  • Problems publishing shared review comments in Acrobat 8.0

I created a shared review in Acrobat 8.0 and posted it to a Sharepoint workspace. A reviewer published comments but I was not able to see them. He double-checked, and he was able to see his comments but I was still unable to see them. He checked again, and was not able to see his comments.
I can see comments the reviewer published on a different date, but the reviewer is no longer able to see those comments either. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I'm having a similar problem and didn't see a solution posted.
I'm using Acrobat 8 Professional to do shared document reviews.  I created a sharepoint shared documents folder which the shared document review process verified and accepted as a destination.
I used the Review and Comment process to save the pdf document to the folder (enabling those using Reader to review and comment) and send an email inviting specific individuals to review and comment.
The problem is when they open the document (using the URL in the email) they don't see the "toolbar" that lets them Publish Comments to Server.  They all have Reader 9.
Until I figure out what the problem is, I'm using a brute force technique to force publishing comments, instructing them to close the browser and then Publish Comments using the dialog box that appears after the browser has closed.
Any suggestions how to get the toolbar that lets them look for published comments and publish their comments to display ?

  • Advanced actions not working in project preview or publish

I have a project with advanced actions which work fine in single slide preview but which don't work at all in project preview or when I publish.  To make it even worse a slide on the same project I did earlier works ok when previewed.  Very confused!  Any suggestions?  I have used the force publish option and all the timelines look the same as the successful slide as far as I can see so I have no idea.

    Hi Lilybiri,
sorry for the delay in replying, I've been tied up elsewhere.  I'm using CP7.  My advanced action is simply meant to show one image after another on click of a button.  It works perfectly for the first instance and then doesn't for the next two.  The only difference between the slides is that the latter two have the images stacked on top of each other whereas the first slide has the images placed separately on the slide.  This is the advanced action for the first slide:
The decisions just refer to the images.  And this is the timeline:
Compared to one of the slides that doesn't work (no images appear)
where again the decisions are just referrring to showing images, and the timeline for this slide:
As I said they both look the same to me apart from the layering of images on the second slide. Any help much appreciated!

  • Publishing ERROR - Patience wearing THIN

    Dear all,
Sorry to REPOST this topic again, even though there are some question regarding "Publish Error"... But my patience is wearing very THIN... and came to somewhere near intolerable point...
Note: English isn't my first language but I will try my best to explain how I did, and what I think about this issue...
In order to make my publishing from iWeb to .Mac successfully I would have to do following step (sometimes repeating more than once)
    1. After made some change to the site... I would Publish it...
    - then get error on some files mostly index.html, or.. other xxx.png files...
    so
    2. I had to log off myself... then login again.
    3. Empty my Trash... for those temporary file which I don't really know why are they there?
    4. Remove file in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWeb.plist
    5. Remove all files publish in iDisk via www.mac.com method rather the iDisk on the computer... because it was too slow to remove from iDisk itself...
    Including
    - Web/Sites/index.html
    - Web/Sites/iWeb
    - Web/RSS/iWeb
    6. Force Publish all by "control+publish all"
If I am lucky enough it would have been successfully published... otherwise... I would have to redo step 2 - 6 again...
My Question : Are those steps necessary? I previously only successfully published my web without those steps nor errors only less than 3 times... since I ever used iWeb (Beginning of Jan)...
Are there any SOLID SOLUTION to this? iWeb is fantastic... But I think it is too much since my own blog is growing, as well as other part of my web..
PLEASE COMMENT... anything... OR Contribute any SOLUTION if exists...???
    Cheers

