FM Service Activity Code derivation to commitment Item

Hi,
we are in the process of implementing BCS Fund Management. Our Client want to control budget for Service Activity code entered in Purchase Order.
So we want the derivation rule as Service Activity code derives commitment Item, but not found any standard way for same.
PLease suggest if any have done the same or any idea about it.
Thanks
Vijay

    Hi

  • Commitment item error at the time of Service entry Sheet

    Hi experts,
I have created a service PO, in which I have given the GL. Now when I am going to post the service entry sheet, I am changing the GL account. But system is picking the commitment item with reference to the GL earlier provided in PO.
I want to pick the commitment item with reference to the GL I am providing in service entry sheet.
Pl suggest how can I achieve this.
    Regards,
    Ankit Agarwal

    Hi Eli,
    Thanx for your response.
But derivation rule is same for all GL. Whether we put GL in PO or in Service entry sheet, system will derive the commitment item from the same single rule.

  • Commitment Item derivation from General Ledger

    Brothers!
we want the system should derive the Commitment item from the general ledger master record. But the system is not deriving the Commitment item from General ledger.
But as We read in the BCS Documentation, there are two way for derivation of Commitement Item. one from GL and other defining the derivation rule.
please advise us, why not the system is deriving the Commitment itm from GL.
My client  also  want the same
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Please check the attached note:
839488     Derivation of commitment item from G/L account:
As of Release EA-PS 2.00, you can use a derivation rule of type
"Function Module" with the function module
    FMDT_READ_MD_ACCOUNT_COMPANY "Read Account Master Data"
predefined by SAP in your derivation strategy (Transaction
FMDERIVE). The function module can return all fields of the G/L
account master record. You can receive the commitment item either
in the technical SAP internal format (field FIPOS, 14 characters)
or directly in the format that is generally used (field
CMMT_ITEM, 24 characters). The  company code and G/L account are
already preset as a source field, and the commitment item as a
target field, in the 24-character format.
So, you should define a derivation strategy (FMDERIVE) as type Function module and use function FMDT_READ_MD_ACCOUNT_COMPANY
    I hope this helps.

  • Commitment item can not derived from main asset number

    Dear all,
Our client have 1 G/L LVA and divided to many asset class LVA. Asset lva will post to general expense when run depreciation, and they want the acquisition/procurement of LVA should check the budget of the general expense.
It means the acquisition of LVA will check the budget of general expense, then no budget when run depreciation.
I already setting for no check budget for run depreciation. However, i found trouble when set the derivation from main asset number to commitment item. I want to set from main asset number because only 1 G/L LVA.
Derivation rule from main asset number not populated to commitment item which i'm expecting, example
FMDERIVE (1)   CI from main asset number (for acquisition)
                       asset number         CI
                      23000000000        7400000102
FMDERIVE  (2)  CI from g/l account
                       G/L acct.                CI
                     2290000001          2290000001
Because asset number 23000000000 assign to g/l 2290000001, then the tracing always read the g/l account, then derive to commititem 2290000001 NOT to 7400000102.
I already give many condition however it can not work. Even i deactivate fmderive (2), asset number can not populate to relevant commitment item.
Please give me advice how derive the commitment item from main asset number or relevan things.
    Regards,
    Dewi

    Hi Dewi
Please have a look at these notes which I think are interesting:
[736914|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/736914]     Budget relevance of asset transactions
    [1268001|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1268001] FI313 - No funds center entered/derived
So, if you need to derive the FMAA from the Asset master data, you could enable a derivation step calling function module FMDT_READ_MD_ASSET. Take care of following derivation steps which may be overwriting the derived values from FMDT_READ_MD_ASSET. See the trace log, according to note [666322|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/666322]

  • BADI For Commitment Item Change for Service PO

    Hi All,
I want to change the commitment item in the PR on change of Material Group . I used the BADI ME_PROCESS_REQ_CUST for changing the commitment item and its working fine for all types of PR except Service PR .
In service PR , its changing the commitment item only on clicking the Account Assigment button because at this instant only the BADI is getting trigger .
I want to change the commitment item without clicking the Account Assigment button (on pressing enter or at saving time ) .
    Is there any way ?
    Thanks
    Manik L Dhakate

We are using User Exit MEREQ  EXIT_SAPLMEREQ_010
In our PR creation for ME51n, we are validating the Person through HR Org structure at the Point of Key in his Cost Center, whether he belong to his Department cost center, we use this User Exit MEREQ  EXIT_SAPLMEREQ_010. If he doesnu2019t not belong, the message pop up as u201C Please use your department cost centeru201D. This works very good in case of NB Document Type (Non stock & Materials).
We have customized ZCPR (Service PRs), but for service PRs, the place where we enter Account Assignment is Different screen, either it is planned or unplanned service, the system take you to another separate screen to key in Cost Center & GL, here the validation is not happening,
Please suggest & advice us, we tried in this BADI : ME_PROCESS_REQ_CUST, we can fix it. Any User Exit or BADI for Service PRu2019

  • Derivation commitment item / GL account

When we create a payment request or another budget document, don't retrieve automatically the commitment item from the customer/vendor master record.
We need to create a derivation rule or there is any customizing transaction that solve it?
    Thank you.

    Hello Fran,
Regarding to your first question, you should have a derivation rule which derive the appropriate commitment item.
see this note for more info:
839488     Derivation of commitment item from G/L account
And for your 2nd question: Yes, depending on your postings, the system will consider the combination of Commitment items involved in your document.

