Folders in Navigation Pane Moved Under Contacts

I was just recently upgraded from XP to Win7. Yesterday I noticed an e-mail folder in the Navigation Pane (Outlook 2010) was out of place so I tried moving it. Outlook would not let me drag and drop it anywhere on the Nav Pane or when I right clicked on
it and Move Folder. I clicked OK to get out of that window and immediately following that I discovered that the e-mail folder had been moved under one of my Contacts folders. Since then I have tried to move it and other folders but they keep being dropped
under this particular Contacts folder. I can no longer see these folders in my Nav Pane and I cannot find a way to move them out of the Contacts. I was able to customize my Outlook Today to be able to view e-mails in these "lost" folders,
however, I cannot get them restored on the Nav Pane where they were originally. Please help! :(

Which type of email account are you using? Please check if this behavior exists in web access.
We can also try to open Outlook with /resetfolders and
/resetnavpane commands to check the result. The /resetfolders
command will restore missing folders at the default delivery location and the
/resetnavpane command will clear and regenerate the Navigation Pane for the current profile.
To use the command, exit Outlook, press Windows key + R to open the Run box, type
outlook.exe /resetfolders and press Enter. Use /resetnavpane switch in the same way.

Want to remove scroll bar from navigation pane in Web Template

HI All,
I have a report created in WAD.When I am using navigation pane, I get a scroll bar there.
I want to remove that scroll bar from navigation pane.Tried increasing the height in the property of same but nothing is helping.
The expanded option should be ON and do not want to group characteristics shown in nav. pane.
Please suggest, if there is any other way to do that.

Why do you want to expand it? Generally when you click on Nav pane, it should show the assigned chars under it. No scroll bar comes up with below settings:-

In Acrobat 9 was a navigation pane that allowed users to scroll through highlighted sections and read the notes directly. Where is that usefule function in Acrobat XI?

Navigation Pane Spacing with Access 2010 in Windows 8.1

I am currently using Access 2010 in Windows 8.1 and have huge vertical spacing in the Access 2010 navigation pane. In looking through other issues of this type, others have been able to fix it by going into the quick access toolbar and switching from
touch mode to mouse mode.
However, in Access 2010 there is no quick toolbar option for touch mode. As it is, I can only see about 10 navigation pane items when I used to be able to see 20 or 30. I run fairly complex databases and this is a major slowdown.
Any ideas that do NOT involve updating to Access 2013? All my other Office 2010 apps seem to be working fine - just Access has the issue.

Outlook 2013 Navigation Pane Spacing in Windows 8.1

I have two laptops sitting side by side. One of them has a windows 8.1 installation with Office 2013 and the other has a windows 8 with installation of Office 2013.
There is one huge difference in Outlook that is a large source of frustration - the navigation pane.
In Windows 8 / Outlook 2013, I can see about 30 folders, each with a very small space in between each other.
In Windows 8.1, I can see about 15. Half the amount, and all in part due to an enormous space between each folder.
I understand the need to go "touch friendly" but, in doing so, don't limit all the other users - instead, give them a customization option to opt back and forth between touch friendly and workstation friendly.

The number of the folders may be also related to the screen resolution of your computer.
In addition, please check if the Outlook 2013 on WIndows 8.1 is working with Touch Mode enabled. To check this, expand the Quick Access Toolbar menu and select Touch Mode. Now,
the Touch Mode button is added to the QAT which you can use to toggle Touch Mode off and on. See:
If you are using Touch Mode, try to switch to Mouse Mode to check the result.

Missing Navigation pane / Error message

Hey everyone,
A colleague of mine was trying to build WebHelp using RH X5
and when he built the output, the navigation page on the left
appeared completely blank with a little error symbol in the lower
left of the screen.
The error stated:
Line: 222
Char: 3
Error: Automation server can't create object
File: path\!SSL\WebHelp\whskin_pdhtml.htm
When I looked at whskin_pdhtml.htm on a build on my own
system in Dreamweaver, I saw that the page title is "Navigation
Pane"
Any idea why RoboHelp couldn't create this file? He had this
problem last week. We though IE was the problem, but a reinstall
didn't help. Both he and I are publishing the output (File System
method) to a specific folder on the root of our C:\ drives, since
we can't get access to Development servers (security policy)
By the way, I can view his output perfectly on my system.
I found an old post on this topic from 2006 that had this in
the response:
"IE, general Internet, popup blockers, guest toolbars (Yahoo!
for example), MS Office, network server permissions (database admin
or sys admin). Do you have any utilities running in the background
that the others don't have?"
I haven't gone through and compared everything between his
machine and mine, but what specifically should I look for in terms
of major differences? I have local box admin rights for my machine,
but I don't think he does for his. That shouldn't be a problem,
should it?

Yes, it should.
The RoboHelp product must be installed under the user's name,
with full admin rights; in addition, those rights must be
maintained at least for the first time the user opens, edits, and
generates a project. Those rights can then, and only then, be
disabled.

Can't find delete button for quick link address in my inbox navigation pane !

Hi,
There is no delete button for quick link which I mistakenly added in my inbox navigation pane. In fact, the link I added for quick link was a mistake and it was a different page address, and the missing delete button is for this specific link only; other than it is alright. How can I remove or delete it from my inbox quick link ?

There does seem to be a close/delete button present that is hidden under the 'm' from 'google.com' that is probably not clickable.
I don't know if there should be such a long link visible in that list item or that something else is wrong.
You can try to right-click that area and use Inspect Element to open the Inspector.

Could someone tell me how the Navigation pane which is on the left side of the workspace can be relocated to the bottom of the workspace.

The Navigation pane cannot be moved. It will always be on the left.