Four things could be going on, but it's fixable.
first.. make sure that your screen saver, and energy saver are turned off in your system preferences. iWeb had trouble with this in it's first version, but since the update it's supposed to be fixed, but I'd still do it.
second, it's been my experience that iweb is affected by bandwidth issues while uploading. If you're using your browser, uploading or downloading anything else... you'll get the error message and that one file couldn't upload. Make sure that when you click on the publish button you walk away from the computer and don't use it. This appears to be a bigger problem for us G4 users than the G5 folks. Also, it's a memory hog, so seriously, when you publish turn everything else off except your computer and iWeb and walk away. Seems to work for me.
Third... make sure your idisk is NOT loaded onto your desktop. If it starts refreshing and files are getting put there while you're uploading, iWeb will give you the dreaded error message.
Finally, just keep republishing. iWeb seems to bog down when you publish sometimes. I re-uploaded my entire website last night, including 7 video podcasts and numerous other blogs that have audio and video in them. I had to publish and publish and publish.... it took four tries, but it finally finished. It seems that it gets farther and farther along each time. Anyway... it works.
Also, once you've published succesfully, it goes faster the next time. I'm still convinced that it's a bandwidth issue and that iWeb times out when there are problems on either your server, your computer, or apple. Anyway... doing these things cleared up the largest share of publishing errors for me.
    Hope this helps.

  • Editing causes publishing corruption.

Ok, I am having publishing errors after editing in Captivate 6 where the text is replicating on the following slides. So far I have had to delete and re-do all the voice insertions. I need an understanding as to why the editing and saving is not producing the outcome.

Hi maryjop,  Can you try Force Publishing the project edited in CP6? If you still see the issue, is it possible to send the project to us. You can upload it to Acrobat.com and send me the link at [email protected]
    Thanks,
    Sankaram.

  • Web Gallery in iPhoto08

I have successfully published an album using web gallery and all was fone for a few weeks. Now the web gallery has gone from the left hand column though it is still showing on my .Mac account. Can I retireve it to iPhoto so that i can add pictures?

Welcome to the Apple user discussion forums - Woof - woof
Now the web gallery has gone from the left hand column though it is still showing on my .Mac account. Can I retireve it to iPhoto so that i can add pictures?
No one has found a way to do this unless in the iPhoto preference file yu can find teh web gallery and play with forcing publishing there - but I don't think anyone has had this work
Basically you probably will have to delete the unlinked gallery and republish it - as a hint for the future be sure that you are totally up to date with iPhoto updates (currently 7.1.3) and the iLife support update AND do NOT make any changes to a web gallery while it is updating (this seems to be the biggest cause of unlinking web galleries)
I also suggest reporting to Apple - iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback to help hurry their fixing this bug

  • CRL and delta CRL generation schedule not fixed (CS 2008 R2 and CS 2003 R2)

CRL and delta CRL is generated daily at the same time in test environment (sometimes offset may be about 1 minute).
Delta CRL generation statistics (effective date) in production environment :
    2014.07.12 23:01
    2014.07.14 00:00
    2014.07.15 00:43
    2014.07.16 01:22
    2014.07.17 01:59
    2014.07.18 03:10
    2014.07.19 03:48
One can see that delta CRL generation time is constantly shifting and it's not the same as time period when delta CRL is being generated. Delta CRL validyti is 1 day, so it should be generated each day at the same time. CRL size is about 10MB, delta CRL
size is about 0,5 MB. Delta CRL generation time is about 1,5 H.
Question: is it possible to fix CRL and delta CRL generation time (make it constant), using standard ADCS tools/settings? Role separation is used in solution, therefore it's not safe to run daily task (with CA administrator's permissions)
to force publishing time in CA registry (if it's possible at all?), or similar "workoround.

Hi, Vivian! Sorry for delay - I was dealing with another urgent issue, but now it's time to return to this issue.
Vadims, thank you for information. I saw this article
http://blogs.technet.com/b/pki/archive/2008/06/05/how-effectivedate-thisupdate-nextupdate-and-nextcrlpublish-are-calculated.aspx, but it not answers all the questions.
Following links in article referred in your post, I found latest version of article moved to TechNet:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/20652.how-thisupdate-nextupdate-and-nextcrlpublish-are-calculated.aspx
That article provides more detailed explanation, but there are still some questions. Below is schedule of delta CRL publishing on production and test servers which are using absolutely identical CA settings, including but not limited to CRLPeriod, CRLOverlapPeriod,
    CRLDeltaPeriod, CRLDeltaOverlapPeriod, ClockSkewMinutes.
But production server has more certificates and publishing of delta CRL requires more time (about 1,5-2h). As result, CRL and delta CRL publishing time constantly shifting approx. by 1h (this timeframe is not equal to delta CRL generation time), but CRL
and delta CRL on test server are generated almost at the same time (see more info below).
Therefore, one can assume that something is missing in publishing time calculation formulas, provided in the articles mentioned above.

