Footer not staying at bottom of page

http://www.mrjindustrial.com.au/index_newicons.html
The footer is not sticking to the bottom of the page when viewed on a reasonable-sized monitor. There's a large space beneath it. I have not been able to work out exactly why this is happening, and hope someone here might know.
I have been using PVII CSS Layout Magic and have posted this question in their forums, no reply as yet, so I am hoping someone in this forum can help.
Thanks, Pixelwarrior

The height of a page is determined by how much content it contains.  Short pages  don't stretch to fill the available viewport without code hacks which can lead to other problems.
If you want a fixed footer (always visible), try this:

  • Footer not staying at bottom in Firefox & Netscape

I have a webpage that looks fine in IE but in Netscape and
Firefox, the footer div is not staying down at the bottom of the
page like it is supposed to.
There is a "content" div which contains the 2 divs "nav" and
"actual content". "Nav" is floated to the left and is 155 pixels
wide. "Actual content" has a left margin of 155 pixels and is of
course to the right of "nav". In both Firefox and Netscape, what
seems to be happening is that the footer div is shifting to the
right just enough to clear the "nav" div and then moving up just
underneath the "actual content" div. This descripition is occurring
on my template page which has no actual content so that is why the
"nav" is taller than the empty "actual content". On a page that
does have words, etc in the "actual content" div, the footer does
stay beneath the "actual content" but if the "actual content" is
still shorter than the "nav", the footer is still shifting right
clear of the nav and jumping up just beneath the "actual content".
Currently "content" is positioned relatively. The 2 divs
inside of content, which are "nav" and "actual content" are not
specified as far as positioning (which I think defaults to
static???). The footer div which is not contained in the "content"
div also does not have positioning specified.
    Can anyone help?

  • Footer not staying at the bottom of the content

I am making a new website -- tomperkowitz.com -- and the footer sticks to the bottom of the browser page leaving a big white space when the browser window is taller than the content. I would like the footer to remain at the bottom of the content (like the first image below) and not stick to the bottom of the window (as shown in the second image below.
I have another site - horizonshades.com - made with Muse where the footer stays as I want to, but I don't know what I am doing different/wrong with this new site.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Have you unchecked Sticky Footer in the Page Properties?

  • Footer no longer stays at bottom of page after update!

After updating to Muse 3.0, my footer no longer stays at the bottom ofthe page.  The 'footer checkbox' is checked.  After I discovered this, I unchecked the footer box and saved files,  then went back re-checked the footer checkbox, saved the files and uploaded to the site. I saved the site as a different site name, uploaded ALL the files. Checked to makesure the manifest files, css were uploaded.  Still have the same issue.

To revert to Muse 2.3, remove any installed copies of Muse (using Remove Programs on Windows or the Uninstall Adobe Muse application from Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers on the Mac). Then install Muse 2.3 from:

  • CSS Footer That Stays at Bottom of Viewport

I have read through others' postings about this issue, and
I'm having trouble implementing CSS to force my footer to stay at
the bottom of the viewport, no matter the size of the viewport.
I have followed the tutorial at
    http://solardreamstudios.com/learn/css/footerstick/
and it keeps the footer below the bottom edge of the viewport so
you have to scroll down to find it. I tried the tutorial on A List
    Apart as well.
In my test page, the content above the footer is empty save
for a single line of sample text so that is not forcing the footer
below the bottom edge of the screen.
I'd like to know how to keep the footer visible and fixed to
the bottom of the viewport at all times so that its position
adjusts up or down with on the content divs above it and the height
    of those divs.
Could any one recommend a good tutorial or let me know how to
tweak my code? The design is still at a really rough stage, by the
    way.
    My test page is:
    http://www.kjmassoc.com/2007/floated%20columns.html
and my CSS for the footer is in

  • Having a footer always display at bottom of page

I know I've seen this around somewhere but can't find it. Basically, given the wide variation in screen dimentions these days, is there a way to always have a footer display at the bottom of the page.

Item 21 at http://www.grainge.org/pages/snippets/snippets.htm#content shows how to do that for a top non scrolling region. Perhaps you can modify that.

