  • Kerning doesn't look same in Photoshop

    Hi,
    Hope this finds you well.
    I am trying to export a file from InDesign to Photoshop. It's mostly type of all the same font. However, when I export it to Photoshop, the kerning on some -not all- of the type doesn't look the same/gets worse.
    Is there a way to resolve this?
    Thanks very much for your time.

  • JMenuItem and JTextField doesn't look right after upgrading to Java 8

    I just upgraded to JDK 8u25
    I have a legacy Swing application, which makes use of JMenuItem and JTextField
    I realize, after upgrading, there is a bolder grey vertical border at the left side of JMenuItem and JTextField
    JMenuItem
    JTextField
    This only happen, if I were using look n feel com.sun.java.swing.plaf.windows.WindowsLookAndFeel
    Before that, I never have such problem. Anyone know is there any workaround for such problem?

    The site looks OK -- actually quite impressive for what appears to be a from-scratch design.
    In Opera 10 under Snow Leopard 10.6.1, the design doesn't start to explode until the horizontally scrolling marquee comes across. I would strongly recommend just removing that marquee; it is an extremely outdated element of web design. If you do that, the design shouldn't blow up on you in other browsers.

  • I updated firefox to 4.0 and then to 5.0 and it doesn't look like it is supposed to, I still have the navigation tool bar at the top of my page and the drop down boxes too (file, edit, view etc). Why is this an how can I get the proper new versions?

    When I updated firefox to 4.0 the only things that really changed were a couple of buttons and the position of the tabs, the blue navigation bar and the drop down menus for file etc didn't change at all.
    My computer also freezes when visiting certain websites with firefox, not Every time I visit but frequently. The websites are usually commonly visited websites (Gmail, stuff.co.nz) and don't do it when I am using internet explorer or another computer. This started when I downloaded the upgrade.
    I use a net-book with Windows XP.

    To get the new style UI you need to hide the menu bar. To do that in the View menu select Toolbars, then click on the "Menu Bar" entry.
    If you need access to the menus you can press either Alt or F10 to temporarily display them.

  • Published Site Doesn't Look Same as Local

    Hello Everyone,
    New and beginning user of cs4. I created a template and a few pages from it and am having a couple of problems. Using Vista Home premium which is causing incompatibility issues daily firefox 3.5 browser and fireftp because I can't understand instructions for dw ftp.
    1) Using a template from the ones offered (two column fixed, left sidebar, with header and footer), I change the background color in each div using "find code." The site displays correctly locally but once published the gray background is still on header and sidebar (Spry menu color is fine).
    2) While creating pages from the template, some of the pages do not display the background image of the template, instead they display the background color of the div containers. This is usually corrected after I make a change on the template and save the changes to the pages from there.
    3) most annoying of all but not as important as above, I would like to get rid of the old/deleted  files still displayed at the dw start up. how is this possible?
    www.bhikkhuni.net
    Thank you for your help.

    I've answered my own questions. When I reopened the template, the gray color was showing so I changed it again and resaved it. Don't know why that happened. It had been saved before. Also the other question about the annoying files- I've created five or six new files today and saw they replaced the old ones. Thanks anyway.

  • "tabs on top" doesn't look same wether window is maximized or not

    I have the option "tabs on top" selected. But when firefox window is maximized tabs appear sweetly just right of firefox orange button (this is just fine). But when window is normal sized tabs fall under this latter button, leaving an ugly gap.
    Where is the option to make the tabs fill always this gap when "tabs on top" is selected?
    I'm using firefox on windows 7 os, with unmodified theme. I would like to post images as well but I can't see the link.

    That is intended, you can change this behavior by adding a userstyle with the Stylish add-on.
    # First install the Stylish add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish
    # Go to http://userstyles.org/styles/42417 and click on "Install with Stylish"
    # Restart Firefox and you should then have a tabs in the titlebar on restored windows.

  • Changing Fonts in JTextArea

    Is there a way to have a JTextArea select all the text currently typed inside it and have it change the font size? I've tried <JTextArea>.setFont(new Font("Serif", Font.PLAIN, 16) and that doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? I'm certain it's either a very simple fix or impossible...little middle ground.