  • UNRESOLVED CAPTIVATE ISSUES

In response to a question by Rod Ward in another thread, herewith the unresolved issues with Captivate:
    - Programme not listed in "uninstall list" - that is in Windows Cotrol Panel
    - The Jigsaw widget just hangs when puzzle is not built in time
    - When using Drop and Drag and or Jigsaw widget in project with multiple attemps the widgets "fall over" the moment you add a quiz somehere in the project
    - The Notes widget does not work when you publish to WIndows exe. (Even Adobe experts online could not solve this - several hours with control of my PC)
    - For some reason in some projects the background audio keeps looping, even when turned of 9Again experts could not solve)
    - Randomly, projects will publish with images, smartshapes etc. all filled with red. Then magicly, if you try enough times, it publishes ok.
    - The software hangs (freezes) OFTEN. This could be while working in a project, when running a preview, anything. This has been an issue since my Captivate 5.5.
    - Background audio volume control is inconsistent
    - Fill and other formatting tools are PATHETIC when compared to Microsoft Office and even smaller software houses like Serif.
    - Captivate is VERY limited as to the format of files that it can use. Compare with Corel.
    - Buttons (and some other tools) do not behave consistently in publishing vs previewing. this EATS UP MY WORK TIME!! Again pathetic when compared to software such as Serif.
    - The package as a whole seems "unstable" (Hanging, inconsistent behaviour) Remainds me of stuff we used in the eighties.
    - Captivate is VERY resource intensive.
    - It is "slow" software. Takes ages to do previews etc. Compare with good o'll powerpoint,
    - Rediculously expensive for what it does.
    - The turorials provided by Adobe is rather weak. it always shows things like widgets in the simplest application imagineable. Then I have to spend HOURS AND DAYS trying to figure out all the pitfalls associated with tools in a slightly more advanced use.
    - I have worked on CAD, Webdesign, graphics, video editing, ERP, MRP, office (I.e, MS Office,Lotus, Multimate) and learning software. I do some coding work in visual basic. I teach software applications. Adobe Captivate is most difficult to get to know. It is riddled with pitfalls. I spend about 30% of my time to figure out the software.
In case you wonder, I use an i5 computer with four gigs of ram.
I process MASSIVE videos in Corel which NEVER HANGS.
And then there are many niggling little issues that I have learnt to work around!!

    Hi THYSG333,
Sorry for the inconveneince. I will try to respond to some of the them(added in-line). There are couple of issues, I need sample projects. You can upload them to workspaces.acrobat.com and send me a shared link.  You can also contact me at sankaram at adobe dot com for discussing the issues.
-Programme not listed in "uninstall list" - that is in Windows Control Panel
Sankaram: It seems to be an issue with cleaning up. Can you try with creative suite cleaner to remove Captivate 7 and install it again? Creative suite cleaner is available at http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
    - The Jigsaw widget just hangs when puzzle is not built in time
Sankaram: When Jigsaw puzzle is not built in time, we have seen movie pauses (NOT hang). Let us know if you observe the same.
    - When using Drop and Drag and or Jigsaw widget in project with multiple attempts the widgets "fall over" the moment you add a quiz somewhere in the project
Sankaram: Jigsaw widget : This is a bug in Jigsaw widget.
Drag and Drop : Are you using Captivate 7 in-built Drag and Drop or any widget?
    - The Notes widget does not work when you publish to WIndows exe. (Even Adobe experts on-line could not solve this - several hours with control of my PC)
Sankaram: This is a bug in Notes Widget.
    - For some reason in some projects the background audio keeps looping, even when turned of 9Again experts could not solve)
Sankaram: This is a bug in Captivate.
    - Randomly, projects will publish with images, smartshapes etc. all filled with red. Then magicly, if you try enough times, it publishes ok.
Sankaram: Can you try “Force Publish” option? Let us know if you still encountering the issue after this.
    - The software hangs (freezes) OFTEN. This could be while working in a project, when running a preview, anything. This has been an issue since my Captivate 5.5.
    - The package as a whole seems "unstable" (Hanging, inconsistent behaviour) Remainds me of stuff we used in the eighties.
Sankaram: Can you provide some set of steps or scenarios for us to investigate.
    - Background audio volume control is inconsistent
Sankaram: It would be great if you could send the sample project for us to investigate.
    - Buttons (and some other tools) do not behave consistently in publishing vs previewing. this EATS UP MY WORK TIME!! Again pathetic when compared to software such as Serif.
Sankaram: Could you please share the project?
    - Captivate is VERY limited as to the format of files that it can use. Compare with Corel.
Sankaram : May I know what all additional formats you are looking for and why?

