FM req to read the text data of the Delivery(TCode-VL02n) In MM

Hi
Plz tell me the way to read the text data stored in the TAB->TEXT in the TCODE-VL02n for outbound delivery in MM.
I need the WMT Quanity filed name & its respective table,plz tell me if any one know or if exots there an FM to fetch this data.
Regds

Try it like this:
      call function 'READ_TEXT'
        exporting
          id              = '0001'       "<------This will change for type of text
          language        = sy-langu
          name            = tdname
          object          = 'VBBK'
        importing
          header          = xthead
        tables
          lines           = tlinetab
        exceptions
          id              = 01
          language        = 02
          name            = 03
          not_found       = 04
          object          = 05
          reference_check = 06.
Also, read the documentation that comes with this function module.

    The Step goes on till like 3000, I am creating an object for each step which inturn has nested object for each well and the well in turn for each layer. In the above case of step 3 the object would be
    class Step 2{
    inner class well
    {     //for well 1
    inner class layer { // for layer 1 }
    inner class layer {/ for layer 2  }
    inner class layer {/ for layer 3  }
    inner class well
    {     //for well 2
    inner class layer { // for layer 1 }
    inner class layer {/ for layer 2  }
    inner class layer {/ for layer 3  }
    This architecture of mine is proving to be heavy as I would end up with around 9000 Java objects in memory, though my classes only have have int, float, String data items. I am using this data to plot graphs, so I guess it wouldnt be optimal to read data from text file for each plot.
    So in short the problem is can anyone tell a better way to read the data into memory ? given that there could be 3000 steps in the format given above.
    Thanks
    AM

    I have implemented and it takes around 30-45 sec to parse and also the GUI has become very slow. I query the objects for multiple combinations of graphs.
    The data from the objects is being used to feed the graphs on my GUI. I have a number of options on my GUI for different kinds of graphs, for each combination chosen the Objects are queried for the data. The GUI is written using Swing.
    So is there anyway I can fine tune the application, any tips about the object architecture or how to improve the speed. I am also explicitly running the garbage collector a few times in my program. Also how can I make JVM occupy lesser memory so that my program can have more memory.
    Thanks

  • How to change QCI data in Outbound Delivery Order (VL02N)

    HI,
    Dear ABAP Experts,
    I need to over ride standard Quantity conversion interface data in Outbound Delivery Order with user specific data. Go to VL02N and select item number and click on ‘Additional Quantities’ button we can see all SAP calculated QCI data for that item. I need to over write these values with User specific data in VL02N. When I do with BDC program I can update only few units what ever visible in QCI screen. When i scroll down or page down and add new values for other units, system is not capturing any function code for scroll or page down function.
    Please can anyone guide me if have any BAPI or FM to solve this issue. Delivery order is related to IS-OIL/HPM.
    Any help will highly appreciate…

    Try this FM to create Oubound delivery with QCI IS-OILS HPM, additional quantities.

  • How do I write a vi that will save graph data and text data (related to the graph) so the next time I want to view the graph data the text data is included in the read vi?

    I am new at writing vi's and hope you may be able to help. I would like to create a vi that will graph measurements taken from a daq device. I would like to include text data that a user can choose from (example: machine number, test circuit, load cell type) that will stay with the graph so when the graph is viewed at a later time the text data (explaining parts of the graph) will display with the graph data. I have included a vi I am using to capture and display a force value. Any help would be greatly appreicated.

    What you want is a DATALOG file:
    When you save a file, use the BUNDLE function to bundle your machine number, test circuit, whatever (include a few spare fields), plus your graph data. Get the graph data from the source, or use a local variable of the graph itself.
    Wire the bundle output to the DATALOG TYPE of a NEW FILE function. (I presume you'll use a FILE DIALOG set to SAVE FILE to choose a file path).
    Write the same bundle output to the DATA input of a WRITE FILE function.
    Use a CLOSE FILE function to (ahem) close the file.
    When you want to read a file, use a FILE DIALOG set to EXISTING FILE (or some other means) to specify what file to read. Wire the same cluster type to the DATALOG TYPE of the FILE DIALOG, so that it will only
    offer files of the correct type.
    When you have a file path chosen, wire the bundle to the DATALOG TYPE input of a FILE OPEN operation.
    Use a FILE READ to read a single cluster - the output of FILE READ will be a cluster of the right type.
    Use a CLOSE FILE function to....
    Out of the FILE READ function, you can UNBUNDLE BY NAME the data and send to the graph and the other fields, or, if you're clever, you can use a cluster on the screen, and not unbundle it. That's harder though, since you probably want the text fields to be controls (inputs) and the graph to be an indicator (output).
    Hope that helps.

