Footers, tables, secondary navbars or frames, different sites etc.

Hey all,
I moved completely away from Windows years ago to Macs and Linux except for web page building. I continued to use Frontpage because I understood it and it worked for my level of need and capability. Today I began attacking an overdue site for a non-profit foundation I run and decided to go with iWeb. Initial response is that this is awesome. But I have reached the point where I need help.
Footers
It appears that every page has its own, unique footer. Yuck, what a lot of work and multiplication of effort since I want each page's footer to be identical. Moreover, if I change something, like a copyright notice, I don't want to have to copy /paste to every single page. Plus I cannot insert a text box into a footer. I saw a post about using a shape and will give that a try but back to the root question, is there a master footer element somewhere?
Tables
On a couple of pages, I need the capability to have tables. While Keynote and Pages support tables, iWeb doesn't seem to do this. Have I missed this somewhere?
Secondary Navbars
As many other posters have already noted, it's bad form to clutter up your navbar with too much stuff. I've been creating pages and using hyperlinks from "leader" pages to get there, but what I would really like to do is to create self-populating navbars. The site organizer doesn't appear to do much other than page order. Only blog pages support child pages. Am I missing a key navigational capability here?
The site organizer is confusing me completely. Logically one would be able to manage multiple distinct and unique sites from a site organizer, but this site organizer seems to treat all the sites as if they are from one master site. I read a post from an innovative fellow who used this to handle the nav problem above by using a main site and a bunch of subsites, but what do you do if you don't want all the pages published to the same place?

Thanks for the helpful guidance. Great tip about the CMD-drag, I had no idea and it will make setting the footers easier. Once done on one page I may be able to bulk select copy paste for the other pages.
Thank you for saving me time regarding tables. I see you can publish to a file which renders html and iWeb is supposed to be W3C compliant so maybe I could create the table as html and paste it in, but I think that would only work in a non .Mac published environment (true in this case) but every alteration and publish to folder would overwrite it.
I think I can create the secondary navbars with a text box, but it won't be automatic.
Still confused by the sites thing, although I saw a link somewhere on how to have multiple unique sites using some Finder manipulations. Will have to look that up later. I own the Adobe product (came as part of a suite) but haven't the time or energy to learn it right now.

    I currently operate a two node DAG in our primary site supporting one mailbox database. I plan to introduce a third DAG node in our datacenter which is in a different Active Directory site. Both current DAG members replicate over a dedicated replication
    network to keep the traffic separate from the MAPI traffic. The third DAG member will also have a dedicated replication network adapter (of course, on a different subnet). Ideally I would like to seed the database at a time of my choosing, rather than at the
    moment I add the mailbox database copy (I know how to achieve this), but I would like to specify which network the data replicates over.
    According to the following (see below link) under the 'Seeding and Networks' section as my two DAG members will be on different subnets in different sites Exchange will make the decision to use the MAPI network adapters of the target and source server.

    If you want to specify the networks for seeding, you can use the
    Network parameter when running the
    Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy cmdlet and specify the DAG networks that you want to use.
     If you don't use the Network parameter, then the system uses the following default behavior for selecting a network to use for the seeding operation:
    If the source server and target server are on the same subnet and a replication network has been configured that includes the subnet, the replication network will be used.
    If the source server and target server are on different subnets, even if a replication network that contains those subnets has been configured, the client (MAPI) network will be used for seeding.
    If the source server and target server are in different datacenters, the client (MAPI) network will be used for seeding.
    So please use the Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy cmdlet with
    NetWork parameter to specify which DAG network should be used for seeding.

    How can you see what DC has the current "master" or most up to date version? If I have 3 DCs and 3 different sites, and I add a new user at one of the sites, then that site has the newest master.  How can I check what version of the Global Catalog / ADUC version / revision they each have?
    Is there a CMD / Powershell script to do so?