  • EBS R12.1.3 BI Publisher is forcing NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS to '.,'

    Hi all,
I developed a report in EBS 11i (11.5.10.2). It creates XML file via RDF report (only data model in it) and generates layout via XML Publisher RTF template.
I have some numbers in the report that I format in data model using TO_CHAR(some_numeric_value,'FM999G999G990D00').
This value is then simply displayed in layout as a string field. No formatting is applied in layout.
NLS settings that I use are:
    NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS= ,.
    NLS_LANG= CROATIAN_AMERICA.UTF8
EBS profile option ICX_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS is set to value ,.
It works fine in EBS 11i (11.5.10.2). For numeric value 20354.1 I get formatted value 20.354,10 and this is exactly what I want.
A part of XML file with this value is:
    <AMOUNT>20354.1</AMOUNT>
    <AMOUNT_DISP>20.354,10</AMOUNT_DISP>
The same report also works fine in EBS R12.0.4
But, in EBS R12.1.3 I have encountered a problem.
With the same NLS settings as stated above I started getting formatted value 20,354.10 (decimal and grouping separators are changed).
In a log of my concurrent request I can see the message:
Forcing NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS to: '.,' for XDO processing
and my XML file now looks like this:
    <AMOUNT>20354.1</AMOUNT>
    <AMOUNT_DISP>20,354.10</AMOUNT_DISP>
This is not good for our customers, they want to see number formatted as 20.354,10.
We raised SR on Oracle Support, but all we got is an answer that "this is the standard behavior to have the XML report submitted with NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTER set to ".,". This is a standard and impacting only the XML data file generation in order to prevent discrepancies.".
I've tried to search for a patch that would fix this, but with no luck.
I will pursue this issue further on SR, but if anyone has an idea how to fix this I would appreciate it very much.
I know that I can use "raw" numeric value (e.g.20354.1) and format it in layout template (by using format-number), but there are many reports that I would have to change so I'd rather not do that.
    Thanks!
    Dalibor

    Hi Srini,
    Yes, "NLS Compliant" is checked.
I have looked at the document you suggested, and based on that I have tried different settings for ICX_TERRITORY profile, but that didn't help.
I was using language CROATIAN, ICX_TERRITORY was set on AMERICA. I tried setting it to CROATIA, but (like I sadi) that didn't help.
ICX_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS profile is set to ',.', which should produce number formatting like this: 12.345,67
    When I select from FND_CONCURRENT_REQUESTS I see NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS = ',.' (correct).
But then XML concurrent report forces NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS to ".," (I see that message in the log) and when I use TO_CHAR(my_number,'FM999G999D99') I get 12,345.67 (which is not ok).
    Anyway, thanks for your effort.
    Dalibor

  • Force Day View of Calendar Published from Outlook Web Access

Is there a way to force the view of the Outlook calendar published through Outlook Web Access 2013 so that it displays the day or week view without the user having to click on an icon to change the view?  I want to display a day view calendar (or week
view) by default.  I can successfully publish the calendar but a user has to click the icons to change the view.  I want to display the calendar in an iframe on a digital sign and the user won't have a way to click or touch the icon.  Are there
parameters that can be passed in the url?