    Remove the MouseListeners from the divider so it can't respond to MouseEvents:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import javax.swing.plaf.basic.*;
    public class SplitPaneFixedDivider extends JFrame
         public SplitPaneFixedDivider()
              JSplitPane splitPane = new JSplitPane(JSplitPane.VERTICAL_SPLIT);
              JPanel top = new JPanel();
              top.setPreferredSize( new Dimension(500, 400) );
              top.setBackground( Color.RED );
              splitPane.setTopComponent( top );
              JPanel bottom = new JPanel();
              bottom.setPreferredSize( new Dimension(500, 100) );
              bottom.setBackground( Color.BLUE );
              splitPane.setBottomComponent( bottom );
              getContentPane().add(splitPane);
              BasicSplitPaneUI splitPaneUI = (BasicSplitPaneUI)splitPane.getUI();
              Component divider = splitPaneUI.getDivider();
              divider.setCursor(null);
              MouseListener[] actions = (MouseListener[])divider.getListeners(MouseListener.class);
              for (int i = 0; i < actions.length; i++)
                   divider.removeMouseListener( actions[i] );
              MouseListener[] action3 = (MouseListener[])splitPane.getListeners(MouseListener.class);
              for (int i = 0; i < action3.length; i++)
                   splitPane.removeMouseListener( action3[i] );
              setResizable( false );
         public static void main(String[] args)
              SplitPaneFixedDivider frame = new SplitPaneFixedDivider();
              frame.setDefaultCloseOperation( EXIT_ON_CLOSE );
              frame.pack();
              frame.setLocationRelativeTo( null );
              frame.setVisible(true);
    }Of course this defeats the purpose of using a JSplitPane, so an easier solution, as suggested above, is to just use a LayoutManager to mimic the look of a JSplitPane. I prefer the BorderLayout:
              JPanel top = new JPanel();
              top.setPreferredSize( new Dimension(500, 400) );
              top.setBackground( Color.RED );
              getContentPane().add(top, BorderLayout.NORTH );
              JPanel middle = new JPanel();
              middle.setPreferredSize( new Dimension(500, 10) );
              getContentPane().add( middle );
              JPanel bottom = new JPanel();
              bottom.setPreferredSize( new Dimension(500, 100) );
              bottom.setBackground( Color.BLUE );
              getContentPane().add(bottom, BorderLayout.SOUTH );
              setResizable( false );

  • Quicktime Export doesn't look as crisp as original Final Cut sequence

    I just exported my Final Cut movie with quicktime to put it into IDVD
    and it doesn't look ANYWHERE as clear as the original. Any suggestions?

    DV tracks have the high quality setting turned off by default. You can turn it on using QuickTime Player if you have QuickTime Pro, but if you are sending it through iDVD you could just not worry about it, iDVD will make the MPEG-2 based on the high quality setting being on, it ignores that setting.

  • Doesn't look like charging, screen stays black

    My ipod out of charge and now doesn't look like it is charging.  The screen is blank when I connect to computer or wall adapter.

    To change the locations of your code and design views under Split, go into the View menu and put a check by Split Vertically.
    If you are using a version of the program that doesn't match the video (say using DWCS6 with a CC2014 video) it's not going to work well. There have been quite a few changes between recent versions and if your video and DW versions don't match, it's easy to get lost.
    Check your version by going to Help > About Dreamweaver.
    If you post back with your version, someone here should have links to videos that match it.

  • KDE fonts under Gnome doesn't look good

    Ok, most people complains about GTK fonts under KDE. I have the inverse problem, my kde apps doesn't look good into gnome.
    If I run kde, the fonts are displayed properly with small size, but if I run gnome and the run a kde app, the fonts are very big.
    When i run a gtk app under kde, the fonts are showed properly but it doesn't use my gnome theme.
    Anyone have a solution on making kde apps looking good under gnome?

    Even though it's the inverse problem, it's likely still the same solution.  Gnome has a Gconf setting for DPI.  Otherwise you change it as an option to X.  Where you do so depends on how you start up X though (startx, xdm, kdm, gdm, etc).  I'll post back once I'm in Gnome and tell you where you can change the DPI.

    Hello,
    My 20inch iMac's internal drive died and I'm trying to re-install Lion on an external drive. If I could get the Lion DMG file I think I'd be all set but am not sure how to do this. It doesn't look like the Lion Recovery feature is supported in my older iMac. And I have Leopard installed on the external drive but there's no AppStore to download the Lion DMG file.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    -Lee

    Without a bootable backup/clone or a Time Machine backup of your previous Snow Leopard installation or a saved copy of Lion's install app, you'll have to upgrade your Leopard volume to Snow Leopard (10.6.6+) so you can waste another hour or more DLing the Lion thing again.

    The top layer is indeed the one that is visible, unless there is/are area(s) of translucency on that layer, so that you can visualize a portion of the subjacent layer.

    Are your settings targeted to have the printer manage colors, or, to have PSE manage colors?