  • ASA Failover when Firewalls are at different sites - help

    I am implementing a solution for a customer whereby they have two Cisco ASA 5520X firewalls. They wish for the firewalls to be in an Active-Standby state.
    This not only means that if one firewall dies, the other will take over. It also means that any configuration changes made on the primary are copied to the backup.
    The only catch is, both firewalls are at different sites. There is no layer 2 WAN link running between the sites. They are seperated by both the internet cloud on one side and their internal company MPLS cloud on the other.
    The diagram, that I have taken from my GNS3 simulation and modified slightly, shows the setup. All of the IP addresses (and AS numbers) are made up. Any reflection on real world IPs is unintentional and just a coincidence.
    The diagram is probably too overcrowded with IP information than is needed in this question - but the basic idea is the following:
    1. Under normal conditions traffic will flow to the internet from the remote MPLS site and leave via the firewall (PAT) at site1 - however note the public range of 23.23.23.0/24 is configured at both Site-1 and Site-2 - so at the moment the internet cloud is prefering Site-1 to reach that range.
    2. If the internet link fron INT-PRI at Site-1 fails, remote MPLS traffic destined for the internet will be forwarded out to the internet at Site-2.
    3. If the two MPLS links to Site-1 fail, INT-PRI will stop advertising the public range to the internet PE routers and traffic from the remote MPLS router destined for the internet will go out via Site-2.
    I have the tracking and dynamic routing failover setup between the sites all configured and worked out (I can provide the details of how INT-PRI tracks a sponge address in the MPLS cloud to determine whether or not it advertises the public range to the internet etc etc if you want, but on this question I want to focus on the firewalls).
    Currently the customer has resigned to having to do manual copying between the firewalls every time a change is made (i.e. there is no dynamic failover configured and the Site-2 firewall is just a clone that is kept up to date by their change management team).
    Is there a smart way to set up an Active-Standby configuration between these distant sites? Or at the very least dynamically copy the configuraiton to the backup everytime a change is made? My first though would be some kind of EEM or TCL script but I'm not that experienced with either. Alternatively, if there is smart was to get the two firewalls talking over Layer 2 it might be a better way forward.

    You could used Ethernet over MPLS (EoMPLS) or Virtual Private Lan Services (VPLS), though if I remember correctly this is limited to certain platforms and IOS versions.

    Yes you can. You can use the CNAME method of forwarding for the first site (the top site in iWeb) and use the MMe URL for your account for the other site: http://web.me.com/YourAccount_Name/SiteName/

    Hello everyone.  I am getting this error when attempting to move minor workflow changes from mirror SharePoint development / production environments and hoping someone can help me.
    "This workflow cannot be imported because it was created in SharePoint Designer for a different site, or the original workflow has been moved or deleted.  To move a workflow between sites, use Save as Template (.wsp file) instead of a Visio workflow
    drawing."
    So basically I have taken an image of our single SharePoint server, Domain Controller, and a client and restored them to an OFFLINE development environment for the testing of workflow changes prior to production.  I've put quite a bit of time into one
    particularly and would like to export/import rather than re-created from scratch.
    I've successfully created the form template and imported.  This created the necessary list items nicely and the form appears to work as expected.  However, when attempting to import the .VWI file exported from dev SharePoint, I am getting the above
    error.  If I change the .VWI to .zip and remove the "workflow.xoml.wfconfig.xml" file, then re-zip and change the file extension back to .VWI I get a dialog that allows me to import, but I have to choose a new name and much of the related content
    is lost.  I need to be able to overwrite/merge the existing workflow with the import.  Any suggestions?
    One strange thing I ran into was during a test of an export/import from and to the exact same environment. If I simply export to .VWI, then import from .VWI with no changes, SAME everything I still get this error. Very weird. Hoping someone can shed some
    light on the subject. Thank you.

  • Accessing the EAC in different sites

    I currently have an Exchange 2010 environment with a 3 node DAG.  All servers are 2008R2 and we have 2 production servers and one DR server (at a remote site).
    I am working on upgrading our Exchange to 2013 and have installed 2013 SP1 on -3- 2012R2 production servers and -2- 2012R2 DR servers.  The install went smoothly and I have the new 2013 DAG configured with these 5 member servers.  I have configured
    all of the virtual directories and everything else to get me ready for coexistence.
    My question is this.  No mail has been directed to the 2013 servers yet and I have just been completing the configuration.  I am able to log into the EAC on the -3- production servers by browsing to https://server/ecp/?ExchClientVer=15 and logging
    in with our service account that has a mailbox mounted on one of my 2010 production Exchange servers.  When I go to the 2013 DR server and go to that address and try to log in with the account, I get a ":-( Something went wrong" error.  I
    can then mount the service account database on the 2010 DR server and it will let me log into the DR server EAC but then not the production server EAC.  Is this expected behavior?  Do I need to have a service account mailbox mounted on a server at
    each site for administration?  I'm just trying to see if I misconfigured something or if this is expected behavior.  Thanks.