    Hello Brian,
I'd suggest asking OWA specific questions on the
Exchange Server for Developers forum instead. Also you may find the
Exchange Server 2010 Outlook Web App Customization SDK helpful.
As for Microsoft Office Outlook you can use the
CurrentView property of the Explorer or Folder classes which returns a View object
representing the current view. To obtain a View object for the view of the current Explorer,
    use Explorer.CurrentView instead
of the CurrentView property of the currentFolder object
    returned by Explorer.CurrentFolder.
The View object allows you to create customizable views that allow you to better sort, group and ultimately view data of all different types. There are a variety of different view types that provide
the flexibility needed to create and maintain your important data.
The table view type (olTableView) allows you to view data in a simple field-based table.
The Calendar view type (olCalendarView) allows you to view data in a calendar format.
The card view type (olCardView) allows you to view data in a series of cards. Each card displays the information contained by the item and can be sorted.
The icon view type (olIconView) allows you to view data as icons, similar to a Windows folder or explorer.
The timeline view type (olTimelineView) allows you to view data as it is received in a customizable linear time line.
Views are defined and customized using the View object's XML property.
The XML property allows you to create and set a customized XML schema that defines the various features of a view.

  • How to force BI Publisher to output header without any record in CSV or XML format?

When the output format is CSV or XML, it seems that Oracle BI publisher does not use the template. When there is no record returned, it only display "ROWSET" in the report. No column names are displayed in the report. If the output format is one of the following: PDF, Excel, HTML, RTF, Excel200, and MHTML, it generates correct header/column names even there is no record.
How could I force BI publisher to do the same when the output format is CSV or XML (data)?
    Thanks,
    GT

    Alex,
I did not say that bip must use template for xml output. What I have said was that bip ignore the template even you have set up a template when the output is in XML or CSV. The reason that I set up a template for XML or CSV output is to test whether I can make it output column names when the SQL query returns no records. It apparently that it did not return any column name. It just returns "ROWSET" text.  This is a problem for down-stream process or any other receiving system since the down-stream systems do not know what are the column names in the report.
Did you get what is the issue here and have an answer for it?

  • Question on forcing the style on main page in publisher

    Hey Guys,
We have announcement portlet created using publisher. We want to provide rich text editor for the text field of the announcement in the create article pop up page.
The issue we have is font size and color of the text specified by the user using the rich text editor overwrites the styles that are specified in the presentation templates. The question is how to force the font size and color of the text to the style specified on the presentation template. In other words how to overwrite the font size/color which user specifies using the editor to the font size/color which is specified in the presentation template.
    Thanks for your help
    shalini

If you do not want users to be able to style the article text at all then you should change that field to be a plain text field instead of rich text. You can change this on the data entry template for the articles themselves.

  • Force iweb to publish

i wan't to force iweb to republish stuff (everything) that has not been changed since the last publish.

it's not enough. I wan't it to publish from the bottom up. especially since I have many pages I don't want to do this often. and as far as I can tell it doesn't re-upload the whole page does it?

  • What is "Force Re-Publish All The Slides?"

    Captivate v5.5
Can anyone explain when you would select the "Force Re-Publish All The Slides" option within Publish ?
I have a feeling it has something to do with a project that you have made changes to after you have already published it, and you have to tell Captivate to update the changes before you publish the project again - but having to select this as an option that does not make much sense.
Maybe I have got it wrong.