    What I wanna do is to read all the data above and buffer them in a queue for each user( there are only 10 users in total).
    I already created a class called Class packet:
    public class packet {
        private int timestamp;
        private int user_id;
        private int packet_id;
        private int packet_seqno;
        private int packet_size;
        /** Creates a new instance of packet */
        public packet(int timestamp,int user_id, int packet_id,int packet_seqno, int packet_size)
            this.timestamp = timestamp;
            this.user_id=user_id;
            this.packet_id=packet_id;
            this.packet_seqno=packet_seqno;
            this.packet_size=packet_size;
    }then I wanna to create another Class called Class user which I can create a queue for each user (10 users in total) to store type packet information. the queue for each user will be in the order by timestamp.
    any idea and sample code will be appreciated.

    Doesn't sound too hard to me. Your class User (the convention says to capitalize class names) will have an ArrayList or Vector in it to represent the queue, and a method to store a Packet object into the List. An array or ArrayList or Vector will hold the 10 user objects. You will find the right user object from packet.user_id and call the method.
    Please try to write some code yourself. You won't learn anything from having someone else write it for you. Look at sample code using ArrayList and Vector, there's plenty out there. Post in the forum again if your code turns out not to behave.

  • JSF - Read a text file and diplay lines of text data on the web page

    Hello,
    For one of my projects, I need to display lines of text data on the web page using Java Server Faces Technology. The raw data could be from simple text files or sockets or anything. (Getting the data is not my issue but displaying is). Could anybody send answers with sample code. In servlet, one could do this by -
    public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
    throws IOException, ServletException{
    PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
    out.println("<html>");
    out.println(DATA);
    out.println(DATA);
    out.println("</html>");
    I am looking for similar solution.
    Thanks in advance

    Thanks mjolinor.  Works great!
    Two questions.
    1. Could you plz suggest how this could be modified so this code would read the file in or accept it from the pipeline instead of wrapping the (@' around the data?
    2. Could you plz briefly describe some of the details of the code so I can further research and understand.
    Thanks for your help.
    Thanks for your help! SdeDot
    1. It already reads in the file.  The (@' .. '@) bits are just there to create a file using your test data to demonstrate that it works.
    2.  Not user what kind of "details" you want.  There really isn't much there, and get-help on the cmdlets used should provide information on what's going on with them in that script.

  • Reading the binary data from a http request received via socket connection.

    1. I require to extract the binary data out of a http multipart request,
    2. I have a server socket opened up, which can receive connections over tcp( and therefore http.)
    3. I will require to read the stream, find out the "request boundary identifier", and then extract the different "request body parts".
    4. From there i need to read all of the binary content and put it in a file.
    5. I did some implementation to his effect. but i see that the file that i had uploaded initially if its not a text file, gets corrupted.

    can you please let me know why is that happening,Because you are using a Reader (which translates bytes to chars according to the charset encoding specified).

