1, %2, %3)\n" : "=r"(result) : "r"(ptr), "r"(value), "r"(num));
      return result;
    static float custom_pow(float x, int y) {
        float result;
      __asm__("%0 pow(%1, %2)\n" : "=r"(result) : "r"(x), "r"(y));
      return result;
    static double custom_sin(double x) {
        double result;
      __asm__("%0 sin(%1)\n" : "=r"(result) : "r"(x));
      return result;
    static double custom_log10(double x) {
        double result;
      __asm__("%0 log10(%1)\n" : "=r"(result) : "r"(x));
      return result;
    #define memmove custom_memmove
    #define memcpy custom_memcpy
    #define memset custom_memset
    #define pow custom_pow
    #define sin custom_sin
    #define log10 custom_log10
    #include "types.h"
    #include "macros.h"
    #include "m68k.h"
    #include "z80.h"
    #include "genesis.h"

    #include "sound.h"
    #include "fm.h"
    #include "sn76496.h"
    #endif /* _SHARED_H_ */
    It still behave the same way as if nothing was changed (works incorrectly - displays jerk which does not move, whereby the image is supposed to move)
    As I am porting an emulator (Sega Mega Drive) I use manu arrays of function pointers for implementing the opcodes of the CPU's. Could this be an issue?
    I did a workaround for the floating point problem but processing is very slow so I hear only bzzt bzzt but this is for now out of scope. The emulator compiled with gcc runs at 300 fps on a 1.3 GHz machine, whereby my non optimized AVM2 code compiled by alchemy produces 14 fps. The pure rendering is super fast and the problem lies in the computational power of AVM. The frame buffer and the enulation are generated in the C code and only the pixels are copied to AS3, where they are plotted in a BitmapData. On 2.0 GHz Dual core I achieved only 21 fps. Goal is 60 fps to have smooth audio and video. But this is offtopic. After all everything works (slow) without optimization, and I would somehow turn it on. Suggestions?
    Here is the file with the main function:
    #include "shared.h"
    #include "AS3.h"

  • Float point round issue

    hi
      here is a problem: i have created cubes, transfer role, update role etc...
    and i transport these elements from develop server to production server.
    In develop server, when i upload data, the data float point would not be changed,
    not be rounded, but in production server, the float data has been rounded.
    and the transfer role, update role are the same between develop and production server, can someone helps me? hunger for your advice, thanks !!

    thanks,but that place is for Decimal Notation.i mean the data has been rounded in production server ,
    eg :
    before upload
    123.678
    after upload
    124
    so i think the decimal notation setting isn't the point.

  • Subscription banner link issue

    I'm trying to set up a free app in the newstand with itunes subscription.
    I'm currently testing the dev app on an ipad and for some reason the subscription button and banner link don't work.
    When I click on it, I see Purchasing subscription at the top but then nothing happens.
    I have configured the shared secret in the dps account administration pannel.
    I have created a 1 in-app purchase with this product ID "com.cnq.entracte.gratuit". The same product ID is used in the dps app builder.
    What am I missing?

    This mostly depends on the load of the Apple SandBox environment, we have seen up to 3 minutes of responsetime.
    Klick your purchase button and get a cup of coffee, maybe when you come back, the transaction has finnished.
    -M.

  • Ssh: /etc/issue display between login and password prompts

    Hi All,
    I currently have ssh installed on one a Solaris 10 (non-global) zone. I have configured the sshd_config to run on protocol 2 and unhashed the 'Banner /etc/issue' parameter.
    When I attempt to log into this zone via ssh I get (in this order)...
    1. A login prompt
    2. The message I have put in /etc/issue
    3. A password prompt.
    Is there some further configuration I need to consider here?
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks.

    Sorry, it's probably worth mentioning that what i would ultimately like to do is have the message in /etc/issue display itself prior to asking for a login, not after as it currently is.
    Thanks.

  • Floating Banners and message Virus, How do I remove it?

    Hi, I'm having a problem, everytime I search for anything, a floating banner appears in the lower part of my search. sometimes I close the banner, but another one appears and I also have a message in each page that said : "This page as insecure content, Load anyway or don't load (recommended)", eventhough I always said "Don't Load" it keeps appearing... Do anyone can help me remove it? please its really anoying!
    Thank you

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
    Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
    Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
    Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
    After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • How do I get a header image to span the width of the screen without getting distorted?