  • How to track multiple documents across different sites

    What I am trying to do seems relatively simple yet I can't seem to find a way to do it.
    I have found methods to track documents relative to me and recently modified documents within a specific site.
    Basically I want to take document A from the Developer site, document B from the HR site and Document C from the Architecture site and display them in a webpart on a different site that will let me see when they have been modified and by who. It seems that
    you can display whole libraries in a webpart from another sites but not select documents from multiple libraries.
    I have tried making copies to display in a webpart but it doesn't show you when the original has been modified. I need the originals to remain yet display there status in a webpart on a different site.
    Any advise or direction would be greatly appreciated.

    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to display libraries in different sites.
    You can save the library web part to file, then upload the file to a different site.
    When you modify the library files, in the different site the web part would also update.

  • IWeb podcast page in different site.

    My current site is many pages, many graphics, etc. .... i.e. it's slow loading, and slow to publish. I have another .me account and was thinking of creating my podcast page there to facilitate faster publishing when updating my podcast. I have feedburner so all I have to do to change it for iTunes is to change the page link on feedburner. So my question is, if I create my podcast page on another .me site page, how is that going to affect my iTunes listing?
    Whenever I submit a new podcast to my site and publish it, it sends it to iTunes automatically, soooo, if I create a totally new id with all my podcast imported there (I will need to have all the podcast there as it will be the redirect from feedburner for my podcast), will they all submit to iTunes again and mess up my iTunes listing?
    What do I need to be concerned with regarding my iTunes listing and ranking?

  • Issue with frames-based sites in Sf-3(L); Looking for confirmation

    Is anyone else having issues with Safari 3 (Leopard) and frames-based sites? Specifically, frame sizes not being obeyed?
    For example, phpMyAdmin's left Navi frame is, in most themes, supposed to be about 180px wide; if need be, the frame is coded to show scrollbars (again, in all the themes I've used so far anyway).
    However, Safari 3.0.4 on Leopard apparently ignores this and resizes the left Navi frame to an unusably narrow width (for reasons unknown - it's not the the right frame is especially full or anything), with no scroll bars either! However, the very same phpMyAdmin site works fine in Firefox 2, where frame widths show up exactly as they are supposed to.
    Is anyone else having or can duplicate this issue?

    I've been having this problem for months, Safari 3 beta and now Safari 3 on Tiger as well as Leopard.

    From your description, I would like to clarify the following things:
    1. It is recommended to configure the IP Configuration for both the MAPI and Replication NIC on DAG nodes.
    2. A site failure is managed differently from the types of failures that can cause a server or database failover. A site failure is considered to be a disaster recovery event, recovery should be manually performed and completed for the client service to
    be restored and for the outage to end.

  • Break table row across multiple frames?

    Hi
    I would know wether is possible to split a single table row across serverla frames/pages.
    I´m using InDesign CS5 and when I try to import a big table from word documments (by using de app or by scripting), if a row is bigger than the textFrame, a blank page is generated with the overflow simbol.
    The only way to see that table is by enlarging the textFrame.
    I´ve been reading about this problem, and some news in 2004 reported it was a problem wich will be solved in next releases.
    Is there any way to work arround?
    One option is to split de row in several small rows, but I think the proper solution would be to let the row jump to the next TextFrame (just like word does)

    In page 14984 the row with the text "Coruña" span across two pages. Well, in this example, what we did was to convert the table in images. Then the images were put inside each page in InDesign.
    This cell is too big to fit in a frameText and it was shown as empty.
    Other option would be to split the row before the imporation. In this way, InDesign would, automatically jump to the next page.
    The question was if there was any configuration option to implement all this solutions (change the table or convert it to text) without change the table structure.

    According to your description, you want to copy a table with Primary keys from one database to another database.
    As per my understanding, I think the best method is use Transfer SQL Server Objects Task in SQL Server Integration Services. The Transfer SQL Server Objects task transfers one or more types of objects in a SQL Server database between instances of SQL Server.
    Server roles, roles, and users from the specified database can be copied, as well as the permissions for the transferred objects. Indexes, Triggers, Full-text indexes, Primary keys, Foreign keys can also be copied.
    To use the Transfer SQL Server Objects Task, we should create a SQL Server Integration Services Project in SQL Server Data Tools, then drag a Transfer SQL Server Objects Task to Control Flow pane. Specify SourceConnection, SourceDatabase, DestinationConnection
    and DestinationDatabase for the Connection, select the table in the ObjectsToCopy category, then change CopyPrimaryKeys to True and the other corresponding properties in the task.