    The problem is in the delimiters in your text file. By default, Read From Spreadsheet File.vi expects a tab delimited file. You can specify a delimiter (like a space), but Read From Spreadsheet File.vi has a problem with repeated delimiters: if you specify a single space as a delimiter and Read From Spreadsheet File.vi finds two spaces back-to-back, it stops reading that line. Your file (as I got it from your earlier post) is delimited by 4 spaces.
    Here are some of your choices to fix your problem.
    1. Change the source file to a tab delimited file. Your VI will then run as is.
    2. Change the source file to be delimited by a single space (rather than 4), then wire a string constant containing one space to the delimiter input of Read From Spreadsheet File.vi.
    3. Wire a string constant containing 4 spaces to the delimiter input of Read From Spreadsheet File.vi. Then your text file will run as is.
    Depending on where your text file comes from (see more comments below), I'd vote for choice 1: a tab delimited text file. It's the most common text output of spreadsheet programs.
    Comments for choices 1 and 2: Where does the text file come from? Is it automatically generated or manually generated? Will it be generated multiple times or just once? If it's manually generated or generated just once, you can use any text editor to change 4 spaces to a tab or to a single space. Note: if you want to change it to a tab delimited file, you can't enter a tab directly into a box in the search & replace dialog of many programs like notepad, but you can do a cut and paste. Before you start your search and replace (just in the text window of the editor), press tab. A tab character will be entered. Press Shift-LeftArrow (not Backspace) to highlight the tab character. Press Ctrl-X to cut the tab character. Start your search and replace (Ctrl-H in notepad in Windows 2000). Click into the Find What box. Enter four spaces. Click into the Replace With box. Press Ctrl-V to paste the tab character. And another thing: older versions of notepad don't have search and replace. Use any editor or word processor that does.

    package java.io
    InputStream.read(): int
    Reads the next byte of data from the input stream.
    Implementation:
    InputStreamReader
    An InputStreamReader is a bridge from byte streams to character streams: It reads bytes and decodes them into characters using a specified charset. The charset that it uses may be specified by name or may be given explicitly, or the platform's default charset may be accepted.

    Hi Narendra,
    Please see the below code I have written
    OPEN DATASET pa_sfile for INPUT in text mode ENCODING  DEFAULT MESSAGE wf_mess.
    CHECK sy-subrc = 0.
    DO.
    READ DATASET pa_sfile INTO wf_string.
    IF sy-subrc <> 0.
    EXIT.
    else.
    split wf_string at wl_# into wf_field1 wf_field2 wa_upload-field3
    wa_upload-field4 wa_upload-field5 wa_upload-field6 wa_upload-field7 wa_upload-field8
    wa_upload-field9 wa_upload-field10 wa_upload-field11 wa_upload-field12 wa_upload-field13

    append wa_upload to int_upload.
    clear wa_upload.
    ENDIF.
    ENDDO.
    CLOSE DATASET pa_sfile.
    Please note Iam using ECC5.0 and it is not allowing me to declare wl_# as x as in your code.
    Also if Iam using text mode I should use extension encoding etc.( Where as not in your case).
    Please suggest me any other way.

  • Reading the data from dataset

    Hi all,
    Can i read the Data from more than one Dataset at a time ?
    If yes.. How ? If not...Why ?
    Thanks in Advance
    Krish...

    You can open up to 100 datasets at the same time for every internal session.
    For stability, put a TRY...CATCH...ENDTRY on these exceptions:
    CX_SY_FILE_OPEN
    CX_SY_TOO_MANY_FILES
    ...like this:
    TRY.
    OPEN DATASET sapfile FOR INPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
    [your code]
    CATCH: cx_sy_file_open,
           cx_sy_too_many_files.
    ENDCATCH.
    CLOSE DATASET sapfile.
    Hope this helps.

  • Populate a table reading the data from a TXT file

    how can I populate a table reading the data from a TXT file?
    thanks

    Hey Kevin!
    Using FORMS.TEXT_IO to bulk load data from a file strikes me as re-inventing the wheel. It is just about justifiable in a self-service environment, but I regard the EXTERNAL TABLE is a better solution for that situation as well.
    The same applies to UTL_FILE. I think the ability to read text with UTL_FILE is primarily intended for read file-based configuration or file manipulation/processing rather than data loading.
    Re-writing a text file into SQL statements is too much like hard work (even with an editor that supports macro definition and regular expressions) for no real benefit. You lose all the bulk load peformance you would get from SQL*Loader. But for QAD I'd probably let you off with it.
    You missed out one obvious alternative: using Java to turn the contents of an XML file into a CLOB and inserting it into a table which is read by a PL/SQL procedure that parses the XML records and insert the retrieved data into a table.
    Stay lucky, APC