    I've just finished two online classes for Dreamweaver through Ed2go and have a reasonable idea of HTML and CSS. What I'm trying to do is a re-make of my personal web site (www.astral-imaging.com) that I display my astronomy images using all CSS layout and proper HTML coding. The existing site was done long ago using FrontPage and is loaded with tables and nested tables for layout. I need to make several templates for repeated pages but I'm lost on how to create my header banner. I've used Photoshop CS5 to create what I want to use and saved it as a .JPG file. The original canvas size is 1000x200 pixels but I also want the site to use a liquid template so that if the viewer is using a monitor at 1024 width or higher the page will fill the screen.
    My target audience is mostly people in astronomy groups that I participate with and their screen resolutions will most like be 1280 and up. The images posted are usually 1000, 2000, and 3000 pixels wide. The reason for this is that there is very faint and small detail in these images and the larger sizes allows the viewer to scroll around in the full sized images to see this detail. There are links so the viewer has a choice of how large an image they want to view. So this explains my rational behind the sizing and I'm left with how to make the header expand without distorting to various sized displays. Below is what I had designed. Am I asking for too much or just a bit too green to know what to do? Any suggestions would be extremely welcomed. The PSD file has the separate 4 layers. What I have though about is the header being multiple images:
    the actual background gradient image
    the DRO info floated left
    Glimpses of Our Universe centered
    image floated right
    Only issue is I'm not sure if this will work and if so what is the proper coding? I think there needs to be a div container and although I know how to create the div, inserting multiple items into it and using CSS to style them is confusing me. Is there a link to information on DIVs that would help explain this. From what I've seen from my Google searches I haven't seen anything that addresses this. Maybe I need better search terms.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Nancy,
    I appreciate the feed back but this doesn't extend the banner across the page. I understand the header background color filling in the area to the right of the banner image as well as the background color of the body tag. I guess what I'm wondering is if it's possible to have multiple images in the header div tag? I may not even be explaining this correctly. If I were using a table to lay this out it would have 1 row and 3 columns with the gradient image as the background in all 3. I could keep the cell width set to a fixed number for the right and left cell while center cell would be able to span the remainder of the screen width to fill across the top of the page. The hight would adjust to maintain the aspect ratio. Does this make any sense?
    Basically the code below is what I'm after but using CSS to lay it out and not a table:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    <style type="text/css">
    table {
    background-image: url(images/banner_background.png);
    text-align: left;
    body {
    background-color: #000;
    .center {
    text-align: center;
    background-image: url(images/banner_background.png);
    .right {
    background-image: url(images/banner_background.png);
    margin: 1px;
    padding: 0px;
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
      <tr>
        <th width="22%" scope="col"><img src="images/DRO_trans.png" width="325" height="200"></th>
        <th width="59%" class="center" scope="col"><img src="images/glimpses-astral.png" width="450" height="120"></th>
        <th width="19%" scope="col"><img src="images/Thor-3rd-300.jpg" width="300" height="198" alt="Thor's Helmet"></th>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td colspan="3"> </td>
      </tr>
    </table>
    </body>
    </html>

  • [Solved] SSH not working (ISP blocks my port 22)

    OK full story:
    I want to be able to connect to my home arch linux box from school. The setup there are winxp machines whit putty on my usb or the pc itself. I know that my school is not blocking any ports as my friend can connect to his linux box at home. (also ssh)
    These are things i did and can think of i need to to do get ssh working:
    Before everything else i started to configure my Linsys router.
    My ISP gives me an Dynamic IP so i need to use the dyndns.org service. I made an account and configured my linsys router DDNS tab to work with the account. I got into the port forward tab an putted in ssh port forwarding (on port 22 TCP for my ip 192.168.1.102 => did ifconfig to be sure). Port forwarding for port 9091 is also on for my transmission webgui i'm saying this here because this works when i'm at school.

    # pacman -S openssh

    ssh -p 22 xxxxxx.dyndns.org => works (xxx replaced by my dyndns.org domain)
    ssh -p 22 9x.xxx.xxx.xx5 => works (xxx is my normal WAN ip offcourse)
    Keep in mind that transsmission port forwarding is working fine. I can connect from everywhere to my webgui wich is on port 9091. Anyone can help me get whats wrong?

    Wild guess but:
    # /etc/hosts.allow
    SSHD: ALL
    # End of file
    I don't know if this is case-sensitive, but if it is: it should be "sshd".
    If it doesn't work, doesnt hurt to try.

  • X11 Forwarding with SSH not working [SOLVED]

    I'm trying to follow the X11 forwarding guide on the wiki but to no avail.
    I'm using Putty and Xming from a Windows machine to SSH into the ArchLinux machine over my home network.
    When I log in through SSH with X11 forwarding enabled, my display variable is set to "localhost:10.0". Running xclock gives me the following error: "Error: Can't open display: localhost:10.0".
    I'm pretty sure Xming isn't the problem, since if I manually change the DISPLAY variable to "[my windows machine IP]:0.0", I can run xclock and see it appear.
    From what I can see, it should be working.