  • Slide show picture size does not stay towards bottom of footer

In the design mode, on a home page, the slideshow box extends all the way to the top of the footer (how I want it too). However when I preview the same page, the slideshow box bottom slides up a bit and leave about a 50 pixel white space between the btoom of the picture slide show and the footer.
Any thoughts on how to prevent this?

  • Footer not staying put

I am not an expert at CSS, and I am sure that I have made a mess of things. My footer is as big as a browser window, but not as big as the webpage. I hope that makes sense? If I have a small little window open and scroll to the right to see the entire webpage the footer does not cover the entire bottom. If I just make the window bigger without scrolling there is no problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

fixed it! I had to set the minimum width of the footer at least as wide as the body.

  • Shape does not stay on the same page

How do I get shapes to stay where I put them? Specifically:
    1) How can I draw *circles around words* and make them STAY around those words, even when I add text and page-breaks above those words?
    2) How can I draw *arrows ON my pictures* and make them STAY on my pictures, even when I add text and page-breaks above those pictures?
My dilemma is that "+moves with text+" ensures that they stay in the same place, even when I add text or page-breaks above the circles and arrows, BUT the circles and arrows are treated as text and I can't place them AROUND/ON my words and pictures.
The only other setting, "+fixed on page - no object wrap+" lets me place circles and arrows to be AROUND/ON my words and pictures (instead of beside), but they don't move WITH my text and pictures.
    ARGH!!!!
    Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!

Many (including Pages™) will let you add circles and pointers in a meaningful way, but only after your words have been substantially processed.
What do you mean by "substantially processed"?
And the feature I'm describing (having a shape linked to text so that it moves with the text) is a feature I have used in MS Word. In their terms, you "anchor" your shape to a spot in the text. When that spot in the text is moved, the anchored shape moves with it.
Thanks for the input though, Brie.

  • Reader 11 Page display will not stay on "view single page"

    Hello,
Running Windows 7 x64 Reader 11.0.0. When opening any pdf document it opens with page display on enable scrolling. I want it to always open on view single page.
Under Edit -> Preferences -> Page Display the Page Layout is set to single page and Zoom to fit page.
Any idea what i'm doing wrong? Pretty sure that is how i have had it set since Reader version 2 or so.
    Thank you,

Until Mozilla straightens this out, you can go to:

    That should give you relief

I have removed the bottom and taken out the battery and the ram . will this affect my applecare warranty. I had to try myself as I'm overseas for two months and nowhere near any sort of help .

there was a recent software update that seemed to screw HDV up.  Do some searching here over the last month or 2 and you'll find a bunch of posts and some possible solutions.
Worst case scenario, do as Shane suggests.  But might I suggest you take a look at the user tips section of the forum.  there are some great tips on how to prevent these sorts of problems by cloning your startup drive, etc.

  • Footer at bottom of screen or at bottom of page

    Hi guys
I'm creating a new website which I would like to give a footer that stays on the bottom of the screen if the content only needs the screen height, but that follows the content if the content makes it a scrollable page?
So if there are for example only 3 lines of text between my header and my footer on the webpage, I would like to have the footer at the bottom of the screen instead of just below the text. If there is a lot of content which makes the page scrollable, I would like to have the footer at the bottom of the page, below the content.
Do you understand what I mean?
    Thanks!
    Bob

I'll show you how but I don't recommend doing this becuase it relies on hacks that don't work well in all devices.  Nobody really cares if your footer is aligned at the bottom of the screen on short pages.

  • Goup footer at bottom of page

We are working on a report in which we need to print a group footer at the end of each group, in addition the group footer should be at the bottom the page.
This is an invoice report for the clients, and we need to print the remittance address at the bottom of the page for each client. The problem is to anchor the "Remittance Address" portion at the bottom of the page. If there is not enough space on the first page the footer should move to bottom of next page.
Remember that the data portion may vary in length, also the header portion can vary in height. In addition there can be more than one client's per report.

In Report Builder navigate Help -> Quick Tour. This should explain how to add groups etc.