  • Commitment Item Error in MB1C

    Dear Guru,
I am getting error while I am doing initial upload via MB1C.
    Error is:
No commitment item entered in item 00000 1000 399999
    Please help,

The posted document contains at least one company code in which Funds Management, Cash Budget Management, or Project Cash Management is active. Therefore you must enter a commitment item in all involved company codes.
    Procedure
         Enter a commitment item.
If you cannot enter a commitment item, check with your system administrator that your account assignment derivation is adjusted so that the system can automatically derive a commitment item from another  account assignment, or from the G/L or cost element.
If you are practicing in the IDES system and dont have an idea about this commitment item ,
you can go to OKKP & deactivate commitment management there in activate components.

  • Commitment Item error in Stock transport order

    Hi all
I have a stock transport order (STO) for a material non valuated in both sending and receiving plants.
While creation , there is an error with respect to completion of an "committment item" *.
If I input  the committment item in  STO create transaction in R3 , the STO is  saved  (permitting blank account assignment for the STO item  as intended)  and there is no further issue till post goods issue in sending plant or GR in receiving plant.
The problem is however that this STO is triggered from APO and transferred via CIF to R3 while there is no chance to input the commitment item. This results into a CIF error with the STO not created  in both R3 and APO.
Is there a way I could bypass this "committment stuff" in this situation?
    Thanks in advance
    Anton

  • PSM- No commitment item entered

    Hello,
I customized the FMDERIVE with derivation rules that include: cost center = Fund Center; cost element = commitment item and completed the tables with the equivalences.
Then I entered budget for the cost centers anda cost element include in the tables of FMDERIVE.
When I trying to post a FI document and use an account that is not include in FMDERIVE the system try to find a derivation rule and gives me the following error:
*No commitment item entered in item 00001 1000 1107001*

*If you cannot enter a commitment item, check with your system administrator that your account assignment derivation is adjusted so that the system can automatically derive a commitment item from another account assignment, or from the G/L or cost element.*
The point is that I want that only derive and make the availability control of the cost element that I included in FMDERIVE.
There are a way of doing that?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
Go to FMDERIVE, enter the test mode and activate the trace. The, try posting again your document; you will enter the FMDERIVE transaction and see whether your rules have been activated or not.

    Hi Deepa
Suppose when you post a document rs 5000 and you post the budget on that GL 4000, then system not post the document and give the errro Budget is exceed something.
In that case you check in SPRO -Public sector management -Fund management goverment -Actual & commitment update - integration - Active& deactive fund management
Here you check out fund management is active or deactive. If deactive then system not given the message  budget exceddand not update the budget report.
    2. No commitment item entered in item 00002 SCL 270303
in that case check the derivation rule Fmderiver transaction code , here you see you assign GL to commitment item
    B) you go to the transaction code FMBSBO - Budget adddress - here you assign commitment item to fund center
then also go to FMBSPO - Payment address - here alos you assign the commitment item to fund center
Kindly revert in case of any query

  • No commitment items selected

I use Fund Management and Material Ledger in ECC 6.0.
When I excute the post closing in the CKMLCP Edit Costing Run, and the system show a error message
    No commitment items selected
    Message no. FI606
I search the solution on SDN Community, and find someone said that "create a comittment item with Financial transaction: 40. Strange".
But I don't know where to create a committment item with Financial transaction: 40"
Could anyone tell me the IMG Path? thank you very much

    Hi,
The issue has to do with the integration of Material Ledger with Funds Management.
Please refer to the note: 148967 Integration of material ledger to FM
It is recommended that any FM area would have at least one technical commitment item of each type of the following financial transactions: 40, 50, 60, 90 no matter how your FM area is customized.
It is known that each line item of each document posted in an integrated component should have an FM address (fund + funds center + commitment item) if FM is activated.
For some cases it is done automatically by searching for a valid FM address that is not relevant for FM update at the same time, thus having a commitment item ws fin.transaction 50, for example.
For ML documents, system is looking for a commitment item with FT 40 or 50, even if FM is not to be updated afterwards. Hence, please create at least one commitment item with Financial Transaction 50 and retest the situation.
    Please check also the following:
-Make sure that you are working under any of the 4 Warehouse concepts supported by SAP. See note 700485.
-Check/apply (if missing) note 148967 Integration of material ledger to FM. As of this note, you should derive a commitment item with  financial transaction not equal to 30 nor 40 in ML postings
-Note 980168 FI 313 for commitment item with financial transaction <> 30  should be also implemented
Upon verification of the above, please activate trace for FMDERIVE (see note 666322) again and review your derivation.
    Important:
Before creating any commitment item in FMCIA or consider any change in your customizing settings, please discuss with your Funds Mangement (PSM-FM) consultant.
    Best Regards,
    Vanessa.

  • GR/IR Account with Wrong Commitment Item

    Dear Experts,
When we doing GR(MIGO), system is not deriving the commitment item from FMDerive, istead taking the commitment item from offsetting GL entry. Is it common behavior? If not, how to force GR act derived into right commitment item which its category (40/3). Please kindly advise. Thank you.

    Hi kkbdsp,
My issue is this GR account is never derived from FMDerive. And i searched in forum, this is common behavior in SAP like Ming Hong post below :
" What you described is a SAP standard behavior. For GR/IR account, system ignores whatever settings you made in FMDERIVE.  FM account assignment is inherited from the PO. For example your consumption PO has expense account 456 with CI 456, Fund and FC; your GR/IR account is 123 with CI 123.
    GR posting:
    DR 456 with CI 456/Fund/FC
    CR 123 with CI 456/Fund/FC
    IR posting:
    DR 123 with CI 456/Fund/FC
    CR Vendor
    Regards,
    Ming
    And my concern are :
    - I am just wondering why do we need to make CI setting for GR/IR with category 40/30?
    - if GR act is always derived from its offseting acct (expense acct 30/3), why then SAP give error message "GR reduction impossible. Wrong CI with FT 30 instead of 40 in GR/IR acct"?
    Please kindly advise. Thanks.