  • Assembler in C-code for Alchemy

    Hello all!
    I aspire to reach high performance my left unfinished 3D-renderer for Flash-player. Soon enough I have understood that my ActionScript-code is doomed. Then I have started to learn Alchemy. And thanks to the help Bernd Paradies could transfer any data in the C-code and take away the ready image in the form of ByteArray. And it was essential faster. The same calculations occupying 10-15 seconds, now were measured by milliseconds.
    Wishing to move ahead further, I want to add still productivity in my code.
    I saw some topics about assembler and Alchemy.
    Also I understand what to use "x86-asm-code" in Alchemy it is impossible.
    But I want to ask. I can use "FlashPlayer-llvm-asm-code" in my C-code and in what type?
    Especially I am interested in operations of data transfer and floating point operations between registers (without using variables in memory) interest.

    Hello svolatch123,
    in this forum you'll find some posts about optimizations involving inline assembly code, i.e.:
         optimizing abc-code
         http://forums.adobe.com/thread/686022
         inline functions in C, gcc optimization and floating point arithmetic issues
         http://forums.adobe.com/thread/660099
    But in general I would avoid optimizations at the inline assembler level. Instead I would use profile your app and use the results to zoom in on specific areas that your optimizations will benefit from. You may have already done that and identified floating point calculations as one of those areas. If floating point calculations are your problem then you might be able to get better performance by using integer math internally (if that's possible). This technique is used by programs like Donald Knuth's TeX. The idea is that you do your math in integer units of floats (i.e. 1.234cm = 1 unit, 2 * 3 = 6 units = 6 * 1.234cm = 7.404cm).
    Another performance hog that will probably show up in your profiling results will probably point you to the fact that crossing the border between AS3 and C world (calling from AS3 code into Alchemy-C code and vice versa) is very expensive. You'll get good performance improvements by reducing calls that cross that boundary.
    If there is a piece of code in particular that you need to optimize I would post it here in this forum.
    I am sure you'll find help here.
    Best wishes,
    - Bernd

  • Possible to physically downsize images in flash - not just by compression?

    I create a lot of banner ads for my work and they vary in small and superlarge sizes with product/price info. We recently upgraded to CS 5.5. and I am now working on setting up my workflow as a project to be more efficient.
    The smallest banner is 300x95 and the biggest is 980x500 - just to demonstrate the size difference. They should both have the same productinfo inside and I would love it if I could have one assetfile for all product info - including the product image - but because of the obvious banner filesize issues I can't just drop a 500px tall image into the assetfile and use this on all bannersizes because even if I scale it down in the smaller banners Flash will still export it as a 500px tall image.
    Is there any way in Flash to physically downsize the file when scaling it? I haven't seen this anywhere inside Flash, so I don't think it is possible.. but maybe with an extension that I don't know about..? *hopeful*

    i'm not sure what you're wishing for.  if your various banners had the same aspect ratio, you could reasonably hope for a one project app that could be adapted to the various banners.  but with differing aspect ratios, it doesn't seem likely that there's a consistant way to resize the assets from one banner to another.

  • User equivalence check failure in oracle10g RAC installation on solaris

    Hi,
    i am trying to install oracle clusterware on solaris10.
    when i executed clusture varification utility , user equivalence test is failed.
    each node have same username,userid,group id
    and i configured SSH also using
    exec /user/bin/ssh-agent
    /usr/bin/ssh-add after generation of rsa and dsa keys and putting this to authorization file.
    it is not asking password for ssh and scp after executing this command but again user equivalence check failed
    but after logging of and do login again to oracle user its not working. then again i have to set ssh that is
    exec /user/bin/ssh-agent
    /usr/bin/ssh-add
    wat else i have to check for this?
    can sombody help me to solve this

    $ eval 'ssh-agent'
    SSH_AUTH_SOCK=/tmp/ssh-GJAo3653/agent.3653; export SSH_AUTH_SOCK;
    SSH_AGENT_PID=3654; export SSH_AGENT_PID;
    echo Agent pid 3654;
    $ /usr/bin/ssh-add
    Could not open a connection to your authentication agent.What shell are you using?
    Back to user equivalence:
    1. Ensure that /etc/motd is empty (You can't get some text after login)
    2. Ensure that /etc/issue is empty or "Banner /etc/issue" is not set in /etc/ssh/sshd_config
    3. Ensure that you have stored short hostnames and also FQDN in your known_hosts file
    You shouldn't get this type of message: The authenticity of host 'computername (IP)' can't be established.
    RSA key fingerprint is ...
    Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)?If you got this message executes commands on both of nodes (as user oracle) as in example:
    $ ssh oracle@pc000905
    $ ssh [email protected]
    $ ssh oracle@pc026376
    $ ssh [email protected] Ensure that your RSH is setup correctly.