Please forgive the long rant...but I feel strongly about this one.
As a former Technical Author who worked for software companies, I agree with the sentiment that Captivate's software documentation could be more complete and more accurate.  But, since my tiny little family company also now builds small bits of software (widgets) I'm also able to see Adobe's side of this current argument.  We get lots of customers or potential customers that think we should build something THEY personally happen to want, regardless of the fact that it would cost us ten times as much to build it as they would be willing to pay for it.  We pick our target features very carefully because otherwise we wouldn't make a dollar on widgets.  (We can actually make 5 times as much money just spending the same time building courses for paying clients as what we can programming and selling widgets.)
So, like it or not, it's Adobe's development budget for CP and they really don't have to ask our permission to use it...even if we DO pay for their software...any more than Ford or Chrysler should ask my permission to build a new model with XYZ feature because I once bought a car from them. If Adobe ask my opinion about what I'd like to see in the next version, I readily give it to them.  But that's a privilege they extend to me.  It's not my right as a paying customer to demand they take my advice and build what I want them to.  If I can make a good enough business case for a new feature I suggest, it might make it into the next version, but it might not because something or someone else has a better argument for where the money should go.  Some of my suggestions ARE now in Captivate 6.  A lot still aren't.  I personally don't fret about that.  I just get on with using the tool as best I can.
I even set up the Captivate6IdeaScale site just after Cp5.5 came out to give other users a more visible voice in what features they wanted to see. That site is still up.  If you doubt that Adobe listens to its customers, go there and look at how many of the suggestions people posted are now in Captivate 6.
Honestly, no company wastes their development budget on things they KNOW will not work.  But picking which features will sell a product and which ones won't is notoriously difficult.  And whoever told you "The customer is always right" was lying to  make a sale of some kind or has never studied some classic business successes and failures of the past.  Predicting success is just NOT that easy, and customers are only experts about what THEY want, not what the overall market will respond to.  Read some recent books about "Innovation" and you will see that we would not have many of the current products we enjoy if it were always just up to customers to predict what would work and what would not.  Companies that can't get it right often enough go broke or get eaten by bigger fish.  Customers that can't pick good products are what keep a lot of these hopeless companies in business longer than they should be.  Take a good look at where Adobe is in the software world.  They're not doing too bad.  I certainly wish I owned the company.
At the moment a lot of what has gone into Captivate 6 has been about covering areas where Cp has been losing ground to other products.  Themes, the new SCORM drivers, Avatars and Clip Art figures, improved video capture, are just a few examples.  But I agree that Captivate 6 is having "teething problems" and I personally think it could have done with several more BETA versions before release.  However, having been on the BETA program myself, I also think it's possible many of the issues we are now seeing would NOT have been revealed by several more BETA versions anyway because the BETA team simply cannot cover all of the use cases and platforms where bugs will show up.  So getting the product out as quickly as possible (even though it was a dangerous gamble with stiff competition from Storyline now in the market) might in the long run have been the better move.  Who am I to say?  Which one of us has built or managed anything as big as Adobe, or even a product with as many users as Captivate so that we can sit in judgement of it?  I personally just DON'T think my business skills are THAT good.
I'm not defending Cp bugs...I can give you a long list of the ones I would like to see fixed too.  But anyone that has worked with Cp as long as I have is accustomed to seeing these sort of frustrated forum posts after every new version.  Does this mean that Captivate is a shoddy product?  I don't believe so.  I also happen to have Storyline in my toolbox (just in case one of my clients asks for it) and after buying it I also watched the Articulate forums daily for a while.  There were plenty of bugs being logged there too, despite the fact that SL went through about a dozen BETA versions before release.

  • Publishing using MSBuild without forcing a rebuild of the project

I am using a multi-step build process to build out my solution including a step where I am versioning my assemblies and then building my project.
It seems that the MSBuild Publish step outlined in this article: http://sedodream.com/2013/09/21/HowToExtendTheWebPublishProcessWithoutModifyingProjectContents.aspx forces
a rebuild of the project regardless of whether I need a build or not.
Is there a way to simply just Publish the contents of a project without requiring a build/rebuild of the project?
    Please advise.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
I'm not so sure whether I ms-understand something here.
But as far as I know, we cannot prevent building when publish the project. Any publish step in Visual Studo will first build the project then publish. Do you mean you just want to copy your files to the location you want? If that is the
case, what about consider using some scripts but not msbuild?
If you choose to use msbuild to publish the project, the common step should involve the build process so that the project can be used by others.
    Best regards,
    Barry