Navigation Pane and Topic Pane

I am new to RoboHelp. I just did a tutorial and feel like I
understood it. I completed my own project, and it worked fine.
However, the project I need to work on was begun by someone else at
the company I work for, and when I access her project via RoboHelp
XML, it is missing the Project Manager, TOC, Index, etc. in the
Navigation Pane on the left side, and the Topics Pane on the right
side only has Wysiwyg and True Code (missing Links and Topics).
When I go up to Tools and choose Pane, I get three options (Tools,
TrueCode, and Wysiwyg), and the options I desire aren't there.
Since the tutorial taught me how to use RoboHelp using those
missing items, I am lost without them. I am hopeful that someone
can talk me through getting those back to my screen. Thanks.

Left-hand view was checkmarked. When I uncheckmarked it, the
Wysiwyg Editor expanded across the screen, filling it left to
right, and I entirely lost the pane on the left-hand side which had
the Tools Tab. So, I put the checkmark back in.
I do not have the same hard drive as she had. I had to ask
the IT guys here to install RoboHelp. I would not have the same
user logon as she had. Would that make a difference? The tutorial I
did did not address version control (it's more advanced than I am).
If she had used this feature, would that explain those missing
items? What about some kind of password protection?
I tried moving the project to My Computer, but that didn't
help. The woman I am replacing had stored this project in Visual
Source Safe as well as on her Shared drive here at the company. I
can access them "regularly" (meaning not via RoboHelp) in either
place. I can access the ones on her Shared drive via RoboHelp, but
that's when I get the version without Project Manager, TOC, Index,
Topics List, Links, etc. When I try accessing the version that's in
Visual Source Safe, I can't get in.

Navigation pane not showing in merged output on server (IE9)

We've moved our WebHelp outputs from an externally maintained server to an in-house server, but the left-hand navigation pane isn't displaying in our merged Help system. In our user guide (which isn't merged) the pane displays fine, but in our release notes (which is a merged system) it doesn't want to show itself. The main navigation pane and topic pane are fine, it's just the left-hand navigation pane that's blank.
I'm running IE9, but the weird thing is that it displays correctly in Firefox. It also works when run locally.
Both Help systems worked absolutely fine on the previous server, so I'm wondering if there's a conflict with something else that's running on the new server (e.g. our website's CMS, etc.) or whether it's a permissions thing?
My issue seems similar to other posts on here, but I'm using IE9 not IE11.
I'd be grateful for any ideas.

Navigation Pane on WorkBook

Hi All,
I havent had that much exp on workbooks,
I have a task to change the navigation pane in workbook by removing existing characteristic and adding new.
I was also asked to create a new navigation pane in the Workbook.
As given in thehelp sap i opened the workbook in BEx analyser 3.x and clicked the design mode. But after that i am unable to add anything in Navigation Pane or ableto add a new one.
Kindly help and guide me in doing this.

I believe our intrepid developer actually also needs to make changes to his QUERY, not the Navigation Pane, unless all of the key figures and characteristics are already in there. Please check the query and see if it has all the elements you need. If not, you will need to change the query as well using Query Designer.
I'm also a bit uncertain why you would use Bex 3.x and discuss 'Navigation Pane'. In Bex 3.x these individual cells are referred to as "Filter Cells" and the like.
If you are using Bex 3.x, you can only hide or unhide these cells. You can move them around a bit. Text Elements, on the other hand, can be deleted and shuffled around inside Excel by deleting the cell or moving it.
For Bex 7, you can add and remove elements inside the navigation pane by turning them on and off. You can also add more than one navigation pane to your workbook, so as to support formatting and organizing. The same rule applies to text elements.

Navigation Pane Color

I am trying to change the colour of the navigation pane included in a BW template. The standard item is shown with a combination of blue colours (#adcbde for headings and #c6d7e7 for items).
I want to change those colours to fit in with our theme, but can't find where this would be set.
There is a section in the theme editor for GROUPS, and this seems to have changed some of the background of the navigation pane, but not the headings / items.
Please not that I am NOT referring to the detailed navigation section of the portal ... this I have changed nicely. I am referring to the navigation pane included in a BW web template, the one where columns, rows & free characteristics are displayed.
If there is nothing in the themes that can be used, then I guess I will resort to overwriting the styles with a custom CSS, but this is not my preferred approach.

I didnot understand the whole subject. To explain, Navigation pane in WAD is the Web item used for displaying the drilldown characteristics, available default characteristics and key figures under the 'Drilldowns or Navigation' in the web report.
You can make this visible or hidden. You cannot 'add' characteristics here, all the characteristics in the query will be visible by default. You must do the 'data binding' to this web item with the query (s) you want to drilldown.
If you are not able to see the navigation pane in the report would mean that the property is set as ' hidden ' in the web template in WAD.

Navigation Pane Doesn't Work

For some reason, the Navigation Pane in my MS Word doesn't work. I usually use the toggle from my quick access toolbar to toggle it on and off. It worked fine last night. This morning, I open the document and I hit Ctrl F to see the Navigation
Pane, but MS Word didn't respond. I tried to toggle in the quick access toolbar and there was no response. I went to the View and I tried the Navigation Pane toggle, but there was nothing. Anyone know how I can bring the Navigation Pane back?

Please also try deleting the Word Data registry subkey to see if the problem was caused by a damaged Word Data registry key.
Note When you delete the Word Data registry subkey, Word resets several options to their default settings. For example, Word resets the "most recently used file" list on the
File menu. Also, Word resets many settings that you customize in the
Options dialog box.
1. Exit all Office programs.
2. In Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap
Search. (If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.) Type
regedit in the search box, tap or click Apps, and then tap or click
Run.
Or, in Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP, click Start, click
Run, type regedit, and then click OK.

you would need to setup a VPN and tunnel into your office.
FYI..the default ports are 3283 and 5900.