    a. rename existing rsh binaries (see example below)
    b. create symlinks to equivalent ssh utilities (see example below)
    c. create symlinks for ssh and rsh (faked rsh) under /usr/local/bin directory
    Note: these actions need to be done by root user.
    cd /usr/bin
    mv rsh rsh_old
    mv rcp rcp_old
    ln -s /usr/bin/ssh rsh
    ln -s /usr/bin/scp rcp
    cd /usr/local/bin
    ln -s /usr/bin/ssh ssh
    ln -s /usr/bin/ssh rsh
    ln -s /usr/bin/scp scp
    ln -s /usr/bin/scp rcp

  • Business rule for compare data in form

    Hi all,
    Let us explain my scenario,
    I have 2 dynamic calc members in a dataform. I just want to compare those 2 member rows( data compare) and show some message.
    is there any way i can make?
    can i create one business rule to make this happend? is it possible? If its possible can you give me your thoughts on this.
    Any information would be helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

    Sorry about that . . . . I read the first post and assumed the code was related to a business rule instead of JavaScript - should have looked closer.
    I would do a couple of things:
    1) Simplify your code. Why have a separate function? Why not drop all the logic into validateForm?
    2) Why haven't you populated the app name and form name in validateForm? (sorry if I missed this in the rest of the post somewhere)
    3) Insert alerts within the code that cycles through the cells. Something like this:
    cellVal = getCellValueXY(col,row);
    alert(" Column: " + col + "\n" +
    " Row: " + row + "\n" +
    " Cell Value: " + cellVal);
    This will tell you exactly how your JavaScript is evaluating each cell. This can help when you're dealing with floating point decimal issues. (you entered 10, but it's being evaluated as 10.00000001) If this ends up being your issue (floating point issues), let me know and I'll show you how to get around this.
    If you throw enough alerts at this code, your issue will finally show itself.
    4) I wouldn't assign values to "startCol" and "numberGridCols". I believe these variables are set elsewhere in the code (not in YOUR code, but in EnterData.js or somewhere else).
    Instead, I would use my own variables
    5) I would structure the code more like this: (I haven't validated this or tested it . . . . use this for suggestion purposes only)
    function validateForm()
    var valid = true;
    var c;
    if (equalsIgnoreCase(applicationName,"PUT YOUR APP NAME HERE")) {
    if (equalsIgnoreCase(formName,"PUT YOUR FORM NAME HERE")) {
    for (c=3; c<numCols; c++) {
    if((grid23[c] != missing) || (grid24[c] != missing)) {
    var actualVal = getCellVal(23,c);
    var budgetVal = getCellVal(24,c);
    if(actualVal != budgetVal){
    valid = false;
    if (!validated) {
    alert("The numbers you have submitted for SII are not equal to Actuals. Please adjust your numbers.\n");
    return valid;
    I hope this helps. Hopefully there aren't too many bugs in this.

  • Images look oversharpened in flash

    I did a short flash banner and the images in it (computer
    memory modules)
    look over sharpened when viewed. If I zoom in on the banner,
    the issue goes
    away, but at normal zoom (100%), the images look bad. There
    are other still
    images on the page that are just as small and look fine.
    Seems Flash is
    doing something to them. Anyone had this issue?

    Flash is not doing anything to them. Make sure they are
    placed on whole
    pixel values and at 100% size... Other than that, Flash
    displays an image
    like any other program.

  • Configuration of sshd to allow port forwarding (tunneling)?

    I'm having a tough time setting up my sshd daemon to allow me to tunnel.  I use the following to connect and get these bind errors as shown below:

    Here my functional sshd_config that I use as a socks proxy -- keep in mind this is using key authentication, so don't lock yourself out by accident! Notice you have to define the port you are using -- make sure first it's not being used by another application, which could also result in the error message you saw.
    I setup the socks proxy on the client machine by: ssh -fND <localport> -l <login> -p <server port> <location>
    so if you have sshd running on port 7000 on your server: ssh -fND 7000 -l graysky -p 7000 bigbox.
    (although without the -l and -p if bigbox is defined in .ssh/config)
